OOC:
This story was created entirely by BL1028. I would like to express my thanks for her time and thought she put into this story. The following is reference material for the story:

On the continent of Vienz lies two countries, a peaceful place brought together through prosperity and equality. To the south is the country of Aatn and to the north, the land of Bvemry. The two countries coexisted in peace, trading, exchanging technology and ideas. But even if there was only peace in the minds of the people, corrupted thoughts of greed crept into the minds of the government.

Aatn has been ruled by a family of nobles, leading their people with a fair but strict hand. Representation of the people existed along side the rule of one man; more or less Aatn followed the path of a republic government.

Bvemry, however, chose to lead its people through the course of democracy.

A rift begins to grow in between these two once peaceful nations as each one starts to silently criticize the other for the way they lead. Aatn scoffs at Bvemry's choice to give their people total representation; people don't know what they want, nor do they know what's best for them. Bvemry silently fumes as Aatn practices a control over their people, making choices Bvemry believes should be made by the people.

This silent reprimanding of each other brought on a tension, and all hell broke loose when a civilian of Aatn unleashed an act of terrorism upon a noble family by killing the ruler's nephew. The civilian of Aatn then fled to Bvemry to escape the death penalty.

The Nobles, angered by this man's act of terrorism prepared a four squadrons of soldiers to chase after him into Bvemry territory. Thinking this is an act of war upon them, the government of Bvemry finds Aatn's act of taking up arms a threat to their people and does not allow them to enter their territory.

Already angered by the act of treason upon their country, the Aatn rulers eagerly prepare their military for offensive action against their northern enemy.

War has been unleased upon the once peaceful continent of Vienz.

-------

Here enters the Vast Empire Navy. The Navy higher ups find this situation to be an interesting one and one that we could use to our advantage. Aatn is under a government that The Vast Empire can manipulate to its advantage. Not only that, the supplies that could benefit the Navy are in Bvemry. Siding immediately with Aatn, we waited for a while before they call us to their side, requesting extra forces so they can strike the final move on Bvemry and take the Capital. The  Navy sends in the forces they think necessary to take out Bvemry as quickly and painlessly as possible. The countries have reduced each other to ashes and Aatn is at the brink of victory.

Celan Mothrak, FL

The force of the recoil lurched Celan Mothrak forward; she was fortunate enough to test the full restraining capacity of her seatbelt. That would leave a mark. Red lights flashed on and off as the ship shuddered again. Squeezing her eyes shut to fight the nauseating rocking of the ship, the alarms and frantic voices reached her ears. She was sitting with her squadron, waiting to deploy from this transport ship. The plan was to safely enter the atmosphere and land within Aatn’s boarders unharmed. But that didn’t seem to be the plan now.

A sharp dose of g-force sent her flailing to the right, colliding with one of her flight members harshly. This was too much. Is Bvemry attacking their ship? Their entry was supposed to go unnoticed.

“Pilots, prepare to eject! The ship can’t take much more!” Celan recognized the sound of her squadron commander’s voice, even over the loud sirens. Her instincts began to kick in. Forcing her eyes open she looked around to check everyone’s condition. Her friends looked a little beaten but everyone seemed to be alright. She began to fumble with her seatbelt to free herself; it probably wasn’t the best idea while the ship was still immensely unstable but there wasn’t much of a choice in the matter. As she fought for her freedom she began to long for the calm and stable situation they were in just hours before.

* * *

“This will be a wing mission. We are sending three squadrons out to aid the commanding general of Aatn. They need our air support to make the finishing blow on the enemy.” Celan fanned herself with her hand, trying to ward away the heat of the room. It was making it hard to concentrate on the man’s small voice. “It is imperative that you follow any orders given by the leaders of the country. This alliance is important to the Empire and we don’t need our pilots undermining any authority. Got that?” A drowned murmur of understanding echoed in the briefing room. “Alright then. Don’t disappoint me. Dismissed!”

Three squadrons full, the room was tightly packed. Though only the squadron commanders knew about this mission, but it was new even to Celan. It had apparently been kept on the down-low. As much as she hated being out of the loop, she didn’t mind as much this time considering there were so many in the same boat as she. The briefing was over now and it seems they had a couple hours to themselves before they departed. The small doors at the front were congested with pilots trying to escape the humidity of the briefing room; the cooling systems obviously decided not to visit that room today.

Celan waited towards the back to let the people file through the doors before she would attempt to escape the room, as much as she wanted out of the heat. Nuann Saria joined her in the back during the waiting process, a fellow squadron member and a pilot in her flight. There must be something going on out in the hall as the progression was not moving very fast.

“So we’re hired help now apparently.” Nuann’s disdain for their current mission was evident, as much as Celan hated to admit it, they were right. It did seem a little off for the Navy to give away so many pilots for this cause. There must be something of importance on Vienz that they really want.

“Ah well. I wouldn’t worry too much about it Nuann. In the mean time, care to grab a bite with me? This heat is draining what energy I have left and it seems like we’ve got some time to waste.”

“I’ll say; I’m in. Les go, shall we?” Nuann waved towards the crowd that was starting to drain out into the halls and quickly headed towards the exit to escape the warmth of the well-heated torture room.

Now that you've got an idea, find yourself a character and begin to give them a personality. Hang out for a little bit and get used to the NPC idea. We shall move the story ahead at the proper time. And have fun with it, no?

Avenger Squadron Flight Member: Zachariah Bardge

The Crewman from Raptor squadron sat in the briefing room. He always hated briefings because they were so boring and proper. Zechariah couldn't figure out why he needed to be there either, his Squadron Commander would go back over it all again anyways.

Thankfully, it was a shorter briefing. Zech's back had already begun hurting in the thirty minutes they had been in there. Not a good sign for a fighter pilot. He slowly sat up and turned for the door. As he strode toward it, someone spoke his name from behind him. The Crewman turned around to find his Executive Officer approaching.

"Sir," Zechariah said with a sharp salute.

The XO gave a quick salute before saying, "At ease." They both let their hand drop to their side. Petty Officer Belstar continued to give further information about the upcoming mission before sending Zech on his way to begin packing.

*****

The packing process was the quickest, easiest, and most hassle free process of any mission. It sometimes became very redundant since he pretty much always packed the same clothes and toiletries.

*****
The hyperjump was as smooth as silk. Upon entering the system where Planet Vienz was located, Avenger Squadron left the Frigate and began their escort operation. All went well until just a few thousand kilometers from the planets atmosphere. Suddenly, streaks off red shot out from the surface and began striking the transport that was being escorted by Avenger Squadron.

Zechariah watched in horror as the transport which held Avenger squadron was fired upon and thrown around like a rag doll. Time after time blaster bolts slammed into the side of the ship. The energy shield was weakening rapidly with every moment.

Raptor Squadron: Besult Charseng

All throughout the briefing, Besult fell asleep, usually awakened soon after by another FM from Raptor Squadron. He tried to stay awake, but he just couldn't. Fortunately, the briefing wasn't that long, so they finished up and everyone headed off to pack for the mission.

***********

Besult packed quickly and was finished before everyone else, so he sat down and planned on getting some sleep, but was awakened by the rest of the squadron coming in. Sighing, he stood up and followed them to the ship.

***********

The ship should be coming out of hyperspace any moment now. We might need to head to the hanger so we can be ready.

Besult voiced his opinions, which were shared by most of the squadron. Just before they got to the hanger, the ship shook a bit. Besult hurried in and jumped in a fighter, guessing the ship had exited hyperspace. His guess was right because the Squadron Commander, Achlidus Trisle, gave the order to get in the transport.

Here we go. Ugh... my stomach is flipping.

Holding his stomach, Besult shook off the feeling and hopped in. It seemed that they were the first to arrive, so they got the best seats.

Heh... first come, first serve.

They took off and left the hanger in the transport soon after. Besult felt a lurch after a little while. He assumed that it was the ship turning, but it seemed a bit strong to be that. According to the readouts, they were almost in the atmosphere.

Almost there. Just a little bit to go.

All of the sudden, he was thrown out of his seat. He watched as warning lights and sirens came to life. He looked around wildly out a viewport and noticed red bolts coming from the surface of the planet. Wide-eyed he watched the bolts shoot up and hit the ship. He was thrown backwards, but he was ready for it and only went a few feet. Jumping up, he watched in disbelief as the ship groaned and a viewport shattered, though it was quickly sealed. When he heard the word eject, he jumped in his seat and strapped himself in, just as they ship burst.

**********

Besult felt nothing, but he heard a rush of air. Opening his eyes, he saw the sky. Then, he saw a piece of shrapnel flying towards him. Closing his eyes, he awaited death, but was instead rewarded with unconciousness when grazed his head and slammed his head into the back of the seat.

Raptor Flight Member Gheng Holstez

Gheng sat at his seat as the meeting was going on between the squadrons, listening intently as he feels the sharp metal that was his right hand with the flesh of his left hand. He still could remember that moment when he lost that hand in that crash landing back at Sollust. He had just finished off a couple of enemy A-Wings, but his own fighter was heavily damaged from a concussion missile blast. He tried to eject. but the seat was jammed as he tried to steer the ship into the planet's surface.

He should have died that day, but all he lost was some of his being.

As the meeting came to a close, he stood up and walked away from everyone, heading back to his quarters to get his things packed for the trip, which was done in a slow and methodical manner. Everything had its place, and nothing was out of its place as he was trained in the past. There was always an eerie silence with him, and that's how he liked it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gheng had sat on his bed as he began to meditate for a quick few minutes before the mission began. It was the only peace that he knew of that could give him some form of clarity about the world that he lived in. He then heard the rumbling of footsteps that were heading towards the hanger. It was time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raptor Squadron was among the transports that were heading towards Vienz as they pulled themselves into hyperspace. Gheng was looking down towards the floor, continuing to look at the metal hand that was his, studying its many features as he was supposed to resemble the limb that was lost.

"Are you okay?"

The voice belonged to Powsean Hursultz, Gheng's Flight Leader and his friend for a good couple of years. Gheng gave off a slight smile as his eyes looked up to the man that was across from him. Powsean was always there for him when he was down and out of luck.

"I'm fine, sir. I'm...just thinking about things."

"Are you sure? You know you can talk to me about anything."

"Yes, sir. I know. I'll be fine."

The pulling sensation of hyperspace ended as the fleet arrived in Vienz. The pilots knew that it was time to perform this mission and head back home. The Raptors' transport took off behind a couple of transports that contained Avenger Squadron's pilots. Just as they had entered through the atmosphere, it seemed that all was okay with the descent. A couple of seconds passed before res streaks of cannon fire began to light up the skies. A couple of those streaks struck the Raptors' transport, forcing them to slow its speed and fall back slightly. However, Gheng watched in horror as one of the Avenger's transports was going down with each shot.

OOC:
i'll be playing the part of Lokeb Suntelz.

Lokeb Suntelz sat at the briefing and listened to what the man speaking in the front of the room. The air was hot and tiny droplets of sweat gathered on his brow. The speaker droned on and on about  the importance of the mission and the general objectives. The same old clechet's that echoed through the briefing room every time a big wig stepped in to the podium. Lokeb's mind drifted in and out for the length of the briefing most of which he had probably heard before and the rest he would catch from his Flight or Squadron leader in rout. He understood that it was an important escort mission so it would probably be his mission to intercept any in bound enemy craft and chase them off or destroy them.

The speaker continued on for several more minutes but finally he spoke the magic words before his speech got to redundant. “It is imperative that you follow any orders given by the leaders of the country. This alliance is important to the Empire and we don’t need our pilots undermining any authority. Got that?” A drowned murmur of understanding echoed in the briefing room. “Alright then. Don’t disappoint me. Dismissed!”

As Lokeb exited the briefing room he heard talk of the wing being hired hands slightly better than mercenaries, and general chatter about food and the like. Lokeb  figured that it would be a good idea to eat before the flight and made for the galley there he piled food on. After eating he went to prepare for the operation. First to his barracks room to pack the usual toilet trees and a few spare issues of combat fatigues and an extra blaster. Than off to hi fighter for the preflight check list.

First the walk around Lokeb took his time inspecting every external component from the ailerons to the support pylons and solar cells. He checked the engine and thruster mechanisms making sure they were in good condition and had the right fluid levels. As he finished  the walk around he wiped the grease off his hands and opened the top hatch of his fighter. In side his fighter he began the next phase of the preflight check list. Switching on the internal lights he checked his electronics and control mechanisms as well as the H.U.D and gages. Finally Lokeb cleared the hanger and began the operational check list starting up the engines and checking the shield.

As soon as every thing was checked out and in ready stand by mode Lokeb went for a shower and a nap. Lokeb was awaken by one of his crew mates pounding on his door it was time to go.

The mission started as planned fly out and meat the trans port, enter formation with said transport and finally escort it down planet side but it didn't stay according to plan for long as blaster fire from the surface pelted the fighters and the transport. Flash after flash of blaster fire hit his shields and soon the shields were down. Pulling in to a roll Lokeb flew under the transport. The trans port took another hit and chunks of armor plating flew off grazing Lokeb cockpit lodging a chunk of metal through the access hatch giving his fighter a nice mohawk. The fighter careened out of control toward the planets surface, as the fighter entered the atmosphere the chunk of metal lodged in his hatch flew off striking another fighter behind him. The fighters ailerons began to glow read as the scar in the hatch began to melt dripping white hot metal in between his legs. “Hot hot hot!!!” echoed through the static.

It was about than that Lokeb decided it was time to eject, pulling the ejection cord Lokeb was dismayed  when he didn't eject. Unstrapping himself from his seat he tried to kick the glass of his port out of when that didn't work he took his DL44 blaster and shot it out. The rush of wind and explosive decompression ripped open the fighter like cracking an egg. The ejection seat pushed Lokeb out through the left overs of the fighter tearing chunks from his flight suit and helmet. While his seat had a parachute in it that didn't mean that it would actually work in fact it didn't. Scrapping the chair all together Lokeb went to his reserve but he would have to wait until he was closer to the ground. Nearly a minute later he opened his shoot and went from terminal velocity to some thing more manageable in less than a second knocking him out cold.  He would wake up till some time later when he heard his flight mate saying “Hey Lokeb wake up are you okay?”

Raptor Squadron, Achlidus Trisle

"Get away from the transport!" The Raptor commander ordered. He had just lost a fighter for flying debris and he didn't feel like losing another. He watched in horror as Lokeb struggled to exit his craft. Red shots left the cockpit's front viewport. It was a small break but it was large enough for the flight member to be sucked out through.

"Powsean, keep your flight mate in you view. We will make contact once on the surface."

"Yes sir," replied the Flight Leader sternly. Powsean maneuvered the remaining members behind their fallen mate to the ground.

"Alright, everyone follow me to the ground. We will be looking for flight three when we land."

OOC:
Avenger Squadron, Nustluz Sansler

The transport was being torn apart worse with every precise blast taken. There was no hope for the passengers if they didn't evacuate as soon as possible.

"Prepare to eject upon entrance to the atmosphere. This transport won't last to the surface!" Sansler yelled above all the alarms going off in the ship.

The ship entered the atmosphere within a few minutes and one by one, everyone aboard jumped. They tried staying somewhat near eachother, yet with enough room for error. That was easier said than done. The wind was monstrous. As soon as the Avenger commander got straightened out, the wind would pick up and hurdle the small being like a feather.

Even after the difficulty that Avenger squadron had on the way down, each member landed within a 500 meter radius, making it easy to regroup and begin their next task.

OOC:
Renegade Squadron, Mika Cyneia

Mika had just touched ground. Well, it was more of a hard impact than a soft landing. Never the less, she was now on the ground, on the ground and alone to be exact. The flight member kept in a crouched position to remain concealed from anyone's line of sight. The last thing she wanted was for a gun fight to brew up the second she stepped foot on the ground. Reaching into her pouch on the left side of her, Mika pulled out her commlink and flipped it on.

"This is Renegade 2 does anyone copy?" She blurted out. There was no response so she repeated her last statement. Again, no one responded.

"This is Rene-," is all she got out before a musky sounding man cut her off mid-sentence.

"Renegade 2 this is Renegade 5, over."

"Where are you sir?" She asked.

"We landed about 3 clicks north of you. Are you ok?"

"Yes. I am heading towards you now."

"Roger that, we will head south and meet up with you soon. Renegade 5 out."

OOC:
OK now for instructions and such.

Keep doing the OOC box at the top so we can keep this straight.

Now for the intructions:

== Raptor ==

> Land in a field near the downed pilots and recon with them

> Proceed toward friendly territory

== Avenger ==

> Recon with entire squadron

> Proceed toward enemy territory

== Renegade ==

> Recon with entire squadron

> Proceed toward enemy territory

Raptor Flight Member Gheng Holstez

Gheng watched on as the transport's landing was rough amidst the damage that it had suffered throughout the descent, but he was more worried with the flaming fighter that was next to him. One of his wingmates was in trouble, and there was no way that he could help him out of this jam while dodging the red blasts that were heading his way. While concentrating on saving his own neck, Powsean's voice came through the coms with a stern voice behind him.

"Everyone, bring your fighter behind Lokeb's for some support."

"Yes, sir."

Gheng moved his fighter towards the busted fighter along with the rest of the squadron, keeping an eye on the events that were happening in front of him while still dodging enemy fire. That was hard to do, considering that the red blasts were nearly coming at all directions. Suddenly, Gheng noticed that Lokeb had freed himself from the fighter's cockpit, watching him fall to the ground with his ejection seat upon him. Gheng immediately went to the coms.

"Powsean, pilot has ejected from the fighter."

"Alright, everyone follow me to the ground. We will be looking for flight three when we land."

Gheng broke from the formation and headed down to the ground, still trying to dodge enemy fire. Just once, he would like to guide his fighter over towards those laser banks and unload on them with some cannon fire of his own, giving them a taste of their own medicine. However, priorities were first and foremost. Within a few moments, the safe ground was finally in sight as Gheng slowed his engines make the smooth landing next to Lokeb's ejection seat with him still in it. Grabbing his back-up blaster, Gheng undid the latch and climbed out of the cockpit as he wanted to check on the status of his friend. He hoped that he was alright.

With several explosions rocking the horizon, Gheng rushed towards Lokeb and knelt by his side, trying to unstrap him from his seat. “Hey, Lokeb! Wake up! Are you okay?”

Lokeb started to stir a bit as he regain some form of consciousness, giving Gheng some form of relief. "Yeah.....I'm good, I guess."

"Well, come on. We have to get to looking for safer ground."

Gheng helped Lokeb to his feet as he looked for the rest of Raptor Squadron, hoping to find some semblance of some local allies.

A small animal chattering. A bird twittering. Leaves rustling. That is what Besult heard as he regained conciousness. He looked around and realized that he was upside down in a tree, still strapped into the seat.

Where am I? What am I doing in a tree?

Immediatly, the events of the past few hours came flooding back into his memory. He reached to the clasp and opened it. Immediatly, he began to fall, but since he was still holding on to the clasp, he ended up right side up and hanging from the belt. Shifting his weight, he managed to start swinging towards one of the tree trunks. When swung as far as he could, he let go and flew through the air towards the trunk. Too late, he noticed he was going to fast and he hit the tree with a thud.

Crap. I think I might of broken a rib or two on my right side. Or at least bruised them up badly.

As he gingerly climbed down the tree, he tried to keep from scraping his right side on the branchs. Finally, he was about a couple feet from the bottom when he slipped and landed in a heap on the ground, a rock jamming up into his side. The ribs fired up and he screamed bloody murder. Since he was in so much pain, he could barely move, much less walk. Thankfully, he started to fade into unconciousness again. Before he was gone fully, he had one last thought.

How many freaking times am I going to be unconcious. Jeez.

Then he was gone into the merciful darkness.

"Yeah.....I'm good, I guess." was his reply to Gheng

Gheng hurriedly ordered "Well, come on. We have to get to looking for safer ground."

Gheng helped Lokeb to his feet as he looked for the rest of Raptor squadron hoping to find some semblance of some local allies.  While Gheng was looking in the general area for allies Lokeb scrambled through his ejection seat looking for what ever was left of his survival pack. Holstering his blaster pistol and combat knife he set to storing his watter tabs and other left over equipment making a makeshift walking stick out of a piece of his destroyed fighter.

Once equipped as best he could be he joined his flight mate in scouring the area for allies. As they were looking and watching out for the enemy forces Lokeb quietly asked “How many others were shot down?”

Coming back into the real world, Besult sat up and rubbed his head. The movement sent a wave of nausea up his spine and he nearly puked. He forced it back down with a shudder and slowly stood up, making sure he didn’t cause any more pain to erupt from his damaged side. When he was up on his feet, he looked around for signs of his squadron. Though he didn’t see any, he spotted what seemed to be running water to the north.

I need to find at least some sign of civilization. They are almost always near a river, so I should find someone there if I follow it.

When he reached the river, he was disappointed to find that it was barely even a river, more like a large stream and a dirty one at that. Shaking his head, he turned away and trudged back into the jungle.

This is just getting worse and worse. I need to head to friendly territory, which is to the south. According to where the sun is in the sky, it’s in the exact opposite direction than I’m heading.

“Dang. I have to cross the stream.” Besult said, while shaking his head.

He turned around again and headed back toward the stream, thinking of a way to cross it. Gazing out across it, he saw a log halfway submerged in the middle of the stream. Backing away, he took a running start and jumped toward the log, fully expecting it to cave in. Amazingly, it didn’t and he continued on across it and jumped onto the other side of the stream. As he looked back, he couldn’t help himself and a grin spread across his face.

I can’t believe that worked. That’s something worth telling, a small log held your weight even though it was almost underwater. Jeez. The water is pretty deep too so it wasn’t just sitting on the bottom of the stream.

As he continued along his way, he kept making sure he was still on track.

I will be writing the part of the character Nuann Saria

Moving with other members of his squadron to link up with Renegade 2, Nuann could not help feeling a little nervous and kept looking around as he made his way south to link up with Mika. No matter how many times he tried to convince himself otherwise, and no matter how many different angles he looked at it from, he still didn't like the particular coloration of the land about 10 clicks north of their position. The colors present did not quite fit with the land around them, and there were many spots which he would have sworn were actually a low-tech version of the camouflage which he and his comrades were wearing. As he trudged onward he loosened his blaster in its holster, and kept a very careful watch on the area around his flight, unable to shake the feeling that he was being watched, but at the same time unsure of a way in which he could be sure that they were not the only ones present. As they stopped for a few minutes to get their bearing and to check and make sure that they were still on the right track to link up with Mika, Nuann became more and more uncomfortable with the situation, and began to experience the feel the the hunted rather than the hunter. Unsure initially of how much danger he and the rest of the pilots present were in Nuann just continued to scan the surrounding area. A few seconds later however instincts honed from years of living and hunting on a jungle planet prior to joining the Navy kicked in and Nuann realized as the constant buzz of insects fell silent that they were not alone. Although the others did not recognize it for various reasons, Nuann was a hunter and he knew instinctively that something had been following them, and that it had now closed on them, the next few seconds would mean the difference between life and death for the pilots present.

What can I do... We're surrounded, I don't know if those are friends or foes out there... No wait, that's old model woodland camouflage up against that tree there... and that's a... SITHSPAWN

Turning his back to the others of his squadron and facing outward, Nuann draws his side-arm and says to the ranking pilot. "We are not alone, we are being watched, I count at least 10 soldiers at present, and they're wearing old model woodland camouflage... they are armed sir, and I don't think their here to give us directions."

As everyone else quickly draws their weapons and moves to cover, Nuann wonders as he does the same;

Why do these things always happen to me, I try not to piss anyone off, and yet I'm always the bearer of bad news...

He carefully takes aim at the soldier by the tree, and waits for either the order to open fire, or something else to happen.

Raptor FM: Besult Charseng

Besult had been walking for a while when he heard blaster shots nearby. He crouched and scrambled for cover, afraid of getting hit. When he realized he was safe, he went searching for the people who had shot. As he came close, he noticed a abrupt change.

Hmmm… I can’t put my finger on it, but something is different here than it was a couple meters back.

As he looked around, another round of blaster fire shook him out of his thoughts. He ran forward, staying low to the ground and nearly stumbled into a clearing. Stopping before he went further, he looked out into the clearing and noticed people who were taking shots into the forest. Following the shots, he saw that there were more people out in the woods that seemed to be dodging the shots.

Why won’t they return fire? It’s as if they are toying with those people in the middle of the clearing. Wait… those people look familiar. Yes! They are part of Renegade Squadron. I need to help them in some way.

He heard a few of the Renegades screaming in frustration. Creeping into the woods, he neared one of the people. It seemed that he hadn’t noticed Besult yet, so that gave him a good chance. Lifting his blaster, he shot once and took the person down. Leaning over the body, Besult checked it and found a couple grenades and a knife, but no ID. Pocketing the grenades and the knife, he moved on to his next target. This one had apparently noticed the killing of his comrade, but not Besult.

I must have been hidden behind the tree.

When he heard shouts, he looked up and saw that the Renegades had killed nearly all of the people, except for the one in front of Besult. As the Renegades opened fire, Besult leaped forward and plunged the knife into the person’s chest. He gave a gurgled sigh and fell limp. Besult picked the knife up, wiped it off, and moved slowly out in the clearing. He held his hand behind his head and stopped in front of the Renegades. When they saw that he was a Raptor, they lowered their weapons and welcomed him.

Now I need to regroup with my squadron. I wonder when that’ll happen?

Renegade FM Nuaan Saria

Nuaan gasps for breath as he realizes that he had neglected to breath during the firefight. He moves over to examine the bodies of the dead soldiers who had attempted to ambush them. As he leans closer to examine one of the soldiers the felled warrior suddenly lashed out, plunging his knife into Nuaan's thigh. Yelling in pain the wounded pilot pulls the blade out of his leg and plunges it into the chest of the warrior, yelling to the others as he does so: "Look out, they may not all be dead yet, be careful when examining them." and as he notices the blood on his leg he says "I think I'm gonna need some medical attention."

OOC:
Renegade FM Mika Cyneia

Having run quickly to the location of the fight after hearing the sounds of blasterfire, Mika arrives just in time to see the fallen warrior plunge his knife into Nuaan's thigh.

Good thing I remembered to bring my first aid kit when I landed, I'll have to see to that wound...

Running over to Nuaan she quickly cleans and binds the wound as best as she can, using a strip of bacta to do some long term healing while they continue on their mission. Unable to do more for Nuaan, Mika turns and tends to the minor wounds sustained by the rest of the party during the firefight.

OOC:
Renegade FM Nuaan Saria

After Mika binds his wound Nuaan takes some time to make sure that his blaster is clean and ready, because he knows that if this particular encounter is any indication, he will have more need of it before the mission is complete. During the course of cleaning his weapon a few parts slip out of his hands at various times. He chalks it up to nothing other than fatigue, and continues to work on his weapon.

OOC:
No character in particular, these following events are not directly observed by none of the squadron members on the ground.

There is a sound no different than some wind passing, and the knife embedded in the chest of the fallen warrior disappears. Now there are none left who notice the way the fabric and flesh around the wound blacken and the blood within the wound does not cease to flow...

Renegade FM Nuaan Saria

Looking around as he trudges onward with the rest of the group he has come into contact with Nuaan notices some people standing up ahead and when he looks he recognizes them as allies by the markings on their armor, and he hears them speaking to one of the higher ranked pilots in hushed tones about some "mission" they have been on for several months, although unsure of what they are talking about he listens as best he can as he takes a moment to check the condition of his wound now that they have stopped.

OOC:
Raptor FM Besult Charseng

Walking over to where Nuann is sitting changing the bandage on his leg, he asks his old wingmate how he's doing. The strained response of "I'll *ungh* be ok *ug* as soon as this *erg* stang Bacta takes effect." although unsure of the truthfulness of the pilot's response Besult respects him and looks over at their allies.

"You know, if it weren't for the different colored tabs on their shoulders I'd say they were enemy special forces and kill them on site. They look the same, talk the same, dress the same" He coughs as the wind changes blowing toward them rather than away from them. "they even smell the same."

One of the soldiers of the special forces group turns and says "We apologize about the stench Overflyer, but we have been out here being hunted by enemies for months, we have been inside their land, and if we did not allow ourselves to smell like them we would have died long ago."

Embarrassed Besult shuts his mouth and apologizes then turns and walks over to where the other pilots were talking. He steps on something harder than just the earth beneath his feet, and hears a slight "beep" and a click.

OOC:
Renegade FM Nuaan Saria

Knowing instantly what that sound was, and seeing Besult frozen in shock, Nuaan lunges from where he was and knocks Besult out of the way, yelling "MINE!" as he falls on the device. He sees the shock on the faces of the rest of the men present, some dive for cover, others frozen in fear, he hears a muffled "click... whu"

And everything fades to black...

OOC:
Raptor FM Besult, Charseng

Running over to the broken body of his friend, Besult turns him over hoping to find some sign of life. Instead he finds a dead pilot, and a area of black crumbling flesh around the still open would in his leg from the knife.  "He knew he wasn't going to make it out of the blast radius with that..." Besult's eyes fill with tears as what just happened hits him, and the fact that Nuaan has given his life to make sure that he was the only one to die. Besult falls to his knees in shock as Mika places her hand on his shoulder and tells him "he's at peace now, he died the way he lived, watching our backs..."

Besult let Mika’s hand lie on his shoulder for a moment before shaking if off and walking away. Walking into the underbrush, he found a clearing a few meters away from where everybody else was. Sitting down on the edge, he thought about the past few minutes.

How could a mine be there? Someone had to of placed it there. Those other guys were already there. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say one of them did it. They were here before us and I know that they are like the enemy in every way, so maybe they aren’t just pretending… that would explain a lot. If I find out who it was that placed that mine and killed Nuuan, they’re dead.

Just then, Besult heard voices coming from a path. Ducking back into the brush, he noticed it was the group whose allegiance he had been unsure of. He watched as one of them separated from the group and walked off to the side near where Besult was hidden. The man opened up his pack, took out a mine and activated it, and laid it down where the path entered the clearing. The man then joined the group again. Noting every distinctive feature on the man’s armor, Besult turned to slip back into the forest, but as he did, his foot caught on a root and he tripped and fell. The group immediately turned and ran to where they heard Besult fall, but he had already gone. As they dismissed the noise as an animal, the traitor had second thoughts about that. Right before the noise had been made, he had looked back and glimpsed a person crouching beside a tree. The group had just reached a bend and were about to turn it when the traitor glanced back and spotted a tall figure standing in the exact spot as the first person. As he gazed in astonishment, the figure looked up and locked its gaze onto him. It cocked its head for a moment and the traitor considered alerting the rest of the group because it might lead them to the first figure, but the tall slowly shook its head as if it had read his mind. The figure held its stare for a bit longer before backing away into the shadows of the forest.

Renegade FM Joia Kraloinne

Seeing the world come back into focus around him Joia wonders

Where am I? I remember going in to land and then a bright light, followed by nothing...

Moving slowly into a sitting position the pilot takes stock of the situation around him. Checking first to make sure that he has both his blaster and his comlink he looks around locating his fighter about 20 meters away. Examining the damage to his fighter he says to himself, "The better not take this one out of my pay, otherwise I will probably be flying these things forever." (This was his third fighter that had been damaged beyond repair, and although he had walked away from each one, he was not happy about being 100,000 ICs in debt already, and looking at adding another 50,000 ICs to that.)

Oh well, I better get everything together and move out to find Nuann, who knows what trouble that nerfherder has gotten himself into.

Quickly locating his ejection seat hanging upside down from a tree, rather than in his fighter, Joia begins to collect his survival equipment, thinking to himself,

Don't ask about that Joia, just don't ask how it got there

After collecting all of the equipment that he needs, Joia moves off into the brush, hoping to find a safe place from which to make contact with Joia and the rest of his squadron on his comlink. Moving as quietly as possible through the brush, Joia stops after about 20 minutes when he finds a relatively hidden place from which he can attempt to contact his squadron. "This is Renegade 12, attempting to contact any Imperial Naval personnel. My fighter went down, and I do not know my location at present, please respond." Hearing no answer, Joia repeats his message. This time a faint voice responds saying something about moving South. Unsure whether the message was an instruction for him to move South, or a statement that the speaker was moving South to meet up with him, Joia had a moment of indecision.

To go or not to go, hmm,

Making a decision Joia grabs his pack and starts heading South, after all, he would rather be found trying to make his own way toward the group, than sitting on his duff waiting for them to find him.

Seeing that his flight leader wasn't in a talkative mood Lokeb shut up and got moving at a bit quicker pace.  His head was still ringing from the wallop he took when he quasi ejected from his Tie fighter. Spotting some sort of large lizard Lokeb pulled his knife and waited for it to crawl out from under its brush. As soon as it stuck its head out Lokeb struck one swift stab killed the lizard, placing it in a bag he continued on the path to the allies and kept a look out for other sources of food.

As the time went on Lokeb had caught about two more large lizards and some herbs and spices from the local fauna. Man could Lokeb cook he just needed the ingredients and that was one good thing about being in the wilderness it was a horn aplenty wild mushrooms, herbs, spices, the occasional wild vegetable and fruit. With in a few hours Lokeb had enough stuff to make a small feast especially compared to the standard fare from the ration pack. After walking about ten miles he started to feel his stomach ache and from the look of his leader they were both quite hungry. Finding an over hanging rock to disperse the smoke he built a small fire with dry wood and began cooking. In a few minutes both officers had a skewered and roasted lizard with a tasty mushroom seasoning inside.

The meal was quick but man it was filling as soon they were done eating once again they were on the road.

Avenger Squadron: Huvenan Tuyen

The regrouping of Avenger was easy. One member however was missing. His name was Arabus Wren. It was Huvenan's long time friend and wingman. Approaching the ejector seat that still had Wren's mangled, bloody body strapped into it, the flight leader began weeping and stopped just short. He never thought he would lose his friend this way. Arabus was the best pilot that Tuyen had seen. Now he was gone.

"Are you ok?" asked the squadron commander.

"I will be sir. I just need a moment." Huvenan replied, wiping a tear from his eye.

"Take your time Tuyen," with that, the commander gave the flight lead a light pat on the back before turning back the way he came from.

*****

Huvenan Tuyen had collected himself and Avenger was back on track. Only the commander and executive officer knew where they were headed. They wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. Their troops had already been through hell and back that day and didn't want them being any more worried than they already were.

"So where are we headed?" asked a member of the squadron.

"That way." replied Lieutenant Sansler sharply while pointing directly infront of him.

"That wasn't much help but ok." Uyens, a second flight member, replied shortly.

Avenger Squadron: Raxal Bluesands

Avenger Squadron had been walking for hour, the supplies they had growing heavier, sweating from the midday heat in the vast jungle. The death of Wren hit the squadron hard, seeing his bloodied body limp and motionless in the ejection seat.

That could have been me Raxal Bluesands thought to himself. Walking at the back of the group he was constantly checking behind to make sure they hadn't picked up any unwanted stalkers.

"Sir, can you please tell us where we are going? We have been on our feet for hours walking in the same direction, the sights are getting a little repetitive." Bluesands asked his Flight Leader Huvenam Tuyen.

"When you become a Flight leader Bluesands, you will understand that not everything needs to be shared"

"I understand Sir. You don't know either do you?"

"No," Tuyen turned to catch up with his superiors, leaving Raxal at the rear alone again.

*******

Once night fell in the jungle the order was given to set up a camp for the night.

"Heyeans, Take Cesul, Jogent and Wre.." Nustluz Sansler broke off, he wasn't going to say it, "Take Cesul, Jogent and Bardge, to set up a parameter around the camp, we will change shifts every 4 hours, next watch, Tuyen will take, Bluesands, Pesnil and Unsym, then I will take Besane and Beridus. Is that understood?" He finished off.

"Yes, Sir," came the chorus of the squadron.

With that Raxal made his way to his make-shift hut, sat on the cold floor, puffed jacket to use as a pillow, laid down and drifted into unconsciousness until he was needed again for watch out duty.

Besult was running full speed to get back to the others before they discovered the mine the hard way. Finally, he ran through a thick bush and right on into Mika. Apologizing quickly, he ran through everything that had just happened. After she ran off to relay the news, Besult turned and plowed back into the forest, intent on reaching the traitor before he got too far away.

This isn't a good day.

Besult stumbled into the clearing and kept going forward. He rounded the bend and was rewarded with the sight of the group, walking slowly down the trail. Crouching, he made his way towards them. Then the traitor turned and walked away from the group and off to the side.

Here is my chance. I just need to get to him before he goes back into the group. Good thing I palmed this knife off of Mika. She won't need anytime soon.

Besult sneaked forward until he got to the traitor. Standing a few feet away, he heard the traitor's voice.

I just had an idea. Maybe I can impersonate him. I need to get his voice just right though.

Holding the knife, he edged closer and then jumped toward the traitor and plunged the knife into a weak point between the neck plates. The traitor went down with a gurgled sigh and Besult quickly donned the armor. Practicing the traitor's voice over and over, he was finally satisfied and walked back out to join the group.  They must of known where the traitor was because they had stopped a little ways down the trail. As he joined them, they all nodded and he returned the gesture.

I'm in.

Gheng and Lokeb have been walking for a while, walking away from the wreckage that was Lokeb's TIE Fighter. It wasn't that bad of a walk, giving the terrain of the planet that they were in. Gheng walked with a meditated frame of mind, clearing his mind and continue to concentrate on the mission at hand, which was to find some allies where they could assist in this civil war. He hoped that the rest of the squadron had made it through the barrage of cannon fire that they had went through, for this region needed their help now more than ever.

Gheng watched on as Lokeb was hunting down some lizard in order to get some food for them, which was nice of him to do, especially in their situation. It was interesting, and a little amusing, to see his wingman performing such acts, just enough for him to crack a smile on his serious face. He wanted to help out and catch some of these lizards, but his job was to watch out for any hostiles that would come to take them out. This was his duty.

His watch continued while Lokeb was cooking the meal that was he creating, using the goods that the planet gave to him and those lizards that he caught. Gheng took his share of the meal, and it wasn't all that bad considering what was made of the meal. He nodded to Lokeb on a job well done, for at least, they were giving a good chance for survival. He would make it up to him once they would return to a good cantina, and he would make sure of that.

After the meal, Gheng and Lokeb were on the move again, hoping to reach their destination. Gheng looked to his friend and broke out of his mental meditation, wanting to say something to him.

"You did well with the food. I appreciate your efforts."

Lokeb looked a bit shock as it was the first words to him since discovering his unconscious body a few miles back.

"Well...um...you're welcome."

"Let's keep moving. I think that we are nearing a clearing somewhere around here."

Lokeb again walked quietly down toward the clearing with his quiet comrade Gheng. Nearing the clearing Lokeb noticed the tale tale signs of a squad moving through the same area as they were not to long before they came through. Stopping  Gheng before they went even further Lokeb spoke quietly and pointed out what he saw. “You see these boot tracks their not imperial issue also the broken branches here and here means that these soldiers weren't trained in wilderness survival they've been stumbling through here rather than following the natural flow of things. From the way they were spread out I count five to this squad, our allies run seven to a squad I think it may be a trap.”

Having gaind some new respect for Lokeb Gheng asked “Well what do you suggest we do than?”

Lokeb knelt down an thought a moment before speaking “well their probably expecting us to be walking through here in any where from five to ten minutes. They have probably taken up sniping positions for when we get to the clearing taking us out easily. I say we wait an hour hour and a half tops, they'll start to get uncomfortable and impatient, soon after that they'll come looking for us rather than us come to them, and if their looking that means they will be spread out probably keeping with in line of sight of only one of their squad mates at a time to cover more ground. Working together we can drop them one by one, hows that sound?”

This isn't going to be easy. I need to find some evidence that they are not allies.

Besult had been traveling with the group for around an hour and he had yet to find, hear, or see anything that would indicate that the whole group was the enemy. Sighing, he looked around at each of the five men. Three of them he was sure was not the enemy, but the other two had yet to give anything away that pointed to their alleigence except for the fact that they didn't act anything like the other three. They didn't quite walk like the true allies in the group. Their posture was extremely slouched, which is almost hardly ever seen in the Vast Empire and their steps had less of a march to it. Talking was a different story because they talked exactly like someone from the the Vast Empire Navy, too perfectly as a matter of fact.

Thats it! They must of been coached to sound like us.

Looking closer at their armor, Besult noticed a slight red stain around the neck. As he realized what it was, his blood ran cold.

Its a blood stain... they must of stabbed the original owners of the armor in the throat and then donned the amor... just like I did. Oh jeez, this is bad.

Besult continued to glance at the long red strip on the combat outfit of the traitor in front of him. The material ripped forwards, towards his throat, indicating that the person who inhabits the suit now snuck up on him from behind, and stabbed him. He must of pulled him into the brush, and then taken his armor, just like me thought Besult. The group all carried modified QuickSnap 36t Blaster Carbines, but a crude added length to the clip and a badly welded silencer gave the 36ts' a more shots, and less sound. But the other imposter had a large, round lump in his heel. You had to be looking for something to see it, but the more Besult looked the more he was sure it was there. A small red light crowned the top of both orbes, just visable through the pull-away plastic on the bottom of either boot. Besult knew soldiers often cut away the soles of the boots to put in personal items, such as pictures of their families, or lockets. Besult gulped as he relised what the two orbs were: this imposter had hidden thermal detinators in his shoes, and he planned to use them soon. Suddenly, the imposeter stopped to tie his boot. Besult had to make a quick desition: inform the group of the danger, and fight the imposter but by doing this revealing himself, or countinue on with the group, escaping later but gambling his life and theirs. He chose the first for he knew he could probitaly disarm and incampacitate them before they could he, and could always contact his squadron for help, if the situation became dire. "Hey! Whats that you've got in your boots!?" Shouted Besult, in a perfect imtation of the armors previous owner's voice. The group turned around, alarmed. Total fear ingulfed Besult as the man rose, grinning and ran at him detonating both bombs in his palms. The last thing Besult saw for a good while was a exlpoding man, ingulfed in flames grinning at him. Then the shock wave knock him out.
