Praexus had left a bad taste in Jaenna’s mouth. The squad had lost both Ron and Rogueboy within two or so hours. The Rain Maker ended up being a psychotic asshole, and then Rask killed himself. Leaving Jae to commandeer his data pad and hack into it herself in order to find and download the specs for the communications tower of the entire small planet onto her data pad. The entire squad needed to rest. Morale was doing from losing members and gaining new ones. The entire squad was still a little shaken from Hrail even.  Havock still had nightmares, Joamers one arm acted up every now and then, Karash was still a little tired from all of the Medic work he did… Everybody just needed a good rest. Which was why Jaenna was so glad to be sitting at her desk right now, working out the message she would send to her squad, telling… no… asking them to meet her at the brand new Mandabaal Yacht that she had just bought for a little squad trip.

They would simply go around the system for a week or so. Relaxing and just having some time off from the duties of the Empire. Jaenna was confident that Iron Horse and Wraith could hold up the RAIDERS part of WildCard while they were gone. Hopefully… she was right. Jaenna didn’t feel like getting a message in the middle of her much needed vacation tell her to speed her brand new Yacht home, just to go on another god-forsaken mission. With a sigh, she pressed ‘send’ and the message flew through the wireless system with ease, popping up at each of her troopers’ screens. A week. One week away from everything, spending time with friends. Just having fun. It was definitely something that they all needed. Jaenna was more than happy to be the one to put forth the idea and make it happen.

Not only was her squad coming on the vacation, but she had come back from Praexus to a message about another new recruit to be put into RAIDERS. Ferris something or other. So, Jaenna, being the amazingly nice person she is, sent out an invitation to Ferris as well.

“Ahh. Now to head to my… sadly still unnamed ship.” A chuckle was released from her pale pink lips as she rose from her desk, turned off her computer and grabbed her duffle bag. Her ship was still unnamed. See as how it was just delivered to the hanger the night before. “Hopefully, Havock will be able to help me name it.” She said, speaking to no one in particular, happy to know that no one was around to hear her. But then, something stung at her stomach. A certain emptiness. She cringed softly, her sea foam eyes darkening for a moment as her left hand clenched her stomach.

She knew exactly what it was about, too.

“I miss him… So much.” Jaenna stood there, staring at the floor for a long, silent, few moments, thinking about Rogueboy. Sure, they hadn’t been dating for very long, but she still felt rather strongly about him. She had those feelings for a while, and was ecstatic once she found out that he shared those feelings. She shut her eyes and thought about how she had almost included his name in the sending list for her vacation message. She could feel the sting of the salty tears well up behind her eyelids, but refused to let them fall. It hadn’t been physically spoken that her and RB were over anyways. The boy had only transferred squads after all.

“I’ll… I’ll just contact him on the trip. Y-yeah. I’ll do that.” She spoke to herself quietly, in an attempt at a convincing voice. Finally, she took a deep breath and opened her eyes once more, then made her way out of her Condo, heading for the hang to meet up with the others, ready to go on this trip.

OOC:
Shoosh. I know it's short. It was just to open up the damn story anyways. You guys have fun posting. This is going to be fun. It's just a simple week long trip around the star system in Jae's new unnamed Mandabaal Yacht.

Joamer sat reclined in one of his chairs, the half disassembled Armat M41-A Pulse Rifle sitting in his lap. He slipped the trigger housing into place and locked the retaining ring into place. Flipping the rifle over he began working on the handle, luckily he was almost done and it did not take long to finish the rifle.

He squeezed the trigger and heard a soft click, nodding to himself he set the rifle on the table and leaned back.

He sighed softly and closed his eyes, he did not react much when a light weight object landed in his lap. A soft chirping squeak followed the dull thud of his Strill being playful. He felt her turn several circles before laying down, a deep rumbling growl emitted from her throat as she went back to sleep.

He shook his head as he ran his hand down her small body gently. She gave out a soft mew as she rolled over, he laughed and he rubbed her stomach slowly.

A beep from his datapad caused him to sit up slowly, carefully so as not to disturb Lurk. He picked it up and leaned back before tapping the screen. He opened the recent message and waited for it to load. He read the message from Jaenna slowly before looking down at the half sleeping form of his Strill.

"You up for a vacation?" He said softly. Most people did not know Strills were intelligent, and able to understand a wide range of speech, specially if they were around humans from an early age. So he was not surprised when Lurk opened one eye lazily and murmured a few times.

"Alright then, off you go. I have to pack a few things then we head out to the landing port." Lurk grumbled something softly but jumped off his lap and glided across the room to one of her perches.

Standing up slowly he stretched tired muscles. It had not been long since they had got back from Praexus, and they were still tired, emotionally as well as physically. He might of not been with them long on that planet, but he still felt worn out. The events of Hrail were still with them all.

His left arm twitched a few times but he ignored it. The Doctors said it was nothing they could do, something with the datachip implanted in his head. They said they would have to go back into his brain and replace it, he had declined and left that office very quickly. He could live with a arm that spazed out every once in awhile.

He walked around his room slowly, looking at things. A dozen projects sat in various stages of completion around the room. Every inch of wall space was taken up with shelves and cabinets for his collection of toys. The bed was unmade, but luckily most of his clothes were put away. So the room was in fact organized, slightly.

He walked up to one of the shelves and picked up a his pistol harness. He slipped it around his waist and locked the clasp. Then picking up his Frontier Model B pistol he holstered it before kneeling down and pulling out two cases below one of his desks.

He placed both of them on the bed then opened them. Walking back to his table he picked up the completed Pulse Rifle, and both of his saber knives. He worked quickly as he packed all three items into their storage cases then closed and locked both.

Walking to a closet he grabbed a duffel bag and a weeks worth of clothing. As well as his floor length leather jacket. He slipped the jacket around his black sleeveless shirt, and looked down at his jack-boots. They needed a cleaning, but were otherwise fine for the trip.

He knew he would have to have whoever cooked made sure to leave the raw meat scraps out, so he did not bother to collect a weeks worth of raw meat. Besides, he couldn't carry that much in one trip anyways. Shaking his head he walked to another cabinet and opened it. Quickly grabbing several cartridges and magazines he filled another bag and placed it on the bed.

Turning a slow circle he looked around and nodded to himself. He then used a spare strap and tied both cases together, luckily they had been designed to do this so it was a easy process, and quite safe. He put the strap around his shoulders and picked up his other bags.

Turning for the door he whistled and felt Lurk land on his shoulder. He stepped out into the empty hallway and closed his door before turning towards the squads designated landing pad.

It was a short walk to his personal bay door, he keyed in his security code and waited for the door to open. Luckily most of his ships had been moved to his new complex a hours drive away. Which left only a few toys sitting here. One of the toys sat near the back looking pretty all by itself, it was like the other items feared it and were trying to escape.

Joamer walked up the KC-2019 Motorcycle and smiled. He looked at Lurk and nodded to himself. Quickly securing all his gear onto the cycle he sat down and keyed for engine start. The soft purr of the V-Six Twin Overhead Cam engine caused him to grin. Most people said upon seeing her that having an engine of that size was overkill, but he only shrugged. Finding the proper fuel for one of these in this day and age was difficult, and very expensive. Sitting on her as she screamed down the road was well worth the price though.

He picked Lurk up and placed her in his lap, then he fastened a specially designed harness around her and attached it to the bike. In the event of a crash she could escape from it in half a second, he would not be so lucky though.

He dropped her into gear and eased out of the small storage bay. He hit a button on the console in front of him and watched as the doors closed. Giving her more gas he increased speed and hit the highway. He popped her into the last gear as he screamed down the highway doing well over 220 KM/H.

The trip ended as he arrived at Jaenna's Mandabaal Yacht. It sat empty with the loading ramp up and secure. He angled the bike into some shade and shut down the engine. He locked the kickstand and sat back to wait for the others.

Akilaa wasn’t one for big entrances, she didn’t like being centre of attention but this time she was going to make an exception. She’d recently left her mother to join the Corps and she was missing her greatly, she was hoping the frail widow would cope on her own. Akilaa shook her head to get all the bad thoughts cleared in her head. The weather where she was kept in holding and waiting for her transport caused her to have a slight light head, she wasn’t very good in hot climates she was used to snow and rain. As she gazed around the corner from where she sat, she felt a vibration in her left pocket.

“Frack! What the hell is that…” she snarled.

It was her comlink with a message from her Squad Leader from the newly assigned squad. She hadn’t even met the woman yet but she was very excited she wouldn’t be the only woman there. She hoped to the heavens that she wouldn’t be the only girl. Not after the unwanted, yet slightly put on herself attention she received before hand. Sure she was more than a flirt, but she didn’t expect the men to actually come onto her, she wasn’t prepared for that. As she opened the message, the comlink beeped.

“Akilaa ‘Ferris’ Roellun, I’m hereby inviting you on vacation with us. Pack your things and I’ve arranged for your transport to pick you up exactly 15 minutes later than scheduled.”

Akilaa blinked blankly at the screen. She had packed EVERYTHING she currently owned, so surely that couldn’t be harmful to take. Sure it was heavy to carry but at least she wouldn’t be caught short. A few minutes passed before Akilaa’s transport had arrived. She hauled her luggage into the ship and she was away.

It wasn’t a long journey and not scenic to say the least. Akilaa sat back in her chair and sighed. She was exhausted, she’d already travelled to get here, now she has to travel again to go on vacation.

“I guess I shouldn’t complain. I could have been transferred in the middle of a mission… This way at least I can get to know them properly plus I think I need the vacation after what I’ve been through” she smiled to herself.

She had finally arrived after a small doze in the chair, the small jitter of the engine coming to a stop caused her to jerk forward and awake before her head had hit the wall.

“I guess we’re here then. I’d better wait before I start to introduce myself. I’m feeling rather nervous. Other people can come and greet me” she nodded nervously, her hands shaking slightly as she moved herself to look out the window.

There was already someone there, waiting. It was of a male build, but Akilaa thought it would be better for them to come to her. She crossed her fingers in hope they’d be friendly.

Havock shot up in bed. She was breathing heavy with beads of sweat on her forehead. Waking up enough to take inventory of her surroundings. Havock could see that she was indeed in her bed, on Tadath. Hav preferred to stay in her bunk in the barracks, although the thought of getting her own apartment somewhere had been occurring to her.

Hav realized that she was not covered, looking around she found the sheet and pillow on the floor. She took a deep breath and fell back to the bed with a 'humf'.

Havock couldn't remember the last time she had slept restfully. Lately, she woke up at all times and rarely slept through the night. The bed always in some state of disarray from her thrashing from some nightmare.

Hav ran a hand through her damp hair, and only then became aware of the beeping coming from her datapad across the room. Lifting her head to look at the offensive device, Havock narrowed her gaze wondering who could be wanting her so early. Rolling her feet to the floor and now being in view of the chrono, Hav realized that it was not as early in the morning as she had first thought.

Stretching, Havock softly padded over to the table and punched the buttons to pull up the message. Havock read the message from Jaenna, then smirked as she put the datapad down. Getting away did sound like a good idea, and maybe that is what Havock needed.

Yanking her bag out from under her bunk, Hav shoved some clothes and supplies together. She opened her weapons cabinet and took inventory of her stash. It was a leisure trip, they shouldn't fun into any trouble but better safe than sorry.

Reaching in the cabinet Havock grabbed her hold-out blaster, and one of her DE-10 pistols. She always preferred to carry her two DE-10s, she had to remind herself that this was  a vacation and Jae was probably going to get on her for just taking the one.

Before heading out, Havock took a quick shower and dressed in her typical civy outfit. She wore olive cargo pants with a black shirt and vest, the more pockets the better. She also made sure to put her bracelet over her tattoo on her wrist.

Her hair was still wet from the shower as she approached the hanger Jae used to dock her Mandabaal Yacht. Havock couldn't remember her listing a name for the ship, she would have to ask Jae about that. Havock smirked as she saw Joamer sitting on his KC-2019 Motorcycle talking to a young girl with a rather large bag sitting next to her.

Havock walked up to the duo and waved at Joamer. “Hey Joa.”

“Hey Havock, this is Akilaa.” Joamer pointed to the girl standing next to him. She was about Havock's height, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Havock recognized her name, they had been notified that they were getting a new trooper and it appeared that Jae had decided to invite the girl along.

“Nice to meet you Akilaa, welcome to the squad.” Havock nodded turned back to Joamer only then noticing that he had brought his strill he had told her about. “Are we ready to go?”

Joamer glanced around. “I think we still need to wait for a few more, and I haven't seen Jaenna yet.”
The three of them broke out into conversation waiting for the others to arrive.

Zhar Hoover Wilson Bacredi who had just been assigned to RAIDERS Squad—something he wasn’t overly pleased about—made his way to the starport. He was wearing a pinstripe suit with a white shirt and a blue and white striped tie. He had relinquished his pistol to his suitcase (which he was carrying in one hand) and his shoulder holster to his briefcase (which he was carrying in the other). He felt naked, just naked, not to have a pistol or any weapon on him. But Bacredi had begun to feel the need to lean away from carrying a weapon and learning more … diplomatic solutions. That’s why you join the army, right?

Bacredi’s sunglasses reflected the light into many other people’s faces as he walked into the Tadath starport, once he was inside he began to re-introduce himself to the squad. He pulled a three-way folded sheet of paper out of his shoulder pocket and handed it to Sergeant Caldwin. The sheet was issued by some platoon commander of sort and was co-signed by High Colonel Harper—head of Army Intelligence Operations and former counterpart of Bacredi. Bacredi had moved from Vast Empire Intelligence (from which he had moved from the Vast Empire Navy) and into the Vast Empire Army. The Army Command—realizing that he had ‘worked’ with RAIDERS—placed him there.

“First Sergeant Zhar Hoover Wilson Bacredi, reporting for duty.” Bacredi finished, throwing off a jackass version of a salute.

“Load your things onto the ship, Sergeant.” Caldwin said—he noted her hostile tone towards the former agent. Almost everyone had a hostility for the agency, though, and that they had secretive aroma around them. He did as he was told, and loaded his things up onto the ship. He found that it was time to at least carry a knife around in this…environment, and pulled out his knife from his briefcase and hooked it to his inside pocket. He un-buttoned his jacket and walked out of the ship.

“Now what are we doing today?”

Karash was scuttling around the room looking for anything and everything that he might need whilst on this so called ‘vacation’ with the rest of Raiders squad. He normally prided himself on being organised however now Karash could not seem to find a single thing amongst the piles of mess and on top of all this he was getting later and later.

“Where the hell is that gone?” Karash was frantic. “I don’t see the point in this anyway, bound to be a complete disaster.”

Karash had not been in any state of organisation since they had come back from their latest missions; during which he seen some horrific things as well as manage to stop some of the squad members before they came back with missing body parts. Finally he managed to find the tiny little capsule he was looking for and with that Karash picked up his bag and made his way to the transport that would take him to Jaenna’s Mandabaal Yacht.

“I presume you know where you’re going?” Karash snapped at the pilot.

The person simply replied with a nod to which Karash scowled at; one other thing about Karash that had changed slightly was his demeanour. He was a arrogant snob at the best of times however he had become far more agitated, not aggressive, just agitated. The bags sat not too far from Karash contained enough clothing to last a week, some weapons just in case and his usual medic kit.

The spent in the transport was reasonably quick and passed without any real significance but on arrival, and seeing everyone else standing there, Karash realised just how untidy he looked. His shirt was not tucked in, his shoes we not particularly clean and his hair was a mess. But he had no to time to make any real difference to that and just pushed his shirt in, put a jacket on and decided the hair would have to wait as was being beckoned over.

“Now what are we doing today?” A voice said. Karash realised that it Bacredi who must have been placed in the Raider.

There were also the familiar faces of Havock and Jaenna as well as Joamer of whom Karash still hadn’t really spoken to. Also there stood a female figure that Karash was not familiar with, “It must be… what was her name…Akilaa?”  He thought to himself. The conversation as Karash just went on passed them all, to put his stuff on the ship, he noticed the odd looks his med kit got as they probably had one but Karash would not make any assumptions and took his own.

Karash probably was in need of a vacation but with other people might not have been the best of ideas but he was here now and went to join the rest of the squad.

The ground beneath Akilaa began to have circles in it as the toe of her shoe was being dragged along it. She often did this as a sign of nervousness, but she tried to not let the others catch on. She blankly stared into Havock’s eyes as she was speaking to her before shaking her head back to reality.

“I’m sorry hun, what was that?” She blushed, averting her eyes to Joamer.

Joamer seemed to be looking at her back, but his emotions were uncertain to Akilaa so she stopped looking at them completely. She threw her bags into the ship, and smiled in hope the two would follow her. Her heart was beginning to race for some unknown reason to her, as Joamer and Havock were quick to follow.

“So, Akilaa, tell us about yourself eh? I’ve not heard much about you” Joamer smiled, taking her by the hand and showing her to a seat. Hav and Joamer then sat down with the others following to hear what she had to say.

“Bah, you honestly don’t want to hear much about me. It’s rather boring. I’m a normal girl just chasing normal dreams. There’s nothing special about me… Although… There’s something special about you…” She smiled at Havock.

Her eye contact that was locked with Hav’s got interrupted by Joamer coughing and slamming some cards onto the table besides them. Akilaa quickly nodded into a game to pass the time. She couldn’t believe she’d only been there a matter of minutes and already flirting. That was a lesson in itself, she doesn’t hang around. Especially not after recently losing her boyfriend.

“You’re good at this!” Joamer shouted, slamming the cards down causing a slight echo in that part of that ship.

“Yeah well, I used to play back at home when my father was ill. I guess I found something I’m good at then” she winked, spreading her deck of cards from her hand and onto the table.

“You sure are” Joamer nodded in agreement.

They had played a few hands, all three of them were good. Something told Joamer he used to be better, some memory tugging at the surface. He hated not knowing his full past, even after all this time he had problems remembering the old days. Sometimes things he remembered should of stayed forgotten.

Sometime before Lurk had curled up in the center of the table and fallen asleep. They had started playing Sabacc around her, the soft growling purrs added a soft background noise to the gentle banter between the three squad mates.

He had not commented when Akilaa made the statement of Havock being special. A short time ago he had dug up part of his past that he rather wished he could forget. Unknowingly he had dug up a part of her past as well. He glanced at the small leather wristband covering his right wrist, he did not need to look to know Havock had her own mark covered.

Starring at the cards in front of him he mumbled to himself. The cards had changed to the Ace, and two threes. They had been playing the three card version from the start, and his hand only slightly sucked. At the last round he flipped over his cards in disgust he had always hated losing, especially with that hand.

A memory surged from the depths of his mind suddenly. His expression went blank as he remembered a time long before this day. He did not acknowledge Havocks worried face as he stood up and walked away, all he could do was remember.

He was nineteen, it was the year the Republic had begun what one day would be called the clone wars. He doubted he could have cared less. He was one of the Black Sun, a mid ranking Officer in one of the most respected organizations in the Universe. He had respect, money, power, and the arrogance to get himself into trouble.

He was dressed in expensive Alderaanian silk, black long sleeved shirt over a dark grey tunic. His pants looked expensive, but in truth they were simple soldiers pants. The same for the jack-boots he wore. The AE-10 sitting on his hip had saved his life more then once, and the way this game was going it might do it again soon.

"Alright, bantha fodder. Let's say we up the stakes." A rather ugly Human said from across the table. Some time ago the other games had stopped and everyone had crowded around the two men playing a very high stakes game of Jhabacc.

Joamer smiled, he had been waiting for this fool to up the stakes. He waited a long moment before saying "Agreed, how about this. If I win your mistress over there belongs to me." He eyed her with a dirty expression when he finished. He had spent some time cultivating the image he was a lecher, but in truth this fools mistress was the sister of his best friend.

"If I win, you belong to me." His opponent said, his grin had suddenly become dangerous.

"Deal the cards." Joamer said simply. A four-armed Kiughfid motioned for them to begin after he had dealt the current cards. This game was different, one round, one winner. Joamer knew his luck was in, he could feel it. He watched the cards change in his hand, two threes and the Ace popped up. He hid the smile, as he nodded.

"Show them." The dealer said.

Joamer placed his cards on the table and leaned back, he was not fool enough to bet his freedom on the chance he would lose. In truth this whole casino was under the Black Suns employment, his smile slid off his face as he saw what his opponent put down. He looked at the Mistress, and her two fives several times. He had a hard time believing he had lost.

He tried standing but suddenly lost his balance, his vision turned blue as he crashed to the floor. The last face he saw before he lost consciousness was of a smiling Dealer.

Joamer sighed as he returned to the present, he heard Havock come over and put an arm around him. He tried to shake the memory, but it only stayed firmly attached to his mind now, it would forever be apart of him.

"Another bad one." She said, it was not a question. Joamer nodded, as he looked out one of the view ports.

He turned around and locked eyes with her. His mind swam with difficult questions and possibilities, it always did when he looked at her. He knew what it was that he felt for her, he felt the same for another. He knew he was in trouble if either one of them found out.

He took her right hand and rubbed the small band covering her wrist. She nodded as understanding came, he closed his eyes as she placed her left hand on his shoulder.

"You are with us now, they can no longer hurt us." She said quietly.

Havock laughed, it felt better than she was willing to admit. Havock had joined in on a card game with Akilaa and Joamer. Hav couldn't remember playing much card games growing up. Jed played often, but it was usually late at night and she would sneak away to watch and see what they were doing and never participated.

She was dealt a fairly decent hand, as far as she could tell. The odd thing about this game was, it felt familiar. Havock chalked the feeling of deja vu up to her late night childhood spy missions, but she knew it was something else. She seemed to know how to play better than she should have, almost like she had been taught the game, except she hadn't been. Havock was curious about what Jed was doing so she did look up the basics and knew the rules.

Rubbing her eyes she re-focused on the hand she had been dealt and the players at the table. Akilaa was an interesting character indeed. Havock had no clue what she meant by saying that Hav was special. Hav was far from special, she was a nobody in every since of the word. She had no real family and a past made up of a collection of scattered existence. She hated the things she could not remember. Sometimes she imagined herself as a young child. Getting to play without a care in the world. But that child felt like a whole different person to the woman holding the cards at the table with her squadmates.

Akilaa set down her hand and winked at Hav. Havock just shook her head and smirked, setting down her hand and looking at Joamer. His eyes looked far away as he dropped the cards on the table, flipping them in disgust. The smirk dissolved from Havock's face as she watched Joamer get up and slowly walk away from the table. Akilaa started to get up too but she hesitated when Havock put a gentle hand on her arm and held up a finger to indicate the girl should wait there.

He didn't move for a few minutes, Havock knew all to well what was happening. They had talked about this after Havock's first awful nightmare. She remembered when he came to her bunk in the morning he had been jovial, looking to tease Hav and coax her into a cup of caf. When she opened the door her eyes were bloodshot and surrounded by dark and heavy bags. The room was in disarray, everything that was not bolted to the wall or floor was thrown about. Havock didn't even realize it until she saw the look on his face. They proceeded to have a long talk while he helped her get her room back together.

Havock looked at Joamer, he sighed and she knew he was back. "Another bad one." Joamer nodded and turned away from her and looked out the viewport. She was awful at coming up with the right things to say at times like this. So she just stood there taking a step closer and coming to his side. Joamer and her shared a bond from their pasts. Not only did they both have missing chunks, but they both had the Black Sun in that past. Joamer turned quickly and looked at Havock, they both stayed like that staring into each others eyes. Havock completely forgot where they were for a few moments they were just there, just the two of them.

Havock frowned as he gently took her right hand and touched the band covering the wrist. Anyone else would have probably been punched in the stomach for that, but not Joa. Hav just nodded and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"You are with us now, they can no longer hurt us." She said quietly.

Joamer smirked, just slightly. “Good advice, you should think about taking it. As far as I know you still haven't slept through the night. If you weren't so damn stubborn Karash could give you some meds to make sure you sleep.”

Havock took a deep breath and glanced down at her wrist that Joamer was still holding, rubbing the place where the tattoo was hidden with his thumb. “You and Jae both need new material.”

Hav shook her head and looked back up to lock eyes with Joamer again. “I think this vacation is going to be good for the both of us.”

Joamer looked like he was about to answer when Karash and Jaenna entered the room having a rather loud conversation about their route. They both skidded to a halt when they saw Hav and Joamer standing close to one another. Havock slid her hand off of Joamer's shoulder and he dropped her wrist simultaneously.

Karash recovered quickly. “Ah, Akilaa there you are.” He then trotted over to discuss some medical information, possibly some new method or tool he had found, Havock wasn't really paying attention.

Jae sent an oddly hostile glance at Akilaa as Karash approached her then looked back at Havock. “I think we are just about ready to go, so you two better get ready.” Jae mumbled out in Hav's direction before turning and heading towards the cockpit.

Both Hav and Joa watched her leave.

Joamer watched Jae leave, it was like being caught by parents. He felt empty when they had to separate, he felt whole with her, and with Jae as well. He could feel her body heat, they were standing dangerously close to each other. He turned to stare at her, she did not meet his gaze for a long time. Her eyes were still starring at the hatch Jaenna had exited the room from.

When she did meet his gaze he became lost in a sea of blue. This always happened when their eyes locked, he knew what it meant. Even after all his training he did not care, he suddenly found he wanted her. He wanted to hold her for every moment of every day. He wanted nothing more to call her his, and to have her call him hers. He wanted to grow old with her, to watch her sleep. He wanted her to be by his side during the long dark nights. He needed her more then anything in the Galaxy.

He picked up her right hand gently, his fingers slowly tracing the outline of hers. He reached up with his left hand and gently stroked her cheek. He noticed almost against her will her head pressed into his hand.

"Joa, I.." She began to say, but was cut off as he suddenly but gently gripped her shoulders with both hands. He shook his head from side to side for a second, then leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. He ignored the sudden gasp from Karash and Akilaa, he was lost in a perfect moment.

He felt her hands slide up his arms slowly, he lost track of time. He could only feel her breath on his, her hands on his neck. It ended when she pulled away suddenly, he looked into her eyes and saw a hundred emotions cross her face in half a second. She pushed him away and ran into the direction Jaenna had gone.

He stood rooted in place, he was still intoxicated by her very essence. He could still feel her where her hands had been, his arms and neck tingled with the memory. He looked over at Karash and Akilaa, Karash had a disapproving frown on his face. Akilaa was a mixture of hurt and amusement.

He heard running footsteps and saw her running out of the cockpit area. He took a step forward but stopped when she skidded to a halt. He saw tears in her eyes and took another step. He reached out his hands pleading to her.

"Ayme, I..." He did not finish the sentence as he bolted from the room to head deeper into the ship.

He sighed slowly several times and completely ignored the audience. Walking slowly to the cockpit he sat down in the co-pilots chair and begin preflight without being given permission.

He could feel Jae's eyes on him, he figured she knew he was involved in what had Havock running from them both. He wondered if she knew what had happened. Somehow she remained silent as he completed preflight and brought the engines online.

"Did you have a destination in mind?" He heard her soft voice suddenly. The sudden noise almost caused him to jump.

"I hear the Aurora is in the system for a time." He said softly, he avoided looking in her direction.

"That half mythical pleasure ship? The one with hundreds of nightclubs, bars, casinos, and a thousand other half illegal delights?" She asked in near disbelief.

"Trust me, she exists."

"Then by all means, set in the course." She said, her voice still carried a hint of annoyance.

He flipped a few more switches and felt the ships repulsorlifts engage. He knew the Aurora was in the system, he had pulled a lot of strings, and paid her captain a great sum of money to get him to bring her here. He knew the squad needed a break from all the stress.

Besides, he thought. I have a dance that was interrupted before it could end.

Jaenna knew what was happening. She wasn't stupid. Joamer had done something to show Havock that he cared for her. Thing is; Joamer thinks that he cares for Havock more than her. That thought almost made Jae laugh right in front of him. Jaenna had been through so much more. She had saved Havock countless times, been so close to her, taught her her how to spar. Havock and Jae have been close for so long. Then Joamer comes along and starts shoving his way into the equation. The very fact that Havock even seemed to like Joamer right back made Jaenna's stomach twist and turn. She refused to let Joamer take away what she knew she loved.

"The course it set, Jae." She heard Joamer say quietly. He knew that she knew something.

Jae nodded and stood after setting autopilot. "I'm going to lay down. I'm sure you can take care of yourself." She was hurt. She wanted Joamer to know that, to see it, to feel it. She turned and left, making her way down the hallway towards the bunk rooms. Joamer was left, his face full of confusion and a little twinge of worry.

Jaenna needed to do something about the feelings that kept gripping her heart and not letting go. She needed to find a way to be able to actually relax while on this vacation. That was the whole point of the trip after all. Relaxing. She had gone to all the trouble of letting Angel know that they were leaving for a much needed relax time, got the ship ready, did everything. She had even put in all of her trooper's leave notices herself. Too bad Jaenna wasn't feeling very relaxed yet. She knew the reason, too. The reason was in the door that she had stopped in front of, her seafoam eyes staring at the steel slab, as if willing for it to open, only fear was holding her back.

Sighing, her head slumped down as she was now staring at the ground. Jaenna has walked in and seen Joamer kissing Havock. Hav looked so happy, as did Jo. So Jae just left quietly and went back to her pilot's chair. But she couldn't just sit there and let it happen. She needed to tell Havock how she felt, now, today, right this second.

"I need to..." Another sigh and she finally took that last step towards the door, causing it to open automatically. The site that caught her wasn't what she expected. Havock was laying face down on her bed, the soft sounds of sobbing coming from the girl. "Oh god, Havvy..." Jaenna whispered as she rushed forward and sat down on the edge of the bed, placing a hand on Havock's back. The girl shook slightly and whimpered into her pillow. Jaenna moved her hand softly and gently along her back, sshing quietly. "It's okay, hun. Ssh. What happened?" Jaenna had a feeling she knew, but she wanted Havock to say it.

Havock shook her head.

With a soft chuckle, Jaenna positioned herself on the side of Hav, now laying down next to the girl, her hand still on Hav's back. Just laying there next to Havock sent a sort chill streaking through the Sergeant. She was so close to the girl, sharing the same pillow, sharing the same bed. It was so... wonderful. With a smile, Jaenna spoke softly. "Ayme, come on now. You can tell me."

Havock stopped shaking.

Jaenna cocked an eyebrow in soft confusion.

"He called me that... He called me Ayme."

"Joamer did?"

Havock nodded, her face still into her pillow, her voice muffled. "Yeah. After he kissed me. I couldn't handle it. I' so confused, Jae!" She started crying again.

"Geeze... I want to say that I'm going to kill Jo for making you cry, but I can't. Because I know that I'm part of the reason, too." Havock turned her head to the side, looking at Jae now. After a few silent moments, Havock turned full onto her side, facing Jaenna. They were so close... "I know... I know we still need to talk. I know that."

Havock nodded slowly.

"The thing is, Hav. I don't want to just talk. I already know what I want of it. I know what I've always wanted. I was just too blind to see it or talk about it until now. I know that keeping it from you has been hurting you and confusing you. Then Jo came along and just made things so much harder." Jaenna took a deep breath, readying herself. "I've finally come to not be such  wuss and just tell you how I feel. How I've ALWAYS felt. And yet I'm still laying here, with you so close to me, and I still can't bring myself to say it. I haven't said it for this long because of what I've been through. I've never been good with expressing my feelings. And I have to apologize to you for that, since I know that me keeping quite is part of what has been hurting you. But Havock... Ayme Katash. I..." She sighed and closed her eyes.

When Jaenna opened her eyes again, she saw only blue. The blue eyes that had drawn her so close to her fellow trooper. The blue eyes that Jaenna had been slowly drowning in for so long. Drowning in the feelings of care, compassion, heart felt emotions. Those blue eyes were so beautiful. The girl who held them as her own was beautiful. Jae didn't know what to do. That was so until she realized that the blue eyes were accompanying a smile. Jaenna chuckled and smiled right back at Havock. "I love you, Ayme." There it was. It was so simple, and yet those three words could change their relationship entirely. It scared Jaenna, but at the same time, it didn't. She just continued to lay there, thinking about what Hav would say. It scared her, and it made her happier than ever. But most of all....

She was scared of Jo.

Karash looked on to scene with a look of pure horror in his eyes; you could have mistaken it for being a murder scene from Karash’s expression. However a murder would have been more acceptable in his opinion. The embrace was over as soon as it had begun and in the split second before Havock ran off in the direction of Jaenna there was in burst of tension between Joamer and Hav.

“Well I never!” Karash tried to draw the attention to him but Joamer just stared blankly into the distance and Akilaa just seemed a little bemused.

Havock then burst out of the cockpit her eyes where bulging with tears and Joamer looked in a similar state, however he was managing to look a little less distraught.

"Ayme, I..." But the sentence did not get finished as Hav sped past and deeper in to the ship.

Joamer stood on the spot looking longingly into the distance and took several deep sighs before entering the cockpit and if Karash knew the Raiders SL like he thought he did, Joamer may not be coming back out. Karash then stood on the spot huffing and puffing just because he did not think that people were behaving quite as they should.

“What’s your problem?” Karash had forgotten that Akilaa was standing not to far from him.

“What’s my… my…” Karash did not have a retort that made sense so he just made a loud groan and sat down.

At that moment Jaenna walked out of the cockpit not looking as Karash had expected her to, she just glided past without so much a word and walked off in the same direction as Havock had done not too long ago.

“Shouldn’t we do something to help?” Akilaa asked once again.

“Unless they are injured I shall do my very best to keep out of it.” Although he would do his best to make his opinion known.

“But…” She did not finish her sentence as Karash cut across her.

“What you will find as medics in this squad is that all the problems seem to let themselves be known eventually, whether it be drugs to get people to rest or a missing limb.” Karash ended his sentence with a slight nod as to symbolise the end of the conversation.

Karash sat deep in thought about the days events knowing that things were not going to improve greatly. Better of relaxing in a pit of Rancors, Karash thought as he drifted off.

It felt like Hav's whole life had been turned upside down. She had gone, in a matter of weeks, from being so sure about the things she wanted to not even knowing which was was up anymore. She laid there in her bed, in the room dark, sobbing uncontrollably into the pillow. Hav never cried. She could not even remember the last time something had upset her to this degree.

She felt so happy when Joamer kissed her, it felt good. Until she saw Jaenna's face, that is. Hav sighed into her pillow, Jae. She had felt something for Jae for a long time now. It almost killed her to see Jae with RB, but Jae was happy so Hav clung to that. Then Joamer came along. Joamer was a good man, Hav definitely felt close to him, and part of her longed to be in his arms. The other part was crying into her pillow at the moment.

But what had changed everything, wasn't the fact that he kissed her. It was when he called her Ayme, and she didn't even flinch. Only Jae could do that, and now he could to? Hav did not know what was happening to her, she was so confused. Looking at either one of them right now caused her more pain that she cared to think about. Which is why she ran, why she was in this dark room, crying into her pillow.

Hav heard a noise, it did not stop the rampage of thoughts in her head, or the sobbing. She felt someone touch her back, but she did not want to look, she could not deal with which one of them it was. Both of them confused her, both of them just made it all hurt again. God, she just wanted Jae to talk to her and tell her how she felt, Joamer didn't seem to have a problem with that. And at the moment Havock liked at least knowing where she stood with him. A voice on her pillow snapped her out of her thoughts, and it wasn't Joamer's.

"Ayme, come on now. You can tell me."

Hav smirked before telling Jae, there were so many things she could have said. But hearing that name again, reminded her of the fact that Joamer had said it. The memory just made her brain confused all over again and a wave of fresh tears hit the pillow.

"Geeze... I want to say that I'm going to kill Jo for making you cry, but I can't. Because I know that I'm part of the reason, too." Everything seemed to stop. Havock had to look now, she had to make sure she was not imagining the Jae laying next to her. She turned her head and got a flash of green eyes, and the dim light that Jae must have turned on when she came in the room. There was no way Hav was going to stop her, she needed to hear what Jae was going to say, she needed to know how her friend felt before she went completely insane.

Listening to Jae, who was always articulate, stumble over her words just made Hav smile. Damn, why did this girl always seem to make her smile.

“I love you, Ayme.”

Hav stared at her for a long time, they were both smiling. And she could tell that Jae was practically bursting out of her skin to hear what Havock's next words were. They were important words. Hav could see herself with Joamer, she could see that future and it was wonderful. But Jaenna, sometimes it felt like she had known Jae forever, and that she would know the girl forever.

Hav reached out with her hand and touched Jae's face, her fingers running across the tattoo. Then she took a deep breath, and sat up quickly, leaning against the wall behind the bunk. She just sat there with her eyes closed, breathing, for what felt like an eternity. She could feel movement on the bed, and knew that Jae was trying to leave. But she was not going to let that happen.

Hav reached out and grabbed one of Jae's hands, she got a flash of hurt green eyes in return. “Where do you think your going?” Hav did not let go of her hand and scooted up to the edge of the bunk. “Sit.”

Jae hesitated but complied, she looked so timid as she sat next to Havock on the bunk. “Two things, I need to know. One, did you ever break up with Alex?”

Jae sat expressionless, she was holding everything in now, she had to work her jaw just to make the words come out once they had formed. “Thats over.”

Hav almost smirked, but she managed to keep her composure. “Good. Now for number two. Our line of work, its dangerous. You need to promise me that no matter what, you will not put anyone else's life in danger over me. We are going to be separated on missions, we are going to get ourselves into messes, hell you know how accident prone I am, and you are the squad leader. You can't compromise the mission to run off and save one person. Can you do that, Jaenna?”

Jaenna thought about that for a long time, then she looked away to stare at the wall. “I will always be protective of you, regardless of how you feel about me. But I would never jeopardize the mission, I would want to rip my heart out, but I wouldn't jeopardize the mission.”

Hav nodded, and wiped her face. Jae was still staring at the wall, her expression was one of someone prepared to be disappointed.

“Good.” Hav nodded. “Cause, I love you too. So you better have been telling the truth.”

“What do you mean?” Jae turned sharply to look at Havock. “Of course I was telling the truth, how could you even say that, Ha-” Jae frowned and Hav just smirked. “Wait. Say that again?”

Hav smiled and turned to look at Jae. Hav reached out and put a hand behind Jae's neck and pulled her so close their noses were touching. “Later.” She could see Jae smile just before she closed the distance and kissed her deeply. For those few moments, there was nothing else. Havock felt a wave of calm come over her, for that brief period of time everything was right.

Joamer sat back in his seat, he was floating in a sea of blue. Possibly the most happiest moment of his life had occurred a few minutes before. Even Jaenna being mad, or upset, or whatever it is she was could not ruin his mood.

He knew what the feeling was now, after that kiss is become so clear. He loved her, more then anything else. If needed he would die for her, the choice would be simple easy as breathing. No hesitation, no second thought, just a single moment. He could still smell her scent on him, it was intoxicating, like she had been made just for him. Sharing that moment, that one kiss had nearly sent him over the edge.

"Unidentified ship. This is port control. State your business." The comlink buzzed suddenly.

"Aurora control, clearance code Alpha 54-643-12." Joamer said a few moments later. Thing was about this ultimate pleasure ship, you had to know the right people to even be allowed on board, and he knew the right people.

"Clearance accepted, dock on port 2C. Have a nice time."

Joamer brought the ship around slowly, he looked out at the gigantic vessel. She was ugly in the extreme, basically just a huge rectangle. No weapons could be seen, but he knew better. This ship was quite capable of dealing with troublesome pests, both inside and out.

Flipping the docking controls he lined Jae's yacht up, and eased her into the port. Hearing the docking rings engage he began powering the ship down. A few minutes later he walked out of the cockpit to see most of the squad looking out the view ports.

"Welcome to the Aurora." He said simply, none of them bothered to look back at him. This was obviously their first time here.

He walked back to Havs room but stopped when he heard very distinct sounds coming from the closed door. His world rocked suddenly, the only thing that kept him from crashing into the deck was his hand gripping the wall behind him. It took him forever it seemed to block out the thoughts going through his head. He knew he had no right to feel this way, it was only a kiss. They were friends, maybe something more. Not that though, so why did he feel betrayed.

He slowly put one foot in front of the other, eventually he made it to his small quarters. He felt the door close behind him as he slowly slid to the floor. He closed his eyes and breathed slowly to fight the pain in his chest.

Why are things like this. He thought. For the first time ever I risk letting someone in, and now this. Fine, if this is how life is going to play it. Two can play this game.

Standing up he walked over to one of his cases. He began opening the one for his Frontier Model B, but stopped. Instead he picked up a heavier looking case, entering a sixteen digit access code he opened the lid. Inside nestled in protective foam sat a very dangerous looking G-1R Particle Magnum. It was classified somewhere between a heavy pistol and a small rifle. You only carried one if you had stopped caring about the world. It had one purpose, to end life.

This is how he felt now. He strapped on the holster and removed the magnum from the case. He flipped the three way switch to kill and holstered it. He picked up his floor length leather jacket from the bed and walked out.

So much for relaxation. He thought as he left the ship. He wondered if anyone would notice he was gone.

Havock slowly woke up in the bed. It had been a very long time since she had actually slept for that long. Hav was even more surprised when she found the covers and pillow still in their proper place. Smiling softly she rubbed the sleep off her face and dropped her feet off the side, sitting up. With one final yawn she opened her eyes completely and looked around.

Hav looked over at the small computer terminal in the room, to find a pair of green eyes staring back at her. She smiled and laughed a bit. “Hello.”

“Hey, I didn't wake you, did I?” Jae looked genuinely concerned, she knew as well as anyone how much trouble Havock had been having getting a good nights sleep. Havock glanced back at the pillow still in place and touched it lightly, she almost could not believe it was still there.

“Quite the opposite actually. What are you doing?” Hav gestured to the terminal.

Jae glanced back at it and shrugged. “Oh just taking care of some unfinished business. You know, with Rogueboy.” She smiled and quickly peeked at the chrono. “It's kinda late. Everyone is on the Aurora. Maybe we should take a look around. But if you want to get some more sleep-”

Hav shook her head. “No. That sounds like fun. I wonder if Joamer is still here?”

Jae shrugged again and they both quickly changed clothes.

Bacredi looked up with a sour look as the girls fell out of the room giggling. His expression sobered up both of them, Havock looked around the room. “Are you the only one here?”

He just rolled his eyes and returned to look at his datapad before answering. “Yes.”

Jae was looking around the passenger area poking her head in the rooms. “What about Joa?”

Bacredi made a pfft sound. “He did not look happy when he left. In fact he looked like a man who wanted to crawl into the bottom of a bottle of whiskey and marinate for a while.”

That caused both of them to stop in their tracks. Hav looked up at Jae and they both headed immediately for the Aurora. “Jae we have to find him.”

“I know.”

Hav skidded to a stop and turned to face Jaenna. “No you don't understand. He...” Hav started to rub her temple, she didn't know how to say it.

Jae reached out and touched Hav's shoulder. “I know more than you think, Ayme.”

“It's my fault and we need to find him.”

Jae nodded and they started on the search. His comm was of course turned off, so they searched the nightclubs nearest to the yet-unnamed yacht. A man sat near the exit of the space dock. He looked like he had consumed a few beverages of a certain nature that day, and possibly the majority of the day before. Even though he had alcohol in his system, he still had a dangerous air about him. Not to mention the quite large blaster rifle laying across his lap.

Havock shrugged and walked over to the man. “Excuse me. We are looking for a friend of ours. He's pretty tall, black pants, white kinda nice shirt, bald, muscular, hands-” She was about to continue when she caught a glare from Jae. Hav chewed on her lip and looked back at the slightly swaying man.

"Yea, I saw your friend. He looked terrible, he asked for the worst bar, but I sent him to Saracens. It's actually a pretty decent place."

“Saracens, okay great. Thank you.” Jae said quickly then grabbed Hav by the arm and dragged her in the direction of the bar.

The two of them entered the bar. The place really was not all that bad. A number of patrons were dancing on the large dance floor in the center of the room. Havock actually did not mind the music they were playing at all. Scanning the bar Hav breathed a sigh of relief. There, sitting at the bar, was Joamer.

“Hey you two.” Hav twisted to see Akilaa approaching her and Jae. “Bout time you found him.”

Jae and Hav exchanged a glance and Jaenna seemed to know what Havock needed to do. Without a word Havock slowly approached Joamer at the bar, leaving Akilaa and Jaenna talking near the entrance.

Hav approached and leaned against the bar. “This seat taken?”

Joamer did not look up, he just muttered. “No.”

Timidly Havock slipped onto the bar stool and ordered another of whatever Joamer was having. She waited for him to be ready to talk to her. She just felt better knowing he was where she could see him. Every time she managed a glance into his eyes all she saw was pain, and she knew she was the cause and it made her feel awful.

Joamer starred deep into his glass. He had been sitting here for over an hour, and he had not managed more then three drinks out of the same glass. By the time the first one was down his throat he remembered he hated losing control, and he knew something called triple distilled whiskey would do that for sure.

At this moment he wanted to lose it, he wanted to let it all go and forget. He just could not bring himself to drink more. He felt the Particle Magnum attached to his leg, the gun felt heavy and dangerous. He knew it was a rash decision when he took her out of the case, the gun was meant for one thing. Now that his head had cleared a bit, he regretted even thinking about that one thing.

As he continued to stare into his glass he felt Havock walk up next to him. Her subtle perfume did nothing to mask her real scent from him, and it played havoc with his mind like every other time she was close to him.

He heard her say in a soft voice "This seat taken?" He considered telling her yes, and to go away. Go back to her, she wants you, you want her. He could not do it, he could not take the easy way out. He knew he loved her enough he could let her go, but it was too painful to even consider it.

He knew if he asked for a transfer, it would be approved instantly. Hell, Kanderin would probably kill to have him back, but he could not do that either. He was trapped in his own personal hell, and when he thought about it, he had no place he would rather be, even with the pain added in.

He heard himself mutter "No." He wondered what his voice sounded like, to him it sounded distant. He imagined it was a mixture of five or six emotions all tossed together. Sighing he noticed her gesture to the bartender, he held back a smirk as she ordered what he was having.

He watched out of the corner of his eye as she picked up the glass and took a rather big swig. She closed her eyes and swallowed the mouthful without a single grimace. His heart skipped four beats as he found himself drawn even more to her, if that was possible.

She put the glass back on the bar and looked at him for a long moment before taking another swig. He looked at her for the first time since she came in. She was wearing gray pants, and a black spaghetti strap shirt. She had a tan colored jacket over the shirt, her hair was hanging down, she had her bangs tucked behind her ears. By force of will alone he avoided her eyes, he knew he could not ignore them for long. For now though, he won the battle.

He sighed as he saw her place the empty glass on the counter and cross her arms, a small smirk on her face. "Told you I could drink." She said quietly, no humor at all in her voice. He smirked and nodded, he noticed the dance floor was almost full so he stood up and unbuckled his gun belt. Handing it to the bartender he motioned for her to stand.

"Dance with me." He said, he gave her the choice to stay or go by the way he was standing. He saw her hesitate, begin to look in the direction of Jae. She stopped herself and stood up, quickly removing the jacket she handed it to the barkeep and took his hand.

He walked slowly to the dance floor, he tried to ignore how perfectly their hands seemed to fit in each other. He knew this was going to be painful later on, but for now he wanted to finish the dance they started back on Praexus.

Making his way to the center he turned around slowly and held out his arms. She hesitated for another moment before placing her hands in his. The music was somewhere between fast and slow, one designed to be danced at a quick pace. So they stayed separated, moving around each other as they let the rhythm take control. The song ended quickly and another started, this one a bit slower, so the distance between them decreased.

He became lost in time, he had glanced into her eyes for a brief instant and became lost. He felt her close the remaining distance and wrap her arms around him, he placed his hands on her back and continued to stare into her eyes. He could feel her body heat, and her now overpowering fragrance wafting up around him. He was not sure what was going through her head, maybe possibilities, or maybe liquor. He was not sure, his was blank, swept away by a pair of blue eyes.

He closed his eyes as she leaned her head against his chest. He knew their time would end eventually, but he wanted this moment for himself. He felt the music change again, he was sure it was not a slow song, but neither of them changed positions. They continued to move slowly together, their bodies one as the danced to music only they could hear.

Time began to have meaning again, something told him to open his eyes and look behind him. When he did he saw Jae walking up, she had not seen them yet. He tightened his hold on Ayme for an instant before he began to release her. She looked up in confusion but he nodded behind him and she nodded slowly in understanding. She looked like she wanted to say something but he shook his head slowly.

"I need some fresh air." He said, he ignored the fact they were on a ship. "You two should have this time together." The last word was hardest of them all. He stepped away from her and turned around. He walked away slowly, each step more painful then the last. He stepped up to Jae and stopped.

She looked up at him with a mixed expression, she smiled slowly her sea-foam green eyes sparkling in the lights from the overheads. Her eyes still screwed with his mind, but not like before. He knew he cared for her still, deeply cared. He knew he would always be there for them, either of them.

He reached out his left arm and placed it gently on her shoulder. He tried to say something but words failed him, he had no idea what his face looked liked. He saw her nod in understanding, he removed his hand gently and walked towards the door.

Leaving them to dance without his eyes watching.

The music playing was making it hard for Akilaa to hear Jae properly, but they managed to get a mere 3 minutes of gossip in. Every now and then she’d glance over to the pair dancing, she could see the amount of pain this was going to have on him afterwards. It wasn’t the best idea Joamer had. As Jae slipped away from the conversation, Akilaa politely slipped out the door to follow Joamer. Her sweet and innocent smile stretched across her face greeted him as she placed a soft grip onto his shoulder.

“I hope you don’t mind me coming here. I couldn’t help but see you slip out. I know it’s not one of my best ideas to follow you but I want to make sure you’re alright. I don’t like seeing you like this.” She whispered in a hushed tone into his ear.

Joamer merely shrugged her off, something she knew he didn’t mean. She edged him out onto a seat and sat with him, dragging her chair close enough to touch him. Her soft words not even being calculated into his brain. His mind was obviously else where, but she knew she had to keep him occupied.

Leaving him there for a few moment, she grabbed her jacket and placed it over her shoulders to ease the cold off her slightly. She then made her way to the bar, picking up a glass of the strong stuff for Joamer. Akilaa knew that drinking didn’t solve anything but right now if it was going to make Joamer feel any better she didn’t care. Placing the glass into Joamer’s hand she smiled.

“This is for you. Now, don’t think I allow drinking for these sorts of situations but right now it looks like you need it. I just want you to feel better Joa, you know I don’t like seeing you like this” her words escaped her mouth, the coldness in her breath lightly brushing against his cheek.

She stretched her arms out, pulling Joamer into a tight cuddle, in hope it would allow him to just open up to her. She wanted to get into his brain but at the moment he was just shutting everyone out. Not to Akilaa’s surprise he had pulled away from her, quite strong in actions. She just replied with a sigh and began to get up, bringing her drink with her and moving inside to the bar. She figured if he really wanted to talk about it he’d call her back or something, but she heard nothing.

Joamer continued to stare at the glass in his hands. His mind was in a deep fog, he could still smell her on him. Their few minutes together had given her scent enough time to saturate his clothing. Now, with the slightest breeze he was tortured as he breathed her in again and again.

He breathed deeply and let the fire consume him. His mind, heart, soul was a wreck. Every time he went back to her he destroyed whatever slight control he had gained from being away. Every voice in his head was shouting for him to leave it alone, find someone else. One solitary voice remained silent, he could feel the hope that this one had. He knew given enough time, and every spec of luck he had he would be with her.

Sighing he stood up and walked back inside the bar, he starred at the bar and completely ignored the dance floor. He doubted his sanity could take seeing them together right now. Walking over he nodded at the bartender and waited while he handed Joamer back his R-1A Particle Magnum.

Looking over at Akilaa as he strapped the weapon belt on, he thought for a long moment before walking over to her. She looked up at him, her eyes held deep secrets. He felt himself drawn to her, not in the way he felt drawn to Ayme or Jae. This was almost as if blood called him.

Shaking the feeling slowly he said "I need to go for a walk." He paused for a moment to try to find the right words, he felt out of practice with dealing with people suddenly. "I was wondering if you would like to go with me. Maybe keep me out of trouble." He offered his hand to her as he waited.

And maybe give me time to figure out just who you are. He thought to himself.

She starred at his hand for a long moment before smiling slowly. Placing her hand in his she stood up and allowed him to lead her out of the bar.

Joamer felt her slide close to him, she wrapped her arm through his and held his hand with both of hers. He was more then fine with this, the way she held his hand screamed this was only done as a friend. He knew he needed one right now, and she had picked herself out of the lot to be one.

They walked slowly, neither of them talked. They paused briefly at various stalls but nothing caught their eyes. He had forgotten just how massive this ship was. It was not just a casino, bar, and dance club vessel. The Aurora held shops of every make and design, carried just about everything anyone could want, including a few illegal items. It was the perfect thing for him right now, maybe he could find something that could take his mind off of her, if only for a little while.

Walking into the store they began looking around. Akilaa made no attempt to release him, as he browsed the store slowly. She even seemed to hold his hand tighter when she sensed him trying to distance himself again. She was holding him here, now, in this moment. She knew she could not do it forever, but for now he would stay in this moment.

Pausing at a small stand he looked over the various pieces of jewelry being displayed. He looked over at Akilaa who seemed to be almost drooling starring at something across the room. She looked up at him with a forlorn expression, he could not help but smile.

"It's alright, I'm right here now. Go look, I won't go away. I promise you." Joamer said softly. She looked at him for a moment as if she did not believe him. Eventually she nodded slowly and released his arm, then walked over to a low stall and began examining a pair of jack-boots.

Joamer looked down at the bracelet sitting in the middle of the table. He picked it up and looked over it slowly, for some reason it screamed at him to buy it. Walking over to the counter he wondered what type of currency they would use here.

"Currency?" He asked in a low voice.

The old man who appeared to own the shop looked over Joamer slowly, his eyes took in the weapon at his waist and the expensive looking shirt he wore, he did not miss the jack-boots he wore on his feet.

"One of them huh." He said half to himself. "Only one of them would wear a pair of those here. This place sometimes has one of those new republic people in it. Can't say I blame you, why in my younger days I fought the rebellion." He coughed suddenly, he dabbed at his mouth with a small cloth.

The old man looked up at Joamer's face for the first time. His eyes widened suddenly, but quickly the half bored expression came back. Joamer saw him shake his head and say very lowly "Nah, can't be. He might look like him, but he's way too young."

"Well, since we are corebound next week. How bout new republic." The old man said suddenly.

Joamer reached into one of his pockets and pulled out more then triple the price the price tag had indicated. Handing the money over, he wrapped the bracelet up and put it in an empty pocket.

"To remember better days, and to seeing Golan II space stations for the first time." Joamer said softly. The old man looked up at him suddenly, his eyes going wider then the last time. Joamer nodded slowly, evenly.

"It is me Byert Remiu." Joamer said, he stopped what he was going to say as Akilaa walked up with the boots in her hands.

"They fit beyond perfectly." She said in a very excited voice. Joamer picked up one of the boots and examined it slowly, when he put it down he nodded.

"How much?" She asked the old man, he starred at Joamer with an odd expression.

A long minute passed before he spoke "Two thousand, old imperial. Cash credits." Joamer caught the edge to Byert's voice.

Akilaa's face fell as she realized she had no way of getting that type of money. Joamer smiled a small smile as he pulled out a different roll of bills. Quickly counting them out he handed the money to the man. Reaching into his back pocket he added a datacard to the stack and said "Call me sometime, I think we need to talk."

Akilaa went as if to stop him but he only shook his head and said softly "Consider it a gift from the squad. You needed a decent pair of boots, and jack-boots are very hard to find these days." Picking up the bag he reached out his hand and locked fingers with hers.

Walking out the store he said "Besides, you've kept me sane. You've earned them and more. Now, where to."

Akilaa sighed softly and looked around, after a moment she lead them off down a new road. She seemed down for a moment so he said "Do I need to keep you in this moment now?" He had a playful edge to his voice, something she had not heard in a long time.

"It's just I miss my mom, I haven't heard anyone call me antie in a long time. It was her nickname for me when I was young, something about me being fascinated with ants." Her voice went very soft and quiet during the last part, after a long minute she added "She always said she used to call my brother that as well. We both seemed to love ants, but he disappeared shortly before I was born." He felt her hand tighten on his, he tightened his without thinking about it.

His mind went elsewhere for a moment, his mom used to call him antie as well. He shook his head slowly, she could not be his long lost sister, the odds and possibilities was beyond staggering.

Shrugging off the thought he let her lead them deeper into the ship.

Akilaa’s body language began to change as she led them both deeper into the ship. The many stalls passing them at a blur as she was walking a little faster than normal. She felt Joamer’s grip tighten and almost pull her back to slow down, but Akilaa was having no one of it. Once she was in an upset state that was it, her inner child began to show and she came across as a spoilt brat. She’d been trying so hard for the past few years to not get in this state, but there was no hope for her now.

“I want to go this way” she demanded, stamping her foot to the ground child like.

Joamer just simply smiled none of the wiser and chuckled at her. With a simple nod she pulled his arm to the left, the tension in Joamer’s forearm beginning to show. She led them down a side ally, one with many jewellery and clothing stalls. One of them caught the corner of her eye. It seemed to glisten and send a light bulb to light up in her head. She almost took it at a run and stopped dead inches away from the display table.

A devilish smirk wiped across her face as she felt like a child in a sweet shop. All the gems surrounding the many different pieces of jewellery caused her stomach to leap. As she picked up an item, Joamer took a look at the price tag. It was in range, but he’d already forked out for her new boots. A disappointed look occupied his face as he continued to stare at Akilaa.

“Antie, I don’t think that suits you” he teased, using her nick name in hope it would comfort her.

Akilaa stared blankly at him as she dropped what she was holding onto the ground. For some reason to her, that meant the world to her. Even if it did come from him, it still felt strangely homely. Although, the stall keeper was beginning to look over the piece she had dropped and began tapping his foot. She sighed, digging into her pockets to pay a repair fee. The man snatched it from her grip, inspecting it was actually real before giving them the go ahead to leave.

“I-I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me. I try not to get into that state, I’m sorry you had to see that” she explained as a single tear rolled softly down her cheek.

Joamer smiled, wiping the tear away with the back of his hand. The whole situation was beginning to become strange to Akilaa. She felt a strange connection with Joamer, but she couldn’t place her finger on it. Sure they were friends, but this seemed a little deeper than that. He was just getting over someone he loved dearly, so it couldn’t be love. It was more family related but it was impossible they were related. She hadn’t seen her family for a while now, she only had her mother and father. Her brother had left not so long after she was born. The cogs began to work over time in her brain, the thoughts running through her head beginning to take the energy out of her.

“Look, there’s no need to worry. It’s nice to get to know the real you, and not something you’re making up as you go along. How about we have a sit down and a drink. I think we both need one.” He chuckled, taking her hand tightly in his grip once more and leading her to a small table with chairs.

Karash followed the rest of his squad off of Jae’s yacht and on to the ‘pleasure ship’ that awaited them. The squad was not in the most secure state as some members did not seem to be in the right mood for a holiday, then again you could view them in need of one but that was not Karash’s concern. Some of the squad went in one direction but Karash went in another because at the moment he wanted to try and stay out of their problems as best he could.

“How might I get to a decent bar?” Karash asked trying to keep a fair distance from the man he was talking to.

“Yer go tha way, you knows when yer get there.” said the small man who spoke in a whisper.

Karash gave a slight nod before moving along down the walkways of the ship to the bar that the shifty looking man had suggested. Then his thoughts once again drifted to squad member’s problems, Karash acted as though he didn’t really want to know but he was blatherskite and loved forcing himself into other people’s problems. Before he knew it the bar had appeared and to his amazement it was not too shabby, there was some gentle music playing and a few people dancing in the middle of the room.

“What’ll it be?” asked a man from behind the bar.

“Corellian brandy, please.” Karash said curtly.

As Karash once again turned to look at the people who were prancing around on the dance floor, he realised that he had absolutely no idea where the rest of the squad were, where he was or how to get back to the ship. These thoughts were briefly displaced as Karash took a large gulp of his drink and to his shock the glass was empty, it was strong stuff but he immediately ordered another and then another before long he had quite a tab that would need to be picked up.

“Nnn... No more for me.” Said Karash followed by an outburst of giggles.  “I have to get back to somewhere.” More giggle shot from Karash

He stumbled to his feet and began to make his way out of the bar to somewhere he was quite sure. However the one thing that was for certain was that he was not the same as he normally was and it could lead to some very awkward situations.

Havock still wanted more to drink, it had been a long time since she allowed herself to really drink. Something about it always bothered her, but she could never figure out why.

The tempo of the song slowed down, Havock looked around at the couples pairing up. She almost suggested that her and Jae should go get that drink, but Jae grabbed her hand and pulled her closer. Havock laughed as she and Jae danced. It had been a long time since she had managed to have this much fun. The two of them just kept dancing and talking as they laughed at whatever crazy story they had come up with.

"So on the computer terminal in your room." Jae paused and seemed to look for the right words. Hav tried to search through her memory to remember what in the hell she had been looking at on her comptuer terminal. "You were looking at apartments, right?"

Hav nodded and laughed a bit. "Oh yeah, that's right. Heh. Why?"

Jae looked down, she seemed to be avoiding Havock's eyes. Which made Hav worry something was wrong. Not that she could imagine what could be the matter with her looking for an apartment. She had been living in the barracks for so long, it was becoming ridiculous.

When Jae still did not answer, Hav just took a deep breath and continued. "Its just that, I've lived in the barracks all this time. And I started thinking that maybe it would be nice to have a place that's not cramped in a military base, yaknow?" Hav frowned and tried to slouch down to see Jae's face.

Jae looked up and finally met Hav's gaze again. "Like my condo?"

"Right, exactly. A place like that. But there's no rush, I'm sure I'll miss the mess hall and sharing showers and stuff." Hav rolled her eyes as she smirked, finding her own sarcasm mildly amusing.

Jae looked horribly nervous all of a sudden. Her eyes kept looking off as she chewed on her lip. Havock had no clue what she was worried about, then she started to get scared that it had something to do with them dancing or something she was doing. She must have started to show the panic on her face, because Jae reached up and put her hand on her cheek bringing Hav's gaze back to her.

"What I meant was. You want to move out, and I have a condo." Havock knew that she just was not getting whatever Jae was trying to tell her. She started to search through her brain for possible explanations, before she said anything else to make herself look like an idiot. Then Jae took a deep breath and let her head fall on Havock's shoulder. Suddenly, the pieces all fell together and clicked into place. Havock laughed out loud, causing Jae to lift her head with a mildly confused expression.

Through laughs Havock managed somehow to talk. "Okay." Then she shook her head before looking back at the still somewhat confused Jaenna. "You do realize it would be quicker if you just came out and asked me right? Here come on practice, ask me the question."

Jae smirked. Only then did Hav become aware of the fact that the two of them had gotten very close to one another, and that the song had actually changed to one of a more up-beat tempo, not that she really cared at the moment.

"Umm Ayme, so you think you might want to move in with me?" Havock laughed again.

"Sure why not. Now was that so hard?" Jae shook her head in the negative, Havock gave her a quick kiss then led her off the dance floor. She grabbed them two drinks and found a table to sit at. Her feet were killing her but she was having a lot of fun. Her eyes fell on the glass of whiskey she ordered. She still could not figure out what made it so familiar to her. She could not remember ever having it, before.

Looking up she could see Joamer and Akilaa walk into the night club. Joamer seemed to avoid looking at the dance floor as he headed towards the bar, carrying some kind of package. She was distracted by them and totally missed Karash stumbling into the table. He muttered something to the two of them before falling into a chair next to Havock. Hav was about to ask how in the world he had managed to get that drunk so fast, but Joamer and Akilaa joined them at the table which prompted Hav to nod at both of them.

Joamer and Akilaa continued whatever story they were talking as they came in quietly to each other, while Karash started to mutter some kind of a drinking song. Hav just laughed at her friends and turned back to Jaenna.

Joamer sat down at the table shared by Havock, Jaenna, and Karash. He gave the thought of sitting down very little time, his mind was going a thousand miles a second as Akilaa laid out her childhood to him. Things were beginning to add up, even if they made little sense to him.

"Well, father was an inventor." Akilaa answered a question Joamer must of asked earlier. She nervously looked down at the floor, one of her hands slowly twirling her hair as she remembered old times. "He would stay inside all day, and just work on one thing or another." Her hands dropped and she got a distant look in her eyes as she said. "One day, while he was away, he contracted an illness. We tried everything we could think of but he never pulled through. Mom was never the same after that."

Without thinking Joamer had moved closer and taken one of her hands in his. After a long moment she met his gaze and smiled slowly. "Tell me about your mom." He whispered quietly, he knew the eureka moment was close now.

"Mom was nervous all the time, she was frail too. Something to do with loosing her son, and having a daughter at the same time. She was a teacher, a good one too." Akilaa trailed off then, her voice going quiet.

Joamer sat back, still holding her hand. He thought for a long moment, the pieces slowly clicking into place.

The age fits, she would be at most six months younger then me. He thought to himself. His mom had been a teacher, but she was so full of life, the word frail was never even uttered near her. Maybe I caused that, maybe my disappearance did it. Dad was almost a mad scientist, but a brilliant one. If this is true, then I will never see him again.

"Akilaa." He said very quietly. She looked up and smiled at him slowly. "What are your parents names?"

"Um, Hyuir was dad, and Yernin was mom." She said after a few moments. She looked at him wonderingly, his face had gone slack as he looked at her. She began to fidget as he starred at her, it was like he was seeing her for the first time. He took the time to really take her in, to really see her. He saw pieces of his parents in her, how she sat in the chair, how her eyes seemed distracted with thoughts and ideas.

So, this is my sister. He thought.

"I did not know mom as a frail woman, I guess I did that when I left. I never meant to hurt any of you, but I was attacked and frozen for a long time. I never got to say goodbye to dad." His voice trailed off at that, he clenched his jaw shut and breathed slowly for a long time.

Akilaa starred at him like he had two heads and six eyes on each of them. "Wait... WHAT!?"

All conversation at the table ended, even Karash seemed to sober up at Akilaa's outburst. Jaenna tilted her head to the side and smiled, after a moment she asked "Wait for what?"

Joamer leaned back and half smiled, he was actually having fun watching Akilaa glare at him. He knew this was wrong to do, but it felt right. She was his younger sister, everything fit. They went well together, and hearing himself think this it felt correct.

"Ayme, Jaenna, Karash. Let me introduce you to Akilaa Reistlin Tremaine." Joamer said quietly. The news was slow to hit since he so rarely used his last names. Havock's eyes widdened a second before Jaenna's did. "My sister."

The air went perfectly still for a moment before Karash started choking while trying to laugh. Havock and Jaenna had the exact same look, directed straight at Akilaa. Joamer sat back out of their immediate gaze. He watched Jae's right fit clench and unclench slowly, she seemed unaware of it.

"So, you think you can come in here and steal our Joamer away from us." Jaenna's voice sounded very dangerous, Joamer knew her well enough to know she was only testing her. Least he hoped she was only testing, he felt suddenly very protective of his sister.

Akilaa sat in stunned silence, she seemed unable to form a coherent sentence as her mouth opened and closed multiple times. She blinked a few times and turned her head to stare at him, her face said everything she was trying to.

He smiled as he said "It's the truth, my mom and dad were exactly as you described them. She was six months pregnant when I left, I think my disappearance, and the birth is what caused her to be frail. She was so full of life back then." He trailed off as he watched Akilaa's shocked face.

She leaned back and looked down at her hands, she knew it was true. A piece of the puzzle had slipped perfectly into place when he uttered those few simple words. She felt a small peace settle over her insane world, she remained quiet as she nervously played with her fingers.

The rest of the group had switched their attention to Joamer. Karash was still unable to form coherent sentences, though he did look seconds from passing out. Jaenna and Havock had strange looks on their faces as they tried to comprehend the suddenly new man sitting at their table.
