This was the moment of truth; the moment that would decide the course of the rest of his working life. Petty Officer’s Tosth Aaaiser, Ph.D., entered the docking bay where his personal Chir’daki Starfighter was docked and stopped halfway to his ship. He had just received a mission from his former advisor that required him to go into the darks of the Unknown Regions. This mission was critical for the discovery of Killik nature and civilization.

Having just graduated from the University of Agamar in xenoarchaeology, began to question his choices over his entire life.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He could still picture the flames and deaths of his friends and family; the primal hate for the Quarren that destroyed his family and his future still ran deep in his blood. Honor and revenge had always been the driving forces behind all of the Petty Officer’s actions. The Quarren still had not paid for their destruction.

Fishhead knew this would be hard to accomplish, but after finishing his time at the University of Agamar, he understood the full capacity of the hate that the Quarren could actually hold for the Mon Calamari. Dac, his homeworld, was also the home of many other aquatic species, who, in the eyes of the Mon Calamari, were inferior species. This alone would have been enough reason to hate and launch attacks against the Mon Calamari for many, many species. But the injustice did not stop there. Not only were they considered inferior, the Quarren specifically were treated as essentially as slaves for the Mon Calamari ship manufacturing families. Their role in society was to gather resources so the Mon Calamari could build their renowned warships.

Tosth, in his childhood, had never understood this fact. His hatred had always been for the destruction of his family for an unjustified reason. But this was not the case. Slavery and an unsuccessful war campaign against the Mon Calamari made the attacks perfectly justified.

There was not an easy solution to this problem. The Quarren that had killed his family had not encountered justice by his hand yet, but the injustice in culture also had to be addressed. He had no way to fix this himself, for his family, though prominent, had lost all renown when they lost their manufacturing power. This was a fact of capitalism. There was nothing he could do regarding familial influence. The galaxy was also in too much turmoil for any galactic government to address these injustices. And the groups strong enough to address it all hated non-humans.
All except for one. The Vast Empire. His thoughts immediately jumped to his CO before he went on leave.

Wyl “Trick” Trykon. This man had been his Training Officer during his time at the Vast Empire Naval Academy. Even in a somewhat accepting splinter group of the Empire, there were still large levels of prejudice of non-humans, especially of species who had openly opposed the Empire. Trick had shown no prejudice against any of Fishhead’s kind found in the ranks of the Vast Empire.

But after having finished his training with special honors, and being immediately transferred into the Second Fleet and an operation at Belgaroth, he began to doubt himself. The deaths of the enemy’s forces had affected him greatly. He knew from personal experience just how much war and death could affect societies and especially families. This unsettling feeling he experienced while watching the deaths of the enemy’s naval officers caused him to reconsider his entire career. His thoughts jumped to the families of the deceased officers on all sides. He returned with the rest of the Second Fleet on the successful mission at Belgaroth, but it was after this mission he decided to fall into the reserves so he could take time to reconsider what had been done at Belgaroth all in the name of order and justice in a very splintered and chaotic galaxy.

Along with the promising companion and former crew member Kaminoan Atama So, who followed Petty Officer Aaaiser into the reserves. He first traveled back to Commenor to try and find his old employer to run spices throughout the galaxy. When he couldn’t find his former employer, he began to ask around and eventually found that the pirates had finally gotten the best of his other pirates and the debts had become too great. Knowing he had no way of avenging his employer, he decided to finish his studies in xenobiology and related fields. Atama So returned to Kamino, having no desire to pursue the xeno sciences with Aaaiser.

It was at this point where Aaaiser began to finish his studies at the University of Agamar. Over the course of a year and a half, he began to understand that war was an essential driving force of galactic and planetary survival and would always persist even if peace and order were achieved.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Petty Officer had finally made up his mind. War was essential to peace and order. People and civilizations must die in order to achieve this. The galaxy must be saved from the abundant chaos, corruption, and other horrors that exist. There was only one faction powerful enough to achieve this. The Vast Empire. It was time for a return to active duty and the ascension of empire and order.
He boarded the starfighter and a jump into hyperspace. His first action was to send a transmission to his old friend Atama So: It is time my friend. Your counsel and my personal growth have shown me that you have been right. Let us return to the Vast Empire and help bring peace and order back to the galaxy.

Moments later, a response: Short and clear. So it is. We shall meet in Tipoca City.

A few hours later, the old friends had been reunited and boarded Atama’s Nubian Yacht. Their next stop was Cerea.
Once there, they contacted the Vast Empire Navy’s Chief of Naval Training Ensign Hades to begin their journey once more into the glorious power and brilliance of the Vast Empire…

OOC:
Word Count: 1,007; This is my return to active duty story. Glad to be back.
