SITREP - 10th January 2010

Ok, so the stage is set, the play can begin, here are the general guidlines for each squadron when entering this story for the first time.

Nazgul Squadron: You are on the Strike-class Cruiser Rising Sun, in a nearby system. By this point, you've already received the emergamncy system and are en route.

Whoever posts first can start either in transit, but almost there, or just arriving. You'll arrive close to Viper Squadron's freighters, and the two groups will sortie to try and disrupt the New Republic invasion force.

Remember, you know nothing about Viper or why they are in system, you only know they're there. Please don't dwell on that.

Viper Squadron: We start off on the Freighter Nothing to See Here. We're in our normal TIE Interceptors. Realistically, we wouldn't do anything until Nazgul arrives, so make your actiosn include them so they can sink up with you.

Feel free to deal with the events covered in the first post Vipers, but don't dwell. That stuff is merely a preamble and not the focus of the story.

Please, do not write in enemy forces above our means. We are 2 Fighter squadrons and one capital ship. The total New Republic force is larger that that, but it's scattered and rushing towards different targets. Fight in 'waves' please, and keep i realistic.

Atrasin will jump in later with the rest of the task force so we can have a larger fleet engagement. For now, keep it simple.

Oi, I object to not getting my Avenger! I wasn't even there for Sarek, my Avenger is sitting safely in Atrus' hangers! I want to know why Viper gets the better hardware! Lol

Tie/In Are Interceptors right? We're flying the same craft numnuts :P

Don't worry, Ibram. Personally, I blame the Army for not wanting to share. We'd fly those Hunters better than they could on their best day.

I advised Siri to reserve a spot earlier today, and so I apologise for the hold up.

Sorry about the mixup between /in and /ln I was reading on my iPod touch, and couldn't tell that it was an i and not an l. I wasn't zoomed in enough to tell that closely, and was assuming because that is the fighter I flew before I flew an Avenger, I've never flown an interceptor, and didn't think that it might be what we were given, my bad.

I just wanted to do some CD for Hunter Else I would of moved us along

Hey guys, just a quick point...

Now that we're engaging the NR, try and get w/your Wingman and coordinate your battles.

You can fight in EITHER space, the atmosphere, or both.

Use the mining platforms as cover or as stationary weapons.  Use the planetary defenses (Cloud Cars) as allies or as foes (remember, they think WE blew up the city)

Do shorter (800-1200 word) posts that convey a sense of the speed of the Dogfight.

Those of you w/NPC Wingmen, don't kill them immediately...let the fight be EPIC.

Rembember to use the Academy resouces to put some technical pizzaz into your posts. just don't over do it, and make these the best fights EVER!

I should, hopefully, be able to put up a post this afternoon about our squadrons linking up.

Note to the new guys: Just because someone wrote someting, doesn't mean their character said it. Paying close attention to which character said what will help you avoid contradictions.

coming soon: Driver w/the Ferrum Umbra (Corvette), the Tiamut(Carrier) and 4 NPC Squadrons flying TIE/in

THEM:
one (1) Nebulon-B frigate

7 NR VETERAN Squadrons flying X's, A's, B's and E's...some Y's bombing the mining platforms

1 'Dummy' NR Squadron flying TIE/in w/a non-standard paint job...you can tell they're not US, but not easily


WE are BADLY outnumbered. We WILL most likely LOSE this fight, and A LOT of pilots. However, your job is to take out as many of theirs as you can before you go down.

You are fighting NR VETS, not amatuerish locals. They are every bit as good as you or better, flying equipment as good or better than what you have. Remember this...no God-Modding make it believable.
