“This uniform is kriffin hot!” Havock rolled her eyes as Decembrist tore his helmet off and wiped beads of sweat off his forehead. “I'm sweating in places...” He glanced up at the faces that had turned to him. “I'd be happy to show any of you ladies.”

Aeos slapped his arm. “You'll be thankful for that heat on the planets surface.”

The squad was seated in two rows facing each other on the Sentinel Class Transport, jammed in with two other squads on their way to the icy planet of Arkania. They were all decked out in pearly white snowtrooper armor. Havock knew that RAIDERS had trouble keeping their white uniforms clean. Usually they returned chipped, gray, caked in mud, with streaks of red from blood which was not always their own.

Rampage squad seemed to be a group of serious troopers. They sat in silence awaiting their arrival on the planet. Dagger Squad, on the other hand, were loud and making jokes with each other across the aisle. A couple were playing catch with what Havock really hoped wasn't a live grenade.

Shaking her head she got back to reading the information they had on the planet. The funny thing about it was, she had read all of this information before. They had been slated to go to this very planet when they crashed on that nightmare of a place just a short while before. The planet had been full of some pretty terrifying monsters that only seemed to be interested in killing stormtroopers.

“Tell me why he is with us again?” A very familiar voice growled from next to her.

“Jae, I thought I told you to relax.” Havock glanced down the row to the person the ASL was referring to. Just before they launched she had been informed that they were getting a retired veteran joining their ranks for the mission. 2nd Lieutenant Kanderin Draken was sitting looking at his medical supplies with bored interest. “And anyways, whats the harm of another medic? After all, you know our reputation. Geeze, we gave Karash a nervous breakdown.”

“Yea, I guess you're right. Something about it I just don't like.” She shook her head. “But I'll relax, okay, you don't have to say it again.” Havock smirked and sat back in her chair.

Njall kept watching the squad of rowdy demolitions troopers nervously as he double checked his gear. They had launched from the VSD Dominion just a short while ago, they would be in transit for a while longer and everyone looked flushed from the hot armor and eager to get the mission underway.

“How much longer, Hav?” The red-head next to her was sitting back with her eyes closed and arms crossed, resting her head against the durasteel wall of the transport.

Havock clicked off her datapad and turned towards the voice next to her. “Not much longer Bright, then we get to go dash through the snow in a sled.”

Brightstar popped a single eye open and looked at the squad leader oddly before shaking her head and returning to her resting state. Havock shrugged and glanced at the two men on the other side of Jaenna whose voices were steadily getting louder.

“Nosa, mesa lika the A280.” Grahim pointed to an image on his datapad.

Demented shook his head in obvious frustration. “You're serious. You think that an A280 is a better rifle than a DC-15, that DC-15 with all the upgrades. I mean look at the specs froggy.”

“Looky hisen, A280 bombad rifle. I can tello yousa all about them-sa.”

Havock scooted to the edge of her seat and twisted so she could see both of the troopers. “I think thats enough rifle talk boys.”

They both blinked and looked at Havock before muttering 'yes ma'am' and stubbornly collapsing back into their seats. Jaenna smirked at her as she returned to her position on the seat. They both rolled their eyes and she turned her datapad back on. The last thing on her mind was trying to rest before the fun really started.

“Jae, I thought I told you to relax”

“Yea, I guess you're right. Something about it I just don't like. But I'll relax, okay, you don't have to say it again.”

Despite the Assistant Squad leader saying that she’d relax, her eyes stayed glued on the blue eyed man she once respected as a Squad Leader. Things had happened and they hadn’t happened smoothly, causing not only the thoughts that were once good about Kanderin Draken to more or less disintegrate, but the respect that Jaenna Caldwin had for the man was dwindling. Of course, due to respect for other members and to save her own hide, she wouldn’t openly voice her distaste for the fact that the man was in the same shuttle let alone coming along with the RAIDERS and the two other squads in the Cresh on this campaign. The idea alone sent chills of anger down Jae’s spine. But again, she wouldn’t voice it, she’d let it simmer, and use her anger in whatever battle they came to in the field.

Taking a deep breath, her eyes finally unlocking themselves from the form of Kanderin, she looked towards the Rampage Squad, completely ignoring the fact that the Gungan and the Ex-pilot were arguing about rifles. The Rampage squad caught Jae’s attention quite well. Their serious attitudes, their shiny snow armor, the way they all seemed so calm and yet so… ready for the battle that the troops would surly run into once they finally landed on Arkania. They seemed like they’d be the ones trying to take control of everyone in the shuttle. That, of course, wouldn’t fly with Jaenna. But then again, who was she to make those sorts of assumptions? Their seriousness was good and well sought after when it came to the Army. Poor Jegora had, after all, been dealing with WildCard Platoon and their rambunctiousness. So it was obvious to Jaenna that sending Rampage Squad out with the ‘Crazy RAIDERS’ was an idea that sat well with the Sergeant Major. Jeg had said that everyone in that re-briefing session in the hanger of the Dominion was elite. So it there was no doubt that the Rampage troopers were of those elite that Jeg had spoken about.

’With our luck, they’re going to come in handy rather quickly.’ The thought streamed through Jaenna’s head and she allowed her eyes to sift through the compartment of the shuttle some more, taking in more of her surroundings. She saw Havock tell off the Gungan and Ex-pilot finally and smirked at the woman as she came back towards her seat next to Jaenna. They broke eye contact after playfully rolling their eyes at each other as Jae, once again, had decided to peer down at her datapad.

Trying to get some good info about the ‘Trade City’ of Arkania was proofing a bit more difficult than she would have liked. If Jeffery was with her, he’d be able to slice into her datapad and get pretty much all of the information. But no… the poor Slicer Bot was down for the count due to somebody getting annoyed and kicking the poor thing’s ass.

A soft grumble rolled about in Jae’s throat as she was typing a bit harder than was probably necessary on her datapad. Her knuckles were white frustration and her right foot was tapping the ground, sending the echo of snow boot on steel throughout the cabin area. She was beginning to get a few looks, but caring about attention wasn’t on her mind right now. The gal was frustrated with the idea of her Slicer Bot being destroyed, being in the same ship as Kanderin, and being in this godforsaken hot Snowtrooper armor. Today was not Jae’s best day.

A voice rose slightly and she almost ignored it, before she realized it was Havock’s. Only then did she sigh and look up at the blue eyed woman she was so madly in love with, her foot still tapping on the steel floor. “Babe, come on now. Try and calm down.” Havock placed a hand on the knee of the leg whose foot kept tapping, trying to stop it. The Squad Leader's eyes were soft and caring, and yet the tapping foot continued to tap.

Jae shook her head and scoffed, looking back to her datapad. "I'm trying, you know that. It's a little difficult though." She lowered her voice, now speaking a hushed one, so that only Havock could hear her. "The last three campaigns we've went on have been complete disasters. That doesn't exactly make me look at the future of this one with GREAT expectation." Jae's eyes were focused on her datapad. She wasn't typing, or even looking at what was on the screen. She was just staring past the screen at the reflection of her face on the shiny surface of the thing. Those bright sea-foam had grown so cold since she had joined the Imperial Army. It worried her.

"I know, Jae. But please... Just try and calm down. For me?"

The tapping stopped, and Jae closed her eyes, cutting off the view of the monster that was called her reflection. "Fine." The word was simple and sounded cold, but Jae knew that Havock would be happy with at least that.

"Thank yo- HEY! Do you troops mind not throwing that around?" The Squad Leader shouted as the grenade that the Dagger Squad had been tossing around fell and rolled to a stop underneath one of the benches in the cabin area.

"Our bad, beautiful. No need to get those pretty little panties in a bunch." A trooper with shaggy blonde hair said as he waved his hand in the air with a nonchalant look on his face.

Jaenna decided it'd be best to stay quiet, otherwise she'd probably end up pulling the pin on that grenade and shoving it down the blonde guys throat. She heard Havock grumble, and chuckled softly. "All demo junkies are the same. Am I right?" Jae joked, looking up to the Squad Leader, a feeble attempt at a smile flickering across her lips.

"More right than I wish to admit." Havock laughed quietly, looking around to see what the other troops of RAIDERS were up to.

Demented and Grahim still seemed to be bickering about some sort of rifle discussion. Aeos and Vee were, of course, arguing about something or other. Brightstar seemed to be off in her own little world. Njall was still double checking the snow armor that the entire group of troops in the shuttle had donned before taking off. Lastly, the great and powerful medic Karash, was sitting calmly in a corner, going through his medical supplies.

"It seems like everyone is ready for this." Havock said quietly, still looking around.

Jae shrugged. "I suppose. Njall looks nervous as hell though. Honestly, I am too. I mean... This is my first time in snow armor. Thankfully, though, these legs are much better to run in." She said as she sat back against the wall and lifted her legs up, flexing her knees.

Havock nodded, then looked at her chrono. "It shouldn't be long now until we set down. You wanna give our guys the four-one-one real quick?"

With yet another shrug, Jae said, "Yeah sure." The Senior Sergeant cleared her throat towards the RAIDERS direction, all of them looked up,waiting to hear what was up. She took a few seconds before speaking, making sure that everyone was paying attention first. "Alright. We land on Arkania, a few kilometers away from the Biodome that holds the city we are going to occupy. Hence that I said occupy not destroy." Jae said, making a quick look to the two Combat engineers, Aeos and Njall. She chuckled and moved on. "Once we land, we get a sled and make our way to the 'dome. We get off the sled, we blast our way into the 'dome and we take the city. Not that hard. So lets try not to screw it up." She smiled and nodded, then looked back to her datapad after everyone else had nodded back, showing they understood.

A voice rose from some intercom system throughout the shuttle. "Tee-Minus fifty minutes, troops." The pilot of the shuttle said.

"Meesa lika da water. But meesa not so suresa about da snow." Jae heard the gungan said. She had to laugh at that. She broke out into an almost hysterical fit of laughter as she leaned back against the wall and shut her eyes, not caring about the weird looks she knew she was probably getting from the troops that didn't know her as well as the RAIDERS did.

OOC:
As it says in the post guys: We got fifty minutes to kill before we land. Make your posts, then either Hav or myself will land this junker and get us on our sleds by possibly tomorrow night.

She sighed at his inept skill of maintaining a civil conversation, while she clung to her own denial at just how close of a friend she considered him really.

“Really, Rustam, “ she muttered dryly and forced one gloved hand into his face. Pushing it away.
The man glowered and fell back into his seat while keeping a wary eye on her.

“I just need to check-“

“I told you I’m fine!”  Aeos exploded. For a moment silence seeped into the cramped shuttle and clung to every molecule in the air, effectively forcing the oxygen out of Aeos’ throat and causing her to bit back a choke.  Just as soon the silence started to cling, just as fast did it dissipate.

He observed her lazily with his bright eyes. The madness which had clouded them so recently was gone. She bit back another chortle of curses and rested her head against the back of her seat, refusing to wipe away the rolling droplets of perspiration that pooled from her face lest he would take another stab, another chance.

She had only gotten out of the Medical Bay a few days ago. Her memory loss restored.  The drug entered into her system had confounded the doctors, and they struggled at retrieving her old self.  And of course, like a good little girl, she was sent with a note back to her Squad-Leader,  that her system was not stable. Memory loss could re-occur spontaneously. She had argued and she had shouted at Havock at first, who was very reluctant about allowing Aeos back into the squad. The Squad-Leader’s natural instinct to protect her friend from more mental harm, and as well as protecting the squad from any risks Aeos could pose.

It’s a five percent estimate!

“That means my squad will have a twenty percent chance of surviving instead of the usual twenty-five!” Havock hollered back at Aeos.

“We always come out alive on the other side, its effing five percent!”

“We come out in pieces!”

“No Sergeant, its you who come out in pieces,” Aeos muttered. She stubbornly cast her glance aside, and avoided Havock’s penetrating stare.

They stood in her office. They had been going at it for a good forty-five minutes already, and there was no coming sign of either one giving in. Of course the Squad wisely kept themselves away from Havock’s office and even Jae stepped lightly. It was unnatural to hear both of these women at this volume, save for Aeos’ occasional tantrum with Vasili. Otherwise, both were soft-spoken while Jae took lead in being the spitfire.

“I am going,”

“And I am telling you. You are not going,”

She smirked again, ignoring the pang of guilt crawling up her gut. She had managed to get back into Raiders, but with a small cost of trust, favors and Havock’s patience.  She sighed again. Besides, despite how Rustam infuriates her, his behavior has been a cause of concern for her, as well as the rest of the squad. She had to be there if he uncorked again.

The ship in which they traveled hummed quietly beneath her feet. She looked around curiously. There was the other flame-head in the squad, Brightstar. She was a veteran who called no claim to her experience and neither to her past. The woman was an enigma. Difficult to break through to, and easy to befriend.  Jae was still the same old impression Aeos had received the first day in the barracks. She was a loose cannon with plenty of craziness to be called a Raider. She barely knew Njall and Demented, and she could only hope she wouldn’t see them take early leave from this squad. And there was an extra addition. Kanderin, The man who equaled her in rank, had not spoken a word yet to her, and Aeos wondered whether the sandy-haired man still recognized an old friend when he saw it.

Her eyes traveled further across the cabin and she smirked. Dagger Squad seemed like fun. A perfect match for Raiders while Rampage would be the perfect balance for the craziness.

“Havi,” Aeos called out. The Squad-Leader turned around to face Aeos. Still annoyed, but already her friendly nature was forgiving Aeos, even if she fought to remain indifferent with the trooper.
“Can you lend me your datapad on Dagger Squad? I would like to sift through it a bit,”
Without a word, Havock handed over her datapad and returned to her conversation with Jae. Aeos grinned feebly, and activated the datapad.

Demented sat near the rear of the transport, keeping to himself. He was never one to talk, especially to those he didn't know well. He preferred to sit in solitude and prepare himself for what was about to come.

Taking a look around, and trying to drown out Aeos, Demented felt a bit dreary. The trooper laid his head back to rest on the wall behind him and dozed into sleep. As he fell more deep into sleep, a vision of his family surfaced. He was playing with his older brother in the yellow-brown grass that lay across the fields of Honoghr. In the distance, his mother and father, whom adopted Alex, watched as he and his brother attempted to gain the element of surprise on eachother.

A moment later, the sky turned grey as the hull of a transport came to view. Lord Vader had come to choose another set of his lethal, and secretive killing machines. Demented felt himself running as quickly to his house as possible to get out of the site of the Imperials.

A jolt came across Spickler, waking him from his slumber.

"Twenty minutes until we land. Start prepping," informed Jae.

The RAIDERS were still sat, uncharacteristically, patiently all involved in their own business; Karash could not help but think that this was the quite before the storm. ‘Nothing goes right on these missions; especially not for the RAIDERS’ pessimistic as ever Karash continued to sort through his medical supplies. He could remember a time when people used to ask why he carried so much stuff, the RAIDERS reputation seemed to precede them as no such question had been asked this time.

“Pass that back to us.” A trooper from Dagger squad appeared to be talking to Karash.

Karash searched around for what the trooper was referring to, upon finding it he simply picked it up and extended his hand towards the man. “Well there, take it.”

“Yeah, thanks.” The trooper smirked and snatched the object out of Karash’s hand before returning to his squad and making a remark that caused an outburst of laughter.

‘You try to do something helpful and all you get in return is mockery’ Karash let out a sigh as he continued to think. As Karash once again examined the contents of medical supplies he noticed that there was an unusually large number people that needed ‘to be watched from a medical perspective’, whatever that meant. Though he was fairly sure that is was in reference to the squads’ recent insanity.

“Are yousa alright?” Grahim had approached Karash whilst he was searching through the medical supplies.

“Perfectly fine thank you. Don’t tell me there is something wrong with you because I don’t want to hear it.” Karash spoke curtly.

“No, mesa just wanted to speak to yousa.” Grahim was still trying to be kind but seemed to be losing patients.

“Well you have done so, goodbye.” Karash nodded as he got back to his own business.

Karash desperately wanted to get off the ship, it was driving him mad being stuck so close to everyone else but it couldn’t be for much longer as it already felt like it had been hours. People still seemed to be doing the exact same thing as earlier but one thing that was painfully obvious, their faces had adorned new expressions and they were not positive ones. Though Karash knew that they would do their job, not necessarily in an efficient way, but nevertheless the job would get and normally they all managed to survive.

“Ten minutes until we land.” The ASL spoke clearly so that all three of the squads could hear them.

On hearing these words a great sense of relief and nervousness rushed over Karash. On one hand they would soon be out of this flying tin can but on the other hand they would be going straight into hostile territory. The one thing that still remained perfectly clear to Karash was that the job would not be an easy one and everybody knew it.

“Ten minutes till we land.” Jaenna said as she kept her eyes on her datapad, typing quickly, still trying to get info about Arkania and the Trade City they were about to attack. Though, with the high tensions that were continuously circulating throughout the cramped shuttle, Jae’s attempts at calming down with Havock’s help weren’t getting very far. Not a few moments later, her foot began tapping again and her knuckles were once again turning white from the increasing frustration pounding inside the gal’s head. It was terrible for her to be in this sort of state right before they land on a frozen planet, ready to slide down a huge hill in giant ass sleds and blow a hole in a city’s security dome.

’Oh yeah… Awesome state of mind to be in Jae.’ She said to herself as she switched off her datapad, having finally had enough with the stupid thing, and placed it on the protected utility belt of her Snowtrooper suit. Her helmet was next to her, and she looked at the thing with a sort of grimace before slowly picking it up and standing up, the helmet under her arm. This was the Senior Sergeant’s first time in this Snowtrooper stuff, and it wasn’t exactly top on her list of favorite bits of clothing. They were hot and stuffy, but a good thing was that the legs movements were much better. The gal was trained in free-running after all, so she loved being able to move her legs more. Not that being trained in free-running would help them in the snow any.

Jae sighed and grumbled softly, looking around at the RAIDERS. Her eyes rested on Havock for a moment. The blue eyed Squad Leader seemed to still be a bit annoyed at the argument her and Aeos had before leaving for the campaign, and so Jae had decided to give Hav a break from command and take the initiative.

Looking at her chrono, Jae smirked, knowing that within a few minutes, she’d be out of this godforsaken shuttle and in the snow. Another few seconds passed by, the others of RAIDERS noticing that she was standing, helmet in her arm. Aeos had stood as well, her helmet on and locked. Njall followed, and so did Grahim with his personalized helmet for his ears.

Rampage was ready entirely, their Snowtrooper armor looking all shiny and perfect. Their rifles in on the slings and around their shoulders. They were elite, and they sure as hell looked it. The Rampage emblem shiny on their right arm. The squad Leader, with the tell tale orange shoulder flap, nodded to Jaenna, showing that he and his men were ready.

Jaenna switched her attention to the rowdy Dagger Squad, who wasn't ready at all. Or even looked like they had the plans of getting ready for the sled ride down to the Biodome. Jae's sea-foam eyes et themselves on the Trooper with the Orange SL should flap. She approached him slowly, head still held high. She didn't care if he outranked her, which he did considering he was a Sergeant Major. What matter was being ready for the drop onto the frozen planet below them.

The man looked up at Jae as she approached. As their eyes met, she stopped walking and stood in front of him. The man raised an eye brow and stood, the Twil'lek obviously at least a few inches taller than Jae. It was as if the man was sizing her up, his blue head tendrils twitching slightly as he scoffed. "What do you want, Senior Sergeant?" His voice was gruff, and it was obvious that he wanted nothing to with Jaenna.

"We're five minutes from the landing point." She said as she held steady, her gaze on the Twil'lek man unwavering. She wasn't scared of him. She had better things to fear than some Squad Leader who didn't deserve the title. "I suggest you get your men ready."

The man's eyes flashed with a sudden show of anger. "Who are you to tell me what to do?" He took a step towards Jae, looking down at her.

Havock tried to go towards the two, but Visili had put out an arm to stop her. Before Havock could yell at him, he whispered. "The girl can handle herself. Let it be." Reluctantly, Hav stepped back and got to getting the other RAIDERS ready.

Jae stood strong, her eyes still locked onto the deep red ones of the Twil'lek before her. "I'm not telling you what to do, Sergeant Major Quelilles. I'm suggesting that you get your men ready for the land. So, either take the suggestion and be on time to play with your little boom-boom-sticks. Or play around some more and get told off by Jegora and Rizzit. Either way, I don't give a flying shit." She smirked and leaned forward a bit, whispering into his left ear. "Just know that you're the last thing I'm ever going to be afraid of." She raised her right fist up to his right ear and flexed her fingers, the tell tale 'whirring' sounds of electronics and cybernetics drifting into the ear canal of the Twil'lek.

Without another word, Jaenna turned and went back to the RAIDERS, nodding to the Rampage SL as she moved. She picked up her rifle and placed her DC-15 pistol at it's normal side holster. Her Treppus-II blade on her back, ready to be drawn for close combat.

"Landing gear is down. It's going to be a bit bumpy, the weather is a bit more windy than normal, so get into the sleds now. I'll open the hatch right when we touch down so you all can get moving." The pilot's voice echoed from the intercom.

The RAIDERS and Rampage troops heeded the pilot's words and hopped into their squad's sleds, SLs and ASL at the front. Sounds of the Daggers getting ready echoed through the steel cabin. Jaenna simply chuckled and tightened her grip on the controls of the sled, ready for anything. Jae, Havock, Njall, Bright and Visili were in one of the RAIDERS sleds and Aeos, Grahim, Demented and Karash were in the second one. All of the other troops has split up their numbers as well into the six-passenger RF-8s.

The bumpy ride started not moments later. They were being a jostled around a bit as the howling and snowy winds struck the shuttle. Only a minute later, the shuttle touched down and the hatch opened, reveling the sea of white before them. They sat there for a few moments, taking in the view.

"Goggles on." Hav said into the ComLink over the howling winds. Everyone complied and turned on their suit goggles, the snow being pushed around by the winds wasn't as much of a visual obstacle with them on now. "Alright, turn it on, Jae." the SL said next.

With a chuckle, Jae switched on the engine to the RF-8, and not a second later, she moved it forward and down the ramp-hatch of the shuttle, onto the frozen tundra of a planet.

The landscape was a never ending sea of white. Even the sky looked white through the goggles that were working hard to protect her eyes from the blistering winds. No snow, just wind. It wasn't often windy on Corellia, the buildings saw to that. Havock had always enjoyed climbing as a hobby, and often a way to get into trouble. She was too much of a climber to ever enjoy this weather.

In the far distance she could just make out a large dome shaped structure that must have been the bio-dome protecting the Arkanian Trade City. Based on the data they had, they should have five or so kilometers to travel and they would be there.

The combat sled jerked as a large gust of wind almost threw it smashing into another sled full of Rampage Squad troopers. Havock slammed into the side of the sled almost whacking one of the gun turrets. “Kriffin' hell!” She got a look from Jaenna then pulled out her comlink. “Sleds separate, not by much but we need to give each other more room if another gust like that hits any of us.”

The drivers clicked an acknowledgment on their own comlink, which was difficult to hear over the engines and wind. Havock watched while the sleds moved about ten more meters apart. It increased their chances for detection but it also protected them from smashing into each other before they could even arrive at their destination.

“Are we there yet?” A purposefully whiny voice came ringing into her ears from behind her.

Havock shook her head but wasn't really all that surprised. “Dammit Rustam, stop acting like an idiot and keep an eye out, we are on point for fracks sake.”

“Give me a break Hav, its been at least fifteen minutes since my last cig.”

“Savor that feeling, cause you're not going to get another one for a while yet.” She smiled a bit in her helmet as Decembrist groaned loudly behind her.

The ice held a haze as they approached a vast flat stretch on their journey. Havock adjusted the medkit strapped to her back, as she tried to see through the white soup in front of them.

“What the hell?”

Havock looked over at Jaenna. “What?”

She gestured to the radar screen on the combat sled that was now showing a blinking red blip a few hundred meters ahead of their current location. The system was not overly sophisticated on the sled but one thing was for sure, someone was there and they were not with them.

“Patrol?” Jaenna started flipping controls trying to get a better lock on the location of the new vehicle. They were still speeding towards it and needed to decide what to do fast. In the weather there was no way to navigate that many combat sleds around whatever was in front of them. They both cursed at the same time as one red blip became two red blips.

“I don't think its a patrol, not that we can see a damn thing in this fracking wind. We are heading towards a trade center, its probably people who work for some of the locals or pirates of some type. The city police wouldn't be this far out.” Havock sighed and looked around at the others in the sled. “Okay then.” She grabbed the comlink again. “We've got company get ready to see if these gun turrets work, I doubt they will be happy to see us and I don't want them reporting to any-fracking-one that they saw us.”

A whoop and a yell came from one of the sleds behind the one they were in. Havock recognized the voice of the squad leader from Dagger squad. “You heard her boys, time to melt this snow.”

“Whoa! Hold on there Sergeant Major. We still need to not draw the attention of the city police, assuming these are not the police. So no blowing them up without the need to blow them up.” Slamming the comlink down she muttered under her breath. “Kriffin' Demolition junkies.”

They slowed slightly as the outlines of two combat sled type vehicles. It was hard to see how many people were on each one. The squads from the Cresh , dressed in white should have been camouflaged against the snow fields.

Which is why they all were surprised when the two sleds full of traders or mercs or whoever they were, opened fire.

"What the hell!" Bright called as the sled jerked to the right, narrowly avoiding the unfriendly fire. Havock made a grab for the controls as the next evasive maneuver nearly sent the sled end over end. "For the sake of all that is good, Jae, do not do that again." Bright heard herself saying. She was still waiting for her stomach to catch up and her heart to dislodge itself from her throat.

"Come on, Brighty, that was fun." Vasili called and put an armored hand on her shoulder. "And since when do you care as long as we don't get hit?" He asked as the sled rocked again in the other direction.

The normally unflappable Brightstar could feel herself shaking. She knew also it had absolutely nothing to do with Jaenna's driving. Despite the cold, sweat beaded on her upper lip. If it was not for the visibility being so poor Bright would have returned fire almost immediately. The problem was she couldn't see what she would have been shooting at.

"Dagger take them out!" Havock ordered, her helmeted face looked at the two Dagger Squad sleds. "Take them out now!"

"You heard the lady boys," Dagger's Squad leader called to his squad.

Meanwhile all Bright could manage to do was hold on for the ride. The snow and unfriendly fire mixed together to paint a very different picture to the warrior woman. In fact it managed more to transport her to another time and place.

It had been under similar circumstances. Only then Bright had been alone, taking a long deserved leave from all the death and carnage. She had thought Mygeeto would be safer than it had turned out. They had come out of nowhere, and had been on her almost too fast for her to react. She fought, but the snow slowed her movement. In the end, Bright had been the one in the snow. Her left arm had been mangled and was later amputated by emergency medics when she'd arrived at the hospital. Her face became the scarred visage that she now bore. She had only managed to take two of them. Two out of five.

Now she was frightened she would end up that way again. And these enemies she couldn't even see. She couldn't fight what she couldn't reach either. Bright blinked. She shook her head and focused on her surroundings. Arkania, not Mygeeto. Bright thought. She clenched her jaw. With the RAIDERS, not alone.

Somehow the skirmish was over almost as soon as it had begun. Whatever Dagger had done, it was final. No survivors were found and the squads were on the move again.

"Keep your eyes open people." Havock's voice crackled over the helmet comms. "I don't want anymore surprises like that."

Bright felt a hand on her shoulder. Her head jerked around to look at the possessor. It was Havock. "Are you alright?"

Bright blinked in surprise. Had she really been so obvious. "Yes, I am fine." She nodded. "I'm just a bit uncomfortable with snow." She said reassuringly. Havock stared at Bright for a moment longer before patting the sergeant on the shoulder and turning back to speak to Jaenna momentarily. Bright was certain that her squad leader didn't believe her at all.

Focus, Rain. Bright thought again.

The sled lurched forward and Aeos felt her stomach lurching along with the vehicle. She bit her lip inside the helmet, fighting the shivers trickling up her spine as the iciness of the planet sunk in through her heated clothing.  She got up from her seat and scrambled to the front towards Havock.

“Havi, those sleds were waiting for us!” she yelled out through the roars of the engines and the howling wind. The hooded squad-leader shook her head furiously.

“Impossible!” her voice yelled back faintly through the radio. Aeos shook her head, and adjusted the small mechanism encased into the insides of her sleeve-glove. Havock’s voice cleared up a bit.

“-expect that we are arriving yet. If they really were waiting for us, would they really have sent only two?”  Havock slapped onto Aeos’ shoulder while her other gripped to Jae’s back for balance.

“I suppose, I still don’t like this. We better hurry; there is no way as to knowing whether they were in an open comm-port and whether there is something tracking their position only to notice that it disappeared. We’re bound to be discovered soon.”

“Yeah, I know, Jae is pushing this baby as fast as she can, but I don’t want it to go boom with us on it, Ae, go back and check your stuff through.  Your worries will not help either one of us,”

She leaned her head back, and closed her eyes.  She faintly distinguished the sound of armor and weapons clanking against one another through the loud roar of the engine. Lucky for them that they were caught in a semi-blizzard, otherwise even the deaf-mute beggar on Third Street from the city would have heard them coming.

Aeos glanced around at the faceless entities in front of her. The ghosts glanced back at her, their identities nullified behind the snow-masks.

“Yousa readiez?”

“Yes Grams, just need to get into the action soon, I hate this phase of the mission. Hows you?” She asked back toward the gungan. She truly felt sorry for the water-creature. Their current environment was not at all related to his native world, and she suspected that Grahim would possibly prove to be the most sensitive towards the weather.

“I haves cold!” he shrieked and the gungan shook his head furiously.  She stifled a giggle and gave him him a half-arm hug.

“Don’t worries, our blood will soon be boiling,” she muttered in a half-grin.  She skewed her direction to catch the view of the small rear-way window the squad got to share.  She could see absolutely nothing, only a grey fog which surrounded the whole vehicle, furiously clawing at them with its howls.

They sled continued to slice through the snow and storm with surprising speed and the squad had just gotten used to it when the sled jerked to a complete stand-still.  The soft vibration of a rat-tat-tat followed. And then silence.  Jae and Havock scrambled to the radio.
“Chill ladies, another trader met their boom,” a deep voice chuckled. A pleasant voice which most definitely did not belong to the Dagger Squad-Leader. Subconsciously, her ears found a pleasantry in the lightness of his mirth.

“Keep us informed Daggers, Raiders out.” Havock firmly ordered. She nodded at Jae who immediately pushed her hands deeper into the controls than before in attempt to reclaim the few seconds they had lost on speed and distance.

“ETA, FIVE MINUTES!”  Jae yelled as her eyes flicked across the radar.
Whatever doubts Aeos had felt previously disconnected from her instantly.  They were here for business.

“ETA, FIVE MINUTES!”  Jae yelled. Mesa hopes itsa isa warm in dat dome wesa are going to attack, even if itsa just slightly warmer. Grahim thought. Grahim did not like the cold weather, it was not working out for him even though he was a warm blooded creature he still liked the sun better than the snow.

RAIDERS sled was a bit ahead of the two other squad sleds. Havock told the two other squads to slow down because she wanted to evaluate the dome defences.

When all three sleds were stopped Havock, Decem and Demented went away to check out the dome. Havock had said that RAIDERS had to stay close to the sled but they could walk around to get warm. Grahim walked over to Karash and asked if Karash could follow him on a little walk.

When they had walked for a short while Karash opened his mouth.
“What do you want?”

“Mesa wants yousa to do mesa una favour.”

“And what might that be?”

“If mesa goes nuts again mesa wants yousa to stop mesa and if datsa won’t work mesa wants yousa to shoot mesa.”

“More than happy to oblige, you know that a question like that makes it quit clear that you already are nuts, should I shoot you now or should I wait until we have an audience?”

“Mesa isa serious.”

“I understand that, but I do know that we will never come to that point.” Karash said and looked at Grahim as if he were another idiot that he had to talk to. “Shall we go back? Havock is maybe back.”

“Yesa why not.” Grahim said and walked besides Karash back to the sleds.

When the two came back Havock were standing there with a stance that told them that she were frustrated. She switched to a private channel and turned of the speaker so the rest of the people could hear.

“Did I not tell everyone to stay at the sleds?”

“Yesa yousa did but mesa had to ask Karash una thing and mesa did not feel safe enough to speak about itsa amongst de other.”

“Then learn to trust people. Well we need attack the dome because there are one speeder group and two groups infantry that is patrolling the area.”

“Should mesa trust people like yousa and Jae trust each other?” Grahim asked sarcastically and jumped to his seat in the sled. Grahim looked over the three sleds and saw that Rampage squad were sitting in their sled already but then again he suspected they never had got out of the sleds. Dagger squad were disorganized Grahim did not know that you could be in full chaos in such a short amount of time.

“Okay people we need to mount up now if we time this right we will have ten minutes to blow a hole in the dome.” Havock said. Grahim became amazed again that Dagger squad managed to bring their chaos into the sled instead of on the ground outside the sled.

The three sleds were going down the hillside down to the dome. They saw the group of speeders leaving the area, Grahim thought it were to resupply. The sleds were seconds away from the dome.

“Okay Dagger squad will go in the middle and RAIDERS and Rampage squad will guard the flanks.” Havock told RAIDERS squad.

The three squads reached the dome doing as planned. RAIDERS squad were looking the right flank, Rampage squad the left flank and Dagger squad were split up in two groups. One group preparing to make a hole in the dome while the other group watching the back.

It had gone six minutes and soon an infantry group would be at them. When they heard a member of Dagger squad yelling they understood that the hole was about to be opened.
They were correct. the man threw himself onto the snow floor as a great explosion threw metal shreds all over the area. Mesa isa glad mesa isa wearing protection. Grahim thought.

“Get moving you lazy ’asterds!” a voice boomed above Aeos.  A hand rested on the small of her back, whilst she herself was pinned to the ground by a bigger weight.  Around them debris of ground and powdered glass started settling down just as the storm in which they had traveled was starting to settle down.  Someone had pushed her down at the last as the blast had caught her off guard.

“Excuse me, do you mind?”  She curtly asked to the bigger weight above. Her tone of voice however clearly stated, that this was a command, not a request. She pushed one elbow up into the gut but something roughly caught her elbow and instead pulled her to feet.

“Not at all deary, “a thickly accented voice, she felt herself being placed onto her feet by a pair of large hands and being spun around by the owner.  A hand casually traveled down her waist which Aeos grabbed and yanked off her body while she stared at the large man in front of her defiantly, or rather stared at his mask.  Easing her breath out of lungs slowly, she brushed passed the twilek whom she could identify by his accent.  She felt his eyes burning on her back, and swiftly pushed all thought of the Dagger asshole from her mind.

“We need to keep moving squad, I can only guess that our local folks will wanna patch this hole close and keep the cold out, “ Havock called out, she gestured towards her troopers with her one hand, the other clutching a small paper-map, already smeared and dirtied.

Silently the squads started moving away from their entry point towards the first set of building a few meters off to the right.  The squads momentarily froze in their tracks however as a booming blare of sound shrilled over the silence which resided inside the dome.  A few lights lit up. Hastily the squads set themselves moving again.  Aeos stifled the urge of wiping her forehead knowing the only thing that would be wiped was her helmet. The heat was picking up again as they entered the controlled atmosphere of the dome.

“Should I be worried love?”

Aeos scowled through her helmet at Decembrist at her side who was already huffing at the lack of cigarettes in his mouth.
“You should totally ask him some tips,” she hissed at him.  The flyboy chuckled darkly.
“Next time he pulls that, I’ll kill him,”

The two troopers stopped at the niche of a garden wall which started at the first block of buildings. Havock and the others were hiding in pairs in the other niches. Far behind them, at the entry point, there was a crew of Arkanian Engineers already assembling together and inspecting the hole.  Aeos could faintly distinguish the fine silhouettes of what appeared like two or four
law-enforcement individuals.  A minority in comparison with the current Imperial Force who had broken through. But Aeos knew that once their gracious hosts had made a thorough assessment then they would realize the weight of the situation; a security breach.  And Havock knew this as well. They had only minutes to disappear into the city.

Aeos glanced down at Decembrist worriedly. The ease with which he had made that threat at the Dagger paled in comparison made his previous statements of stupidities and threats pale in comparison.
Don’t screw this up Decem,  she thought to herself as a vivid image of Decembrist being shot death on the execution block flickered into her thoughts. She willed the images away forcefully. She would have to trust the maniac not to be stupid.

The pair pulled themselves out of their hiding place. The authorities at the blast-hole had already summoned more authorities to the scene and things were getting busy. As the three squads were stealthily making their escape into the first block of the building, they heard something above them.  The people at the back had heard it as well, and both groups froze in their tracks. Above them, the sound of the thick dome cracking continued.

Aeos could actually hear Havock uttering the nastiest of swear words and she herself sighed at the stupidity of Dagger Squad who had clearly overdone their little trick.

“Don’t worry auntie, this baby won’t crack till we say boom,” a thick and familiar accent called out to Havock.

Inside the dome Bright felt more focused than she had on the outside. Her thinking felt clear and precise, and she decided to leave her behaviour before, where it belonged, out there. It didn't even matter to her at the moment that she found herself slinking through the blocks of Arkanian buildings with a strange trooper at her side.

"Fancy fireworks and crazy troopers." A deep voice said softly from behind the helmet that hid the man's face from view. "An annoying yet deadly and effective mixture, wouldn't you agree?"

Bright stared for a moment before she nodded in acquiescence. She looked the trooper over. He was tall that was for certain, easily over six feet. The symbol on his armor marked him as a Rampage, the tell tale orange flap on his shoulder identified him as Rampage Squad's leader. "Indeed." She said as they moved even further into the city.

"Don't talk much do you?" The man beside her asked as the two of them stopped in a very shadowed alley. He leaned against one of the walls and crossed his arms. His gaze was intense even through the snowtrooper helmet mask. Despite how fast things could fall apart, his stance was that of a man that for all the galaxy appeared to have everything under control.

Bright sighed and leaned against the wall opposite him, while she tried to think of a better way to do things here. "No, I don't talk much." She said, leaning her head back and staring up.

"Shall we start again?" He asked, his voice light and full of mirth. "I'm ---"

"I know who you are, Alexander Icestone." Brighstar said bringing her head down to look over at him again. "Burgeon Battalion legend has it your ten feet tall and eat rancor's for breakfast." She said.

Icestone laughed quietly, "Yes, well I shrank in my last pass through the sonics. I'm quite disheartened by it."

Bright had to smile at his humor. Meanwhile her brain had finally sorted out what was what. Of course. She thought.

"Havock, what is your position?" Bright asked through the helmet comm.

"Assuming you're in that alley way about two blocks back from me, I'd say....Two blocks forward of your position. What's up, Sergeant?" Havock replied, her voice sounded rough and slightly raw. Bright could tell that her nerves were being worn thin by Dagger's antics and near disaster at the dome entrance they had created.

"I'll tell you when I get to you." Bright said waving for her new friend to follow her.

Moments later and a near miss with a local patrolman, Bright and Icestone were standing face to face with Havock and Jaenna. It wasn't really a surprise to see that those two had somehow ended up together. Bright launched into her idea. She detailed that if they could cause a bit of a distraction for the local police to follow, it would give RAIDERS the chance to do what they did best. Blending and manipulating things to there advantage.

"What about Rampage?" Jae asked looking over at Icestone. He stood looking at Bright through his helmet, his arms crossed across his torso.

"For now my squad will follow RAIDERS lead. Mostly though we specialize in recon and scouting. We can vanish if you need us too till called for." Alexander said.

Havock nodded and looked between Brightstar and Jaenna. "Lets do it."

Jaenna commed the rest of Cresh team and let them know of the plan, while Icestone disappeared to gather his squad and become the hidden element that would keep them informed of the progress they were making. At the same time they would make their way toward the spaceport. "Good luck, ladies." He called as he left.

A moan escaped through his chapped lips and he pressed his face deeper into the fluff of his pillow. One strong hand darted to the bedside table, and he dragged his comlink off the edge of it and pulled it under his warm covers.

“Hello Chief?”  A voice chipped a spark too bright into his ears.
“I haven’t slept in two days, and you call in the middle of the effing night?”  He hoarsely whispered into the comlink.

For a moment there was silence from the other side.

“Sir, we have a security breach, someone blew into the dome…”
“I’m on it. Keep me posted and send me a car ASAP,”

The comlink signaled a chime at the end of their conversation and Sloan pulled himself out of his bed instantly.  He strolled over to his refresher while leaving a path of pajamas on the floor behind him.

***
Fifteen Minutes
***
“What are the details?” he asked gruffly. His mouth was stuffed with sweet pastry the rookie brought along in the hover car.  The younger man ruffled through the few paper-notes he had made earlier at the crime scene.

“Details? What details? We have a crack in the dome, a hole that was definitely not from the storm and no trace of any intruders.” He replied to the Police Chief in frustration.

“Easy Genwel, leave the frustration and hair pulling to me, focus on your job.” Sloan muttered soothingly.

He stole a glance at the dark world outside the window. Inside the car, their vicinity was relatively illuminated though most humans from the basic Galactic would consider the level of illumination as insufficient. Sloan scoffed at thoughts of the humans from the outer worlds.  He leaned his head to the back of the seat trying to savor the last few minutes of free-thinking he had left before he stepped out of the car.

He was a traditional conservatist which until this point of his career provided him with the support and loyalty that was expected from the community. He was born to a middle-class arkanian family in another sister-city. His carreer had been chosen for him as he had been born for it. To serve the community through law enforcement.  Upon sight, he could have been an attractive man had he been ten years younger, but now he had the typical snow-white hair and aged face of a man who had spent too many winters outside and too little summers inside with his family and friends.  The truth of the matter was that he had lost those luxuries a long time ago when his family perished in an accident while on vacation to another world. In response to the cruelty of fate, he shunned the rest of what life could offer, including the friends.

Sloan pulled his fingers through his short and spiky white hair and groaned.
“Tired Sir?” Genwel asked.

“I need coffee,” Sloan muttered in response as he pulled another hand through his hair trying to rub out the cobs from his sleepy state.

Despite his conservatism, the one thing to which Sloan did not dedicate respect was the manner in which the community wore their hair. Men of his mature and wise age wore their hair long, sleek and well-kept. Sloan could however not be bothered with this due to the nature of his character and career which at times had cost him a small chunk of respect from the older generations of his community while at the same time buying a bit respect with the younglings.  Sloan glanced at Genwel. He had recruited the boy himself, and there was a soft flutter of attachment towards the young officer whom he regarded as a son.  The boy also wore his hair short, but it wasn’t as spiky or white. His eyes still showed small traces of the iris as was normal during the earlier years of an Arkanian life.

“Sir, we’re here.”

Genwel motioned the door open with one hand over the controller pad located at the side of the door.  Sloan pulled himself out of the car tiredly and with a mumble of thanks accepted the steaming coffee pushed into his cold hands.  The wind iced at his face in the dark and Sloan cast a longing glance at the hover which was pulling away. He used the cup to warm his hands and studied the scene in front of him.

It had been exactly fifteen minutes since the blast gone off and created the gaping hole. And already the area was swarming with Arkanians establish outposts and coffee-tables. Despite it still being night, there was very  little light swarming around and instead the men used a soft green filter-light which scanned over the snowy surface of the ground. Sloan smirked and stepped closer to one distant individual who stood at the side instructing the mess of police and civilians into order.

“It looks bad chief, I’ve already set a squad on hounding our intruders,”  he muttered at Sloan. Sloan arched one white eyebrow with elegant surprise.

“So, it’s definitely a breach of security,” He asked.
“One-hundred percent confirmed. Military has already called into your regional office, left a message with me. This situation is out of your hands,”

Sloan sighed and sipped at his coffee with both hands.  He could have slept in.

“I suspected as much, we’re not trained for this type of situation, though I don’t why we can’t help with the hounding,”

“Tracking them down Sir?”

“Exactly, have another squad of dogs set on the trail. I want thirty of our force stationed across this zone in civilian clothes, to keep a eye for anything that might seem out of place,” Sloan ordered.

“And you Sir?”  His colleague inquired.

“Me? I need to do some homework,”  the chief replied with a smirk. His Force might not be trained for this, but he chose men of exceptional caliber to serve with him and that will count tonight.

She watched as Icestone slid from crevice to crevice, making his way down the alleyway back into the street. Rampage would find holes and exploit them so that RAIDERS would have eyes all over the city in the next few minutes. Dagger squad was still dispersed and Jaenna was having some trouble raising them on the comm, which made Havock all the more nervous.

“Alright, so now what do we do?” Brightstar leaned against the building with her arms folded. It was hard to judge if she was aggravated or just plain bored under the helmet.

“Arrrrgh.” Jaenna threw a punch at the wall causing both women to snap their attention to the ASL. “Every time I get the Twi'lek bastard on the comm all he says is to 'keep my panties on'. Can I hurt him, please?”

Havock sighed and leaned back. The fact that they had gone unnoticed in the alley way was pure luck at this point, she could only hope that the others were well hidden until they dealt with this Dagger issue. “No, I'm sure he will find a way into enough trouble as it is. Look if we are going to move through this city we need to get out of these snowtrooper uniforms. I don't want to ditch them completely though, in case we do need to go back outside. That snow is really cold.”

“You think?” Bright muttered under her breath, which caused the squad leader to pause.

“Try to get Icestone, see if they have found any buildings close to our current location that could store our armor and might have clothes. Once we've done that then we can figure out what kinds of messes Dagger is getting into.” Jaenna nodded and got to work.

“You okay Bright?” Havock looked at the woman standing next to her. Her arms were still crossed and she was looking rather intently at her boots.

Jaenna whacked Havock on the shoulder to get her attention. “Okay there is a apartment building just a few more streets up, it has a basement entrance from the alleyway. If we can get there, it should have some kind of storage facility probably with items belonging to the tenants.”

Havock rubbed her shoulder. “That sounds good, get the message to the others and lets move.” She turned but was blocked by her red-headed squadmate.

“I'm fine Hav, at least fine enough to do my job, alright?”

Havock nodded and patted Brightstar on the shoulder, then the three of them were on the move.

The trade center on Arkania was a bustling city. The streets were lined with peddlers selling their wares, and the noise level was astounding. The buildings were tall and had an architecture unfamiliar to Havock. They seemed designed more for their artistic value than functionality. The busyness of the main streets were helping the RAIDERS navigate undetected towards the apartment complex the Rampage squad had already scouted.

She could make out the ghostly white figures of Grahim and Demented slip into the alleyway from the other side. They two groups met up near the entrance to the basement.

“Wesa saw thesn others coming, Havvie.” Demented nodded from next to Grahim.

“Good, well they have the location, lets get down there. Jae you and the boys cover Bright and I.” Havock grabbed her pistol and broke the lock to the entrance in one shot. Nobody in the street seemed to notice the muffled 'bang' from the alley. They nodded and opened the doors at the same time.

Stairs descended down into the dimly lit room. The only light seemed to be coming from a single lamp in the center of the room, which was flickering its pitiful illumination every few seconds. The room was full of red cages on either side, and in each cage was floor to ceiling boxes of belongings in storage. Havock reached the center of the large room and quietly reached her gloved hand up to stabilize the lamp and cease the flickering.

A familiar hand tapped her on the shoulder then moved off farther into the room to continue searching. Grahim was also there he moved to Brightstar's left, Demented fell in between the two women. “The others are here, we just came in to help you two...make sure the coast was clear.”

Jaenna reached the other side and turned back, she shrugged and put her weapon away. “Okay then.” The others holstered their weapons and Havock turned to see the rest of the squad entering the basement. They made there way over to the squad leader just as  she pulled off her helmet.

“Good work guys. Lets go through some of these boxes and see if we can find some civilian clothes to wear. Our gear should be safe enough here especially if we secure the door to the upper levels. Once we are all set we need to get back to the street and scout out a way into the spaceport control center. Everyone clear?” A series of nods confirmed the orders and with a wave of her hand the squad dispersed to search the storage room.

OOC:
First post... it's a doozy.

“Three… two… one…” Private Archaeon’s helmetless, light tenor voice counted, signaling to the squad when the small charge torn from a grenade he rigged was going to explode. The Squad covered their ears, and the red cage burst open with the Engineer’s makeshift explosive. It was small, not enough pow to do damage through Stormie armor, but enough to blast open the door of the cage.

The next minutes were chaos, but the kind of chaos that the squad welcomed. Each one of them pulled cardboard boxes out from their stacks and onto the floor, clothing and other belongings falling out of containers like guts from a stomach. Each was sifted through, pulling out appropriate clothing for a disguise. Vasili was having trouble finding the right look, however. He pulled out a pair of ladies’ underwear that looked like it was more of a shoelace than its intended purpose.

“Hey… Aeos,” Vee called her to turn around. She twisted her kneeling torso around and saw what he was holding, “I think you could use this.” She snarled and threw a hat at his face, which caught his eye.

A simple brown bucket hat lay at his feet. Oooooo, that’s nifty! Dec picked it up and put it on, totally fixated on the hat snugly resting on his head, unaware of the other squad members. A matching tweed jacket and pants over in Aeos’ pile were perfect, so he crawled over and pushed her out of the way.

“Hey! Vee!” she objected toppling back onto her butt.

“Sh!” he viciously responded, focused on his civvies, and she scoffed and went off to find more clothing.

Having disemboweled numerous boxes and assembled their preferred wardrobes, the squad moved into action. All 10 soldiers started unbuckling and unclipping their armor, to Decem’s dismay. There were ladies in this squad! How fortunate for him that they were under a deadline.

“Should we go to another room, ladies?” he posited, indicating for the men to leave (which he had no intention of doing). Before anyone answered, half the group had their armor off. To Decem’s dismay and displeasure, the women (and men) were all wearing their Shadowsuits.

“Sorry to disappoint, Rustam,” StarFruit mocked him as she pulled her leg armor off.

“Hurry up and get your armor off, Sergeant!” Havock added, annoyed at his lack of expediency.

Well, this is embarrassing. Vee didn’t need a voice in his head to tell him that. He held his clothes bundled up in his arms pondering what the reaction of the squad would be if he did take his armor off. Havock and most of the squad were already partially dressed.

“Everything alright, Decembrist?” RAIDERS resident medic asked as he was tightening a necktie. “You look… not… alright. Need me to put you out?” Karash asked with a certain excitement.

“Erm, no… everything’s ok. Everything’s fine, yeah,” Decem answered frantically as he looked for some place to strip.

“Decembrist! Get a move on!” Havock barked, putting on the last of her clothes.

“I really don’t think that’s the best idea…”

“DECEMBRIST!” Havock and StarFruit yelled in unison.

If you insist… Dec dropped his leg armor and his clothes and stood in all his glory. Somewhere along the line - probably before he put his armor on - he forgot to grab his Shadowsuit. The squad groaned and screamed in shock and unison, though one female voice, Dec was sure, let out an “oh.”

“Vee! Pants!” Aeos shrieked and turned away following the rest of the Squad’s lead - though, Vee was sure again, it seemed like she snuck a peek.

“Uhm,” Havock struggled for a sane word after witnessing the horror, “everyone out into the alley, Vasili… get your clothes on.” Nobody needed to be ordered twice, they all practically sprinted up the stairs, leaving Vasili to cover himself up.

When he finally did emerge into the alleyway, one of the boys from Rampage squad was debriefing Havock as the Raiders surrounded her.

“-it appears as though Dagger’s gone completely astray, ma’am,” his helmet-filtered voice said. “We don’t want to use the radios in case local authority is monitoring the air.”

“What do you mean, ‘astray’?” Sergeant Katash asked, concerned and focused.

Vasili came behind Brightstar, who shifted uncomfortably at his presence, and listened in.

“The police are concentrating their efforts on containing them. They’ve gone loose. Reports of murder and rape have already surfaced. They’re out of control,” the Rampager filled in the details.

“What do we do?” Kanderin finally spoke up. A veteran himself, it was still a hard decision, and Havock’s facial expression indicated she had no plan.

“Cut ‘em loose,” Vasili voiced his opinion. Havock and the rest of the squad looked at him with interest. “What? Did I forget my pants again?”

“What do you mean, Vee?” Demented urged, utterly intrigued by the suggestion.

“Oh, I dunno,” elaborated Vasili, “we sell ourselves to the police to help eliminate them, maybe get ourselves access to these starport controls? Probly in the Police Center or something…” his voice trailed off as he searched his pocket for cigarettes. “Anybody got a smoke?”

Havock looked to the Rampager for confirmation. “We’re getting our boys towards that area. We’ll know where the controls are within the next couple hours,” he assuaged her.

The look on Havock’s face indicated more thinking. “Any other suggestions?” she demanded of the Squad.

Aeos spoke up. “It’s a stupid plan. We could face some very serious flak back home. But… we do have to move fast. This could be a straight shot to the objective.” Apparently she was still holding some resentment from that Twi’lek who took some liberty. “Your call, boss, but I think we should at least see if we can make a deal with the police. Vee,” she cringed, “may have something, however insane it is.”

“No. I am not doing this Paric.”

The twilek regarded his Second-In-Command with narrowed eyes.
The blue-haired pretty-boy-Wonder stood determinedly in front of the taller twilek with his arms crossed and a deep frown set on his face.

“My allegiance towards the Empire has reached an end!”  Boomstick hissed into the shorter human’s ear while making a cutting motion at his neck.
“Mine hasn’t, and we will be executed. “

The two Dagger Squad Members stood alone in the room still donned in their snow-trooper armor minus the helmets. The rest of the Squad was waiting next-room part of the abandoned building in which they hid.  They all were aware of the divide which was about to break and instinctively they had broken into two groups already separated by the length of the room where they were hiding and dressing. The two groups glanced at one another nervously while they tried to ignore the rising voices from the other rooms as the two men yelled at each other.  A voice flared only to be short-circuited by what sounded like bone booming against bone.

A door slammed open and out walked Boomstick. His loyals stood up immediately and glanced at him questioningly. The twillek snarled something and jerked his head to the door. With mixed expressions of smirks and fear they marched toward the door and opened it. The howl of the wind greeted those inside with a great roar. Boomstick spun around and glanced at those failed his loyalty. The little handful of troopers shrunk back in fear and Boomstick chuckled in his thick and deep voice.

“All this killing, it will be lovely, wouldn’t it? And when we meet again? That will be glorious.”  He exited through the door still chuckling.  The howling of the wind ceased as the door closed and the five remaining troopers glanced at each other fearfully and instinctively they rushed for room where Ray had shouted with Paric.

***Raiders***

Havock leaned against the wall, and fisted her one hand into the palm of the other.
“Going to the police? No, it will backfire on us.” She muttered wisely.

“Or…” Aeos but her tongue as she delved deeper into the opportunity this new idea could provide for Raiders.

“Or?” Jae pressed in a firm voice. She clearly had very little patience with how their situation had become.

“We can rely on Dagger Squad distracting the police-“
“-and effectively complete our objective without taking any action with Dagger Squad. Police will prolly find them.” Havock finished. Her eyes glittered at the thought.
Decembrist glowered.

“Aw, but it would have been fun to sell them.” He muttered still patting distractedly at his pockets for some smokes.  A sudden shrill chime interrupted their brain-storming.  Havock glanced at her ComLink distractedly.

“It’s from a Dagger Address,” she muttered.

“Strange, it’s not from Paric or  Ray.” she continued and she frowned while her eyes scanned the small screen of the Com.
“Remember, we can be monitored by the city,” Brightstar said.

“My gut is telling me to take this call.” Havock muttered as she activated the call and turned her back to the Raiders.  Aeos strained her ears to try and catch whatever Havock was saying but to no avail. All she could gather was that the conversation was rather heated.  The conversation continued for only a minute or two and then it was over. Havock turned around, slightly pale.

“That was Senior Sergeant Shalla. Dagger Squad had indeed gone rogue. Paric knocked Ray out and half of the squad took off with him into the city. They require medical assistance with Ray. I have promised them backup.”

Raiders stared at Havock shocked. It was almost unthinkable for them to imagine any sort of mutiny taking place. Aeos suppressed the memory of the mutiny she had suffered years ago and recomposed her face.

“Just remember, we are in civilian clothes, but that will not make us blend in. There are not a lot of tourists in the city. They don’t like outsiders and we don’t look like them. It will be best to travel in pairs to the location. Not attracted attention. Rampage is scouting the safest routes ahead but if these guys are serious then I can only guess that they are on our asses. We need to move.” Jae muttered.

“I can’t believe this. I cannot, fripping, BELIEVE THIS!”

Two men stood guard outside the Arkanian embassy’s front entrance. The embassy was structured in the typical Arkanian fashion, only more lavish then the other buildings surrounding it. This, of course, was due to the importance of the building. Not only was it used as a meeting ground for diplomats all over the galaxy, but it also served as a hotel for foreign diplomats to stay. Guards patrolled every inch of the large structure, and a twenty foot high durasteel wall with auto-turrets made sure no body got in. Outside of this ‘oh so menacing wall of death,’ were three guard posts, one stationed in front of every entrance to the building. Anyone forcing their way into this Arkanian fortress of an Embassy was sure to have their hands full.

The guard who had spoken earlier raised his voice again. “Two years! I’ve been here for two years and they still put me on the night shift. Absolutely ridiculous!”

“Oh come on Lanno, you know complaining isn’t going to change a thing,” replied his co-worker.

Lanno paced back and fourth, his hands bunched up in a tight fist. The burly Arkanian seemed as if he wanted to speak, opening his mouth and then quickly shutting it multiple times as if he were a fish out of water. He turned to face his more relaxed counter part who was taking out a pack of cigarettes. “You’re a fool Vemp,” snarled Lanno.

“Am I?” Replied the tall guard, lighting up a cigarette and taking a quick drag. “Why’s that?”

Lanno glared at Vemp. “For letting those inconsiderate morons take advantage of us!”

Vemp chuckled, taking a long drag before speaking. “Doesn’t that make you a fool as well?”

Lanno opened his mouth to reply but then realized arguing was useless. Vemp was right. He was always right. Whether it was about work, women, or political matters, Vemp would always prove him wrong. Sometimes Lanno wondered how they ever managed to become best friends, arguing as much as they did. It reminded Lanno of those couples who would always argue and end up loving each other no matter how fierce the argument. A love hate relationship, he thought.

“C’mon Lanno, just relax! Here, have one,” he said, holding out his pack of cigarettes.

Lanno looked at the cigarettes with disgust. “You know I don’t touch those nasty things. They’re going to be the end of you.”

“Stop being such a snivgold! One cigarette isn’t going to kill you. C’mon!” Taunted Vemp.

The two friends went at it again, Lanno doing most of the shouting and Vemp pretending not to care. In the distance, further down the street that led to the embassy, was a man. This man was slowly making his way down the street, stumbling over himself and barely able to walk in a straight line. At first, Lanno and Vemp didn’t notice the ‘drunken’ man in military fatigues, and kept on arguing, but once he was within twenty feet, Lanno took notice.

“Look,” he said, pointing the man out to Vemp.

“Not another one of those,” muttered Vemp.

Lanno adjusted his shoulder strap and grabbed the E-11 dangling at the end. With caution, he made his way over to the drunken heap stumbling towards them and signaled for Vemp to follow. The two guards stopped five feet in front of the man, eyeing him suspiciously. “Excuse me sir, but we’re going to have to ask you to turn around,” Lanno commanded with authority.

This seemed to catch his attention, and the man made an attempt to straighten up, looking rather foolish. “Gud evenin’ offica… I was jus makin’ my way back home, so if you’ll ‘scuse me,” the drunk tried pushing his way past Lanno and Vemp but each of them grabbed a shoulder and held him in place.

“You’re lost and drunk sir. We’re asking you politely to please leave the premises. We don’t want to have to ask you again, now please leave,” commanded Vemp this time.

“What are ya gonna do if I don’t?” Asked the drunk, a smug grin on his face.

Lanno shoved the drunk away and aimed his E-11 directly at him. “We’re going to blow a hole the size of my foot through you. Now leave.”

The drunk took two awkward steps toward Lanno, placing himself only a foot away from the guard, and then looked him in the eye. “Should have done it when you had the chance.”

Lanno barely had time to register what he said before receiving a swift knee to the groin followed by a slash to the neck. He watched in horror as his life started to bleed away before his eyes, collapsing to his knees as unconsciousness began to grab hold. Vemp managed to get his rifle up before the assailant was on him, but never managed to get a shot off. Just as fast as he had brought the E-11 up, it was slapped back down with such force that he couldn’t keep a grip on it. The ‘drunk’ slammed his open palm into Vemp’s tempo, stunning him, and quickly sliced his neck open from side to side, stepping out of the way so he wouldn’t get sprayed by the rush of blood. Vemp hit the floor a second later, dying face to face with his best friend. He had so many things to say to him, so many apologies, but that would have to wait for the afterlife. I’m sorry for being such a dick Lanno, please forgive me. The last thing Vemp saw before dying was his bestfriend. He was smiling.

****

Commando Leon didn’t even so much as blink in the seconds it took to kill those two men. Before the second guard hit the floor, he was already running, sheathing his Treppus 2 Vibro Blade and pulling on the mask that came with his Shadow Cloak. He kept low and made sure to run light, regardless of the fact that his Shadow Cloak helped muffle his footsteps. You could never be too careful, especially on a mission like this.

As soon as he got to the wall, Leon turned around, only to be greeted by four other shadowy figures. Each of them pulled out what seemed to be regular slug-throwers from hip holsters and aimed them towards the top of the wall. One of the Commando’s tossed Leon a pistol before he too, aimed it at the top of the wall. One by one the Commando’s fired off their slug-throwers, shooting out tiny coils of durasteel rope with a magnetic pad at the end instead of a bullet. Leon followed suit, aiming at the top of the durasteel wall and pulling the trigger. The magnetic pad found its mark, and with a clank, secured itself to the wall. He pressed a button on the Magnetic Grappling Gun and found himself caught off guard at how fast the little thing pulled him up, nearly losing his grip. Gotta be more careful with that, he thought, once on top of the wall.

Before anyone could notice the five commandos perched on top of the wall, they jumped off, landing softly at the bottom. They had trained for this dozens of times; there was no way they were going to mess it up now. Leon looked up at the auto-turrets and smiled as they started the usual right-to-left strafe, telling him that they were now activated. The commando team only had a minute to get over the wall, and they had done it with ease, just as planned. With the wall to their backs and bushes in front of them, the commandos huddled together.

“Nice work back there Leon,” Beta whispered, the huge man towering over the rest of the team.

Leon nodded and then addressed the rest of them. “We’ve trained hard for this, so let’s not screw it up.” He looked at the four commandos under his command, not really knowing what to say. It reminded him of his Storm Trooper days, when he was the squad leader of Dark Dragoons. Leon sighed before continuing. “We’ve been through a lot together, and I expect to go through a lot more. We’ve got this, so don’t sweat it. And remember…” Leon looked each and every single one of them in the eye before continuing. “Do not hesitate. Let’s get to it.”

The team split up, each of them going their separate ways, each with their own objective. Beta was the last to leave, nodding to Leon before he went. They had grown close during their time in the Commandos, and Leon had considered him a best friend. Just as Beta was about to step through the bushes, something unexpected happened.

There was an explosion.

Leon jumped at the sound, or rather, what the sound was going to start. The explosion was far off, but it sounded like someone was trying to breach the dome. Leon was sure of it. Overhead he could see the dome itself cracking; small chips and pieces the size of hover cars crashing down on top of buildings and the few unlucky civilians that happened to be out. Leon knew what was going to happen next, and just as he predicted, the Embassy’s alarm went off. Leon’s face went pale. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He looked at Beta who must have been thinking the same thing.

Before the two commandos had time to act, flood lights illuminated the entirety of the Embassy. Luckily for Leon and Beta, they had large hedges in front of them and a wall to their backs, so even with the lights it would be hard to spot them. His other commandos weren’t so lucky. The sound of blaster fire quickly erupted along with the wailing sirens. This was the sound of failure.

A single tear rolled down Leon’s masked face.

****

Leon and Beta had barely made it out of the embassy in one piece. If it wasn’t for the strict training regimen they had been put through, they never would have managed to evade the local authorities. A little bit of luck played into it as well. As soon as they had managed to lose them, they found a house to stay in. Luckily for Leon and Beta, the owner wasn’t home so they had some time to hide.

“I can’t believe this,” Beta said, sitting against the bedroom wall.

Leon took another peek out of the second story window, looking for any kind of unusual activity. “This isn’t our fault, Beta. I’m sure that was a breaching charge, there’s no doubt in my mind that something else is going on here. Besides,” Leon said, now looking at Beta. “We’ve still got to get to the extraction point. You heard what HC said: If something goes wrong, we bail. Someone gets captured – We leave them.”

“Three kriffin’ months Leon. And for what? For nothing?!” Beta asked, the large man’s voice booming.

Leon was just as angry as Beta, if not more. He couldn’t show it though. He had to keep his cool. “They warned us. At least they gave us that much,” replied Leon, peeking out the window again. Beta was about to speak until Leon threw a hand in the air, motioning for silence. “Come take a look at this.”

For such a big man, Beta moved with a dancer’s grace, much like any other commando. He peered over Leon’s shoulder, his jaw dropping at the sight beforehand. A group of Storm Troopers were stealthily making their way to a location unknown to Leon, but a plan was slowly forming in his mind. They were going to follow them. If Leon needed proof as to why the group of commandos failed, he had it right before his very eyes. He looked at Beta, and Beta knew exactly what was going through his mind.

“Lets go.”

****

Whoever these Storm Troopers were, they were pretty damn good. Leon had tried to make out the insignia on their shoulder plates, but they had changed into civilian clothes, making it impossible for Leon or Beta to make out who they were. The two commandos had followed their every move, and they themselves had changed into civilian clothes. Leon ignored the strange looks some of the Arkanian’s were giving him, and made sure to dodge authorities even with his civilian outfit. Since the STC squad had split into groups of two, Leon followed one group, and Beta followed the other. They made sure to keep in radio contact.

The Thunder Dome was bustling with activity, and many civilians stared up in awe at the cracked shell of the Thunder Dome. Many of them asking questions like: “Is it going to break?” And “What happened?!” From what he had seen so far, Arkanian authorities were pretty good at keeping rumors from spreading, and whatever story they had told the civilians, they were buying it. The two Storm Troopers Leon was following turned into an alley way and made their way into another house. Making sure not to come too close, Leon watched as the rest of the squad made their way into the same house.

“Beta, the squad has regrouped. What’s your twenty?” Leon asked, holding his comlink close to his mouth so no one else could hear.

“Opposite end of the alley way. What do we do?”

“Let’s go introduce ourselves.”

****

“Why the hell did Paric do this?!” Havock asked angrily.

“I don’t know ma’am, I really don’t. They told us they needed some time alone, so we gave it to ‘em,” replied an innocent looking Dagger member.

“And of course you just let him prance right on out,” Jaenna said sarcastically.

“We didn’t know what to do. What COULD we do?” Questioned the red hair blue eyed man, his frustration building.

“I wish that grenade you guys were playing with earlier had blo-“

“Not now, Jaenna. We need to handle this,” commanded Havock.

The group of Storm Troopers stayed quiet, shocked at how bad the mission was turning out to be. Then there was a knock at the door. Everyone exchanged nervous glances, some instinctively reaching for their blasters or knives.

“Should we open it?” Asked Karash nervously.

“It could be a trap,” whispered Aeos.

“We’re friendly’s, and we would really appreciate it if you let us in,” shouted a voice on the other side of the door.

Another second of silence.

“Are you Rampage or Dagger?” Asked Havock.

“I can be both, if you want me to be,” replied the voice on the other side of the door.

Havock looked over at the red haired Dagger member. “Let him in.”

“Me? Bu-“

“Do as she says,” barked Jaenna.

The Dagger trooper slowly made his way to the door, his hand hovering over the doors control panel. He looked back at the rest of the Storm Troopers, making sure they had him covered before he opened it. He pressed the button, and backed off, his blaster pistol aimed at the now opening door. Once open, they were greeted by a young man dressed in civilian clothes, his hands up to show that he was unarmed. Behind him was a giant of a man, and he too, had his hands up.

“Come in. No sudden movements. I’ll make sure personally that they’ll be your last.” Ordered Havock. Leon and Beta walked into the room, taking note of the fifteen different weapons aimed at them.

This could either turn out really good, or it could turn out really bad. Now all they could do was go with the flow.

Sloan was now pacing in his office. Reports were flooding the comm of despicable acts and blaster fire all over the city. On top of just having to maintain order, his office was also full of angry merchants demanding said order. He sighed and rubbed his head, the coffee he drank was not helping. This was not how today was supposed to go. At this rate they would be rounding up every off worlder and arresting them for suspicion just to satisfy the angry mob outside his office door.

He had been spending the last hour in his now noisy office trying to get an idea of what they were dealing with. Pirates looking to rob the merchants perhaps. But they seemed to professional, something about the whole situation reeked of experience and precision. That would indicate the military, but who? Arkania was neutral.

A barely perceivable knock came from the door, then a young man squeezed his way through the even louder merchants as they saw an opening to be heard. Genwel had to push against the door with all of his force to get it to shut again. Once the click of the lock finally sounded, he took two steps back breathing heavily and nodding at the door.

“Just visiting to make sure they haven't devoured me yet, or do you have something for me?” Sloan watched as the younger man turned sharply, being shook out of his irritated thoughts about the merchants.

Genwel nodded. “They found this.” He set a small container on the desk, when it was opened what was left of a pretty advanced explosive could be seen.

Sloan didn't waste any time. “Find me an explosives guy now, I want to know everything about this bomb yesterday Gen.”

Genwel nodded and turned towards the door then paused, he needed a few deep breaths before he dealt with that door again.

--------------~~-------------------------

“What do you know about our situation?” Havock was still eying the two men now sitting in the room with the remains of Dagger Squad and RAIDERS.

“Nothing, in fact beautiful, I don't even know who you are.” He was an average man, but his greenish eyes looked tired and sad, like he'd just been through more than he was letting on. She stared at him, they didn't have time for this, but she wasn't about to put everyone else at risk until she was sure these two were not going to detonate a bomb as soon as their backs were turned. He sighed and looked at his taller companion. “Leon, he's Beta. We were sent in months ago on an assassinate mission. We were in position in the embassy when your people decided to go put cracks in the dome. Have you not ever heard of a door?”

“Commandos?” Jaenna muttered from next to her, Leon nodded in the direction of the auburn haired girl. “So where is the rest of your squad, why are you tracking us?”

“They were captured, or killed. Either way they are dead.” The taller man, Beta, turned his head downward when Leon said that. She couldn't imagine losing everyone in RAIDERS in a matter of minutes. She had to give them credit for not losing it completely.

“Okay fine, I'm Havock she is Jaenna, we are in charge of RAIDERS. We are dealing with a situation on our end. We came in with two other squads. One of these, Dagger, half of them have decided to disobey orders. They are causing mayhem throughout the city. On top of that, we need to get to the command center and shut down the spaceport controls.”

“Spaceport controls?” Beta spoke up for the first time. He tapped Leon on the shoulder. “We know where the spaceport controls are.”

“Yea, we know where the heavily guarded spaceport controls are in the command center, which also holds the entire police force for the city. Yea, sure, we know where that is.” Leon shook his head and seemed to ponder what he had gotten himself into.

Havock nodded slowly and paced around the room for a bit. They could try to lie to the police, claim that they had been sent in to assist them with the offworlders. That would work until someone called the chief, but it might be enough time. Or they leave Dagger. Even though Dagger was still not completely rogue, they were certainly not heading towards the objective. They were providing a much needed distraction though, one which the RAIDERS could use to get into the command center while the majority of the police force was dealing with them.

“Let's go to the other room, I want to talk to everyone.” Jaenna raised an eyebrow but motioned to the boys to get up and move, which they both did without question. They entered the slightly larger room which contained all of RAIDERS squad, four members of dagger squad, and now the two commandos.

“We have an objective to complete. Rampage has spread out and hidden themselves through out the city, they can be our eyes. The police are trying to track down the rest of Dagger squad.” She started to pace. “So here is what we are going to do. We need to find whoever is in charge of the search, and tell them that we are off-world police officers here to assist them in finding the troublemakers. We can spin that however we need to, but once they agree then we should be able to by-pass the security checks and get into the control center.” She glanced at Leon. “Which also happens to be where the police station is. I would prefer to make it that far before we are stalled by a fire fight.” She looked back to Leon and Beta. “Now as for you two, you're with us now. Whatever your ranks were before you went commando, thats what you are again. Thats not going to be a problem is it?”

She nodded as they both gave a simultaneous. “No, ma'am.”

-------------------~~~~------------------------

Paric sat with his back against a building. He had stripped off everything from the waist up, and loved the looks he was getting. Of course, the natives didn't linger long. He was after all, a rather pissed off looking Twi'lek with a large blaster in one hand and in his other hand he held a grenade which he just kept rotating in his palm.

Things had gotten pretty bad, but this was far more fun that anything those women had come up with. “Boom, the police are starting to close in. What should we do now?”

Paric smirked. His boys weren't all bad, they were having a bit more fun than they should have maybe, but who cared anyways? He rolled his eyes and cracked his neck, stretching before answering the 'rogue' trooper who was still reporting in. That made the twi'lek laugh. “Give em' some more hell.”

He pulled out a cig and lit it. “Time to get back to work, I guess.” He muttered to himself.

“Bring me another coffee and pronto.”
“Yes Sir, immediately.” The younger voice jumped back at Sloan’s command over the radio.

Sloan sighed and pushed his long spidery fingers through his spiky hair and leaned back into his chair. He swiveled around on the axis to the face the back wall of his office which had been cleared to depict a new grand brain-map of their current situation.  He’s eyes traveled down the elements and lines crawling across the wall.  On the left side there were the scribbled details of the hole which had been blasted into the details. On the right side there were the other details of the Embassy which had been attacked. The attack failed, but none-the-less he had to question the situation as to whether the hole on the dome which happened after the attack and the attack itself were linked. Of course they were linked but if he wanted to unmask the enemy he had to find those links.  He locked his eyes on the bottom scribbles. Rampage in the city. Definitely tied to the blast-hole. But the amount of rampage caused in the city did not match up to the amount of footprints which had been found , sniffles and investigated in the past few hours.  His eyes continued to flick from one element to the other. Storage-Rooms plundered. Attack on the Embassy conducted by commandos who had smartly left-out any details with whom they had affiliated their now-diseased lives. Sloan swore softly. He was missing something here. Is this one enemy or two? What was the motive? And who is the boss?

There was a sharp knock.  Sloan spun around in his chair and faced the door of his office again.
“Come in!” he called out.

And in walked two of the most prestigious and important men in the whole of city. Sloan felt the blood rushing to his cheeks and practically jumped from his chair to attention.

“Mayor, General, I..erm. Tea?”  he lamely asked.

***
Aeos glanced at glass doors in front of her nervously. She wasn’t very much for this idea but alas her Squad-Leader overruled her opinion and she would have to follow through with the orders.
“You ready?” a smooth voice to her back asked.  Ray placed a large hand on her shoulder and she visible relaxed under his grip and voice. The ASL of Dagger sure was the polar opposite of Paric.

“Yeah, I just don’t like this.”

“We have to take chances,”  he softly replied. They stood in the shadows of the Law Enforcement HQ building, still studying the surroundings.

It had been decided that Aeos would be the ‘talker’ of their little galactic law enforcing group along with Ray. Jae has assumed command of the remnants of the Dagger and had gone along skirting into the city to the SpacePort to get ready into striking positions. Along with them went Decembrist and Brightstar. The rest all remained behind with Havock who would positions and command her column of soldiers at the slightest signal to strike or withdraw depending on what Aeos and Ray achieved inside.

“Let’s do this.” Ray muttered and he stepped out of the shadows tugging Aeos along with him.

***

“You are what?”
“The group currently havocking around in your city. We have been tailing them for months now. They are soldiers who had gone rogue on our planet. We apologize for what has happened so far. We should not have allowed it to come this far.”

Sloan stared at the petite blonde female in front of him suspiciously.  She had barged into his office dragging her blue-haired misfit partner along and started rambling failing to notice the intrusion she had made on his private meeting with the Mayor of the city and the General in Command of the City Force.  The amount of bullshit she spit from her tongue however had caught the attention it wanted.

The Mayor, a robust yet short man concentrated on her explanation with narrowed eyes while stroking his massive white moustache.  He was still donned in his attire of the previous night when he attended a formal event.  Red silked pants and a jackets with white-cuffed sleeves and knee-high black leather boots.

“My team is waiting outside. We have reason to suspect that our defects will target the Space-Port
and-“

“And pray tell me, why from the seven hells of Sithspit would our city be of any interest to this supposedly renegade group of yours?”  The Mayor inquired with a deep and bellowing voice. Sloan cringed at the man’s lack of volume control but at the same time he felt his affection for the little man increase. The man was no fool.

The blue-eyed girl hesitated and Sloan smirked.
Got you.

She started babbling again but he would listen to the recording of this conversation later. He would trust the Mayor and the General to be his ears while he would serve as their eyes.

“I’m sorry Ma’am. But why would I submit to these ridiculous requests of yours when I have our Forces which are much more capable than your little force is?”

Aeos and Ray stared at the Mayor with vacant expressions.  Ray scratched his ear and sighed. Aeos blinked.

Sloan saw it too late.  He tried to utter a warning but unfortunately he had made one mistake today. He should have kept his on the proximity between him and the enemy.  Ray’s practiced fist put him well out of action as Aeos pulled out her DC-15. She aimed it between the eyes of the Mayor and Ray unclipped his own pistol aiming it toward the General. They had entered the room evoking a little yet innocent suspicion from Sloan. The man had felt no need for extra security and merely closed the door of his office.

“Wha-what do you want?”  The Mayor stuttered with wide-eyes. The impossible posture of the General seems to have shrunken as he eyed the pistol aimed at him. Sloan moaned in the back as he tried to pull himself to his feet. Ray could pack it mean.

“We want the Space-Port and we want to capture these individuals and you are going to help us.” Ray commanded in a low voice.  Sloan moaned again as he leaned against the wall now, wiping the blood tricking from his broken nose.

“We will never do that.” He muttered back at Ray.  He shrunk back in reflex when the room flashed blue and a shot went-off.  The General crumpled to the floor in a groan.  The smell of burnt flesh entered the room from the entry wound in his temple.

“I’m sorry, did we not make ourselves clear here?” Aeos asked.
The door burst open. The shot had attracted attention. Ray automatically dodged to Sloan’s side and pulled him into a kneeling position and pressed his pistol into the back of the shorty spiky hair while Aeos whipped herself to the back of the Mayor making effort to provide visual seriousness to their new audience as she placed the nuzzle of her pistol to the side of the Mayor.
Genwel paled as took in the scene.

“Get back!” He shouted at the Officers and local forces behind him.  He turned around to face Aeos and Ray.

“What is the deal?” he spat.

“What we want is the space sport to be cleared and halted. No landings. No departures. Ground all and exit the building. What we want next is a nice blaster-proof lift for the Mayor to get to the Space-Port. Of course we will be his company. We shall make our next set of commands when we are ready for that phase. But help us achieve our first goal and we will release the Chief. We can discuss the Mayor over lunch which you will provide. And don’t worry. Mayor shall dine with us.” Aeos stated.

Aeos stole a glance at Ray. So far. So Good. The locals still had no clue about the Rampage and Raider presence.  And she was sure the Raiders and Daggers would find their way into the SpacePort.

”Okay RAIDERS, Rampage and what’s left of Dagger Squad. We need to figure out a plan and I am open for suggestions.” Havock said.

“We would want to take control of the spaceport and the Command center.” Rampage’s Squad Leader said. “We are lucky this place were constructed by civilian engineers, because the Command center and Spaceport is in the same building.”

“Okay and most of the police here is in the Command center already because of our two ‘negotiators’.” Karash said.

“How do you know that Karash?” Jae asked

“Because a large number of speeders with the word police on the side were driving towards the command center.” Karash answered.

“Well then I guess we need to help Aeos out.” Havock said thoughtfully “But we should also take control of the spaceport which is on the higher levels of the same building. But I guess that the half of Daggers that we have left have to go with half of RAIDERS to take control of the spaceport. Then Rampage and the last half of RAIDERS will help Aeos out.

“What are wesa going to do about demsa bastards?” Grahim said and pointed towards Beta and the man that called himself Leon.

“We will have to split ‘em up. So that they can’t plan something.” Decembrist said.

“Then I guess that Jae, Grahim, Karash, Demented and Leon are going with Rampage squad to help Aeos out. Meanwhile I, Njall, Beta, Brightstar and Decembrist will have to escort Dagger squad to the spaceport controls.” Havock said.

~  ~  ~

Grahim were not that thrilled about splitting up, because RAIDERS were most successful when they were together. But at least Rampage squad were with them.

“Okay we need to either get in with brute force or with tactics.” Jaenna said.

“If my sources are correct both of our squads at least one Heavy weapon specialist each.” Rampage’s ASL said. “If we are smart we put them in a position were they can put suppressing fire on the police but the police can’t fire back.”

“That could actually work.” Jae said. “Who is the HWS in your squad?”

“It’s Krah’t Stracci.” Sergeant Major Icestone said as a Talz in Stormtrooper armor stepped forward. “Who is the one in your squad?”

“It’s Grahim.” Jae said and pointed towards the gungan.

“Okay wesa needs to find good positions now.” Grahim said “Who has de map?”

“Ka pooka Kee” Krah’t said and not long after a metallic voices came to life “He says ‘We have it’, but I think he want to say is ‘I have it’.” The big talz just nodded and brought up the holomap.

“Okay if we put Grahim here.” Jae pointed at a back alley that didn’t have any lights. “then we put Krah’t here.” She pointed on a balcony on a public house.

“Would thirty minutes to prepare be enough?” Icestone asked. Grahim and Krah’t nodded before running of to the positions.

“I don't see why I couldn't go with Leon.” Beta grumbled under his breath as he walked past the squad leader.

Havock rolled her eyes and forceably released her fist. Gah, she really wanted to punch the kid for some reason. “Beta, I'm going to say this one more time. Just one, so listen up. Both groups needed one of you, you both are more familiar with the city and the command center, so no I couldn't just send you both with one group. Is this sinking in yet?”

This had not been an easy day for Havock. Rampage needed medical help near the entrance of the city, so she had to send Karash and now he would probably be there for the rest of this mission. Not to mention she hated being separated from Jaenna, that just automatically put her in a bad mood.

Havock looked around at the group she was in. Three members of Dagger squad were walking close together, as would be expected. They just had to decide to follow their squad leader or their assistant squad leader. She couldn't imagine anything like that ever happening in RAIDERS.

“You sure we should trust these guys, Hav?” Brightstar whispered in her ear from her side. They both had been walking together since they split up. Although Beta's complaining had been dominating the conversation.

Havock eyed the Dagger squad members again. “I trust Ae, and Ae trusts Ray, and Ray vouched for them. So that's as good as it gets I suppose.”

“Wow, you really do get grouchy when the squad is separated.” Brightstar raised an eyebrow, but kept walking with her hands in her jacket pockets.

Havock growled back at the red-haired woman. “Squad separated, right.”

“Havock.” Njall slid up against a doorway and motioned her over. “That's the entrance to the lower levels of the command center, which according to Beta here, is where we will find the controls for the star port.”

“Good, you and Nelin got all your supplies ready. Because once we go in there is no turning back.” Both combat engineers exchanged a look before the private from Dagger squad spoke up.

“PFC Roberticus and I have already checked our gear ma'am.” Njall nodded then looked at Havock and smirked. It had been a while since anyone had been that formal with her from RAIDERS, and he knew it irritated her, especially when they were formal but wrong.

“Great but his name is PFC Archaeon, lets move. With me Vee.”

Decembrist and Havock walked through the doors first, there was a security guard just inside right in front of the entrance to the stairs that they needed to go through. He shook his head sadly but was smirking as she watched him pull out his combat knife, yet keeping it out of view of the ill fated guard.

“I'm sorry the offices are closed today, I'm going to have to ask you...people to leave.” The uniformed Arkanian man sneered at the off-worlders.

“They made you work all by yourself, with everything going on today? Thats just awful.” Havock didn't break her stride as she walked right up to the guard. She slammed her palm into the mans chest just below his neck, sending him crashing against the wall. While he struggled to regain his ability to breathe, she grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back so he couldn't grab his blaster pistol. She didn't have to hold him long, Decembrist was right there and slit the mans throat before he had the chance to even yell.

Havock let the lifeless man drop to the ground. “I'll find a place to put him, wouldn't want you to get yourself dirty or anything. Hate for you to have to take off your clothes.” He winked and got to work moving the guards body, leaving a scowling Havock rolling her eyes. I swear I'm going to kill him one of these days.

“Okay, Sarge, I'm looking over the security holo's and there are a few more police forces in the building on our way to the star port controls. The problem is here.” Tunrus the communications tech from Dagger squad pointed to another display. From the looks of it, the screen showed the in and outgoing messages. “It looks like someone called for backup. Militia forces if I'm not mistaken.”

She shook her head. The militia was also heading to reinforce the police, that meant they would be heading up to the floor with the police station. The floor where everyone else in the squad was.

The command center was one of the larger structures in the city, and it was right next door to the city hall. The building had several floors with a spaceport on the uppermost level the police headquarters below that, and several floors filled with offices of important people she was sure. The basement was where the computers were that ran the whole thing, and that was what they needed to get to. Havock's group would have to get down to the control room and make sure the star port controls were down then run back up to provide back-up for the other half of their group. Yea, nothing could go wrong there.

“Hav, we're ready.” Brightstar was watching the doors as she spoke.

“Okay lets move then, lets move fast and get this done. If we come across any police, lets do our best to not draw attention to ourselves.” Havock said the last few words looking directly at Decembrist. Then shook her head and headed towards the stairs.

“Nice car Mayor.”

The bearded man and his whisker moustache twitched at Ray’s bruised and grinning face. Sloan who sat seated next to the Mayor sneered at their captors silently as he stared at the butt-end of their blasters which they kept trained on their hostages.
It had been a slow ten minutes since they had taken Sloan and the Mayor hostage leaving the city with the dead body of their General and declared their requests and demands. How the city would react was up to the extent of the loyalty they held for their Mayor and Chief.

Aeos leaned back into her car-seat and glanced through the tinted windows at the outside. Their car was progressing a bit too slowly through the street and managed to catch a few faces of military men walking on the opposite side of the street keeping a wary eye on the vehicle.

“Driver, be a good fellow and get some music playing nê?” Aeos asked through the small window which was the only through-way between the front of the car and the back. The soldier who had ‘volunteered’ for this assignment gritted his teeth in anger reach over to the central unit located at his left.

“Star Blasters if you don’t mind.” She smiled sweetly at the man in his rearview mirror before turning around to face Sloan and the Mayor again.

“Star-Blasters?” Ray arched an eyebrow at Aeos.
“They do a good combination of mid-age instruments and modern vocaling.”

Ray snorted.
“Weird. I took your for a Blax-Super-Troopers type.”
“Pfft, those are like my mom’s favourite group. Seriously. “

Ray smirked at her but the expression disappeared as he trained his eye on Sloan again.

“So I can just imagine that they have this car crapped with hidden micro-phones. Don’t you agree partner?”

“I would say I agree Mister. But then again, they are trying to figure out whether we are working alone or with someone. Shall we disclose our secret? I think some of their men are coming a tad bit too close to our transport.”

Which was true as Aeos stole another glance through the window to the outside. The few random Arkanian Troopers she had spotted earlier had doubled in their numbers and halved their proximity to the car. She didn’t like this. Clearly they thought they could somehow control this.

“I’d say Aeos we can do that. “  Ray responded.

“Well, hmh. Why not have a grenade tossed about twenty meters behind our transport.  I’d guess they have a few patrol cars patro-“ BOOM!!

Their own transport shook violently but only for a second but then it stopped. A punch followed from Ray with the butt-end of his pistol towards Sloan.

“Did we say stop?” he hissed at the driver.

Aeos stole another glance through the window and saw with satisfaction the shadows pulling back on their distance.  Their message had been received loud and clear by the Arkanians and Aeos could only thank the ingenious suggestion Grahim had made to bug Aeos and Ray on all the Dagger, Raider and Rampage Channels.  She knew Raiders was still a few blocks away, awaiting them at the Spaceport but she still felt naked without them at her side. Covering for her ass.

The rest of the ride went without a hitch and Aeos slowly eased some of the breathing out which she had been holding.  Their hostages were sweating like pigs in their nervousness and Aeos could only rolls her eyes at the frail nerve-structure of guts all these Arkanians seemed to possess.
The hover-car stopped.

“We’re here.” The driver announced impassively and he opened their doors.

Aeos gestured for Ray to get out first with Sloan who was the larger Arkanian and thus would pose the bigger immediate threat. She scrambled out afterwards, basically hugging the Mayor to gain more proximity to his life-line.

Barely had she scrambled out of the car, and she tripped. It was a momentary failure of her physical balance. But somewhere there was an Arkanian sniper stationed to monitor these kinds of slip-ups and the sniper pulled his trigger onto Aeos. Chaos broke, and the last thing she saw as she fell to the ground was Havock rushing in from out the shadows and pushing her blaster against the old man’s head making threatening sounds.  She vaguely wondered to herself how Havock wasn’t with her team inside the building. But she soon forgot the thought.

Aeos sighed to herself in blackness. How could this have happened? These are passive people. She stopped bothering to think and plunged into the comfortable fluid of drifting.

“...move may...speeder...two min...” Havock grabbed both of her ears trying to hear the incoming message from Aeos. It sounded like she needed to move the mayor, Havock assumed thats what the garbled voice from her comlink was trying to say.

The rest of the squad had come to a halt on the stairway that would lead to the basement of the large structure that held the starport on the roof. Brightstar slowly walked towards the squinting squad leader. “Something wrong?”

Havock looked at Bright for a moment before keying in a private code in her comlink. “Jae.”

“What is it, what's wrong?” Came back the whispered reply.

“Stop what your doing and meet me at the lobby of the starport, the guards are down. Somethings up with Aeos and Ray.” Brightstar's gaze narrowed as Havock spoke. After a few more words, she clicked off the comlink and addressed the red-head in the dimly lit staircase. “I'm not sure what's wrong. Keep this stairway secure, I'm going back up to find out whats going on with Aeos then we will all regroup here and go to the control room together.”

Havock turned and walked through the empty lobby. Jaenna's group should arrive any minute, they had been working on clearing the stairway in the floors above the lobby. It was unnerving to walk through the lobby alone, especially with it vacant. She could hear her footsteps and they clinked across the shiny duracrete. She knelt down at the side of one of the large doors at the entrance and watched for Aeos.

There were police cars all over the place, zooming up and down the main road in front of the large starport. One lucky stroke was that they had closed the starport back when RAIDERS blew the dome to get in. Something about the change in pressure affecting the large doors in the dome that opened and closed to let ships in and out. Frankly, she couldn't care less the reason why, all that was important was that there were very few if any civilians in the building at the moment.

“You have five seconds to tell me what possessed you to come up here alone, before I start beating you with the broad side of my sword.” Havock slowly turned to the woman whispering in her ear. The rest of Jaenna's group was spread out in the room, their weapons ready.

“Well geeze, I missed you too hun.” She smirked, but Jaenna just continued to scowl at her. Havock did have a tendency to get herself into trouble, the green-eyed girl looking at her knew that better than anyone.
A speeder screeched up to the sidewalk in front of the starport building. It was large and black, and definitely belonged to someone important. The door opened and she could just make out Aeos as she started to step through the door, then something happened and she fell to the ground. “Stay here, cover me.”

Jaenna grabbed for Havock's shoulder and she could hear her mutter, “gods dammit, Hav.” But it was too late, she was already out the door, and she would just deal with the yelling she would get from her girl friend later. She grabbed Aeos with one hand and stuck her pistol in the Mayor's head with the other. “You think this is the only blaster pointed at you? Move, to the building, now.”

The mayor shifted his large weight out of the speeder as his eyes darted around the balconies and roof tops, he moved towards the building and Havock could see Ray behind Sloane with a pistol pointed at his back. She put her arms under the unconscious combat engineer's shoulder and lifted her off the pavement. Sloane came to the edge of the back seat, his legs turned out towards the sidewalk, then it happened.

The glass broke in the windows on the large speeder, the front ones first. She could make out a groan from what was the driver just a few moments before. Havock dived to cover Aeos and looked up just in time to see Sloane twist away from Ray, his body rocked awkwardly as he took a shot in the shoulder. The injury didn't slow him down, he kept running. Ray jumped from the vehicle and turned to go after the police chief. “Ray!”

The assistant squad leader of Dagger dove for cover and looked at Havock with a confused expression. “Let him go, help me now!” He hesitated again, but nodded and grabbed Aeos' other arm and together they both got her back in the lobby. The look on Jaenna's face told her that they would be having a very long and loud conversation later. “Snipers, where the hell did sniper's come from?”

“There is something else.” Icestone from Rampage walked up to her. “Some of my guys haven't checked in, its likely they have been found and compromised.”

Havock took some settling breaths. She could see Kanderin checking Aeos to determine what made her lose consciousness. She was a decent distance from the two of them, but she could see the combat engineer coming around. “Screw it, we need to disable the starport controls. The control room is in the basement, my team already has the stairway cleared so lets get down there and bust through the doors.”

Jaenna sighed. “That police chief that got away is going to be a problem, he will bring everyone he can find down on us.”

Havock nodded as did Icestone. “Thats true, but our objective is to take out the controls. So I say we get that done then we worry about Sloane's friends.”

OOC:
Okay, same group of Dagger's are with us and the Rampage SL (Icestone). And now we are all in one large group again. Head down to the basement to take out the starport controls, and plan on us having a small amount of resistance to get to the controls and a large amount of resistance when we try to leave. And don't forget we do have a hostage, the Mayor.

"Stop waving fingers at me" Aeos snarled, lashing out weakly at Kand. He simply shuffled to one side to avoid it and removed a small torch from the bag on his waist.

"Fine, fine, just look straight ahead for me. Do you remember what happened?" He asked, holding her eyelids open as he inspected her pupils with the lense.

"Some sort of explosion, I'd be damned if I know. I was too busy getting blown up"

Kand smiled, and after checking the second eye turned the torch off, depositing it back where it came from. He heard Havock come up behind him, so he leaned back close enough to her so he could whisper.

"She seems okay, but she's really grouchy. At worst I think she may be concussed, but there's nothing I can do for that here. Just keep her close, and if anything seems to get worse let me know straight away"

She nodded in response and patted him on the shoulder. "Thanks, that's a relief...I guess. Head up front and take point with Jae and Bright, I'll keep her close to me"

Once he had time to pack his equipment back up and move into his makeshift fire team, the squad moved on once more. The signs around them led the team somewhat awkwardly through a maze of corridors, each more unsettling than the last due to little more than the fact each seemed emptier than the last. They went from a couple of civilians attempting to hide themselves weakly to little more than distant shouts as they got closer to the staircase they required.

Then, they heard what they'd dreaded. A small explosion, and the sound of soldiers rushing inside the building. The squad immediately broke pace and sprinted to the nearest cover they could find, namely window arches overlooking where the shouting was coming from. Kanderin took a headcount of those he could see exploring the building and subconsciously went to relay it to Jae, who had taken the otherside of his window. She simply shrugged off the number and waved him to follow her.

"There's no point in counting them, trouble's trouble"

Havock nodded as her assistant passed her on their way down the staircase. "Let's just move quickly. They don't know where we are or where we're headed, so we should have a few minutes to get what we need, and if we're lucky maybe even get out again.

She made sure each trooper passed her before shutting the door's at the top of the staircase and making the way down herself. The descent turned on itself twice before opening out again, a large set of doors with small windows giving away glimpses of a wave of computers. A couple of well placed kicks later, the squad were inside, Jaenna and Bright immediately moving over to what they assumed was the main control panel, separate from the rest and slightly larger.

After a couple of minutes of button clicking, Jae swore to herself and turned to face the squad. "This thing is far too complex to break into without some serious time. Might as well just blow the thing to bits"

"Yeah, and alert every fricking gun up there to where we are" Kand responded "Sure fire way to get ourselves killed"

"You have a better idea smartass?"

"I'm open to anything that doesn't end with me dying down here" Bright chimed in, distracting Jae's glare from Kand for a while.

"You both are right" Hav shrugged "We don't have any time to waste, so explosives are the way to go"

"Great, I'll get the welcome pack's ready" Kand snarled.

"No one said we'd be here when we destroy it. If we rig the place to blow then get well clear, we might get lucky enough to be able to slip around our friends out there as they rush to this mess"

"And if we cant?"

"That's the part where you're right - We're done for" She grimaced. "Either way, we need to get work on the charges"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Five minutes later, the room was ready. Four explosives, one on each side of the room, were all rigged to go off from one main detonator. The force of it, if calculated correctly, would make the room fall in on itself and possibly even make a few of the rooms above them fall in too, but that'd be little more than a bonus. They simply needed the computers out, afterall.

"Jae, take the point with Kand again. Let's try and get as close to the main staircase as we can without attracting any attention" Hav ordered "Once we cant get any further safely, we'll detonate the room"

“Do you people know who I am?!? If you continue to let these ruffians manhandle me, I shall be reporting all of you to the police.” The mayor tried to yank out of Demented and Decembrist's grasp once again. Unfortunately, he twisted right into the more frustrated man's fist.

“Vee!” Both Havock and Aeos yelled at the same time. The women were a few paces ahead of the two men and prisoner, behind them were Beta and Njall. Grahim was with Jaenna, Kanderin and Brightstar on point. She had lost track of Leon and the other squad members but she knew there were not far as they navigated the maze of staircases up to the control tower.

Decembrist glared at her. “This fat, old, pain in my ass is going to drive me completely insane. Let me knock him out or you take him.”

The mayor was still whimpering from the punch he had already received. He muttered incoherently about delivering things to people, and what was most likely his itinerary for the day. The blood from his nose was now turning his white beard a pinkish color.

“Do you really want to carry him Vee?” Aeos was still a bit groggy herself, but she was making quite an effort to hide it.

Demented smirked, and Decembrist grumbled and they both got back to dragging the disgruntled mayor towards the control tower.

--------------------------------~~~-------------------------------

“We are far enough now.”

“Shoosh!” Leon grabbed Njall's arm from behind. It looked like the combat engineer was about to snap back when everyone became aware of the slamming door and footsteps headed their way.

Njall jumped when Havock spoke in his ear. “Blow it now, Roberticus.” He nodded and pushed the buttons on his datapad.

The building rocked and she could hear yelling and a fresh wave of boots headed in all directions. “Time to go, move.”

----------------------------~~~----------------------------------------

Everyone turned and ran as fast as they could up the stairs. Just a five more flights and they would be there. The majority of the boots were scampering away from them at the moment. They were going to check the damage, see if there was a error if that was the reason for the explosion. The police had to know that it wasn't, they had to suspect that it was the invading troopers that caused all of this. But police had to follow procedures, poor saps.

Four more flights...

The mayor was grunting behind her as he tried to keep up, they didn't have the time to slow down. They had to reach the top of the control tower before the police figured out where they were. She knew that meant they would eventually be boxed in, but they would figure out what to do about that when they got there.

Three more flights...

Aeos smashed into her as something hit the door they were passing. “Sorry Hav.” Havock grabbed her and got them both upright and running again. They were lucky that door had been locked or damaged in the blast.

Two more flights...

Jaenna had taken a lead on Brightstar and Grahim. She always had been a good runner, but the number of stairs were taking there toll on them all. Everyone was breathing hard and starting to slow down. “Come on guys, two more flights and we are at the door.” Only when she spoke did Havock realize just how out of breath she had become.

One more flight...

Jaenna was already at the door, she had knelt down to work on the controls to open it. The boots were all heading upward now, right towards them. The door hissed open to reveal five techs at their posts and a dozen police officers who all turned slowly towards the now open door. Most of them had been on their comlinks to various officials, probably keeping them up to date. Now the voices of those on the other line screamed for attention and everyone stared at each other for several long seconds.

Havock rushed past everyone, and nodded to Grahim and Brightstar, together they opened fire on the still stunned occupants.

Njall opened fire on the police with the rest of the squad, who scrambled to pull out their own blasters while the present techs dived for cover.  Someone hit one of the policemen in the chest with a blaster bolt, killing him instantly and leaving the rest of them looking for cover.  The comms that had been thrown to the floor kept yelling into the room, looking for someone to answer their questions but really doing nothing more than adding to the confusion.

“Hav, I think that we’re going to be getting company soon.  I’m pretty sure I heard another detachment of police heading up towards us!”  Demented yelled out.

Njall spotted one of the police making a move towards his comm, in an effort to get backup to their position.

“Oh no you don’t.”  Njall muttered

He pulled his laser screwdriver out of his utility belt and blasted the
officer in the face with a laser beam, knocking the officer to the floor and killing him.  Jaenna noticed a couple spare metal parts lying on the floor and quickly ordered Beta and Brightstar to use them as a block for the door, in an attempt to block the police reinforcements that would soon be arriving.  The attempt came about just in time, as everyone in the squad began to hear the tramping of police boots only a couple floors below them.  A blaster bolt came flying from a police gun, barely missing Decembrist’s foot.

“Alright you little…,” Decem snarled, “Let’s see how much you like it when someone’s shooting you instead!”

The policeman in question promptly received ten blaster bolts in his body, courtesy of Decembrist.  The sound of the reinforcements was getting ominously louder, as they drew closer to the squad’s position.

“Guys,” Havock said, in a commanding voice, “look, if we can take out these guys, we can take control of the tower and we might stand a chance against the incoming police.  That is, if we have to face them at all.  Jae and Aeos, you two get down and try to sneak behind them.  We’ll draw their fire and attention while you get there, and then you two can surprise and kill them.  Go now.  Hurry!”

The two complied, getting down and starting to slowly crawl across the room.  As they did, Njall and Beta moved forwards and drew the fire of the policemen, before diving behind a barrel.  Three officers approached the barrel, trying to sneak up and kill the two troopers.  Just as the three officers reached the hiding place, both Njall and Beta popped up and shot them down, before turning their attention to the six remaining policemen.  They fired furiously, but the bolts missed and instead killed one of the unarmed techs that were crouching on the floor.  Njall shrugged and kept firing, although a feeling of anxiety was staring to work his way through his body.  The sound of the approaching police reinforcements was now one, maybe two floors down.  He glanced at the floor, and saw that Jae and Aeos had almost made their way fully behind where the police were.  Njall frowned and prepared to confront hostiles that were possibly imminent, along with the ones that were still alive in the room already.  It was do or die time.

Bolts were firing in every direction, it was just a storm of color and fog. Jaenna and Aeos were opposite the door and had taken out a couple more tech's at their station. The situation didn't look all that bad, they had managed to take out half the force in the first volley of fire. Now things were getting messy, but Havock couldn't see it lasting much longer.

She saw it a second before it happened. Brightstar was distracted, the large man took aim at her chest. Havock saw it just in time, she took off running low to the ground right at the police officer. She fired two shots into his gut just before slamming into him hard enough to knock him completely off balance. She had to twist and grab the man so that he fell on top of her as they both fell to the ground. Once they landed Havock put her pistol to his forehead only to find out that he was already dead, after her two rounds she had fired into him, he took a few more shots that finished the job for her.

The bolts were flying above her head, but the dead officer proved as a decent shield for any of the police that attempted to shoot her. From the ground, Havock fired both of her pistols at the remaining  Arkanians. In another five minutes it was all over.

She let her head fall back and her arms to the side and she looked up at the now colorless smoke all around her. They still didn't have much time the police and probably militia was on their tail. From out of nowhere, a very strong hand grabbed the front of Havock's jacket and another the back of her head. “What the frack?”

A very relieved Jaenna dropped Havock back to the floor with a thud. “Ow, geeze.”

“Sorry.” She smirked. “You really like scaring the crap out of me don't you?”

Havock looked up as Leon and Ray rolled the police officer off of her and Kanderin jumped to her other side. “Injuries?”

She waved him away. “No, I'm fine. Seriously. Everyone else?”

“They look good, Ray and I just checked everyone. Grahim has a burn on his upper right arm, but nothing a bacta patch won't clear up.” Kanderin held out his hand and helped her to her feet, Jaenna had already gotten to work on the computer system. Havock looked at her for a long time before turning to the others.

“Okay Aeos, Njall, Leadfoot. You three get to work on sealing that door back before the calvary arrives.    Icicle you and Leon work on the comm system. See if you can intercept any comm traffic, then try to jam the police and militia channels. Demented you keep an eye on the Mayor. The rest of you get in defensive positions, we are going to have to hold this position.”

Everyone got to work. Havock sighed and looked back over at Jaenna who was still deep in concentration at the main terminal in the control tower. Now that the smoke was clearing and she could see through the windows that surrounded the room. The whole city could be seen, despite the situation, it was a very beautiful view.

She walked over and leaned against the panel, in the distance she could hear yelling and boots heading their way. “I don't try to scare you, no.”

“Hav, I know.” Jaenna turned to look at her. “I can get into the main computer, or whats left of it after we blew the mainframe. But the damn controls for the transperisteel doors in the dome. If we can't fix that we can't let anyone land whether we want to or not.”

A bolt sizzled past the two women causing both of them to duck and draw their weapons simultaneously. Aeos fell back away from the door controls as they popped and the door shook closed. “That will not hold them for long.”

Havock turned back to Jaenna. “You keep working on the controls. Demented bring the Mayor over here. Leon, Grahim you help us cover these two. The rest of you get down, use the bodies for cover if you have to.”

-------------------~~-------------------------

“Are you done yet, beautiful?” Decembrist yelled from behind three bodies which he had been using as a shield. They had injuries, but nothing that had taken anyone out of the fight just yet.

Jaenna and Havock turned to glare at the sergeant, one of them managed to growl at him. “Almost.”

The blaster fire was everywhere, but the police had not managed to get in. Just a few more minutes and Jaenna would have manual control of the starport and they could land more troops. “Aeos!” The woman twisted towards Havock. “Got anything that might help our situation?”

The combat engineer nodded and pulled out some kind of grenade that Havock couldn't identify. She didn't really care, she knew that Aeos knew what she was doing. Well, she hoped Aeos knew what she was doing. Her health hadn't been the best, they were about to find out.

A loud 'bang' shook the tower and sent a plume of smoke into the room. She could hear several screams and thuds of bodies hitting the floor. The door made a squealing sound and crashed to the floor. The remaining police could be heard shuffling down the stairs.

“Got it!”

Everyone turned their eyes from the door to look at Jaenna. “We now have manual control of the whole starport, and we can open the transperisteel doors whenever we need to.”

PHASE TWO!

Your objective is to capture the headquarters of Ferris Genetics. This is one of the larger companies based off of Arkania, and their influence is considerable. By capturing the Joint-Chiefs of this corporation, Joel and Jeremi Ferris, we can ensure that the Ferris Genetics will hand over its holdings to us peacefully.

You will be joined by an additional Stormtrooper company and a regiment of Army troopers, all under the command of Major Tara Oulith, a Stormtrooper herself.

The city has been roused. You will face thousands of angry Arkanians, civil police forces, and militia. Show no mercy. Teach them the cost of resistance, but leave the city itself intact.

Sirens were blaring all over the city. RAIDERS had received their orders just before they left the control tower. They had been ordered to make their way to the headquarters of Ferris Genetics, and to capture the joint-chiefs of the company, but not to kill them. The tall building loomed over the city scape with its crystal appearance as it narrowed towards the top. Havock looked at the pictures and maps on her datapad for the hundredth time while everyone else continued to get dressed in their snowtrooper uniform.

The members of Dagger squad under the command of their ASL and Rampage squad were in the control tower of the starport supervising the landing of troops in the trade city, and keeping the Mayor company. RAIDERS had to double time back to the basement in the city where they had left their gear. Now that the whole damn city was alerted to their presence, so it was better to be protected, not that they blended in very well anyway.

The other half of Dagger squad was presumably still running a muck in the city, she wasn't sure what they hoped to accomplish now but she had the feeling they hadn't seen the last of them.

“How far away is this Genetics lab?” Jaenna walked up in her snow gear. The city was larger than one would guess. And the Ferris Genetics headquarters was in the more industrial area surrounded by various other corporate headquarters for local and off-world companies.

Neither of them had put on their helmets yet. So when Havock finally looked up she was met by those sea-foam green eyes and a determined gaze. “Its a bit larger than a lab, and pretty far actually. We are going to have to fight most of the way, but the troops that are landing are going to meet us just off the main road...here.” She shrugged. “So the faster we get there, the better.”

“And we will be in charge?”

“Heh, no. Actually this Major...umm...Major Tara Oulith, she will be in command.” She showed Jaenna the personnel information for Major Oulith, she had blonde hair and a very stern expression on her face. Why did she have the feeling the Major and Jaenna would not be getting along?

Aeos walked up to the pair. “Everyone is all set.”

Havock nodded to Aeos then nudged the other woman next to her. “Get em' prepped Jae.”

“Alright everyone, listen up.” The squad gathered closer, although Leon and Beta, who had been sitting together still seemed to still stay slightly apart from the rest. “The police and militia are looking for us. They are spread out across the city though, so we shouldn't encounter more than a standard patrol until they zero in on our location. There is no more screwing around. We are to engage any enemies we come across.” Havock coughed which made Jaenna sigh. “But lets try to still not draw too much attention to ourselves.” She turned back to look at the squad leader and muttered. “Happy?” Havock just smirked and motioned for her to continue.

“For now we stick together, and meet up with the reinforcements. Once we rendezvous with them we will be heading for the Ferris Genetics headquarters to capture the joint-chiefs. Any questions?”

Havock stood up and made her way next to Jaenna. “Good, lets move out.”
