It's funny - for the majority of their campaign, the Republican party has been nagging at Obama for his "inexperience", and yet McCain chooses a running mate who's had ZERO foreign-policy experience, AND has only been Governor of Alaska for all of 19 months!

Palin says she's Pro Life. Did I mention her daughter got an abortion? ... oops.

I would raise an eyebrow too, however, I just shook my head when I found out this interview question/response:

Palin: I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place; I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe. Every life lost is such a tragedy. I am very, very proud of the troops we have in Alaska, those fighting overseas for our freedoms, and the families here who are making so many sacrifices.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Sarah, but I think you're running alongside the wrong candidate. McCain has plans to stay in Iraq indefinitely.

One of the primary things I liked about Obama was his campaign. He seemed to focus more on the people and current issues while McCain/Clinton were quick to put up negative ads about Obama; they basically played a political game, and that was a complete turn-off for me because it simply showed that that they were the same Washington we've been trying to rid ourselves of.

Yeah, but does the rest of the world?

This thread reminds me. I need to talk politics with my dad. He's normally a die-hard liberal, but he's apparently been talking about voting McCain. For as well-informed as he usually is, I find this odd, so I need to either find out his reasons or, alternately, make sure he's actually been checking out the facts, as opposed to the 'facts'.

Of course, if he HAD meant it the way they're perceiving it, he'd have a point. No matter how much they point to Palin as your everyday person, sympathetic to small-town America and good ole fashioned values, nothings going to change the fact that she's running as a candidate for a bunch of paranoid, homophobic assholes who think Swift Boat is business as usual.
