“Drop it…” Bacredi said, he had his pistol raised in the air towards an enemy guard. The guard put his rifle on the ground and then took out his handgun, he then set that on the ground as well. Bacredi had his silenced and modified Tropov in hand, he was also wearing a multi-purpose, jet-black combat suit. “Turn around, if you say anything I will kill you.” The guard turned around and Bacredi ensued.

The guard moved into an open closet, Bacredi then put the guard’s head between his sights. The guard hit the ground without a scream, Zhar had shot the guard in the head with his Tropov. He then closed the door to the closet and Bacredi slipped back into the facility, he then picked up the handgun and threw it into the darkness. Bacredi then picked up the rifle and slung it over his shoulder, the M82-G Assault Rifle was one that he liked to use.

Zhar moved through a door close to him and looked around, a guard was coming from the opposite direction and he hadn’t noticed Bacredi. Bacredi moved his entire body around this time and raised his pistol, he pulled the trigger and put a bullet between the guard’s spine. Bacredi fired again, hitting the guard in the head, and again, this time he nailed the guard in the back of the neck. The guard was on the ground, dead. Bacredi wouldn’t have much time until another patrol came through; he had to finish the objective.

Turning around into the room, Bacredi entered and set down the first detonator. The room, which was a mere storage closet, would soon be destroyed. Bacredi then clicked the detonator for ten minutes, he then did it with two more. Bacredi’s last detonator was set in a hidden location, behind the door, and he clicked it for ten minutes as well.     Zhar then took head after heel for the location he was set to be evacuated at. He holstered his pistol and raised the M82-G rifle. Two guards turned the corner and Bacredi was able to punch one, the other guard attempted to kick Bacredi, and Bacredi merely grabbed his leg and twisted.

The guard was now on the guard and the other guard charged for Zhar. Zhar butted him with the rifle and then drew his pistol, shooting the guard twice. The other guard pulled out a radio and Bacredi shot him in the hand, he then quickly fired again. The guards were both dead. Bacredi raised his rifle towards the door that was being tapped on, a cook came through and Zhar killed the cook. The cook hit the ground and Bacredi had blew his cover.

Bacredi had eight minutes.

Running towards the hangar, Zhar met up with Special Operative Stuture, who was coming out of his location. He had a pistol as well, and Bacredi still had many shots in his rifle. Two more agents had to show up by then, or else those agents would die with the base.

Three Vast Empire Naval Intelligence agents—Agent Toz, Agent Winslow, and Agent Bagardi—were protecting Captain Williams. Captain Williams was the Regional Director of Intelligence for the Pathslow System, a system that was formerly in control of the Vast Empire. The Pathslow System was taken over by the New Republic, and the Vast Empire had lost many lives. Recently, assassination attempts were made on Williams’ life, and therefore, the Vast Empire Naval Intelligence was obligated to give Williams a protective detail.

The protective detail was retrofitted with a Gozanti-Class Cruiser, GC-034. The detail also had access to four more Vast Empire Naval Intelligence agents that were in GC-034. Soon enough, though, Captain Williams would be released to lead the Task Force that was going to retake the Pathslow System. Agents Toz, Winslow, and Bagardi were all in GC-034 with Captain Williams. They were going to land on the planet of Reach II, and would soon be taken to a safehouse on the surface (in Londes City).

-- -- -- -- --

“Special Agent in Charge Summorville, is your team in position?” Agent Bagardi asked in the communications suite of the GC-034. Bagardi had been designated team leader of the three, and he was in contact with Special Agent in Charge Summorville, the leader of the small Vast Empire Naval Intelligence bureau on the surface. Bagardi was going to meet up with the surface team, and they would help Bagardi’s team escort Captain Williams to the safe house in Londes City.

“Surface to GC-034, we read you, my team is in position on the landing sight. A squadron of TIE Fighters will be hailing you, and as soon as you enter the atmosphere, the Air Protection Agency will dispatch airspeeders. The airspeeders will bring you to the landing pad where we will be waiting.” Summorville reported, Bagardi nodded and the communications suite shut down. Bagardi then put his ear piece in his ear and began to bark out orders to his team.

“Bagardi to team, we are moving to the planet. Get the other agents ready and secure Williams, we don’t want anything going wrong on the transfer of hands.” Bagardi ordered. The agents clicked their coms back. Bagardi then walked out of the communications suite and closed the door, he put his hand on his holster and walked towards Williams’ room. Agent Toz walked into Williams’ room, where Agent Winslow was waiting.

“Package is secure, moving to boarding ramp now.” Agent Toz said through the com. Bagardi walked forward and Winslow was standing next to Captain Williams. Williams and Toz walked out, Winslow and Bagardi ensued. The four other agents on the GC-034—Agent Stuture, Agent Sheffold, Agent Tyraq, and Agent Devon—were waiting at the loading ramp. The other agents were much more heavily armed than Bagardi’s team, who only carried handguns. They had M82-G Assault Rifles, “Tyrant” Chainguns, and a single “Deathwind” Sniper.

“Agent Bagardi, this is the captain. Strong Squadron, TIE Fighters, is hailing us. They are requesting the clearance code. They say you have it.” Ensign Farshadow, the captain of the GC-034, reported to Agent Bagardi. Bagardi then looked at his datapad, the code appeared as ‘Alpha-lima-delta-delta-five-two’.

“Alpha-lima-delta-delta-five-two,” Bagardi replied. Ensign Farshadow clicked the com, and Bagardi turned back to the agents. “Load Williams into the escort speeder, put on your vests as well.” Bagardi moved over to a crate and picked up a bullet-proof vest, this would stop a single bullet. Even though if Williams was attacked, they probably wouldn’t fire projectiles. You can never be too careful.

“Bagardi, again, this is the captain. Air Protection Squadron two is hailing us, should I give them the same code?” Ensign Farshadow asked Bagardi. Bagardi clicked, which basically told Farshadow that he should. They were going to be on the surface soon, he took out his pistol, cocked it, and then flicked off the safety and clicked it on again. Bagardi was always lenient to pull the trigger, but he would if the situation required such means. “Sixty-seconds ‘till landing, sir.”

“Affirmative, Farshadow,” Bagardi said. “Load up! File into the second escort speeder as well!” The second speeder, which made up a fourth of the cargo hold was going to be held by half of the other four VENI agents. The other half would load into Williams’ car, each car needed its fair share of protection. Bagardi then looked at his datapad, Farshadow had sent him a timer. The timer showed twenty seconds, “twenty seconds until landing.” Bagardi ran into the first speeder’s passenger seat.

GC-034 made a buzzing noise as it landed. The sound of screams from outside of the GC-034 became apparent as they were all waiting for Special Agent in Charge Summorville’s affirmative. Summorville would open up the cargo hold, and if it wasn’t him, they were instructed to fire the escort speeder’s guns and get out of there. Summorville then opened the ramp, the ramp sped down and Summorville stood there, five agents behind him. Two speeders with weapons on it were behind Summorville as well.

“Lets move, Bagardi.” Summorville’s trench coat nearly touched the ground as he walked back to his speeder. Both of the speeders swept out towards the road way. The other two speeders stopped Bagardi’s speeder, they were going first it seems. The second speeder was almost out of the GC-034.

“Incoming missile! Unidentified airspeeders are closing in as well, APA Squadron two is enclosing on their location, but they don’t match the other numbers!” Ensign Farshadow’s voice boomed through all the coms. A missile suddenly impacted on the second escort speeder, the GC-034 was then hit with a missile, it stopped the flow of levitation and hit the ground.

“All speeders move forward! Protect Williams!” Special Agent in Charge Summorville’s voice rang through all the coms. Suddenly, two airspeeders flew over the small convoy and fired repeatedly. The first speeder in the line, the one with Special Agent in Charge Summorville, was flown off of the road. It then detonated immediately. All of the speeders began to attempt to go faster, but they were blocked by close to forty armed men from the front, and twenty from the back. APA Squadron two then flew over, firing volleys, but their attempts were in vein.

“Get out of the speeder or face the consequences!” The de facto leader of the group, a large man with a pistol, screamed. A dogfight above the speeders was ensuing between both sides. “You have until ten. Nine, eight, seven, six, five…” Bagardi contemplated all of his options. “… four, three, two…”

“Hit the thrusters! As fast as you can! Follow me, all agents!” All the agents exited the speeder, as they did, the speeder flew forward, firing repeatedly. The agents jumped off of the side of the road and did a somersaults down the side. The agents fired their chainguns and pistols. The airspeeders above them were now being hailed by two squadrons of TIE Fighters, the TIE Fighters began to unleash volleys onto the armed men. Looking onto his radar, Agent Bagardi saw as the speeder kept on speeding forward. Two airspeeders, marked as APA, were above the speeder as well.

Sonarman Ivan Kristof looked around the Fi System with the Invincible’s sonar-AWTS link. The Fi System had been known for pirate activity, and the Invincible’s skipper - John Devon - doesn’t like to be caught off of his guard. The Invincible had all six of her Preybird Attack Fighters out, searching the system, and pounding their sonar and radars as they did so. Scimitar Squadron - the callsign of the Preybird Attack Fighters - would be back in communications within the next ten minutes. Their communications had been cut off as they passed the seventh planet in the system, and they would be turning around from that planet soon enough.

“Director, I have something you might want to see.” Another one of the AWTS sonarmen, Jim Mancuso, son of Cole Mancuso. Cole Mancuso was the commander of Banshee Squadron, while his son was a mere sonarman on the Invincible.

“What is it, Mancuso?” The director of the AWTS - Jeff Washington - came over to the seven screens of Jim Mancuso. Each sonarman , missile operator, weapons officer, pilot, and technicians had 7 screens. Mancuso’s screens showed the six Preybird Attack Fighters on one of the larger screens. Each of the fighters had their pilots and co-pilots in two bubbles next to the fighter. Mancuso printed out a sheet of something and showed it to Director Washington. “How recent is this information?”

“Within the hour, sir.” Mancuso replied to Washington, who was standing over the 23 year old kid like he was old man Mancuso himself. Director Washington checked his watch, it was 11:30, this information was very, very recent. Washington mumbled something to Mancuso that Kristof couldn’t hear, and Kristof shrugged it off and went back doing his sonar checks.  Suddenly, Director Washington walked over to Kristof’s screens.

“Kristof, can you give me the current location on the Devonshire and Bedford?” Washington asked. Kristof nodded, turned his swivel chair towards one of his keyboards, and began typing. A search bar came up on the screen, and Kristof typed in ‘Devonshire - Location.’ Kristof then clicked on ‘search’, and another window popped up with ‘Swipe I.D. Card’. Kristof mumbled some Corellian insult under his breath and took the card off of his neck and swiped. The Devonshire’s location immediately came up.

“Thirteen minutes from our location, sir. They are in hyperspace and have complete radio silence.” Kristof said. Washington nodded, and Kristof then remembered that he had to search the Bedford as well. He pressed a command key and the search bar popped up again, ‘Bedford - Location’. The same warning with the keycard came up and Kristof swiped it again. “The Bedford is with the Devonshire, sir. They are now 12 minutes away.”

“Thank you, Kristof. I need to get these notes to the skipper, so I’ll-” Washington was cut off by Mancuso’s warning sounds, Kristof’s rang off a second later. “Someone tell me what the hell’s going on?” Washington screamed as he stood up, his suit tie looking un-done.

“Sir, two missile boats coming in, bearing port 1-3-1.” Mancuso replied to Washington’s demands. “The Preybirds are thirty seconds out.”

“Copy, get me a line to the bridge.” Kristof turned to his screen and typed in the command, the search bar popped up and he typed in ‘Connect - Bridge, Invincible - AWTS Director Washington’. The line was immediately connected to Washington’s ear-piece. “Captain, this is Washington. You get the information? Ok. Got it.” Washington then clicked his headset in. “Does anyone have a bearing and lock on the missile boats?” Washington was obviously asking the weapon officers and missile operators.

“I have two proton torps, each, ready to launch at the missile boats. Do we have permission to fire?” A young missile operator said.

“Captain gives you the green light.” Washington gave the operator a thumbs up. The six prey birds were already assaulting the targets, the missile operator fired. The sound of the Invincible steering away from the target in case of a deadly impact was heard. The missle boats were hit - one was damaged, and the other didn’t have engine power - the Preybirds now had their chance.
