Three Vast Empire Naval Intelligence agents—Agent Toz, Agent Winslow, and Agent Bagardi—were protecting Captain Williams. Captain Williams was the Regional Director of Intelligence for the Pathslow System, a system that was formerly in control of the Vast Empire. The Pathslow System was taken over by the New Republic, and the Vast Empire had lost many lives. Recently, assassination attempts were made on Williams’ life, and therefore, the Vast Empire Naval Intelligence was obligated to give Williams a protective detail.
The protective detail was retrofitted with a
Gozanti-Class Cruiser,
GC-034. The detail also had access to four more Vast Empire Naval Intelligence agents that were in
GC-034. Soon enough, though, Captain Williams would be released to lead the Task Force that was going to retake the Pathslow System. Agents Toz, Winslow, and Bagardi were all in
GC-034 with Captain Williams. They were going to land on the planet of Reach II, and would soon be taken to a safehouse on the surface (in Londes City).

“Special Agent in Charge Summorville, is your team in position?” Agent Bagardi asked in the communications suite of the
GC-034. Bagardi had been designated team leader of the three, and he was in contact with Special Agent in Charge Summorville, the leader of the small Vast Empire Naval Intelligence bureau on the surface. Bagardi was going to meet up with the surface team, and they would help Bagardi’s team escort Captain Williams to the safe house in Londes City.
“Surface to
GC-034, we read you, my team is in position on the landing sight. A squadron of TIE Fighters will be hailing you, and as soon as you enter the atmosphere, the Air Protection Agency will dispatch airspeeders. The airspeeders will bring you to the landing pad where we will be waiting.” Summorville reported, Bagardi nodded and the communications suite shut down. Bagardi then put his ear piece in his ear and began to bark out orders to his team.
“Bagardi to team, we are moving to the planet. Get the other agents ready and secure Williams, we don’t want anything going wrong on the transfer of hands.” Bagardi ordered. The agents clicked their coms back. Bagardi then walked out of the communications suite and closed the door, he put his hand on his holster and walked towards Williams’ room. Agent Toz walked into Williams’ room, where Agent Winslow was waiting.
“Package is secure, moving to boarding ramp now.” Agent Toz said through the com. Bagardi walked forward and Winslow was standing next to Captain Williams. Williams and Toz walked out, Winslow and Bagardi ensued. The four other agents on the
GC-034—Agent Stuture, Agent Sheffold, Agent Tyraq, and Agent Devon—were waiting at the loading ramp. The other agents were much more heavily armed than Bagardi’s team, who only carried handguns. They had M82-G Assault Rifles, “Tyrant” Chainguns, and a single “Deathwind” Sniper.
“Agent Bagardi, this is the captain. Strong Squadron, TIE Fighters, is hailing us. They are requesting the clearance code. They say you have it.” Ensign Farshadow, the captain of the
GC-034, reported to Agent Bagardi. Bagardi then looked at his datapad, the code appeared as ‘Alpha-lima-delta-delta-five-two’.
“Alpha-lima-delta-delta-five-two,” Bagardi replied. Ensign Farshadow clicked the com, and Bagardi turned back to the agents. “Load Williams into the escort speeder, put on your vests as well.” Bagardi moved over to a crate and picked up a bullet-proof vest, this would stop a single bullet. Even though if Williams was attacked, they probably wouldn’t fire projectiles. You can never be too careful.
“Bagardi, again, this is the captain. Air Protection Squadron two is hailing us, should I give them the same code?” Ensign Farshadow asked Bagardi. Bagardi clicked, which basically told Farshadow that he should. They were going to be on the surface soon, he took out his pistol, cocked it, and then flicked off the safety and clicked it on again. Bagardi was always lenient to pull the trigger, but he would if the situation required such means. “Sixty-seconds ‘till landing, sir.”
“Affirmative, Farshadow,” Bagardi said. “Load up! File into the second escort speeder as well!” The second speeder, which made up a fourth of the cargo hold was going to be held by half of the other four VENI agents. The other half would load into Williams’ car, each car needed its fair share of protection. Bagardi then looked at his datapad, Farshadow had sent him a timer. The timer showed twenty seconds, “twenty seconds until landing.” Bagardi ran into the first speeder’s passenger seat.
GC-034 made a buzzing noise as it landed. The sound of screams from outside of the
GC-034 became apparent as they were all waiting for Special Agent in Charge Summorville’s affirmative. Summorville would open up the cargo hold, and if it wasn’t him, they were instructed to fire the escort speeder’s guns and get out of there. Summorville then opened the ramp, the ramp sped down and Summorville stood there, five agents behind him. Two speeders with weapons on it were behind Summorville as well.
“Lets move, Bagardi.” Summorville’s trench coat nearly touched the ground as he walked back to his speeder. Both of the speeders swept out towards the road way. The other two speeders stopped Bagardi’s speeder, they were going first it seems. The second speeder was almost out of the
GC-034.
“Incoming missile! Unidentified airspeeders are closing in as well, APA Squadron two is enclosing on their location, but they don’t match the other numbers!” Ensign Farshadow’s voice boomed through all the coms. A missile suddenly impacted on the second escort speeder, the
GC-034 was then hit with a missile, it stopped the flow of levitation and hit the ground.
“All speeders move forward! Protect Williams!” Special Agent in Charge Summorville’s voice rang through all the coms. Suddenly, two airspeeders flew over the small convoy and fired repeatedly. The first speeder in the line, the one with Special Agent in Charge Summorville, was flown off of the road. It then detonated immediately. All of the speeders began to attempt to go faster, but they were blocked by close to forty armed men from the front, and twenty from the back. APA Squadron two then flew over, firing volleys, but their attempts were in vein.
“Get out of the speeder or face the consequences!” The de facto leader of the group, a large man with a pistol, screamed. A dogfight above the speeders was ensuing between both sides. “You have until ten. Nine, eight, seven, six, five…” Bagardi contemplated all of his options. “… four, three, two…”
“Hit the thrusters! As fast as you can! Follow me, all agents!” All the agents exited the speeder, as they did, the speeder flew forward, firing repeatedly. The agents jumped off of the side of the road and did a somersaults down the side. The agents fired their chainguns and pistols. The airspeeders above them were now being hailed by two squadrons of TIE Fighters, the TIE Fighters began to unleash volleys onto the armed men. Looking onto his radar, Agent Bagardi saw as the speeder kept on speeding forward. Two airspeeders, marked as APA, were above the speeder as well.
