Stormz stepped into a small briefing room filled with the Kaph squadron members. C-3PX2 had recently stepped down as the Squadron Commander. The Wookiee had been placed as the new Commander with the droid as his Executive Officer to help make the transition easier on everyone.

[Hello everryone. As you all know, C-3 has rresigned as the Squadrron Commanderr. Naval High Command has given me the position and placed ourr beloved drroid as my Executive Officerr.] Stormz growled with no expression on his face. [Seeing as how most of the squadrron is made of new rrecrruits, I am going to be holding a simulation so you all can get used to a TIE Fighter's controls and abilities. This simulation will also be a compeition. It will be a flight versus flight battle. Are there any questions?]

Stormz gave a quick glance around the room. No one had any questions for the new Squadron Commander.

[Alrright, simulation begins in two hourrs. I expect each of you to be in yourr flight suits and in the simulation rroom by that time. Dismissed.]

*****

C-3PX2 and Stormz waited anxiously for their squad members to arrive.

"What are you going to do about the third flight?" C-3 asked.

[Only one memberr rremains, BL1028. She will join me in Flight One.]

"Very well, good luck old friend." The Kaph XO said as he meandered toward his flight and their set of simulators. Stormz did the same, noticing that his flight mates were already strapped in and ready to go.

[A little anxious arre we?] Stormz bellowed.

"Yessir," replied BL and Hunter.

[Good, I like enthusiasm. Just make surre you watch eachotherr's backs. Mind what I tell you, it could save yourr life.]

"Roger."

With that, Ph'rranix jumped into his specially designed simulator. He had forgotten how small it was, even compared to a normal TIE. The Squadron Commander strapped hisself in and began working on the simulation settings. A few moments later and all six of the occupied simulators started up. The battle had now began.

OOC:
This is a just a training mission. I would like to see some activity, unlike our last story. Have fun with this, and becareful.

Oh, and don't kill everyone off in a few posts. Let's make this realistic.

“So we’re going to be flying in flight simulators, right? Hunter jokingly asked.

“Yeah. We are. Sucks don’t it.” BL1028 said in a sad voice.

Hunter just grimaced as BL jumped into his simulator. Sighing, Hunter jumped into his simulator, ready for whatever came they’re way. Inside the simulator, everything come to life and it was like Hunter was in the cockpit of his TIE. The sounds were the same, the lights were the same, and even the squeaky noise the seats makes when he leaned back  was there, or was he imagining that?

Maybe this won’t be so bad.

Just then he entered the battle.

“Okay. Based on what I see, we are even numbered.” Hunter said with great detail.

“Well how did you figure that out genius?” Speed said sarcastically.

Hunter just ignored her and continued on with the flight simulation. While flying around, Hunter started experimenting with different maneuvers. Starting with a corkscrew, he continued on until he had done everything he knew. Then Flight Two of Kaph reached them and the dogfights begun. In Hunter's sights was C-3, who was doing nearly the same thing as Hunter was, namely flying around doing different maneuvers.

“Hey C-3, you got one on your six. Its me. You want to do this the easy way or the hard way?” Hunter asked in a joking manner.

“Heh. You can't shoot what you can't catch. Yeehaw!” C-3 yelled as he proceeded to flip upside down and come down behind Hunter.

“Alright. If thats how you want to play it." Hunter said menacingly as he cut all power to the engines and stopped.

Hunter laughed as C-3 overflew him, but stopped when he put on speed, gaining distance.

Then, somebody flew past the cockpit, almost knocking off a wing in the process. Hunter cursed and wanted to find out who the pilot was, so he restored engine's power and took off in pursuit.

[Hunterr, get back in forrmation beforre C-3 blows you to bits.] The Wookiee roared into his comlink. Within an instant, the Kaph pilot was back with his flight. [Alrright, now that we arre togetherr. Flight 1, go in to diamond forrmation. Name yourr enemy beforre a shot, and be safe. Stick togetherr.]

A confirmation came from the Kaph Commander's flight members. Looking behind and to his left and right, Stormz saw the new recruits enter into a perfect diamond formation. He looked down at his radar. Only two fighters were showing up on his screen.

[Watch out forr the thirrd fighterr. They arre obviously trying to get behind us.]

"Roger Kaph 1," came the reply from BL1028 and Hunter-Morrell.

"This is Kaph 2. I am moving to intercept Kaph 6 now." Hunter said enthusiastically.

[Rogerr Kaph 2. I will take Kaph 6.]

Rolling out of the formation, Stormz accelerated toward C-3PX2, the most experienced pilot in Kaph. The pair zig-zagged around open space for several minutes. Unable to gain an advantage on the Kaph Veteran, Ph'rranix backed off a few meters. The Wookiee glanced down at his radar. Another enemy craft was approaching, fast. Stormz assumed that C-3 was going to pull out of the way just in time for his flight member to shoot him. A few moments later and Stormz found his hypothesis to be true. As the droid rolled left, Stormz rolled right, avoiding the lasers and a potential collision. The Kaph Squadron Commander had a new problem now though. His Executive Officer was behind him and getting closer with each second. Instinctively, Stormz pulled back and left on the control stick. Causing the TIE Fighter he was in  to perform a half roll, half loop. The inertia that was exerted for the simulator caused the Wookiee's eyes to close. He let go a millisecond before blacking out from the pressure. He shook his head to regain and composure checked the radar for an enemy craft. There were none.

OOC:
Just a side note, B cannot speak, and when she uses her Voice, it does not display any emotion.

B Lasiter was not sure how she felt about a "Practice" session. It almost felt like a waste of time, she figured. After the briefing she went back to her quarters and slowly pulled on her flight suit with grace. Once she was ready she pulled her Voice from her discarded clothes. She had been working on a new model for her box since the last mission.

She had modified it immensely, working for a more efficient model than what she had been given. For it to work properly she couldn't except someone else to fix it. The time she had spent in a TIE had been filled with glitches. Her voice would pick up some words but leave other words out of the sentence. What she had to type out wasn't a lot, but it reassured her the cheap model her "teachers" had given her wasn't the best they had on hand.

Lasiter rolled back her flight suit sleeve on her left hand. She was ambidextrous so either hand could be used to fly or type, but by random selection she went with her left. The ports on her hands were still intact. She had left them there for this purpose. The gray circles about an inch in diameter gleaned up at her in the poor lighting of her room. She took the new adapter that had been sitting on her bed and plugged it into her wrist, This adapter had five small rods that extended from the base. The spider-like device had little hats that protruded from the end. B took these caps and pulled them over the tips of her fingers and flexed her hand. The rods were easily bendable and light to the touch. she tested it out. Her fingers moved rapidly, mimicking the motions of a hand on a real keyboard, instead of her imaginary one. "Yessir" came floating out of her Voice in it's metallic drone. She was satisfied.

This knew technology she installed passed a frequency from her wrist to the box without wires, but her voice would still be connected to the Comm in the TIE. She attached her Voice to her belt, rolled down her sleeve and left her room for the simulation room.

B arrived early before her new squadron commander did and simply settled herself into a TIE. She then connected her voice to her Comm with care, and took it for another test. When she found it worked to her satisfaction, she began her wait for the rest of the squadron.

She did not notice the passing of time as listened to the bodies of her squadron mates shuffle about outside her simulator. Soon she heard a voice directed at her; she replied with a "Yessir", as it was already programed and an easy response.

She stared at the blank screen in front of her as the lights began to dim in her little space. Her commander's voice filled her ear as the vastness of space occupied the area in front of her.

She followed the commander's directions as her flight flew together into a diamond formation, executed with precise speed and accuracy. BL kept an eye on the radar, looking for enemy bodies. She listened as the Commander over rid her flight member's decision to go after the former-commander. She went on the defense-her plan was to let someone attack first. That would be their first mistake and she was going to exploit it. Those were simple rules to follow in any circumstance. Let them make the first mistake. Her first opportunity would come soon enough.

Warrant Officer First Class Tizzir was having lunch at the mess hall (an activity he frequently enjoyed during his earlier days in the navy). He had apparently come back at just the right time...there was a brand new Squadron Commander and the squad was scheduled to do a simulation exercise. Normally, he was not particularly fond of them but after a few years of not being a particularly active pilot it seemed a welcome change of pace for him. The action seemed real and only caused minimal real damage to the individual(s) involved. Tizzir had more of a problem getting into one than anything else.

Today was Tizzir's first day back and he purposely decided to be late. He had already met with the officers that he needed to (save his Squadron Commander) and everyone else was in the simulation already. He decided if he was going to be late regardless; he might as well have a good meal beforehand. Tizzir was a different man than he was when he left, but some things cannot be changed...even something as simple as eating habits. Identities on the other hand....are very easy to change provided you have the right....connections. After leaving the Navy there was reason to change who he was. Therefore Tizzir came into existance.

Somehow duty had driven him back. There was a part of him that never really felt whole after leaving. He had a family member that had never stopped serving in the army and that did not make things any easier for Tizzir. Many times he felt as if he was living in the shadow of his cousin. It was no longer of any concern now...he was home. Tizzir finished his meal and made his way to the Simulation Rooms to find which one his squadron was in and to hopefully meet his Squadron Commander and Flight Leader.

He got lost a couple times but he eventually found his way. There was a silver protocol droid waiting for him outside the simulation complex. The droid was well polished as Tizzir could see everything reflected on the droid. For something so polished though it had the most boring voice that he had heard from a droid. It constantly droned on.

"Excuse me sir but might you be Warrant Officer Tizzir?" the droid asked.

"I might be..."

"I beg your pardon but either you are or you aren't."

"Fine. Have it your way. I am."

"It is good to hear sir. I have been tasked with the important job of informing you that your squadron is waiting for you in the simulator. They are expecting your presence at anytime sir."

"I know that much. I suppose that is all they wanted you to tell me?"

"Oh no sir. I also have been instructed to show you to the propper simulation room."

"Well, how about that? A droid that is not totally useless! There might just be hope after all."

"Thank you....I think. This way..."

Tizzir quietly followed the droid to where his new squadron was waiting for him. It is good to be back. he thought.

Stormz jerked his fighter into a tight left-hand barrel roll trying to avoid the Kaph XO's laser fire. One shot came inches away from the tip of his left wing while the other skimmed the outer portion of the same wing. Another roll, this time to the right sent his fighter into safety from C-3PX2's onslaught.

The pair zig-zagged for what seemed like eternity to the new Squadron Commander.

[Kaph 3, come in.] Stormz growled frantically.

"BL here. Whatcha need boss?" the Senior Crewman asked.

[You arre to my 2 O'clock corrrrect?]

"Yes sir."

[Turn to point two. I am going to turn to face you then rroll overr yourr cockpit. At that time light the bandit on my tail up.]

"Copy that."

The Wookiee did just as he had yawed to face her just as he told BL1028. The only thing he could do now was hope she had a good shot. Thirty meters from his flight mate and he began his roll. Stormz looked out his view port and watched as BL laid her laser cannons into C-3's TIE Fighter. His fighter blew up in a brilliant display of white and blue flames.

“No. No! NO! YEAH BABY!” Hunter yelled as Melmoth come up behind him, got a lock, and took a shot, and missed by an hair due to a wild dive Hunter had executed at the last moment.

After the dive, Hunter completed a loop and ended up behind Melmoth.

“Alrighty. Targeting Melmoth.” Hunter said into his comm.

[Copy Hunter. Go for it.] Stormz said in his rumbling voice.

Hunter took the shot and was astonished to find out he missed. He quickly shook himself out of it and looked for where Melmoth was, but there was no sign of him. Looking behind him, Hunter saw that he had let Melmoth get behind him. Cursing himself, Hunter suddenly cut the throttles and flipped the TIE upside down. He closed his eyes and took a shot. Green bolts of energy grazed the left wing, throwing the TIE into a spin which wasn’t easily corrected. By the time Melmoth had stabilized his erratic flight path, Hunter was upon him. The laser cut through the TIE, breaking it into pieces.

“YEEEEEEHHAAAAAWWWW!” Hunter happily yelled into the comm.

“One down, two to go. I took down Melmoth.” Hunter said with a wide grin.

[Good job Hunter. Now we need to get Tizzer.] Stormz said.

“I’ll get Tizzer.” Hunter said.

Hunter swung around as he looked for Tizzer. He saw a Tie in the distance on his radar and turned towards it, having no doubt that it was Tizzer. Pushing the TIE to its limits, Hunter closed the gap. Tizzer must have spotted Hunter because he turned and raced towards Hunter. They were on a collision course and either they were very brave or incredibly stupid. Before long, they were close enough to see each other in their respective cockpits. Briefly, Hunter wondered if would survive and then…

green bolts came flying at Hunter from Tizzir's TIE. It was an instinctual reaction Tizzit picked up back when he was in the Navy last time. Unfortunately though, he had long since been practicing. His skills were very rusty and therefore he missed. Hunter managed to escape being blasted to bits and the crash (one of the two would had happened but Tizzir thought he had nailed his target so he maneuvered out of the path) and was closely chasing Tizzir down again.

Tizzir knew he had to do something Hunter was now provoked if anything. He tried to get behind Hunter's TIE to avoid being blasted himself but it did not work. Hunter was trying to do the same, assuming that Tizzir would not miss a second time. Things were starting to look as if it would come to a stalemate between the two of them, that is until something neither of them expected happened.

Stormz joined in on the hunt. Now it was two against one and it did not look like it was in Tizzir's favor. Hunter was slightly irritated that he could not shoot down Tizzir himself; Tizzir had similar emotions but more so because now he had to avoid two ships instead of one. He had no idea how he did it but somehow he managed to elude both of their laser-cannons to the point where they stopped shooting. Tizzir knew they could not have given up; rather, he wondered what they were upto. What could they possibly been planning?

[Kaph 2, I am backing off forr a moment,] Stormz growled. [Continue pursuit while I attempt to gain a better angle on the bandit.

"Yes sir." Came the reply from Hunter. Stormz pulled up on his control stick of the TIE Fighter he was in and blasted away.

[Kaph 3 you copy?]

"I copy Kaph Leader."

[BL I want you to fly head-on toward the bandit. I will come in frrom his 9 O'clock. If you have a clearr shot, take it. Just rrememberr that Hunterr is behind the enemy.]

"Yes sir," BL said. She changed course to intersect head on with Tizzir. Not only was the going to be gutsy, but also risky. The Squadron Commander had seen her in previous battles however, and was confident in her accuracy.

"Coming around," BL informed the first Flight of Kaph Squadron. Stormz watched while moving in towards Tizzir. Three pair of green laser bolts left BL1028's fighter.

[Hunterr slow yourr purrsuit. BL has firred and I don't want you hit by a stray blast.]

Hunter did as he was told, and thankfully so. Tizzir rolled out of the way of her shots. They were now directly in line for her flight mate. A simple maneuver from Hunter, however, and he was in the clear as well. BL swung her fighter up and around to re-enter the cat and mouse chase that had already gone on too long.

Then without warning, Tizzir pulled up and cut his throttle, allowing the two members from Flight One to pass him. Once again, the bandit had the upper hand. A few short seconds later and several shots came from Tizzir's fighter. Only a single blast made contact. It was a well placed shot however, disabling Hunter's targeting and radar system.

"I am moving clear of the battle for a moment sir. I just lost my radar and targeting systems." Hunter yelled. It was no mystery that he was aggravated to say the least.

[Very well. BL, I am going to attempt to move in behind the bandit. Just stay alive long enough for me to gain a clear shot.

The Kaph Commander moved in, sliding directly behind the bandit. His targeting system showed a clear shot. Stormz pulled the trigger and watched as the green bolts appeared from beneath his view port. A shot clipped  the arm holding his right wing on. Another skimmed the top of his cockpit. The third shotscored a direct hit on the engine comparrtment causing the TIE to turn into a ball of flames instantly.

Then, without warning, the simulator shut off. The battle was over and Kaph squadron exited their respective simulators. Just before allowing everyone to leave Stormz gathered the squadrons attention for a few last words, or growls really.

[Excellent flying today, everyone. Fly like that in a our missions and you will have nothing to worry about.] Stormz looked at C-3PX2, his Executive Officer, before dismissing them.

[Dismissed.]
