== Background History ==
Growing up, Valen led a normal life. School, chores, friends and sports took up the majority of his time as a child and well into his teenage years. His passion for sports, and grav-ball in particular was apparent as his talents at the sport allowed the young Corellian to shine at the collegiate level.
Over the years, Valen's abilities gained more and more attention from teams on the universal scale and upon graduating from Corellia University was among the top young prospects for grav-ball super stardom.
However, this path was not meant to be as rather than turning pro, Valen inexplicably said his goodbyes and shipped off to the Vast Empire's Army Academy. To this day he is tight-lipped about the reasons for his decision.
== Character's Personality ==
Having spent many years, with all eyes on him, Valen has grown accustomed to the pressures that come with it. Apart from his phsyical gifts in the grav-ball arena, the Corellian's main draw to the scouts was his team-first attitude in which he would literally sacrifice his body if it benefitted the team. Valen has carried this mentality with him into the academy. During several simulated missions he has comitted acts which albeit successful and helped his recruit squad, they were considered by his trainers to be reckless, and even suicidal gaining Valen the nickname Deathwish in the process.
During regular day-to-day life, Valen is quite outgoing and unafraid to voice his opinion. Although he chose the military path and refuses to explain why, he is always open to participating in athletic activities with others on the base.
