Congratulations to our newest Wing Commander, 2nd Lt. Jaden!

For those of you who don't know Jaden, though he stops around here and there, he's actually a former wingman of mine.  He was with me when Denethor (your current NCC) was running Kaph Squadron: the only squadron in the Navy at that time.  Since then he's ran several squadrons, XO'd a few others and dabbled in the CSS.  It's my honor to present you with my good friend, Jaden.  I have great faith in his ability to lead you all, and I hope you'll show the same generous nature that he shows you

Also, Drac has been appointed as the new commander of Nightshrike!  This is, for all intents and purposes, a promotion and position change worthy of note.  We've been watching Drac for a while now, and it's only appropriate that he get his chance at running his own fighter group.  So I hope you'll join me in congratulating Drac (and Jaden) on their new assignments, and help them feel welcome in their new roles.  Congratulations to the both of you

Second, Hunter, Cali, and now Drac, if you guys stick around long enough, you can become the next NCC. :P

Stewart, its obvious you're going to be Beta Flight's FL, which'll leave Gamma with no FL and still the need for an XO. (of course, I hope its you Stewart)

My thought was that the job of map/coord making/changing could be delegated to the XO?

This whole bit, though, was an attempt to really set down, in stone, the idea that "planning" is only on a mission level.  All other CD and personal touches should be planned between the individual members, not necessarily from the SC or XO.  I know we've done a lot of stories like that, and probably still are, but I'd like to see what happens when we encourage the plots to develop on their own.  Just some thoughts though.  Glad you like the random wiki pages, Cali, lol

Mm, I think I first thought of it when we were trying to do a wing story a few years back.  We had the numbers and the interest, but it was really tough to keep information straight.  This, I think, is a more evolved idea of that original thought?  I invite other folks to modify the format as they see fit, btw; just let us know what and why- maybe we'll use it as well.

(Edit: Jaden- never call me Shazo again, lol.  Shaz I can deal with- sounds a bit like wet carpet, but alright.  Shazo, though, sounds like a failed party clown from Europe who's trying to make it big but is failing, once again, in downtown LA.  Shazam or Shaz will do, lol)

The maps might be best made by whomever in the squadron has the enthusiasm and ability to do so. Not everyone has graphics skills, so allowing anyone to volunteer for the job, so long as they're active and plugged into the story, would probably garner the best results for the squadron. It would also open up another avenue by which young pilots could prove their worth. Amacuse and his work on Tuk'ata's emblem is a similar example.

And that's a great comment, Drac.  I guess I was just assuming (in the event no person was known) that it could be a good thing to delegate to the XO who, unless otherwise stated, is seen as a "partner" to the SC.  A specific duty is sometimes nice.

Current Javelin Wing Agenda

*Javelin Wing Wiki Page: I've been trying to work on it myself, but as most of you already know, my wiki skills are lacking. Logistics, if you could please take some time to get things organized as far as graphics, I would gladly provide information.

*Squadron Stories: Cali, Drac, I know both of you have been working on presenting a joint-op for Rhegent's Reign and Tuk'ata. I want to see this organized and on the move within the next week, if possible.

*Roster- I've got things where they should be for now, aside from a few side notes that should be coming into play once we get a recruit or two through the training process.

Aside from those, I will address this issue. We have lost a handful of pilots in the new shift of squadrons. I understand this is a negative pull on the SFC, but it had to happen. Sometime soon we should start focusing on recruitment, but until then, lets try and do what we can with what we have.

Bad Stuff- I'm going to be re-implementing the AWOL penalties. Go AWOL, lose a rank. As well as this, a post requirement may also be put into effect. Squadron Commanders, start making sure that you include how many posts your pilots are making in your reports.

Jaden, let us know what you want on the page, and we'll see what we can do.

I updated the squadron info box a bit. Moved all the "other" info up to General Info, and the member list down to "Current Roster". Also added the wing, TF, and fleet assignments.
