I think its high time we establish a topic for it. Well hopefully the topic holds. Well, I know I make alot of the banners here and shiz, but I think we need to establish a standard with which banners can be done. A practical size for Comnet, your eyes and our connections. I know, each time I make a banner, I go a few pixels bigger. Which I really shouldn't do. I personally like what Ron has done, small 'logos' of whatever he presents. Competition banners is fine, and I don't suppose anyone will every for the flashy banners Jesters once had for Xmas... >> << That was a bit much. The official max width and height for the signature banners are:
Width: 480 pixels
Height: 100 pixels
Obviously, anything smaller than those sizes are fine.
The max size of the signature image is 25k bytes.

Guys, when you make banners.
Soft colors preferably. The bright green such as Helena's nifty YFC banner is a bit bright XD
And I think we need agree here on a acceptable size maybe.
I've talked with Doc, Ron, and they both agree that we need some standardizing.
Height: 70 pixels
Width: 370 pixels

Note to those of us who are transparent savvy: those dimensions apply to only the visible image, so you may have to use your program's "autocrop" tool to cut off the excess transparency around the image in order to make sure that the image can be cleanly used on the boards. There should ideally be a maximum for ALL banners combined. Not sure how to have that established, and I like to trust folk's common sense, but I think some guidelines are good there as well |

Bit more discussion has been made, a limit of 16 KB file size for all images in signatures combined is considered reasonable. Although this is not an official ruling, we do like to see you hold true towards it.
