The main hangar bay of Platform Saratoga was glistening white, and was only interrupted by 12 or so recruits. The training officer, Stormz, and his executive officer, Bacredi, began looking at each other’s think pads. “Should we go down there?” Bacredi asked the training officer.

[[We will go out after Amacuse does.]] Stormz said, his Wookiee figure bellowing over Bacredi’s measly 6 foot.

“Got it,” Bacredi said, he reached forward onto the window, which sprung to life as a large, touch-screen datapad. He moved through staff rosters and landed on Master Chief Petty Officer Tavers. He pressed the name and was quickly routed to a com link.

“Okay, I’m going out now,” Cayden Taver’s voice rang through the observatory deck.

“Gotcha—we’re heading down now.” Bacredi ended the com and the window went back to being a window.

[[Let’s go.]] Stormz said, ducking as he went into the elevator. Most of the platform had already been re-done for his enormous figure, but some parts were cut off due to funding. Bacredi pressed the hangar level and they were there within seconds. All the recruits saluted and clucked their heels.

“Good morning, recruits.” Bacredi took a lead step, as he was instructed to do by Stormz. “I am Warrant Officer Second Class Zhar Bacredi, I am the Training Executive Officer, this here is the Naval Training Officer Krazanr. We will both be assisting you as you learn the ropes of the Vast Imperial Navy. You have already met Master Chief Petty Officer Tavers, he will be your main trainer while you are here. Any questions?”

He got nothing but silence.

“Today, all of you will be led by the Master Chief here, on an escort mission.” Bacredi said, he sow a row of uninterested faces looking back at him. “During the mission you will be facing three waves: all of them being commanded by Mr. Krazanr and myself, along with 10 other experienced trainers and vets around the academy. You will be escorting five GR-75s, and you may only let two be destroyed by us. You will be flying a mix of TIE fighters, interceptors, and bombers—it matters on who gets what simulators. Any questions?”

None, again.

“Dismissed.”

OOC:
Okay, here is how it goes:

Stormz and I will be flying X-Wing craft against the recruits.

The recruits are flying TIE Interceptors, Bombers, and Fighters. There are 4 of each, and when you choose, you can’t go back.

The first wave will be over after Stormz and I deem it over.

PS...name was totally random.

Master Chief Petty Officer Rocketman stepped off the shuttle on the platform Saratoga and went to the quarters that he was assigned.

Well this is a first been awhile since I have been here not since my time in the Academy. I can’t believe I am back here teaching people for that matter.

Rocket hears the familiar sound of his datapad going off and clicks the open button and reads the message.

----Welcome to the Academy----
---To Master Chief Petty Officer Rocketman: Trainer Level 1---
--From Warrant Officer 2nd Class Bacredi--TXO
-Subject: Escort Mission-

Hello there MCPO Rocketman or Rocket from what I have heard I sent this message to inform you that we have recruits and that you are need to help them with a mission, as the subject says it’s a escort mission you will be under the command of MCPO Cayden Tavers so if you need any help with anything please refer to him so that he can help you out. I have also lined out the mission objects and the type of fighter that you have access to in an attached file that will be sent to you shortly.

Hope that your time in the Academy is worthwhile
        WO2 Bacredi

----End Message----

After reading the message Rocket quickly got into his flight gear and ran towards the simulation room that they would be using. After reaching it he noticed that no one is around and decides to pick one of the simulators with controls a Tie Interceptor. After turning it on he began running his pre-flight checks after he was done with that he opened a squadron channel and said.

“Alright recruits this is Beta-two, now is the time to get ready for the task at hand form up on my wing and let’s start this mission.”

After sending the message out Rocket set it up so that it would play when the recruits had done all of the pre-flight checks to begin playing the message.

OOC:
Okay there it is when you post make sure to put your word number at the end of your post in an OOC Box, also try to aim for 300-500 words for your post once you put your post up someone will read it and tell you if you need to change anything. Make sure that you read the post before mine to understand what the mission is.
There are many aspects of the Force we have no knowledge of. The subject still requires further research and study.

Cayden walked onto the flight deck and smiled.  I love it when I'm the one giving orders... he thought as the recruits all stood in unison, snapped their heels, and saluted him.  "Good day, recruits.  I am Master Chief Petty Officer Cayden Tavers, callsign Amacuse.  Feel free to call me by my name, rank, or simply sir," he said, returning the salute.  The recruits quickly moved to parade-rest, and Cayden sighed.  If only they knew how ridiculous that looks... and my preference that they all be relaxed around me... oh well...  "You are currently standing on the Simulator Flight Deck of Training Platform Saratoga.  It is here where we weed out the boys from the men.  You're mission is one of dire importance to the Navy.  Executive Officer Bacredi and Commander Krazanr will be down shortly to give you the mission briefing."

"Sir, isn't that you're job?" one of the crewmen asked.

"Normally, yes... that would be the case.  But this is a special mission hand-picked by the Executive Officer himself, and he requested that he give the briefing personally," Cayden answered, smirking.  "I'll be waiting for you in the simulation."

The recruits all saluted and clicked their heels together.  He returned the salute, and walked over towards the simulators.  He grabbed his comlink and said "Okay, I'm going out now."

"Gotcha- we're heading down now" he heard the Executive Officer's voice say.

He smiled as he stowed the comlink in one of his pockets.  Again... way too damn formal... I'll have to discuss that with Stormz as soon as I get the chance... he thought as he opened the simulator in front of him.  He climbed in and turned it on.  "Frak... I'm flying a TIE/ln Starfighter... oh well, just means I'll be blind on my port and starboard.  And... I'll be slower, have rediced fire power and rate, and... be a bigger target to hit.  Excellent handicaps for myself," he said as he switched on the simulator and saw the diagnostics.  Alright... let's see what I have... shields, check... engines, check... weapons, check... life-support, check... ejection seat, check... and... targeting computer, check.  Everything seems to be in the green.  He put his helmet on and switched on the comm.  "Command, this is Raptor Lead, requesting permission to leave the hangar."

"Roger that, Raptor Lead.  You are cleared to leave the hangar," he heard over the comm.

"Thank you, Command," he said before closing the channel.  He switched over to the Raptor channel as he flew the fighter out of the hangar.  Alright... first priority is... locate the transports... second priority... locate the jump point... third priority... protect them at all costs he thought as he began scanning the space in front of him.  He was about to turn left when a large object crossed in front of his view.  "Oh... there they are... heh... almost hit them... THAT would have been a sorry way to lose..." he said as he identified the large object as one of the transports.

Wow... barely made the cut... heh... anywho, yeah... I got a TIE/ln Starfighter... haven't flown one of those since my days in the Academy... glad I didn't get a TIE Bomber... I'd cry... seriously, I think I would... it'd be too slow for me >.<

That makes three TIE/ln Starfighters, three TIE/In Interceptors, and four TIE/Sa Bombers remaining to pick.  I'd love to see someone pick a bomber... please, someone pick a bomber and make me happy!

When the opportunity to return to the Academy - no longer as a cadet but rather as an instructor - presented itself, Seth decided to go right for it. The thought of flying some more types of ships all the while avoiding the boring lectures was simply too appealing to the Onderonian smuggler. Besides, getting closer to the new recruits meant he would also be able to make more contacts or rather become a contact for them instead. Nothing like a little harmless contraband to help the greenhorns adapt faster to the Vast Empire's military life.

An escort mission huh?

The senior crewman sighed as he stretched his arms before him. He had already decided upon flying a Bomber for this mission. The GR-75 transport was quite slow after all so the Bomber's own fairly low speed would not be an issue. Furthermore, a Bomber was both sturdier and in certain ways more advanced than other fighters. For one thing the Bomber's sensors were stronger and thus capable of detecting enemy crafts faster. Then there was also the matter of being able to carry a lot more ordnance too. For the purpose of this particular mission Seth decided to go with the dozen proton torpedoes alternative. Nothing like being able to take out enemies before they can shoot back, and nothing like being able to do some serious damage to even small capital ships as well. In other words the Bomber was perfect for these types of escort missions where one never knew what he could expect the enemy to throw his way...

Seth would patiently wait in his chosen simulator cockpit for the recruits to also be briefed by the XO. He'd then wait for them to make their way to their own simulated crafts. Now whether they'd get a chance to actually choose what to fly or whether they'd just end up dealing with the scraps... well that was a whole different matter altogether. It would also prove to be a valuable lesson for them in the future - pilots have to not only be fast in the air but on the ground as well. Efficiency at all costs in other words. Now that sounded like quite a nice motto for the Raptor squadron. Heck, for the whole Navy even...

Seth was just in the middle of another deep, bored sigh when a green light finally began flashing on his cockpit. The crewman knew what it meant - all pilots could begin this newest simulation. In other words it was go time.

'Bout damn time!

That was the Onderonian's only thought as he quickly finished his pre-flight's checks and found himself in space. Well, simulated space anyway. A quick glance over the sensors and Seth realized that for the time being he was alone with... Cayden. The fellow lost a lot of respect from Seth and many of the other pilots having witnessed his sore loser's attitude back on Asteroid 19. Winning at all costs was definitely an useful trait when the objective was one of great importance. When it was done merely out of pride however - and royalty did have a lot of that to be sure - well, the end result was bound to just be petty even if successful...

"A regular Tie sir? Planning on impressing the cadets?"

The message was delivered across a private channel. Seth's slightly surprised and largely amused tone would also be rather hard to miss by the other Onderonian pilot.

Behold the bomber! Between the Interceptor, Bomber and regular Fighter however i'd say the latter is nastier than all. It lacks the Interceptor's speed and maneuverability and it lacks the Bomber's firepower as well. Better to excel at something rather than be average at everything.

This also means there are 3 Interceptors, 3 Bombers and 3 Starfighters left to choose from...

After the MCPO's short pre-briefing of the training simulation, Cruven was already anticipating this mission with great enthusiasm.  He stayed at attention awaiting further information of the mission from the MCPO as instructed.  As he was standing there he couldn't imagine what exactly this training mission was going to entail.

The Executive Officer approached the recruits and they instantly snapped to attention and gave the proper respect he was entitled to.  “Good morning, recruits,” the Executive Officer said to them.  It actually felt good to be addressed as a recruit, strange seeing as most people aren't exactly enthused when addressed as a recruit.

Feeling way too nervous to say anything, Cruven just stayed at parade rest and didn't utter a sound.

Today, all of you will be led by the Master Chief here, on an escort mission.  During the mission you will be facing three waves: all of them being commanded by Mr. Krazanr and myself, along with 10 other experienced trainers and vets around the academy. You will be escorting five GR-75s, and you may only let two be destroyed by us. You will be flying a mix of TIE fighters, interceptors, and bombers.:

Instantly Cruven zoned out and lost total attention to what the Executive Officer concluded the briefing with.

“WOW! I cannot believe my ears!” he thought to himself.  Cruven had already made up his mind that he wanted to pilot a TIE interceptor, and his anxiety couldn't have gotten the better of him.

The Executive Officer started walking away and Cruven was just hoping his zoning out there didn't cause him to miss anything important about the mission.  Now time to get to their simulators, Cruven practically ran right to an Interceptor's without the slightest bit of wasted time.  He wasn't about to let anyone beat him to it.

He briskly hopped in and strapped in, then took a quick look around the cockpit of this “craft” and was just amazed.  “I can't wait to actually be in a real one!” he said out out to himself.

“Do a good job here, and you will be soon enough,” said a familiar sounding voice.

Cruven sat for a few moments trying to remember who exactly that voice was attached to.  Suddenly it hit him, “Well hopefully I'll do a good job then sir!” he replied to the MCPO making sure to add that sir on the end out of respect.  “Amacuse is fine as I said in briefing, but feel free to call me whichever you prefer, now lets get started, and good luck! I'm sure you'll do just fine.”

OOC:

Sage Kalas, commonly referred to as Speed, wondered why she had chosen to go through the academy a second time. I should sign up for a head exam. How often does this happen? She asked herself silently. She had almost yawned before the appearance of certain officials had forced her to quickly stifle it. She saluted and clicked her heels with the rest of the recruits. Her attention, however, had been caught not by the man who was speaking, but by the rather large and furry presence behind him.

To Speed there was no mistaking that dirty blond fur or the almost cold blooded killer look about him. Her old flight leader had certainly not changed a lot in her absence. She almost smiled, and she most certainly relaxed more. He may not have recognized her, but Speed felt better about her decision to return to the academy for a refresher course.

Having listened with half a mind to the briefing given by the Warrant Officer, Speed knew what was expected of her, but now the stakes for her had changed. There was absolutely no way she was going to look like a fool in front of a former mentor and flight commander.

"Five GR-75's, only two allowed to be destroyed. We get bombers, interceptors, and fighters." Speed muttered to herself after the briefing was finished. She calmly and confidently made her way to an interceptor simulator.  Although she was more than familiar with all three models available to choose from, the interceptor was what she knew best.

She sat back in the seat and stretched for a moment. She smiled at the familiar surroundings, the smells and the sensations of being at the controls once again. Speed closed her eyes and shook her head. Why the hells did it take me so long to come back? She asked herself. Taking a deep breath she opened her eyes again and began her pre-flight checklist doing everything as though it were as second nature to her. She'd done this sort of thing before, but she hadn't wanted to show any of the other recruits up. Some of them were already over anxious as it was.

Pre-flight done she strapped in tight and pushed the flashing green button on her console The sim began immediately and Speed felt herself grin. "Not as good as the real thing, but as close as it gets for right now." She muttered to herself.

A check of her sensors told her that two others were with her. The fighter was the MCPO she knew, the bomber she was unsure of. She clicked through the squadron channel her readiness and let out a long breath. "Go time."

The Commander of the Naval Academy eyed up the vast list of ships available to him for this simulation. The Wookiee knew he didn't want to use a typical X-Wing. It was simply to cliche and obvious. He wanted a ship that was one-off, something that would strike fear into the rest of Raptor Squadon. So many ships to choose from, echoed through Ph'rranix's head as he continued down the list.

Finally, one of the ships stuck out at him. The Captain selected the ship and powered up the simulator, a gushing whirl of noise surrounding the wookiee as the electronics came online. Ah, yes, this will do nicely, continued the voice in his head. Stormz knew that the Besu'liik Starfighter was more than enough to take on the odds set forth against him.

Glancing at his radar, Stormz noticed a blip dancing on the outer edge of it. The commander turned his ship and boosted power to the sub-light engines. The blip quickly turned into another, and another. Soon, eight red dots were present, all lying directly in front vessel. Behind, and slightly left of center on his radar, a small blue marker showed where Bacredi, his XO for Raptor Squadron was in comparison to the Wookiee.

[I am going strraight forr the trransporrts, Blue,] informed the commander.

"Roger that, Stormz. I'll pop ahead of you and see if I can't take most of the fighters from you," came a quick reply. Suddenly, that same blue blip burst out from behind him and rocketed toward the cluster of enemy fighters. Upon closer inspection, Stormz noticed that the Warrant Officer had chosen the same ship as he, nice choice, Blue, he told himself.

Watching for a chance to get some lucky shots off, Stormz sat and hoped the fighters would take Bacredi's bait. Eerily, only a single pair of TIE Interceptors broke out of formation to chase Ph'rranix's wing man. [This just got a lot morre difficult,] Stormz belowed to Blue.

"Yeah, you're telling me. It's nice to see that Rocket and Cayden actually know what's going on though," replied the Training Executive Officer. "I'm going to take these two out, I'll be back on your tail in a jiffy."

[Rrogerr that. Make it clean,] Stormz replied. As his wing man began to deal with the interceptors that were chasing him, Stormz decided to break off his attack from the transports and deal with their only defense. Switching to Proton Torpedos, Stormz targeted and lined the lone Bomber in his reticle, waiting for the device to turn green. A moment later, the short bursts of beeps turned into a single, consistent beep that continued until the wookiee squeezed the trigger, sending a red ball of fire toward the easiest target in front of him. All of the ships broke out of formation, attempting to get away. For the bomber, however, he was a moment too late in reacting. The torpedo slammed into the bottom portion of the ship, slicing through the durasteel metal and exploding in the ordnance storage, causing a terrific explosion. The fireball, that was once a TIE Bomber, caught the port side panel of one of the interceptors, sending that ship into a wild spin, before the ship came back under control.

That looks like Speed's style, he contemplated. Green bolts streaking by the view port of the commander's ship made him snap back into reality. Banking hard to the right, Stormz pulled his ship around to face the middle GR-75 transport. The Behemoth of a ship engulfed Stormz' entire view. Instinctively, the wookiee pulled the trigger, releasing another pair of proton torpedos. He knew that the transport would never be able to get out of the in time, but he didn't have time to watch the fireworks. Besides, he knew a pair of proton torpedoes alone wouldn't be enough to disable a transport of that size.

As he pulled up, a light blinked at Captain Krazanr, indicating that a pilot had been able to obtain a missile lock on him. Before he could react, the blinking light and sound became another obnoxious continued beep with another light blinking. Amacuse had shot off a concussion missile. A quick roll, followed by release the chafe system made the missile detonate prematurely, doing no harm to the Wookiee's ship.

A couple more Interceptors popped up on scanners and Seth began questioning whether the VE Navy wasn't perhaps starting to overly depend on this particular fighter. Sure the Interceptor was fast, maneuverable, with a decent firepower as well... but to rely on it too much meant to also possibly risk the improvement of a pilot's skills. It was common knowledge that someone not constantly challenged would eventually begin losing his edge. It was simply inevitable really...

Back to the simulated action however, where formations were being created i order to help better organize and help deal with the task. There was nothing worse than rogue, individual action in a military organization. Not a regular organization at any rate. Now an elite group, preferably a small one however - well individual actions there could possibly be a whole different matter. Of course that meant that everybody involved would need to be highly intelligent, know very well how their teammates would likely react and also have a great deal of confidence in their own skills. Skills that for that matter should be way above the average. Such things obviously could not be found in a Navy training squadron. Individualism there was definitely a problem and never a solution.

"Bogie incoming, setting course to intercept!"

The Onderonian wasn't sure who said it, but was however sure that an enemy craft had indeed appeared on the scanners. Two Interceptors locked on to it and proceeded to engage. This in turn seemed to make the enemy craft rethink its actions as it began moving away from the targeted transports. Reasons Seth ignored it for the being were 1. he wasn't really in a position to follow it even if he wanted to given his fighter's crappy speed, 2. the Onderonian wasn't sure whether this wasn't by any chance a decoy especially since such a possibility was definitely there considering 3. a new enemy dot just began flashing on the scanners.

"Second enemy contact, 1 o'clock!"

Having finished reporting it, the Onderonian took position between the transports and the incoming craft. Seth's plan was of course a fairly simple one. Wait for the enemy to get closer, wait for a proper lock on, squeeze the trigger and let loose a couple of proton torpedoes. Simple yet effective... or so Seth thought. Thing is something however happened to not really go the way it was supposed to. For one thing, although his Bomber had a perfect line of sight all the way to the other Mandalorian designed craft, a proper lock on never came. Not even after the other craft sent its own torpedo his way the damn lock on still never came. No lock on, no torpedoes fired in retaliation either, which was frustrating enough for the Onderonian to not even bother trying any evasive maneuvers. Against a crappier ship firing lasers such things might've bought him some time, but against an incoming proton torpedo... well there was just no way a simple Bomber would be able to properly dodge it.

And so it happened that Seth found himself "dead". Quite annoying really especially since the cause was a damn technical malfunction. A malfunction or was the simulator perhaps rigged to ensure the brass would come out victorious? Having met and interacted with plenty of shady characters the thought definitely crossed the Onderonian's mind. Not like the Navy or military in general was perfect and everything. Hmm... I wonder about that. Anyways, seeing how his ship was history this meant the crewman's job was pretty much done. Also meant he could go ahead and file a report regarding the rather fatal glitch he just experienced. That was after all the proper thing to do in the military after all...

The shuttle touched down at the Vast Empire Naval Academy, and Qix shifted around in her seat. She was supposed to have reported in almost an hour and a half ago, but she couldn't have fit on the shuttle she was supposed to have arrived in. She unfastened her safety harness and made her way out of the shuttle. An impatient looking human in an Imperial uniform was waiting at the end of the boarding ramp. Qix approached the human, and handed him her datapad with her orders on it.

"So, you're the recruit we were missing." He paused for a second, "Crewman Qixo-- Qixol," He stopped frustrated.

"Crewman Qixolin'ilia Zanziminix'ou reporting sir. Most call this one Qix." She interjected to try and relieve the human of having to try and say her full name again.

"Okay Crewman Qix, your orders say you were to report here over an hour ago, what is the reason you are late?"

"This one had procured transport for the appropriate time sir, this one simply did not fit." Qix explained. "The only option this one had was to take this later shuttle."

"Didn't fit?" the Imperial paused. He took a moment to truly size Qix up. "I see, well your tardiness will be excused  for this one instance. During your time here you will be assigned to Raptor Squadron, they are currently in the simulator bay training. Go down that hallway and follow the signs, you can't miss it."

Qix arrived at the simulator bay, and gave a cursory look at all of the different pods. I wonder if anyone would mind if I came down here later and took some of these apart she thought to herself. She found a datapad left out that instructed any new recruits to pick a simulator and join the training simulation. She chose one of the larger pods, hoping it would have more room, settled herself inside and powered it up. As the instrumentation and viewing screen came to life she realized she was in a TIE Bomber.

"Bravo two reporting in." Qix said into the headset.

"Glad to have you aboard Bravo two," Came the reply over the headset. "Better late than never eh?"

Rocket lifts off and exits the hanger, and hears the radio go off saying that someone is trying to contact him privately. Rocket opens up the channel.

{Master Chief Petty Officer Rocketman, this is Warrant Officer 2nd class Bacredi.}
{Yes sir what is it.}
{You have been promoted to the position of Flight Leader for Beta Flight congratz.}
{I thought Amacuse was the flight leader?}
{He was, but he has stepped down from that position, so you are in charge of the recruits now.}
{Yes sir I will take this position with pride.}

After that the channel was closed. Rocket opens up the Squadron Channel.

{Okay listen recruits first I want you to break into your flights after that Deep you are in charge of Alpha Flight, your objective will be to guard the transports. Beta is gonna come with me and attack the enemy however you are not to go more than 5k from the transports.}

Rocket checked his radar to see if there was any enemy’s yet, and find that there is 6 six red dots on the screen.

{And remember stay with your wingmate.}

Rocket waits till Beta Flight has formed up and headed out to the enemy. Rocket gets to the first enemy and stats to shoot towards him, and finds out that the enemy is trickier than he expected. Rocket opens a channel to his flight.

{Okay break formation stay with your wingmate try to lead them back towards Alpha I know what I said but things change.}

Rocket attacks the enemy fighter and then stops his ship and turns around back towards the Alpha Flight, and he opens a private channel to Deepsix.

{Hey we are coming in hot there were a lot more than I thought we are leading them towards you so make sure that your flight is ready.}

With that Rocket takes off towards the transports.

Back on Coruscant, Xanthros was grabbing his bags and uniforms getting them ready for a shuttle for preparation for his entrance into the Imperial Navy Academy. Rummaging through his bag he put his uniform and clothing as well as cleaning supplies in there slots. Checking his list he made sure he had everything for departure the Imperial Liaison Officer had given him instructions what to have and where to meet. Zipping up his bag with uniforms inside Xanthros gave himself a look at a mirror provided him being at his parents house. He walked down from the bathroom and into the living room and wished them his pleasantries and goodbyes. After giving them hugs and farewell kisses Xanthros left his parents and life of a civilian behind him and was now entering a life of the Imperial Navy.

Entering the vehicle that had stopped for him, he sat inside placing his bags and articles to the side. Watching the vehicle depart and his parents house zoom by there was the past and here was his future. Taking a deep breath Xanthros had a lot of thoughts of what he might do and where he might go with his career in the Imperial Navy. Giving it some thought while the vehicle traveled he thought of himself as a pilot or maybe a capital ship leader. There was many avenues for him to pursue, in either piloting, leading, training or instruction. In the future while endeavoring with leadership the paths at were ultimately endless.

After the vehicle had reached a stop. Xanthros took his bag with uniforms in hand and data pad ready and entering the star port. The Imperial Liaison Officer was there to greet him. “Hello Xanthros Malfoy, welcome to the Imperial Navy, and to the Vast Empire, you will start your training in the Imperial Navy Academy and work with our Training Officers while you are there for the mean time I will analyze your paperwork and have you proceed to the Imperial Shuttle for waypoint with the Raptor Squadron. Once again Congratulations and Welcome Aboard.” Xanthros smiled and took the orders with him.
Leaving the Starport and entering the shuttle, Xanthros sat in one of the seats the dock officer pressed one of the buttons and waited for clearance. The shuttle then released its landing gear and started its ascent with the coordinates provided the shuttle left orbit then shot off to hyperspace.

Looking at the stars Xanthros took the moment to understand what his new career would be and how much he was about to undergo and who he was to meet and what friends and allies he might meet along the way. As the stars passed he went into a deep sleep then started dreaming while the shuttle continued its hyperspace travel to Raptor squad. Hours had passed the shuttle had disengaged hyper and Xanthros could see a Platform in the Distance, Its designation Saratoga. The shuttle entered a descent onto the station giving the landing clearance and codes for entry. The platform doors opened and the shuttle entered.

After arriving Xanthros taking his gear and looking around saw many imperial personnel and storm troopers walking around taking names and assigning duties. A imperial officer walked up to Xanthros. “Greetings Imperial Citizen, this is Platform Saratoga and I am 2nd Lt Gates, if you have your orders already and if I may I will analyze them and proceed you to your next area.” The imperial officer remarked then reached out with his hand, “Here are my orders sir, I am to be assigned to Raptor Squad, here at Platform Saratoga.” , “Well I’ll have you know they are currently in training right now and you have arrived a little late but you can get into the training with them there is a simulation area down at tango five. Take the vehicle here and it will zip you down there. Long live the Empire!” The imperial officer remarked then gave Xanthros back his orders. Jumping on the vehicle it strolled on by the imperial officer and the storm troopers walking by.

Arriving at tango five, Xanthros entered the simulator room. Entering he sat in one of the simulator rooms and put on a helmet with a environment set up. Then the scenario lit up. Xanthros was in a Tie fighter and had been assigned to alpha flight. There were new orders coming in from group lead. A group of transports was on scanner and there primary role was to protect it.

As the View screen Illuminated and the room went from dark to a red darkish blue Xanthros was now in the midst of a Tie fighter cockpit. He could see out of the viewport window fighters in squadrons heading in there designated attack patterns then making there switching his scanners he could also find his own group alpha. The target in primary a group of transports seeing them on his scanners and laying low with alpha team to protect them from enemy fire he remained cautious while vigilant. Looking at the scanner there was a few blips that could be recognized these of course being the imperial group as well as platform Saratoga in the distance. Making a communication frequency to his team Xanthros opened the channel, “Orders received following transports weapons ready, scanners set for parameter sweep all systems go.”

As his tie fighter continued with the alpha team, Xanthros watched a nearby imperial flight team pass by beta as its designation. There role to attack the enemy blips on scanners. Xanthros had detected a group of them out in space. Staying with the transport he grabbed his pilot joystick and remained steady analyzing the transport movement keeping his ship within movement of the transport. Beta team had crossed into space with fighters in chase they were in hot pursuit. But this time the enemy fighters did a different role entirely changing there flight pattern after being attacked by beta and proceeding to the transports. Xanthros watching this moved with alpha team while keeping his hand over the blaster button. One of the enemy fighters broke off from the enemy flight heading straight for the transports in pursuit for alpha team. Heading with two of the fighters Xanthros primed his weapon and scanning the enemy let the enemy make the first shot and sweeping his way out from the fire shot.

Alpha team still protecting the transports, and Xanthros with another fighter they pursued the enemy fighter as it went hot and heavy towards the alpha team. Letting the enemy fighter pull in Xanthros motioned to his team and gave beta the coordinates to the enemy fighter. Moments later the fighter was smothered with blaster fire from both beta and alpha teams. Xanthros watched the explosion from the viewport while sitting in his cockpit then grabbing the controls he proceeded back with alpha team. As the tie fighter flew through space Xanthros watched the stars pass and could only hear his ship and that of others. There was low communication frequency from both alpha and beta teams coming in on his terminal but he was more concerned with the safety of the transport. Checking his scanners another fighter coming in but this time Rocketman on view screen with beta flight.

Sending out a friendly communication Xanthros relayed to the beta team leader, “good to have you with us, and thanks for the heads up on the enemy fighters I don’t know where they came from but that sure surprised me.” Xanthros replied cutting communications and continuing his flight with alpha team.

“Good morning, recruits," said a man as he stepped forward.

K'haeth, along with everyone else, remained silent.

“Today, all of you will be led by the Master Chief here, on an escort mission," continued the man.  Though most mind not find anything interesting in an escort mission, K'haeth still held on to a sense of duty for this simulated duty.

TIE Bombers? the young cadet wondered.  What use would a bombing craft have in such a situation?  Unless they were going to bring corvettes, or maybe something large.

“Dismissed," the man ended.

K'haeth turned and first watched to see where the rest of the pilots were going.  The majority of them moved toward the TIE Interceptors.

Fast means dangerous.

A few others went for the more classic TIE Fighter.  That craft held a good balance between speed, maneuverability, and firepower.  But he noticed that so few actually went for the slow, bulky, bombers.  And that is how he decided.

He made his way to the bomber simulator.  He stepped in, and shut the door.  As the door shut, the simulator came to life, lighting up with a comfortable glow.  They were in a hangar, preparing to take off.

He ran a quick check of all systems.

SFS P-s4 twin ion engines: Operating at 98% efficiency
SFS I-a2b solar ionization reactor: Fully functional
Hull: No damage detected
SFS S-c3.4 multi-range TAG: Operational
SFS T-s7b targeting computer: Fully functional
Nordoxicon bomb sight: Operational
SFS N-s4 Navcon: Operating and synced with SFS S-c3.4 multi-range TAG
All weapons systems fully operation.
Payload at 100%
Life Support System fully operation.

As expected, everything was operating as it should be.  His finger darted to the glowing console in front of him, activating his com-link to the squad leader.

"This is Beta-4, callsign Zealot, in TIE Bomber TIEB-004, reporting ready for launch," he said, trying to keep excitement from his voice.

The bomber console lit up, showing that the wing was preparing to deploy.  With a few deft movements of his fingers, the large TIE Bomber began to lift from the ground.  The simulator shook to emulate the slightest bit of motion from the vehicle.  K'haeth followed as the ships in front of him began to pull from the hangar.

Immediately upon leaving the hangar, the ships pulled up and began their patrol of the vessels they were escorting.  A smile crept across K'haeth's face as he prepared for combat.

Weir looked at his Watch function on his Datapad
"Damn, I'm gonna be late" he thought ashe was dashing to the Hangar, saluting officers on the way.
This was his first Simulation and he wanted to make it his best, he had some experience from the Korribinian Police Force, but much in the TIE/In.
As he hurriedly walked into the room he saw a few Crewman getting into ships and off in space he saw Squadronmates about to encounter enemy forces.
"Hello sir, sorry im late." he reported to the Highest ranking individual in the Hangar, then ran to his TIE/In Simulator.
He jumped in, closed the cockpit door, and turned on all systems. And a system report popped on the Viewscreen.

Targeting Computer: 93% Efficient
Armament: 92% Efficient
Scanners: 100% Efficint
Senor Jammers: 98% Efficient
Engines: 100% Efficient

"Very good, now lets see what the guys are doing" he thought while turning on a Secure Comlink Transmission between the Squadron and himself.

"B-2 Reporting in!" he said into the Comlink
And with that, he lifted off and raced after his Squadron, the Battle was on.

Once Rocket reached the transports he started to plan on how to precede, he opened up the squadron channel and said, “Alright I wanted them away from the transports, but that is not possible now, so stay with your wingman and take out those fighters.”

Rocket pulled his fighter behind one of the enemies and got a lock on the fighter and launched a missile at it and saw that it hit and took it out, after that Rocket looked at his scanners trying to see what was all happening around him and his squadron. He saw twelve green tags and a lot of red tags. Great we are outnumbered this is just great well what can I do to try to save this mission. I can keep Alpha by the transports and get Beta to try to lead some of them away but that might not work. Fine I guess I will just plane as I go along which I don’t like doing, but I guess it will have to do for now. Rocket opens up the squadron channel and says into it, “Alright Beta try to lure them away from the transports.”

Rocket opens up to Beta Flight Leader DeepSix and says, “Its Rocket look we are outnumbered and outgunned I want you to try to take as many of them out as you can before they can regroup I will try to keep the ones that didn’t follow you off the transports hopefully that will work if not I will come up with something else.”

Rocket opens Alpha channel and says into it, “Alright people we need to keep those fighters off the transports so that they can try to get away, so I am giving you permission to use any means capable of taking those fighters out so that we can cover while the transports get away.”

Rocket links up with his wingmate and flies towards the nearest enemy and engages

The explosion glimmered across the area of Space, Rocket had taken one enemy down.
"Nice one" Weir said in the Comlink

Now it was Weir's turn to get a "Kill"
He swerved the TIE fighter away from the transport to draw off fighters, all the while routing his Targeting Computer on an X-wing.
He couldn't believe his luck, the X-wing broke formation and came after him.
While weir was waiting for the Fighter to get into range, he took a quick scan of everything else happening, it seemed the blunt of the fighting was near the transport.

The X-wing crept into range near the Transport.
"Fire" Weir thought as he pulled the trigger to launch a Missile.

The projectile danced through the Stars as it swerved to hit the enemy.
"BOOM!"
The sound ricohed across space.

Weir grinned to himself as he flew back to the Transport.

Recruit Kazack was unused to the Imperial Naval Academy. Sometimes, it felt like jail. No there were no stun cuffs or energy cages. But their was a state of the art security and ID system. But Kazack knew it was all in the name of his protection. To make sure no unwelcome visitors came in. Kazack had been on the computer terminal for some time researching the history of the Vast Empire Navy. In particular, he was interested in the battle of Lehon. All he had  managed to acquire on that topic was that it had been a defeat for the VE Navy. It appeared as though some of the recruits were headed to the simulator. Kazack looked at the clock. "Damn I'm supposed to be their now" he said jumping off the chair he was sitting on. WIthyout even bothering to switch off the computer he swiped his ID card across the door and it slid open.

Kazack quickly walked down the hall, nodding to the other recruits as he passed. "Sir, sorry for being late!" Kazack said as he opened the door to the simulator. He quickly got the officer's nod of the head before venturing into the hanger. He quickly grabbed a Tie Fighter before, firing up the engines and flying out of the hanger. He saw the brunt of the simulation battle occurring near the transports.

"If I can get over their now, maybe I can outflank the attackers"he said to himself, and headed over to join the main battle.

Weir smiled as he saw another TIE Fighter pop out of the hangar.
"The more the merrier, just don't get shot down, because I don't want to drag your butt out of your cockpit!" Weir said jokingly into the Squadron Comlink.

Weir veered his Fighter to the left to avoid the laser fire from one of the X-wings. He fired off a short burst at one of the enemy and a few bolts struck, but he didn't score a "Kill".

"Damnit, I almost had that one." Weir thought as he spun around and went to the fighter that had exited the hangar.

"Dont worry Wier, I plan on sticking around long enough to survive until im at least sixty-four" Kazack replied, in response to the comm. Kazack realized that he had been spotted when an X-Wing broke off the battle with the TIE escorts and began a sweep through the simulated space towards him.

"Damn, Ive been spotted," he muttered under his breathe. Kazack immediatly spun away from the X-wing and tried to shake it. The fighter went right with him and Kazack realized just in time that the X-Wing was firing lasers at him. He dived and attempted to avoid them, but it wasn't enough to stop one of the lasers. It hit the back of the cockpit.

Fortunatly, these days even Tie Fighters were equipped with shields. The ship buckled slightly but the shields held. The X-Wing was still on his tail and by the looks of things was calling in reinforcements. " Kazack moved to squadron channel and called into the comm. "If someone could keep those off my back while I get rid of the X-Wing"

"Jeez, I told him not to die on me" Weir thought, looking out of the cockpit at the X-wing on Kazack's tail

Weir swerved his TIE around and started trailing the X-wing, he fired a few bolts and got his Targeting computer locked on the enemy.

He pulled the missile trigger, launching the rocket at the enemy.

"Oh god..." Weir said wide-eyed, after he saw that the Targeting computer locked on Kazack.

"Kazack! Start evasive manuvers, I locked a missile on you by accident!! I'll come in and think of something." he shouted into the comlink, as he watched the Missile rocket towards kazack.

"I have to do this now...." Weir thought, putting the TIE in full speed shooting ahead of the missile and slowing down. "I'm taking this shot for you kazack.." and those were Weir's final words as the Missile struck his TIE, exploding, also destroying the X-wing that was previously behind them.
____________________________________________________________

Weir took a huge sigh as he exited the TIE simulator.
"Well...I think I did pretty good sir" he reported to the Simulation observer.

Weir then took a seat next to the Observation Post in the hangar and started watching the rest of the battle.

"Weir!" Kazack shouted as he saw the missile which he had locked onto him by accident hit Weir. Damn, Id better thank him when I get out of this Kazack thought before turning back to the main battle.

Flight Beta was attempting to draw the enemy towards flight Alpha, who were still protecting the transports. Suddenly an X-Wing broke formation and attempted to attack the transports. Kazack leaned his vessel to the right until he managed to get the X-Wing in his sights. "A little more, A little More" Kazack whispered as he willed the X-Wing into his laser sights. Fire! Kazack thought and pulled the trigger. Six laser bolts smashed into the X-Wing and caused his shields to fail. "Damn, I nearly had him" Kazack thought and swerved to avoid the X-Wing's return fire.

Ok......DarkWalker thought to himself.

After listening to the briefing that was gave by MCPO. DarkWalker headed towards one of the Tie Bombers. Settling himself into the cockpit he began his preflight checklist. The board showed all green.

Hope this isn't a trick by the sim ops.

Fighter Control. This is Alpha two.  Ready for Take off.

Alpha two... Fighter Control....Cleared for takeoff.  Good hunting Alpha two.

Advancing the throttles to full power. DarkWalker rocketed out of the hanger bay. Hoping to catch up to his wing-mate. After a quick check of his screens. He noticed that he had some catching up to do. As Alpha 1 was trying to intercept an incoming enemy fighter.
Alpha 1 this is Alpha 2  over.

Forming up now. Closing in on Alpha 1 was not an easy task. The way Alpha 1 was maneuvering it would take all of his skill as a pilot to do so.  What little skill he had anyway.

Weaving in and around the GR-75's. DarkWalker tried to get a targeting lock on the incoming fighter.  Alpha 1 get out of there!    DarkWalker screamed. Seeing the incoming torpedo and not knowing if his wingman would dodge in time. After watching his wing-man die. DarkWalker threw his tie onto its left wing. In an attempt to keep from being locked up himself. Banking a full 360 degrees he tried for a lock on again after rolling back level.  Come on, Come on lock up already.  Target lock acquired......  Torp away. Watching the torpedo track its target gave DarkWalker a giddy feeling until he looked at his screens. Noticing that his torpedo had not locked onto the incoming fighter, but instead had locked onto a large chunk of debris.  Crap

Reengaging the fighter  that had just launched a pair of missiles into the nearest GR-75. DarkWalker got a target lock on. This time launching a pair of torps at the incoming fighter. DarkWalker hoped for a hit. But couldn't worry about it right now. As another x-wing was streaking in to make a gun run on the same gallo. DarkWalker locked it up with his targeting computer and launched a missile at. DarkWalker watched as the missile exploded brilliantly in between the s-foils on the right hand side. The x-wing went spinning off into space.
Thats one down...... DarkWalker said into the Com.
