I think the fact that the majority of her experience is with a population of 6500 and her biggest worry for two years was if there would be enough snow for the Iditarod may discourage a lot of people. Kam "Denethor" Vox

Biden is going to rip her apart in the VP debates. He's a much better public speaker, for one, and he's not a newbie to national politics, for another.
I'm not a fan of the choice, but I'm also in the Obama camp. Palin is Pro-Life and anti-gay marriage. She advocated teaching intelligence design in schools. The points Japheth made are exactly what may make her a good choice after all. Those positions appeal to a lot of neoconservative Republicans, and many others toward the right-wing of the party. McCain started off this election very weak with the far right-wing, and whatever else Palin has to say, this is likely to shore up his support with that bloc. Plus, she's pretty hot for 44. In a way that is odd, but I'm sure that you need to look at it from other country's points of view. Americans don't care about politics in other countries. Why? Because we're Americans and in our minds, we're the only country that matters. However, there isn't as much ignorance in other countries towards the rest of the world, and people actually pay attention to what other countries are doing. And yes, they especially pay attention to what Americans are doing, especially during this point in history, because they want to know if we're going to vote in someone that's eventually going to blow them up.
