(OOC:Srry for putting this a bit late i've been doing alot of stuff recently in RL. hopefully i can get back to good activity before this is all over.) The shot of good old Corellian ale slithered down LoneWolf’s throat. He looked lazily around the room trying to see what everyone was doing. he finished his victory glass then decided to get some rest before the next, and final mission. So far he didn’t like the way it was seeming, the scores hadn’t been updated and the end of the competition was almost done. It was a time of festival, almost, seeing pilots from all around retell what had happened earlier that day. LoneWolf chuckled then brought a data pad up to study briefly the next mission. "Gunboats" he mused, the bomber type crafts were one of his favorites. "Letsee ‘ere we got a space station facility taken under control by activist. We’re to take out the heavy artillery lethally, and escort the troop shuttles in the docking bay. Almost sounds like something’s missing…" he clicked through the mission stats but he found nothing being untold, he then considered how people would get on the station. "There might be opposing crafts then." He clicked a few buttons, and left a message about it on the Aegis comnet. "Better enjoy the night." LoneWolf took a mug of coffee then went back to the booth Aegis usually occupied with the rest of the conjugating pilots.

After the mission, a quite successful one, I decided to hit the refresher. It was refreshing after a long hard battle.I decided to then go to the lounge and get some food, then get some rest. I went to the lounge and ordered a nice, hearty meal. It quickly filled me up and I then I proceeded to my quarters for some r & r. I shut the door and went into a deep sleep. The last mission had worn me out. I awoke the next morning refreshed, and lively. I put on my jumpsuit and headed to the lounge for some breakfast. After the meal, I went to the Aegis ready room, but no one was there. Our orders were posted on the board so I checked them. The mission didn't begin until 1000, so I decided to get some exercise. All these missions had taken up my time and I wasn't doing my daily routines. I ran across the Atrus, my usual route, ending up at the gym. I checked my watch and still had time, so I did a little weight training. I wasn't able to lift as much as I used to be able to do. It felt odd being in a gym. I finished up my exercises and then went to my quarters to take another shower. Next it would be off to the sims to meet the squadron there.

  Kain leapt up out of bed at the sound of knocking at his door. Have I overslept? he wondered. He ran over to the door to his room and opened it.   There in the hallway stood the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She had long, brown hair, deep blue eyes, and the most fabulous body ever. Kain's jaw dropped and he was left speechless. As soon as she saw him she smiled.     "Hello," she said in a luscious voice that made his heart melt. Then she walked right up to him and kissed him.   Kain didn't no what to do, so he simply enjoyd the kiss, which lasted at least a minute. When she finally broke away he was able to stammer, "Hi." She winked. "Uh, who are you? What are you doing here?" he questioned. Oh, real smooth, he thought.   "I'm here to thank you," she said, laughing. Then she pushed him back into his room, closing the door behind them. She pushed him down onto the bed and -   - Kain leapt up out of bed at the sound of knocking at his door. What's going on? He looked around. Oh. It was only a dream, he realized, disappointed. He put on his shirt and went to answer the door.   There in the hallway stood a seven foot tall black and tan Wookie. The creature bared its fangs at Kain but then smiled.     "Hello," he said in a gruff voice. Kain was surprised - Wookies cannot speak Basic.   "Uh, hi. Who are you?" he asked.   "My name is Real Furry," the alien replied.   "Huh? Riel Fury?"   "No ... Real Furry."   "Oh," Kain said. "What do you want?"   The Wookie's black eyes lit up and it stepped toward Kain. "To make sweet loving to you!" he screamed.   Kain had no time to react. In a matter of seconds the hairy beast had pushed him back into his room, locking the doors behind them. Real Furry had him in a tight grip and there was nothing for Kain to do but watch in horror as the Wookie ripped off his pants and -   - Kain leapt up out of bed at the sound of knocking at his door. It took him a second to realize he was screaming, and then a few more seconds to stop. Taking a quick glance around the room, he pulled his blaster rifle out from under his bed and walked to the door.   "Who the hell is it?" he yelled.   A voice answered back from behind the door. "It's Japheth, man. What the hell's going on in there? Were you screaming?"   Kain's cheeks reddened; he tossed the gun aside. "Uh, no, sir."   "Hmmm. Well, get your sorry butt down to the simulators. Aegis began their mission five minutes ago."   Kain cursed. I knew I overslept! "All right, sir, I'll be right there." Japheth muttered something and walked off as Kain raced to get dressed.

  Darkhawk flexed his hand, getting a better feel of the flight yoke. Being in an Assault Gunboat brought back memories of his olden days, flying for the Galactic Empire. His first day in Tau Squadron, piloting Assault Gunboats, had been one of his best missions ever. He could still remember how he and his wingman, Doomsday, had tackled an entire flight of X-Wings and come away nearly untouched. It was the first fighter he had ever flown that had shields OR ion cannons; the only two superior Imperial craft in his mind were the TIE Defender and the Missile Boat. Not even a TIE Advanced or TIE Phantom could stand up to someone in an Assault Gunboat who knew what he was doing. Like me, he thought, smiling.   "All right, One Flight, let's rock and roll," Darkhawk said, pushing his throttle to full. He roared past Lonewolf and Zakath, right into the fray. Turbolaser blasts from the enemy station were zipping all around him, but even without the Force he was quick enough and skilled enough to juke in and out between them with ease. Anticipating where the gunners would fire was all too easy after years of doing this kind of thing.   If only I was as good as I used to be, he wished. Then I would really show these Lusthawks a thing or two. Damn Bnasis and his memory wipe. Filled with anger at his unfortunate situation, Darkhawk switched his firing controls to full guns and began to plug away at the station with lasers and ion cannons at the same time.   "DH, watch that cover fire!" Lonewolf yelled.   "Yeah, you're way too close," Rogue added. "Pull up, man."   With a grunt Darkhawk shut his communicator off. He didn't feel right doing it, but he didn't want to listen to the others right now, either. What he wanted to do was get lost in the flow of battle. Now, with no distractions, he began to become one with his "ship". The Assault Gunboat flowed effortlessly across the surface of the station as its pilot picked off gun turret after gun turret with the grace of a stunt pilot in an A-Wing. Yeah, it's just like old times.

  Darkhawk spun his Assault Gunboat around, leaving the station behind and heading toward the Y-Wings. The two starfighters were a pretty good match in a dogfight; the Gunboat had an edge on manueverability while the Rebel fighter had better shields and armor. This ought to be fun, he thought to himself.   sk8guy had been quick to inform him that he was no longer in One Flight. Apparently the Aegis roster had been switched up a little - Darkhawk was in Two Flight now. He shook his head and smiled. sk8guy and I have switched places.   "All right, boys, this is Aegis Six, coming in hot," he yelled as he launched a pair of missiles out at an enemy fighter. The Rebel bomber's shields collapsed, but it was not destroyed. Liquid flew by and finished the bogey off.   "Nice shot, Nine," sk8guy commented.   "Thanks for the assist, DH," Liquid said.   "Thanks for stealing my kill," the Commodore replied. Darkhawk looked around his status screen and frowned. "Has anyone seen Kain?" he asked.   Lonewolf answered, "I sent Japheth to go get him. I think he overslept."   "Typical Kain. sk8guy, where do you want me to go?"   "I'm with Zakath for now," the flight leader answered. "Head on over and watch PJ's back."   "Commodore y Commodore, eh? Sounds good to me."   "This is gonna be like shooting monkey in a barrel," PJ announced, laughing.     "Uh ... right. Something like that."

  Darkhawk rolled right to evade laser fire from an enemy Y-Wing; red laser bolts shot through the air where he had just been. Whew. Another close call.   Pulling up sharply, he pushed his craft's maneuvering abilities beyond their limit and wound up right behind his would-be attacker. He unloaded ten rounds of ion cannon fire into the Y-Wing - the Rebel fighter-bomber's electrical systems shut down and it stopped dead in space.   "How many tangos do we have left out here, Five?" Darkhawk asked.   "Seven Y-Wings remaining," sk8guy answered. "You take the leader and I'll get his wingman, okay?"   "Roger, Five."   "Make sure you leave me some, guys!" a familiar voice answered. Darkhawk checked his radar and saw that Kain Rennok had finally joined the battle, coming up fast in his TIE Avenger.   "Nice of you to join us, Three," Lonewolf remarked as he juked a Y-Wing that had gotten in behind him. "Get this bogey off my tail, Kain, would you?"   "No problem," the newcomer replied. Seconds later he launched a pair of torpedos at the attacking fighter. I made another run on the station. The shields were now down, but the systems were still operational, plus the station still had teeth. I went in, ions blazing. The systems were now down to 2/3 and sirens began to blare across the station. Escape pods and shuttles began to pour out the station. i counted at least 15 shuttles and more than two dozen escape pods. "What about the escapees Lonewolf?" I asked Lonewolf. "We'll try and get as many as possible, but focus on the station." he replied. Soon after three of  the shuttles were sitting dead in space. Just as I was about to go for the kill on the station, the systems dropped down to nothing, it was dead. I immediately changed me weapons to missiles and targetted a nearby Y-wing. i got a good lock and fired. The small craft didn't even have time to react. The target in my sights was a shuttle. i throttled up and homed in th esluggish craft. The shuttles were worker class and had no weapons, only tractor beams. i smiled as i realized how easy a kill this would be. I linked my fire and began to eat away at the shield. Once they were down to 50%, I switched to ions and finished them. I then had to break off and com in at another angle to diable it. I fired three times and the shuttle stopped, dead in space.

I looked on to a Y-wing, but it went evasive. I smiled as it tried to evade me and then pounded it with lasers. IT cut its engine and the craft stopped, leaving me to fly right past it. I looked behind me and heard the locked tone of a missile. I cut to the right sharply, followed by a left and then went into an inverted dive; too late, the missile was alive inspace and homing in on me. Sithspawn I thought as I barely avoided the first run at me. I had to turn and try and get it in front of me. I pulled my craft around just in time to see green laser fire hit the missile and detonate it. A TIE Advanced flew through the fireball and spat more green laser fire behind me. "Sk8, your tail is gone and you're clear." Kain commed me as he flew past my gunboat. "Thanks Kain. I appreciate it." I said back as I thought of something. I checked the station's status, disabled. I then went after a group of shuttles, but Kain beat me to it. Blast him, he was taking a lot of kills this mission. Having that happen, I homed in on another group of shuttles. I switched to missiles and got a lock and let two missiles fly. They homed in on their targets and hit them directly, creating a giant explosion. Now it was time to take prisoners. I switched to ions and starting strafing the shuttles, disabling them as I went. Liquid stared at disbelief at his status indicators, several ships had left hyper space from several clicks away. Liquid pushed the throttle to full and engaged his ship indicators, targeting the closest of the ships. It was an A-wing. "Awww...shiznit!" Liquid screamed into the com, being greeted by the same from several of his wing-mates, "We got a squadron of A-wings, a squadron of T-wings, and a frickin' corvette, the T-wings seem to be on the defensive, but keep an eye on them for now, don't let anything get by you." Liquid assumed the role of Flight Leader since Rogue wasn't taking action. "Rogue, you take my right wing, Rusty, take my left, we're going for the A-wings, we take out 4, go for more, ok?" The approval was overwhelming as his com blared out affirmatives, and yessir's. He pulled hard to the right, making his ship juke and jive past the green laser blasts that were already being sloppily aimed. This must have been programmed late Liquid thought, realizing that if they had taken time, some of the lasers might have actually stood a chance of hitting his manueverable ship. "Rogue, bogie, 12 o'clock, get 'em," Liquid shouted, pushing forward into his controls and diving into the depths of space. Liquid knew that the ESC wasn't over yet, but, he couldn't wait for the looks he could see in his mind on Warmaker's pilot's faces as they realized the true potential of Aegis. We're gonna win, dammit! he thought, blasting through an A-wing as Rusty took after another.

My mouth hung open with disbelief as a squadron of A-wings and T-wings exited hyperspace, followed closely by a corvette. I then checked my scanners to see about the boarding parties status. i commed up the ship captain, "How much longer you guys gonna need an escort? Trouble just walked in." The voice that answered me was young, probably early 20s," About another minute, then we'll be rid of you cocky Navy boys." I smiled as I heard that remark then commed back, "You have 30 seconds then we're engaging." The 30 seconds passed rather slowly and in that time, 4 A-wings were gone , as well as 2 T-wings and someone was making a run on the corvette. My HUD suddenly displayed the dat passed on about the corvette. The corvette Ishamel was caring some usual cargo, Bear Claws. "Six, you see this?" I commed over to Darkhawk. "Roger five. We'll have to bcommend Riel on his choice of name and contents. I wonder if he did this himself?" he replied back cheerfully. "I bet not, but anyway, let's go join the fun. We don't Aegis to have aparty without us, right?" I ordered back. "Right." Darkhawk confirmed and the two of s raced towards the fray. I had a couple missiles left, so I targeted the Ishamel and let them all fly out towards the small capital ship. "Eat that Riel!!" i yelled into the cockpit.

Kain checked the status of the mission, so far the Stormtrooper transports had boarded the station. Two out of the three flights of A-Wings had been destroyed.  Only one flight of A-Wings remained, a squadron of T-Wings, and the Corvette Ishamel. "Lonewolf, should we help out Sk8guys's and Liquid's flight out?" Kain asked. "No we should hang back here and guard the transports...I have a feeling that Riel has other things planned for us." Lonewolf replied. Kain watched the battle as flight one patrolled the station.  Liquid's flight was engaging the last flight of A-Wings while Sk8guy's flight flew towards the Corvette and its T-Wing escorts. Suddenly several ships exited hyperspace seven clicks away from the station.  It was two squadron of Z-95 Headhunters and they were closing in on the station. "Oh shi...flight one follow my lead, we're gonna need to take out those Z-95s before they can get to the station and our transports!  They're probably armed with torpedoes so we gotta take them out before they can fire them, so switch to missiles we're have to take'em out fast.? Lonewolf said to the rest of his flight. Kain followed Lonewolf's lead and switched to missiles.  Targeting the nearest fighter Kain throttled up and let his thumb hover over the trigger.  Flight one was closing in on the Z-95s fast, they were almost in range for the missiles.  As Kain heard the beep from the missile lock, he pressed the trigger and the missile came zooming out towards its target.  Quickly he locked onto another fighter and repeated.

  Darkhawk heard Lonewolf yelling something across the holocomm, but he had no time for that, nor would he have been able to get over and help his squadron commander in time. Two Flight was still very close to the base, having to keep a watch on Omega Group. Some of the T-Wings had been equipped with heavy rockets and were trying to get shots in on the troop transports. PJ and Zakath had had their hands full shooting down warhead while Darkhawk and sk8guy handled the fighters.   "How many T-Wings do you count out here still, Six?" the lieutenant asked.   "I'd say about seven or eight."   "This is slow going. It's hard to catch up to something that fast and quick in these gunboats."   "Maybe for you it is, Five." Just to proved he wasn't boasting, Darkhawk torched a nearby T-Wing with his double laser cannons.   "Yeah, well, you're used to these things. Give me a TIE Advanced anyway."   A new voice suddenly came in over the speaker. "Imperial pilots, this is Captain Benjamin aboard the Corellian Corvette Ishamel. I would advise you to surrender now; we have two more squadrons of fighters incoming and another Corvette. Give up now and perhaps your lives will be spared."   "Hey, Benji boy, this is Commodore Darkhawk," the pilot snapped back.   "Yes, Commodore?"   "You and your friends can kiss my ass! If you think you can stop us now, you're messed up in the head. We've already taken your base and we're coming after you next."   "Woohoo! You tell him, DH!" Zakath cheered.   "We'll see," the Rebel replied.

  Darkhawk grimaced as Kain streaked off toward the enemy Corvette. "You can't handle that thing by yourself, you crazy SOB, Kain!" he shouted.   "Any why not? You just said last mission that you could take out an entire frigate by yourself, in a TIE Advanced. This should be like stealing yub nuts from an Ewok for me against a Corvette in a Gunboat."   Darkhawk wasn't convinced. "I don't know, Six. You aren't as talented as I am."   "Oh, stick it in your ear, Darkhawk. I'll be fine."   "Oh well. Do what you want, Three. Good luck."   "Thanks." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -   Just as Liquid finished off the last of the A-Wings, more enemy blips appeared on his radar. He quickly cycled through the targets on his status screen and then radioed Lonewolf.   "One, we just picked up more enemy ships in the system."   "Well, that's just peachy. How many this time?"   "It's just like the Isamel said. Two more squadrons of fighters - Toscan fighters, it looks like - and another Corellian Corvette.   "Toscans, eh? They're almost as powerful as our Gunboats," Lonewolf replied. "This could get ugly quick."   "Right. The A-Wings are finished; would you like Three Flight to engage those Toscans?"   Lonewolf ran through several scenarios in his head, debating possible outcomes. "Negative, Nine. Come help us finish off all of these Z-95s, we're being overwhelmed. Badly." PJ had gone to cover Lonewolf when Kain ran off, but it was still two against twenty. Both pilots had no shields and had gone 100% evasive. "We can worry about the newcomers later."   "Roger that, Leader. We're on our way."

LoneWolf hardly realized what Kain had managed to do, "Flights two, and three engage and destroy the remaining Z-95’s. I’ll dump the rest of my torps on that cruiser then I want flight three to go after me. once we all dump our load on that I want flights one and two to give keep the fighters away from flight two as it goes after the cruisers. We’ll have to keep those Tuscan’s real bussy!" LoneWolf soon realized they were only 7 clicks away from the fray. LoneWolf broke away hardly hearing the chatter of "affirmative." He had half his load left and quickly dumped two blind shots, he moved to their sides, and strafed a line of torps saving his last one just in case it was needed later on. The shields buckled and gave and two last torps hit home on the side of the haul. "Eat that Benjamin!" LoneWolf spat out the same as a curse. Several plates of armor shattered off letting a few decks open to space, he zipped past evading the "Thud" of turbolaser fire behind his arse. "Flight three make your run, kain hurry up take those rockets out then get over here for support."

"Why in the good galaxy won’t it go boom?" LoneWolf asked flatly to himself, "Flight three take one more run then move for fighter cover. Flight two will just have to go after the other corvette." LoneWolf could hardly believe how close this competition would be. "Keep up the work Aegis! We can do this!" Adrenaline rushed through his veins, as did anger. "Damn you stupid computers!" LoneWolf was the first to pierce at the Tuscan squadron. He managed to steal a few shots but quickly moved to avoid getting caught in the deadlier return fire. He kept his fingers close to the power settings, almost regretting his move. He suddenly was relieved by the Force. "Excellent!" he bursted out, "your mine!" He pulled the craft in a bold U-turn to rampage the enemies. He took full linked shots carefully at the fairly big fighter. He was able to take one of the mammoths down when he picked up a tail. "Come get it!" the gunboat drifted around dodging fire and closing the space behind him. The Force pricked his senses then he quickly dumped half his laser energy into his shields. They came in time to absorb a full shot at his ships space, while the gunboat slipped behind the faster Tuscan. His shields collapsed, but offered the cover they had. The trick would barely work one more time, but the each shot drained the energy to pull the trick off. He had no tails. Hell broke loose on the fighter, and it died into shards of durasteel.
