I found this article pretty funny. Admitedly, and this may shock some of you, I didn't get around to watching Star Wars until I was about 9 or 10, but that was mostly my own fault. I've been watching Pumpkinhead, Leprechaun and various other movies featuring horror and gratuitous bloodshed since well before I was six. Star Wars is almost a kids movie, ooh space drinking. Shite, shelter the kids and they'll end up getting kicked around once they hit the real world. I know; sheltered kids are my favorite, they're just so trusting.
Also, if you think about it, compared to alot of 'kids' movies, esspecially older ones, Star Wars is pretty tame. I mean shite, if you really think about it, Lion King was almost worst. TRP/PVT Bloodhound/3SQD/2PLT/1COM/1BAT/1RGT/VEA/VE

i first saw Star Wars (Ep. 4) in it's opening week in 1977...i was 9.

I remember vaquely asking my dad what Star Wars was in fifth grade when I was about 7.... That was around the time Episode 1 was coming out. So when I turned 8 I wasked to see the original episodes, been hooked ever Since. I was about 6 when I started watching star wars. My cousin used to bug me with it and kinda forced me to watch it. Now I guess I owe him.
Last year my daughter which was 2 1/2 at the time woke up from her nap and I was watching Episode 3 and when she woke up I turned it off and she screamed like you wouldn't believe for me to turn it back on. I felt bad cause of the violence that is has but it made me proud. So yea I got her a shirt that has Darth Vader on it that says "I am your father" which she loves. |
