As it stands, things are slowly progressing. Just added in 2004. It seems to stand that 2004 was the year of rebuilding; the quality of prose in 2005 started to increase dramatically, coupled with the fact that there were only two VE canon stories posted in total.

Comnet V2 2001 stories are also up as of tonight.

And as for the overall track... While I'm compiling the data to finish this out... I do like Drac's idea of making this more of a dossier type page. With that in mind, I'm considering building a separate section with the official Fleet-wide stories, namely the post-2004 stuff, as most of the previous entries were minor squadron posts, possibly entailing tables with total posts by individual members and such.

Thoughts?  I, too, love the initiative, and the particulars so far.  I don't quite understand your question at the end of your last post, about a separate section... say more?

I think it's fine to have this page be mostly an archive/dossier-style list, but I would like to also eventually compile a short narrative version of the division's history, that covers the major plot events in a clear and concise way.  Again, that can happen AFTER we finish this project.

Until/unless Drac can get back, I'd rather have the project progressing slowly but surely, rather than frozen in time.  If at some point we want to revise how we're presenting the material, that's easier than collating all the material to begin with.

And I totally get feeling overwhelmed by a big wiki project.  Deputize people!    Is there a year I could do?

Updating the wiki in certain situations is important to me. To he honest, I just like doing it.

However, in situations like this, I like to get the info altogether before I do anything.

I'm about halfway done.  And I will be finishing.  But I have to prioritize story posts to wrap up Death, and the massive undertaking that is shinies/promos/rewards for a major story.  Plus, the Navy always needs structural tweaks, after a big story.  So, it is coming, just don't expect it super soon. 

Everything but 2006, 2012, and 2013 are now done. I'll be starting on 2012 shortly, provided no one else will claim it.

And I have drawn up a slight side project, which will be linked to on the timeline wiki page. This project is just a bit more detailed timeline, as I had mentioned in a previous post. It will essentially entail more detailed entries for each mission, separated by mission type (e.g, Fleet, Starfighter Squadron). I personally feel as if this is a natural supplement for the timeline itself, if for no other reason than to observe the evolution of the club.

Beyond that, cluttering the timeline with these details would push the timeline away from it's original purpose. Having supplements to refer to, though, is always a plus.

And Trick, with that in mind, I was thinking perhaps that the mission descriptions would be better placed there. We still leave the timeline itself the way it is, with writing the Naval Division's major history where he had it planned out. Other descriptions for the missions might well be located elsewhere.

If you want descriptions elsewhere, leaving a very basic, barebones timeline, that's okay with me.  One thing I DO want us to add to the timeline entries, though: links to the stories themselves.  Every story title, maybe, should be a link to the story named.  That won't add any length to the entries, but will add a LOT of functionality to this resource.

2006 should be done quite soon.

1) We should really come up with a bunch of keywords (or key phrases), that can be used in the "mission type" column.  Multiple per story, if they need more than one.

2) The icon for 7th Fleet stories should be the VENI maze icon, but they should be called 7th Fleet, to acknowledge that for a period of time there was such a thing.

In general, I think the single-post stories aren't "unit stories," so we shouldn't list the units the posters belonged to... most of the time, those are personal posts that for one reason or another became Navy canon.
