-Physical Description-

Short-ish and overweight, Rian is often described as pudgy. He tries hard to hide his weight, but isn’t always successful. He walks with a slouch, his avid hatred for physical work evident even in that simple activity. When sufficiently motivated he can be quick and some-what strong, but it doesn’t happen very often.


-Emotional Description-

Prefers verbal banter over physical violence. Is quite sharp-minded, but often believes himself smarter than he actually is. Is friendly unless something sets him off, and quite a lot sets him off. Is exceptionally skilled in the area of language and understanding others. Has a dual degree in Sociology and Psychology, and likes to say things to make others mad.


-History-

His parents were (and are) wealthy. After graduating Rian chose to set off on his own, traveling the Mid Rim in his Y-2400 freighter. After he and his ship were hijacked by smugglers and forced to fly into Hutt space Rian dropped off the map for four years. When he returned to the Mid-Rim in a heavily modified (and stolen) Alliance A-Wing starfighter, Rian was promptly arrested by New Republic forces for theft.

He managed to bribe his way out of prison with Hutt credits, and as a result he was now not only wanted by the Alliance but also by the Hutts. Now a ‘seasoned’ criminal and convict, Rian had little options in the way of planets to make his home on. He eventually discovered the Vast Empire, and settled down on Lotaith. After nearly a year of no steady income and even more debts Rian was forced to join the Navy for two reasons: 1) He had make some money; and 2) He had to avoid the debt collectors.

While not his first choice of an occupation, Rian could do worse, and he knows it. Still, some of his resentment is pretty obvious at times, and he has been reprimanded for it more than once.

While barely passing the physical requirements to join the Navy, Rian excels at the intellectual part of flying: tactics, mechanics, strategy, physics…all are concepts Rian grasps and understands with ease, resulting in what could become a dangerous pilot.

The Immelman:

The Immelman is a fairly simple maneuver with no direct application, but many indirect applications. It consists of a sharp climb followed by a roll of the ship, resulting in the ship traveling in the opposite direction with little loss of time or speed. It can be used during both offensive and defense; basically, whenever you need to turn around.


Break Turn:

A Break Turn is another simple maneuver used both offensively and defensively. It consistes of a 90 degree roll and then a sharp pitch/dive in the direction of the one wishes to turn. It is used to either: A) Gain position on an enemy quickly, or B) To avoid enemy fire and keeping them from gaining the six o'clock position. Again, used both during offense and defenese, whenever you need to make a sharp (very sharp) turn.
