... holy ... 8 posts ... one day ... and umm ... good work

"Crimson 2, cover me when you can. I need to make a few repairs before we attempt the other three." Mel spoke through his COM, this probably meant Bacredi to. But Bacredi didn't listen, there was still the other three TIE/Ds to care about. Forming on his back Crimson 8 and 7 followed Bacredi at full speed, ion engines glaring, green laserfire began to be exchanged. Bacredi watched as two of the fighters chased forward in the same trio alignment as Bacredi and the other two Crimson members.

"Crimson 8 and 7 this is Crimson 5, Crimson 6 is on my tail. We are forming up behind Crimson 8 and 7, and Kaph 2." Crimson 5, the XO of Crimson Squadron had a coruscanti accent that filled Bacredi's COM. Two shots from Crimson 7 took out one of the starfighters. The other two then waddled off, being chased by some of the Kaph Members. "Crimson 6, 7, 8 and Kaph 2. Follow my lead!"

"Copy, Crimson 5." Bacredi said, drooping behind the group of TIEs. Four Crimson pilots were ahead of them, they were heading for the enemy formation. Four CR90s came closer and closer, the first one labeled as Tyat opened fire. Two droid starfighters came closer only to be shunned off by laser fire. The five pilots then dropped down over the Tyat and fired, each fighter shot a different amount of times. Now they dove beneath the second CR90 in the formation, and fired at its rear turret. Soon all of the pilots began to rock back and forth. Laserfire barraged at them from the CR90's turrets.

"This is Crimson 5, we have bogies incoming, I repeat we have bogies incoming." Crimson 5's voice rang through Bacredi's COM, at this time all 5 of the Vast Empire Naval Pilots flew out away from the CR90s. Mel's TIE flew straight forward towards the 5 pilots, followed by Crimson 2. Suddenly five TIE/D joined the fray. "Fire!"

Laser fire began to fly everywhere, and suddenly Bacredi's TIE got hit. On the wing again, he lost all of his shields. Switching Speed Gain/On his TIE sped up. One TIE was on his back.

"Mel, get this bastard off of me!" Bacredi screamed avoiding the TIE/Ds lasers. One of the lasers came desperately close to Bacredi, he could see the laser streak scrape some armor off on its passing. But then Mel came in, and went straight behind the TIE/D.

"I am here Kaph 2. Hold tight." Mel shot once, missing the TIE/D but alerting it of his presence. "Crimson 2 form on me."

"Copy Kaph 8," Crimson 2s male voice went into Bacredi's ear as laserfire drowned it out.

"Shit guys!" Bacredi said as his fighter shook again, and he began to lose speed. "Dropping for another pass, get em' this time please."

Bacredi dropped his fighter down, and Mel and Crimson 2 over shot. Again. Moving past more and more blasts he could not hold on for much longer, just hit them.

Forteen Droids left, Sovern thought to him self before setting up another attack run. Speaking on the comms he smiled to himself “Crimson 4 you out there?”

It wasn’t long till he heard “Yeah him still here”

Sovern chuckled “Glad your still alive wana share some droids their running a little thin”

~Pop pop~ was heard over the channel “Yeah sure just can you give me a hand with this persistent droid”

“No problem” Sovern found Crimson 4 on his radar and quickly moved to his position sure enough Crimson 4 was in a bit of trouble. “Crimson 4 I need you to help me engage the target on the count of three break right….3...2...1 Break right.” As ordered Crimson 4 broke right and dived. Banking a hard right Sovern engaged the droid. The droid rolled in to a negative push over to follow Crimson 4 which was soon followed by Sovern. The dance went on for several seconds Soverns primary concern at the moment was to keep his sudo wing man alive. Pulling out of a barrel roll Sovern switched to missiles and gained a lock. Checking the IFF he made sure he was locked on to the droid and not Crimson 4 and fired. The droid rolled and fired chaffs and flares the missile veered off course and hit the chaff but it was close enough to the droid to do damage. Its systems began to spark and over load one by one until it disintegrated.

“Kaph 10 scratches another droid”

Forming up along side Crimson 4 the two fighters slalomed between each other as they hunted down another droid. It was a tag team match both fighters looking to best the other as they chased down the droid. Sovern fired his blasters forceing the droid off its intended path. Sling shooting around Soverns fighter Crimson 4 fired and rolled again the droid was forced another direction. “Kaph 10 to Crimson 4 how about we finish this droid off?” Crimson 4 replied “Just a little longer this is kind of fun” Sovern chuckled and couldn’t help but to agree. The droid pitched up and accelerated, adjusting their power settings Sovern and Crimson 4 followed suit barrel rolling around each other takeing pot shots on the poor droid. When ever the droid would try and turn to its allies Sovern or his wingman would block it as the circled the area of space they were in. A few more seconds of the chase went on before Crimson 4 finally locked on target and fired a direct hit on the droids pod. The droid didn’t even spin out of control it blew up in a flash of nothing. Sovern rolled at the same time Crimson 4 did and in unison “Scratch another one” came from both fighters as they turned to tag team another fighter. The main part of the battle was some distance so the both set the accelerators to maximum dipping past the stray bolts of blaster fire that came their way. As they reentered battle Sovern heard the missile lock alarm go off, rocking hard Sovern rolled and dove avoiding the missile Crimson 4 didn’t react fast enough and the stray missile turned regained a lock on him and scored a direct hit. Crimson 4 spun out of control in an elliptical barrel roll over the comms could be heard aughha buzz buzz arghhha as Crimson 4’s pilot struggled to gain some sort of control over his craft but to no avail. His pod filled with fire and soon erupted in a cloud of space dust no bigger than dandruff.

"Kretting fecks, man! Stand still!" Mel shouted as he desperately tried to take down the starfighter, which was chasing Bacredi.

"Come on, Mel! Shoot it!" Bacredi yelled, still being showered by a rain of laserfire.

"Bacredi, make a sharp left." Mel said, with a tense throat.

"How will that help?"

"Just turn left, and don't stop!"

Bacredi sighed and made a sharp curve to the left, then continuing with slighter curves. Somehow, Mel was right behind the starfighter, and Bacredi smiled a bit. The starfighter, being conisistent in it's doings, continued to follow Bacredi, but Mel had already sent a wave of his own fire before it locked back on to Bacredi.

To destroy a droid, one must know a droid.

Mel laughed a bit at his victory, and Bacredi let out a "Yes!"

"I think you need to stay on the sidelines a bit longer, Bacredi. We know you're hurt and so do the droids."

"I'll see what I can do."

The battle with the Tie Droids was definitely winding down the odds were in Kaphs and Crimsons favor. Sticking to the out skirts of the battle Sovern took stock of what condition his fighter was in. He had only a few missiles left his power supply was in good condition he was out of chaffs and flares and the fighter’s pylons and ailerons were slightly damaged. Aside from some heat abrasion damage the fighter was still structurally sound. Adjusting his course and heading he popped his neck and prepared for another dog fight. He wasn’t sure about the others but he was having fun it might have been morbid or vulgar but he didn’t care the adrenaline that coursed through his body during a dog fight was addictive.
Sovern soon found his next target a droid returning to battle on a similar course as he was. Easing down below the droids plane of flight he listed behind the droid with out it noticing. Sovern pulled up so easy so gently as not to alert the droid of his presence. It was challenging not to just go flat out attack but he wanted to see if he could do it see if he was skilled enough to perform a soft kill. Slow ever so slowly he increased his speed to match the droids than another nudge to the accelerator to let him catch up with the droid. Sovern was ginning like a Nexu now as he started setting up a firing solution for one of his last remaining missiles. Easy now don’t be aggressive Sovern thought as he switched off the missile locking system it was going to be a blind fire kill a silent kill a soft kill. He was in range now he knew his angle of attack and speed and he was far enough away from the heart of the battle to avoid and friendly fire for this. Flipping the arming switch Sovern fired the missile fired straight and true and with out the missile lock warning the droid didn’t chaff didn’t flare. The missile hit the droids central pod with out warning with out even an “augh” from the droid itself just a blast in the night.

Kane continued his massively unorthodox flying, weaving in and out, playing shadow games with the remaining droids. Somehow he had managed to separate two of them from their squadron, or perhaps that’s what they wanted him to think. Kane decided that he had been in this fighter long enough, and he wanted to end it.

Breaking hard to port he spun on the two droid TIEs, bearing down on them hard. A guidance lock greeted Kane’s actions, but again he was too close to deploy. Gripping the yoke hard he unleashed a barrage of laser fire on the droids, twisting his cannons left and right, keeping the droid he had targeted off guard. If the droid was taking damage on the left AND the right, then it wouldn’t have a clue about which way to break.

Kane quickly wore down the droid’s shields, but that didn’t stop either Kane or the droid from trying to out do each other. The droid pitched and began to climb, and Kane simply smirked and began to dive. This confused the droid, causing it to break off it’s maneuver. This bought Kane all the time he needed, angling back towards the belly of the droid TIE and waiting for guidance lock. The tone sounded in the cockpit and Kane unleashed one of his two remaining missiles. Kane reduced his airspeed as much as possible to put distance between the TIEs so that any damage he took from the concussive blast upon impact would cause on his own fighter.

Kane couldn’t sit too long, but he couldn’t help watching the missile streaking closer and closer. As if by some strange twist of fate, at the moment of impact with the droid, Kane’s own warning system sounded, alerting him to an incoming missile. Starting from only thirty percent speed, he quickly accelerated as hard as he could and banked wide. He warning was getting louder and more urgent. Kane tried to survey the distance between himself and the missile, but he couldn’t spin around enough to see clearly.

Without any other options, Kane deployed his flares and broke into a hard-g barrel roll, praying that the missile was close enough to take the bait. He felt as though he had pushed his craft through a black hole by the time he brought the craft around proper. No warnings in his cockpit and no gaping hole trying to suck him into space. With a sigh of relief Kane surveyed his radar and noticed that there were friendlies nearing the CR90s.

“Like hell you do!” Kane guided his TIE towards the flight forming offensive passes near the Tyat.

“Kaph 2 and Kaph 8, I didn’t receive an invitation to the party with the big boys!” Kane radioed to his squad mates, closing the distance between them. He saw the droid chasing down Bacredi get lit up, and he watched with a grin as Sovern blew out the pod from another fighter. It was appearing as though he was missing all the fun.

With a single missile left, no chaff to deploy in case one of the nine remaining droids feels ambitious, and less than a quarter of his shield power remaining, it was going to be a close fight. Kane rolled hard to avoid fire from the Tyat as he approached, then returned fire of his own. He saw the impact on the ship’s hull, but a fighter against the CR90 was akin to trying to take out the Death Star with a blaster rifle. Still, it satisfied him to know that the Tyat was vulnerable, even if not by a great enough degree to make him able to rip it apart by himself. The return fire did get the attention of a droid in the area, who immediately fell in behind Kane.

“Kaph 4 this is Kaph 8, you’ve got a bogie on your six.”

Thank you Captain Obvious Kane thought as he broke hard for the Tyat. It was a suicide move, but he felt he could move faster than the turrets on the underside of the corvette. Flying low and fast, Kane lined up his fighter with the turret that seemed to anticipate his move. Kane went into a tight spiral dive just as the turret fired, missing his fighter but clipping the wing off the droid behind him. The droid began to spiral as well, but not intentionally and not as gracefully as Kane. Kane kept diving, trying hard not to vomit in his helmet as his body reacted to the g-forces of the maneuver. It was either keep diving or stay within range of that turret, neither of which he wanted to do but he opted for the lesser of two evils.

After he dove for what seemed like a light year, Kane pulled out and shook his head hard, trying to clear the cobwebs and regain some sort of normal vision. Trying to study the radar as dizzy as he was was no small feat, but he managed to notice he had put quite a bit of distance between himself and the Tyat above. This also meant a bit of distance between himself and the rest of his squadron, who he was sure were running as ragged as he was.

Without delay, Kane pitched upwards, angling himself away from the danger zone under the Tyat and climbing steadily back towards the battle. He couldn’t resist looking out for the damaged droid fighter, and was elated to see a one-winged TIE/D trying to make it’s way towards a corvette for safety.

“Not today you won’t” would have been the last thing the droid heard, if it could hear Kane. Instead, it would have to settle for the sound of it’s hull being torn apart by laser blasts the instant before the fighter was destroyed and the droid was nothing more than another mark on the back of Kane’s helmet.

“This is Kaph 4. Two more notches on my belt. Are there plans on attacking the 90s before they make any jump, or are we just going to let them go?”

“Kaph 10 to Kaph 4 if you hadn’t noticed from your less than brilliant stunt Twilight squadron the Lilith and the two lancers are engaging the CR90’s were supposed to be mopping up these drones”

That was the reply Sovern gave to his squadron mate before engaging one of the remaining droids. Two droids dropped behind him as he accelerated to the flank of his intended target. His pursuing droids split off one droid breaking right and high the other breaking left and low. The droid he was pursuing dove hard and initiated a split maneuver and engaged him. Sovern couldn’t help but smile to himself this was definitely going to be a challenge he might die but that didn’t bother him. It was three to one odds now for moment. That was all fine by him, remembering his training he initiated one versus many defensive basic fighter maneuvers.

It felt like he was being swarmed alarms going off all over the place and blaster fire coming from every direction. Sovern felt his aggression kick up a notch and accelerated performing slaloms and serpentine maneuvers to prevent a missile lock and drifting in and out of debris such as disabled fighters and other chunks of metal to screen the blaster shots.  Rolling and pitching he forced the droids to give up firing solutions that they were attempting and reengage, in the midst of all the stress Sovern smirked than a chuckle came out than he started laughing echoing through the comms.  Twisting and rolling keeping his pursuers off balance was his first and priority concern.

Banking hard and pitching up relatively speaking his fighter snapped the other direction and rolled to most other pilots this would have made them dizzy and Sovern worked hard not to get dizzy him self. The trick was to find a focus point right in front of him and concentrate on that rather looking to the side. Splitting the difference of two of his pursuers he initiated a hard cross and engaged the third one. Switching to blasters he opened fire, the droid rolled left in to a negative push over Sovern rolled right to follow suit. His port was filled with blaster fire from his pursuers but Sovern was determined to at least take one more droid down before the other two got him. Banking hard in to a defensive barrel roll a second droid passed him while the last was able to counter with a low speed yo-yo. About time Sovern thought to him self once again he pulled the trigger with a barrage of blaster fire one of the three Tie/D’s disintegrated.

Sovern wasn’t out of the woods yet he was still sandwiched between the two other droids one in front one in back. The droid in front disengaged a split second later the alert that the droid behind him was attempting to get a missile lock on sounded. This was not good but better than it was moments ago.  Sovern pitched down and accelerated forcibly breaking the missile lock. The droid that temporarily disengaged had now reengaged still one versus many defensive basic fighter maneuvers. Pitching up he rolled his fighter in an ascending spiral ending in an immelman maneuver. Rolling another ninety degrees Sovern cut his engines let his fighter fall for a long second before firing them back up this confused the droids just long enough for him to get the drop one of his pursuers. Going evasive the Droid accelerated but it was too late as Sovern opened up on the droid with full blasters sending pieces and parts drifting every which way.

Sovern than turned his attention to his last dance partner bringing all weapons to bare, the droid having experienced losing a three to one battle retreated. That made Sovern laugh even harder. Attempting to regain his composure Sovern got on the comms “Heh heh Kaph 10 two more droids down” Than in a rush of excitement “Man this is a dream!!”

Saadia was in his TIE Fighter and said: "There are the enemies, I better move in closer." He moved in closer and the enemies weren't there! "Oh my gosh they disappeared! I'll go and find other enemies."
BOOM!!! A laser hit Saadia's TIE. Saadia heard another laser fire and just dodged it. He then slowed down and the enemies went in front of him and Saadia fired like crazy but not any shots hit the
targets. They then got behind Saadia and fired. Saadia looked at his shield display and it said: "WARNING." Saadia then pressed some buttons that he didn't know what they did, and a guided missile came out and missed one of his enemies. "Darn!"  "I just have to know which button I pressed and I can try again." Saadia started pressing buttons franticly. "There!" "Got it" said Saadia. Nothing came out...
but his WARNING sign stopped. "I must of found and extra shield!"

“…less than brilliant stunt…”

After that, Kane quit listening to what Sovern was yapping about. Once he heard silence on the comm he opened the channel back to Sovern, replying with a laugh.

“Bwahaha! Less than brilliant stunt? And I suppose stopping mid-flight so a droid can fly it’s fighter up your rear porthole before spinning around qualifies as a brilliant stunt. I’m still alive, and more than half the Crimson squadron isn’t. So maybe being less than brilliant up here is a good thing. Oh, and remember Sovern, I out-rank you mate. So I would suggest thinking through your response before giving it. But I’ll dismiss your lack of respect due to an apparent lack of oxygen in your cockpit.”

Kane flipped off the comm and focused on the remaining handful of droids. Part of him wanted to leave the battlefield, get out of the cramped cockpit and stretch his legs, and another part of him wanted to be responsible for bringing down as many hostile as he could.

His radar scans revealed very little. A few dogfights happening between the remnants of the Crimson squad and a pair of droids in one sector, a formation making patrols in another sector. Kane shrugged and began damage control, assessing the condition of his fighter and making a quick inventory of his remaining weapons cache.

One missile left, 19% on my shields, and it looks like my starboard wing has seen better days he thought as he surveyed his craft. Kane turned back towards the Lobos, making a circuit of the battlefield. He caught a glimpse of a fighter off to his side, but assumed it was another Kaph forming as his wingman. Kane’s thoughts changed as quickly as his situation. Somehow he had caught the attention of a droid flying near the Lobos, presumably to pick off crippled friendlies as they made their way back to dock. Only this droid underestimated his target.

The droid was close enough to keep it from deploying a missile, which probably saved Kane’s life. However, the range for it’s lasers was fine, and in a few short heartbeats Kane’s shields were nearly depleted. Kane pitched hard to port, diving to gain speed and put some distance between the crafts. Gripping the yoke tightly with one hand, he quickly rerouted power from his missile guidance system to his aft shields, not worrying about firing the other missile at the moment. He heard a warning from his console, displaying information concerning the guidance system’s power loss. Kane killed the alarm with the flip of a switch, shaking hard as laser fire continued to assault him.

Bloody hell! he thought as he broke into a hard roll, sort of a combination between a barrel roll and a spiral dive. It bought him some time and some distance, but distance was quickly becoming a foe rather than a friend. Kane knew if he got too far he’d become an easy target for the droid’s missiles, but if he didn’t get far enough he’d get picked apart by it’s lasers. He tried to find the sweet spot as he juked hard, trying as much to shake the pursuit as he tried to gain the upper hand.

There were no hostiles around to play chicken with, and he was at the halfway point between the Lobos and the CR90s. He gritted his teeth and pitched hard once again, trying to split from the hostile. So far, nothing was working in his favor.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Kane slammed his fist on his console, growling as his radar showed he was still being pursued. “What is this thing? Glued to my engines?”

He rolled hard again, looking for a way out of this mess. Another round of laser fire found it’s mark, bringing his reinforced shields down below 15%. Kane shook his head as he thought of Sovern, smirking a bit as he’d probably love this one.

Kane pitched into a dive, then he pulled back as hard as he could on the yoke while simultaneously killing his engines. The hope was his momentum would carry him through the loop while at the same time causing his pursuer to overshoot him. Hopefully the droid was too intent on sticking with the break neck twists to notice the craft appearing to have stalled.

The droid was half-past Kane before it realized what had happened. Those few seconds were all the time Kane needed, firing up his engines and accelerating through the loop. He fired off a few parting shots at the droid TIE before speeding off to the relative safety of the rest of the friendly squadrons.

Hearing the attempted insult from Kane made, Sovern laugh and shake his head. A cursory look showed that Crimson squadron was forming up to start rounding up stray fighters and ready an attack run on the CR90’s. Checking his IFF and RADAR he saw his flight forming up on the opposite end of the battle from Crimson squadron along with portions of flights one and two. Setting course to rendezvous with his compatriots Sovern began to cross the battle field. Things were slowing down as there were less droids to fight and many of the fighters were damaged. Checking his manifest he realized that he had better get in to the hanger and take advantage of the slowness of the battle.

After reporting to his flight leader he rounded a turn and made for the hanger of the Lobos. Passing through the shields he could feel the resistance against the fighter before he felt the light shutter as he passed through the artificial atmosphere and landed. As the technicians began to swarm over his fighter Sovern grabbed a wrench and proceeded to help the already over worked techs repair his assigned fighter.

Priority went to the empty missile rack locking out the arming device on the remaining missiles Sovern worked at loosening the quick disconnects. Once the quick disconnects were loosened he got under one end of the pods as a tech got under the other end. “Okay one…two…three” With that they lifted the missile rack up and off the locking hooks. Grabbing fresh munitions the techs loaded the racks to capacity. This put Sovern in to a dilemma leave the missiles off and have increased maneuverability or reload the missiles and have increased fire power. Looking out side at the battle the Lilith, Twilight squadron and the lancers was having with the CR90’s Sovern nodded and helped heft the loaded missile rack up on to his fighter.

Next were the damaged portions of his craft the scraping damage on his upper aileron required that the whole upper portion would need replacing rather than removing individual sections for expediency sake. Grabbing an Allen wrench he began dismantling the upper aileron while the replacement was being pulled out of storage. In no time the aileron was replaced and the damaged pylons repaired. Once refueled Sovern jumped in to his fighter, before he took off the techs asked why he assisted in the repairs and refueling. Sovern mealy smiled and said “Many hands make light work.” With that he took off the whole repair and refueling too less than ten minuets. Reentering the battle Sovern relaxed there was four Droids left twenty four left in Kaph squadron and twenty left in Crimson not bad if a Droid engaged he would drop it but right now he surveyed the battle between the Lilith Twilight and the lancers they seamed to be holding their own and he expected that Kaph and Crimson would be recalled shortly for new instructions.

Ok...

I think Sovern and Kane are feuding. I am here to say, put an end to it. We are a squadron, we have eachothers backs, we do not fight and bicker. Just break it up guys...

Then again, not my call...

"Oorah!" Bacredi screamed, pulling a nose dive. Litter from the TIE/D that had been following him fell towards Bacredi's position, Mel flew towards Bacredi as well. The two pilots of Kaph Squadron then moved into a double formation, "Thanks Mel, you want to give me a head count of the TIE/Ds?"

"Kaph 2, thats 1 left. It is heading towards the Tyat," Mel's deep voice filled Bacredi's COM. "Should we puruse?"

"Yes, all remaining Crimson and Kaph pilots. Form up, we are going in for an attack run!" Bacredi screamed into his COM, this was followed by three Kaph Pilots-Sovern, Kane, and Ratcet-to form up behind Mel and Bacredi.

"Kaph 2 this is Crimson 5, I know you don't give me orders. But I will listen to you on this one, all remaining Crimson Pilots form up, I repeat form up." Crimson 5, followed by the remaining members of Crimson chased the droid starfighter. Suddenly they were in range of the CR90s. Red laserfire caught both squadrons off balance, and the last droid starfighter flew towards the now vulnerable squadrons. "This is Crimson 5 take that thing out."

"Crimson 5 this is Crimson 8, I am on it!" Crimson 8's TIE flew towards the Droid Starfighter, two shots from the TIE's rear guns missed, while two shots from the TIE/D killed Crimson 8. "Ah!"

"Crimson 8, shit. Look out Kaph 2 you got one on your-!" Crimson 5 took a direct hit to his fighter from the Tyat-killing him. But he was right, there was a TIE/D on Bacredi's back.

Blue is right. You two need to grow up and start working together.

One squad of TIE/d Droid Star fighters was all that remained. Ph'rranix targeted the nearest one and accelerated to attack speed.
It took a few seconds for the Kaph XO to reel his victim into range of his blaster cannons. He pulled into .5 clicks of his the TIE/d and fired twice. The droid instinctivley rolled to the left to avoid the lasers moving at a blistering pace toward him. The droid dropped into somewhat of a variance between a corckscrew and high-G left hand turn, with Stormz following his every move. Ducking below the TIE he was chasing, Kaph 5 gained some ground on his adversary and began firing rampantly. A single shot skipped across the top of his cockpit. Another severed the arm connecting the left wing to the cockpit. As it spun out of control, Stormz let a few more shots go, one slamming into the main drive and sending the fighter into a ball of flames.

[Thrree morre to go ladies,] growled Ph'rranix in a somewhat exicted voice. [Jokerr pull onto my six and coverr me.]

"Roger Kaph 2-1," came the reply from Leading Crewman Jokerace. Together, they pulled up and toward the last full flight of the warlord's Droid Star fighters.

[Brreak forrmation Jokerr. I want you to cirrcle high and rright. I will attack them frrom the opposite dirrection. If this goes corrrrectly, the two fighterrs should rrun into eachotherr.]

They broke formation about 2 clicks away from their combatants. Stormz dropped for a few seconds before leveling out and rolling left a few times. Joker rose for three seconds then jerked to the right.

[You rready Kaph six?] asked Kaph 5.

"Ready when you are," the reply came instantaneously and filled with excitement. For this would be Jokerace's first kill of his career as one of the Vast Empire's Naval pilots.

Not a problem for me

“Mayday…..mayday this is Kaph nine I’ve been hit and I am caught in Yettons gravity well and my eject is not operable”

Chirped on the general channel checking the radar Sovern arced and accelerated towards Kaph nines’ position. Banking left and barrel rolling past debris Sovern once again started a dip in to Yettons atmosphere. On approach to Kaph nines’ position Sovern could see his flight leader’s fighter start to break up as the aileron snapped off. Reacting quickly Sovern rolled out of the way than accelerated through the atmosphere. Finally catching up with his flight leader Sovern talked to him. “Kaph nine can you divert any remaining power to your shields?”

“Yes…. Why?”

“Just to soften the impact”

“What imp ooof?!”

Before Kaph nine could finish his question Sovern pitched up ever so gently and connected with Kaph nines damaged fighter. Even connecting gentle sent shock waves of pain through Sovern’s body as he felt the impact through the ships body. Ignoring the pain Sovern raised the nose of his fighter up and guided his wing man in to level flight and than up and out of the planets atmosphere. Dropping power out of his weapons he redirected it to his engines and shields. Fighting gravity Sovern gradually pushed out of Yettons gravity well and towards the Lobos tractor beams.

Once cradled in the tractor beams Kaph nine opened a channel to Sovern. “Hey thanks man for the piggy back ride”

“No problem boss”

Once Kaph nine was safe and sound Sovern chose his next target it was now pretty much triple tag teams against one but some how Sovern fond one of the remaining droids. Banking as the droid past Sovern accelerated and opened fire the droid rolled right and banked out of the line of fire. Sovern followed suit banking hard staying on his right on the droids tail. Dropping back from the droid Sovern attempted to gain a missile lock, listing to the right slightly the indicator on his targeting screen changed from red to green. Arming a missile Sovern fired, the droid chaffed and flared than banked standard maneuver. Breaking and turning Sovern stayed on his six slaloming in conjunction with the droids attempts to stay out of missile lock. Finally Sovern got in close and fired the first blasts struck the droids ailerons and pod the second disintegrated it.

Ph'tranix dropped in behind Jokerace's attacker as another Droid fighter swooped in with all cannons blazing toward Ph'rranix's TIE.

[Jokerrt, make a High-G turn to the rright and go afterr that otherr bogey. I will firre as you begin the manueverr,] he said confidently.

"I hope you've got good aim," Kaph 6 responded nervously. "Initiating High-G turn." With that, Ph'rranix fired and watched as his target blew into thousands of fragments. Suddenly his missile warning sounded.

[Hey bud he's going forr a torrpedo lock.] Ph'rranix roared.

"Almost got him. Just don't let him fire or your going to be toast," Joker replied almost in a joking voice. Ph'rranix took a quick look behind him as the droid began firing again. The Kaph XO swerved left and right, rolled back and forth, and pitched up and down to keep from being turned into nothingness. Stormz accelerated as hard as he could and broke left, then right, then left once more before pulling into a barrel roll to the left. With his barrel roll half complete, Stormz yanked back on the joystick, causing his fighter to drop violently. As he did that manuever, the droid fired several more shots, narrowly missing the TIE/ln that the Kaph XO occupied.

[Kaph 6, wherre the hell arre you?] Ph'rranix roared ferociously.

"That little manuever you did was to strong for me. I had to back off."

[Well how much longerr arre you going to lollygag arround?]

"I am on my way. I will be there momentarily." The last word had just gotten out when the droid fired two more shots. Landing one on the top right panel of the right wing. The other simmered the metal on the hatch on the top of the TIE. Stormz was now stuck.

Kane heard the translation of the wookie through the comms. Even if it wasn’t translated, the growling accented by the warning alarm could only mean one thing, and that was Ph’rranix was about to get pooched.

Kane guided his craft towards the spectacle of the cat and mouse game, or more appropriately the wookie and droid game. He watched as Ph’rranix flew every which direction except straight, and he saw that the droid had no intentions of going down without taking one more life form with it.

“Kane to Ph’rranix, I’ve got you mate.”

Kane closed the gap and strafed the droid, lighting up the fighter’s shields from one end of the craft to the other. He watched as the droid broke from the pursuit to avoid fire, but had no intentions on leaving the nearly disabled wookie alone.

“Damnit, break off…” Kane growled at the droid, not wanting to fire again in case the droid dodged the lasers. Ph’rranix was still too close to get a clean shot, and the droid was as tenacious as they get. Kane decided to get a bit creative with the droid, to see how it reacted to unorthodox maneuvers. Creativity had worked so far, having saved Kane twice and Sovern once.

“Ph’rranix, whatever you do, do not turn starboard, otherwise we’re both hosed.”

Kane positioned his fighter along the starboard flank of the droid TIE, and closed the gap. He didn’t have to worry about being flanked by a hostile, since the radar showed only one left, and Kane had his sights set on it. Closer and closer he came, firing a few shots at the droid, still trying to get it to disengage. Kane really didn’t want to try this, because there were only two things that could happen: Success, or brutal failure.

With no missile guidance system, there was no hope of getting a lock on the droid. Besides that, the two TIEs in front of Kane were too close together to get a clean lock. Kane moved his fighter ever closer to the droid, almost able to see into the cockpit.

Sweat beaded on his brow as he flipped his comm switch to Ph’rranix’s TIE. “Alright mate. In five seconds, I want you to dive and break as hard as you can.”

The affirmative roar was all Kane needed as he counted down in his head. 5… 4… 3…

Kane pushed his fighter closer to the droid. The droid had to know it was in trouble, but without the missile lock, there would be no warnings in the cockpit. If Kane fired now, the explosion would rock his own craft, and more than likely disable Ph’rranix.

2… 1…

Kane saw the wookie dive, and at that moment he pushed his TIE as hard as he could forward, brushing up against the droid’s TIE. The maneuver wasn’t what Kane wanted to completely happen, but the jolt was enough to break the droid’s lock on the friendly.

With no shot now that the wookie was clear, the droid tried to flee from the pursuit. Kane was in a horrible firing position, so he slowed his craft while diverting his shields energy back to the guidance system. With less than half of what the system usually required, a lock was tentative at best.

Kane watched as the droid put empty space between them. He flew along just fast enough to keep that distance from becoming too great instantly and rendering the guidance system useless. The droid’s alarms were now sounding full tilt as Kane got his lock.

“See you in Hell!” Kane fired his final missile and broke off pursuit, climbing high above the craft in hopes of being outside the range of the concussion blast. Kane’s eyes were locked on the radar as he climbed, watching the red dot and the tiny white spec representing his missile come together, then the red light was gone.

Kane leveled his craft and looked below him, seeing the last of the explosion of the last droid TIE.

“Kaph 4 to all units. One down. Requesting orders.”

[Grreat flying today Kaph. ] Ph'rranix bellowed with a sense of proudness not usually heard wookiee.

[Set yourr courrse forr the Lobo. ] As the Kaph XO steered his craft toward his temporary home, he reminisced on the days battle. Facing four-to-one, Kaph accepted the challenge and walked away with little more than a few scratches.

==Aboard the Lobo==

"Sir, the CR90's are moving to intercept Kaph squadron." Said the comm officer to the captain. Standing to think for a moment, the captain stared out the viewport and into space contemplating his next move.

"Inform the Kaph squadron leaders to focus on the main drives of the CR90's. Once the engines are disabled, move to the bridge and begin firing on it," The captain ordered the comm officer. "We will disable the turbolasers."

==On board with Stormz==

A message came through to the Kaph leaders informing them of their new adversaries. A moment later, C-3's robotic voice came across the comlink informing Kaph squadron to be begin firing. upon the main drives, being extra careful to avoid the turbolaser fire directed at the task force.

"Kaph leader, this is Senior Cheif Petty Officer Krius. Doc finally gave me the okay to fly, requesting permission to join your squad," requested Krius.

"Request accepted," replied C-3PX2. "You will be known as Kaph 3-4 until further notice. Max Fagron is your Flight Leader."

"Roger, joining Flight 3," finished Krius.

The squadron changed direction to attack the CR90's. Flying in combat spread, Kaph squadron sped toward the assailants, dodging turbolaser fire to keep from being obliterated.

“Roger that” Sovern replied and formed up with his flight allowing Krius to take his position in the flight. Coordinating his flight computer with the other three members, he adjusted his shields to seventy five percent of maximum power to the forward shields leaving his rear shields at twenty five percent.  Nearing the closest CR90 he could feel the concussion waves of the turbo lasers and anti fighter blasters and he knew that a direct for either one would mean no more flying. Another turbo laser blast concussed above his fighter and he thought to himself Only an idiot would attack these in a fighter. Another anti-fighter blast spread across his shields as he pondered what he just thought than another occurred to him Only the king of idiots would attack these in a lone fighter. With that he chuckled and locked on the first target of the lead corvette.

Sovern’s flight computer alerted him when he had a firing solution switching to missiles he fired fore of theme in rapid succession. The missiles followed their guided course easily enough the first two that hit their energy dissipated across the shield. The missiles from the rest of the squadron dropped the shields protecting the main drives; just in time for his last two missiles hit the main drives in brilliant explosions, but the corvettes armor was strong and it would take more than just two little fighter missiles to do real damage to the corvettes drive systems but he did his part.

Pulling off Sovern followed his flight and squadron in another round against the lead corvette. Once again he targeted the main drives and fired his missiles in conjunction with his flight this time just two rounds, he had to save some for the other corvettes. As the flight broke off attack he was reminded or a mosquito trying to bite a rancor.

Kane heard the orders to engage the CR90s and he almost leaped from his cockpit with joy. This is what he was waiting for. Ripping the wings off a droid fighter was one thing. Going toe-to-toe with a ship that could easily send him to meet his maker was the challenge Kane was looking forward to.

“Kaph 4 to all units. Remember these birds are blind from behind. Come up on their 6 if possible and they can’t hit you. Lock on the engines and blast away.” Kane radioed to the other squad mates, falling in to formation. He licked his lips at the thought of being the reason why one of those 90s became nothing more than a debris ring around Yetton.

“Kane to Ph’rranix. How are you set on missiles? I’m out, so it’ll be all laser fire from me.”

Kane broke towards the CR90 farthest on the left. The word was out that the fighters were coming for the corvettes, and those cannons were trying to get a lock on the TIEs as they moved closer. Those turrets packed a punch, but the smaller, faster, more nimble TIEs were able to avoid most of the fire. A few shots looked like they hit home, but Kane didn’t hear anyone radioing for help. A few jukes brought Kane right where he wanted to be, and that was in the CR90’s blind spot.

Kane continued to fly away from the 90, wanting to get more than enough room. He was going to be making passes at the engines, and he wanted a nice wide circuit to make his maneuvers in. From about a click out he started back, flying slow so he could dial in the engines on his laser cannons. Once he had them positioned as needed, he picked up the pace and began to fire short three-round bursts. He didn’t care what engine he hit, so long as the ship was taking damage.

He laughed as he saw the turrets firing in frustration, the gunners hoping he’d make a mistake and fall into their angle of attack. Not bloody likely he thought. Kane had run up against CR90s in enough simulators to know those ships inside and out. He had about 20 degrees top to bottom of the engines before he’d reach a danger zone with those turrets, so he kept his craft level and his circuits tight. Once he pulled within a few hundred meters, he would bank and fly back out, turning towards the corvette once he was at about three thousand meters out.

Kane checked his cannons’ positioning and came around again, lighting up the shields and giving a shout when one of the eleven engines on the ass end of the big bird go dim. It had taken him about a dozen passes to get the shields down, firing almost continuous bursts from his starting point to the point to turn around. This was going to take awhile, but in his position of relative safety Kane knew he had the advantage. He was the itch in the middle of the back you couldn’t scratch, and he was the mosquito that buzzed in your quarters after dark. This was the role he was born to play, the fighter he always wanted to be.

Max felt his COMLink buzz in his ear before hearing Ph'rannix's voice.

"Heads up Max, new guy comin into your flight. Name is.......Krius. Know him?" Max grinned to himself. Never thought he'd hear that name again.

"Yeah I know him. Me and Krius- FRAK!" Max and Sovern swerved to avoid a huge piece of debris that had just broken off a CR90.

"Max? Max?! Max, come in, do you copy??" Max shifted his head in his helmet, to remove sweat that was trailing down from his hairline. God, he had almost forgotten the thrill of flying

"Yes, I'm here Ph'rann. just a piece of frakkin; debris or summit......No yeah, me and Krius  are old-school Kaph. As in before the reforms." There was a puase on the other end.

"Right, I'm hooking up your COMLinks. Stand by." There was a hiss of static as the lines crossed, but then they cleared, and Max said,

"Krius? You there? Didn't think I'd being seeing you again."

"Same here Max. Im en-route to your location."

"Right-O. Sovern?" said Max switching channels briefly. "Ne guy joining Flight Three, let him fall in behind you."

"Roger Sir." Krius fell in beind Sovern, assuming formation position and copying Max's every move.

"Good moves Krius. You still got it I see. What was that you useed to say? All Guts, no Shields? Back in the days when we had shields. Or at least any worh mentioning. Anyway, new orders in, attack CR90s. Guess that means us too. Right you pair, follow my lead."

Max dived in behind a CR90 with his Flight, weaving towards it and avoiding the defensive armerament being sent their way.

"Flight Three, divert power to torpedoes." Max did so himself, turnng down the given power to his shields and rasing that of his weapons. "Right, nearing target, preapare for enagement!" The flight hurtled towards the CR90, before Max yelled "FIRE!" , and three sets of torpedos were released at the engines of the frigate. They hit dead on, made the engine flash and sputter, but had little other effect. "Damn it. Right, another pass Flight Three." The Flight circled before back down on the tail of the craft. "Same as before, power to torpedoes." The Flight was careering through space at the CR90 for a second time, when Max gave the order, "Release,"  and let go of the missiles along with the other members of his flight. Once again, the bolts hit the engine of the frigate, once again with little effect.

"Right Flight Three, try it again."

Krius couldn’t help but smile, even in the midst of combat. He had been reunited with his squadron, he was flying again, and he was already back in action. This was no time for chit chat though seeing the situation Kaph was in. Krius quickly surveyed the situation, trying to find out why the missiles weren’t destroying the Corvettes engines. The only reasonable answer to this question was that they were redirecting the ships shields to the aft side of the Corvette. If this were the case, then Kaph would have to focus on the shield generators spread throughout the ships massive hull.

“Kaph 12 to Kaph 9, I STRONGLY suggest we take out the ships shields before attacking the engines. It’s useless attacking the engines with the CR90’s shields still up,” said Krius.

“Krius, we received orders to focus our firepower on the ships engines,” replied Max. “Then again, this is useless with the Corvette’s shields still up.”

Krius growled with frustration. “That doesn’t ma-“ Just as Krius had begun his protest, he quickly stopped. He now knew why the HC wanted Kaph to focus on the CR90’s engines. A brilliant array of blue and green streaked towards the Corvette, coming in from every which direction. Seconds later, the streaks of battery fire drove through the Corvettes shimmering shields and crashed into the hull beneath, leaving large gaping holes in the outer hull.

“I think that’s why they wanted us to focus on the ships engines,” chuckled Max over the flights comm. “Come on, let’s finish off the engines and help out flights one and two.”

Krius and the rest of flight three stayed close on Max’s tale, keeping in a tight formation as they turned into a wide starboard arc. Max’s TIE Fighter could be seen at the head of the formation, followed by Sovern on his aft port side, then BL in a similar position, and last but not least, Krius. Seconds later, the flight found themselves facing the aft side of the crippled CR90, waiting for the command to pounce on the helpless Capital Ship. Seconds ticked by, seeming to last an eternity for the trigger happy pilot. He still had a full load, and he wasn’t afraid to let part of it go.

“Alright let’s take this sucker out!” Shouted Max over the flights comm.

Krius armed his missiles and followed Max’s lead, firing two missiles at the Corvette’s engines. Krius watched with excitement as the missiles cruised towards their target, soaring into the ships sublight engines and detonating inside. Every missile hit dead on, turning the small Capital Ship into an incandescent ball of gas, forcing Krius to pull away at the last second for fear of getting caught up in the massive explosion. Krius definitely didn’t want to be a crew member inside of that ship, and felt rather bad for the scum that had died in the dazzling yet deadly explosion.

“Kaph 9 to Lobo, we have a Corvette down. Currently in route to aide flights one and two with their objectives,” Max said sternly.

“Roger that Kaph 9, we’re sending the coordinates of flights one and two as we speak. Good luck.”

"This is Twilight One, all Vast Empire Naval Pilots under the callsigns of Kaph, Twilight, or Crimson that are currently available. Form on me, move into Attack Pattern Delta, when we reach our targets move into Attack Pattern Vectra. I don't want to get hit by any crossfire when we split for Attack Pattern Vectra, so split into three groups and spread out!" Bacredi heard the message in his COM, and he was outside the battle. He moved closer to Twilight One's TIE Fighter, Bacredi's Ion Engines pushed him through deep space quicker than anything. And in no time whatsoever Bacredi was located behind Twilight One's TIE Fighter. Twilight two through twelve was there, they had taken no hits so far into the battle. All remaining Crimson members formed as well, along with Kaph 9-Max Fagron-the eight Crimson Pilots merged with the two Kaph Pilots. Causing two lines-one of twelve TIE Fighters, the other of 10 TIE Fighters-to move towards the enemy CR90s.

"Interceptor, this is Crimson Leader. We are going to need covering fire when we move into the enemy formation." Chief Warrant Officer Deilling's voice rang through Bacredi's, and every other Vast Empire Naval Pilot that was battling above Yetton V's moon COMs.

"... Crskk ... Copy that Crimson Leader, Corellian Corvette Awareness and Sting move in with us. Corellian Corvette Bastion cover us from afar." The Zabrak Captain of the Interceptor replied back to Crimson Leader's message. "We will escort you in."

"Copy, all Kaph, Twilight, and Crimson Pilots currently under Attack Pattern Delta break Pattern. Form up in Attack Pattern Delta 71 percent speed outside the Awareness, Sting, and Interceptor's formation. Once we all get a shot at the nearest CR90-" Crimson leader paused, they were still extremely far away from the enemy CR90s. "-the Tyat is what my console reads. Anyway when we all get a shot off at the Tyat I want all of you to move into Attack Pattern Vectra, move into four groups and then begin to reek hell."

Attack Pattern Delta would put all of the Vast Empire Naval Pilots in line for one or two shot, then when they put a shot out at the Tyat. Then when they moved into Attack Pattern Vectra they would move around in little groups, hitting key spots on the CR90s. Forming up with the three allied CR90s, Twilight, Crimson, and Kaph members moved into the two lines they had been earlier. Dropping their speed to 71 percent the ships flew along with the CR90s, and now they were closer to the enemy formation. Laserfire already streaked inside the Enemy Formation-Kaph Members-and Lancer Frigates were reaking hell.

"Attack Pattern Delta." Crimson Leader spoke into his COM, "Go now!" Twenty-two standard model TIE Fighters flew towards the enemy formation. Leaving the three CR90s alone, but they responded to this by barraging the enemy with red laserfire. "Moving in... brace!" The Tyat came into full view. And it began to fire, all the ships broke formation and then moved through the bullets-dodging every single one. "Crimson One firing." Crimson Leader Fired at the bridge, followed by Bacredi and Max. Shots rang everywhere and all the ships of Twilight and Crimson, along with the two members of Kaph had fired. The Tyat revolved its rear turret as Bacredi moved under the belly of the ship. Letting two shots ring Bacredi hit the turret twice, but the Turret also swiveled and fired to. Missing Bacredi, the fighter on his back-Crimson 12-was hit. Debris flew everywhere, and Bacredi moved along like nothing had happened. Twilight 2 and 3 swooped forward towards the under-turret and fired, sparks began to move around as the pair of Twilight Pilots dodged all of the Tyat's shots. Fire began to broil on the hull of the Tyat and more shots streaked onto her hull.

Kane was on his circuit back away from the CR90’s engines when his datapad chirped with an urgent message.

Crewman Kane Ahriman: You are to report to the mSSD Atrus immediately for reassignment. This is non-negotiable. Your replacements in Kaph Squadron have been deployed already. Dock aboard the Lobos and meet the shuttle. Signed: Jegora Fal

Kane blinked at the message and thumbed his comm to C-3PX2.

“Kane to Squadron Commander. I’ve received an urgent order from one Jegora Fal. I am to report to the Lobos for reassignment.”

The other end of the line was silent for a long time. Kane was about to retransmit when there was a slight crackle and C-3s droid voice broke over the comm in reply.

“Acknowledged. Congratulations on your reassignment Crewman Kane. It has been a pleasure serving with you. C-3PX2 out.”

Kane blinked at the speaker for the comm. From what he had gathered in the past few hours out here on active duty with Kaph Squadron, the droid commander would have elaborated a bit more. Kane could only imagine that this wasn’t something that would end well. Kane thumbed the comm once more, opening a channel to all of Kaph.

“Kane to Kaph Squadron. I hate to leave in the middle of the party, however I just received an urgent message from Second Lieutenant Jegora Fal regarding a reassignment. It has been an honor to serve with you all.”

Kane then turned the comm to Ph’rannix’s private channel.

“Ph’rranix, I’ve got to cut this short. I’m turning back towards the Lobos now. Best of luck to you out here with these droids and their handlers. Seems like there’s something brewing and I’m needed. Keep in touch.”

There was a growl on the reply back, and Kane understood what it meant before the translation even happened. Good luck and keep your ass covered was the reply. Kane simply nodded in his TIE and sped off towards the Lobos as he saw one of the corvettes get lit up by a bombardment, then a call over the comm for all units to form up for another attack.

Kane wanted to stay and help burn the 90’s down, but he couldn’t disobey a direct order from a high ranking member of the Navy just for personal glory.

He touched down upon the Lobos and turned back towards the battlefield, taking a deep breath before meeting the shuttle pilot and beginning life anew.

Bacredi imagined that inside the four Corellian Corvettes that were orbiting Yetton V that in the interior havoc reeked through the gleaming hallways that were probably once used for commercial purposes. He imagined that as Bacredi swooped down for another pass that the turrets on the Corvette would fire in fear, and the inside of the Corellian Corvette would shake as two blasts would hit the hull. Bacredi was dead right. Twilight 2 and 6 followed Bacredi in for another pass, the TIE Solar Panel wings gleamed in the moonlight and then the three black TIE Fighters let out two shots. Green bursts from the mounted turrets on all three of the standard issue TIE Fighters. The bottom turret on the Tyat then let out a squeak, and it then exploded into a million pieces. Blast Doors moved and then covered up the spot the turret had been, making sure vacuum didn't enter the ship.

The Interceptor gently eased into the battle, covering herself with laserfire from the six mounted turrets and fire support from the Vast Empire Naval Squadrons. Bastion, another Corellian Corvette moved in a constant circle around the battlefield. Streaks of laserfire gleamed from the Bastion's turrets, every time they lined up a perfect shot they took it. Exiting the pass the three TIE Fighters-Bacredi, and two pilots from Twilight-took a sharp left. The Interceptor had now positioned itself in-between two of the enemy CR90s, one of them was the Tyat, and the three pilots dodged the blasts from the Interceptor as they streaked past them and impacted onto the Tyat.

"All Pilots, this is the Interceptor. We are having some trouble with the Tyat's top turret, take em' out boys." The Interceptor's COM Officer spoke to the three squadrons that were still in the fold. Replies from Kaph, Twilight, and Crimson Leaders marked the spot were Bacredi broke off from Crimson 2 and 6. He pushed his Ion Engines up to fire twice at the Tyat's turret. But a few Crimson pilots had already beat him to the turret, and their deaths. Crimson 9 took a direct hit, splattering debris over a small section of space. "C'mon boys!" The Interceptor was sandwiched between two enemy CR90s, a daring move came next. The Interceptor pushed back, and then moved upwards. The engines scraping along the Tyat's hull, this lined them up for a perfect shot. Numerous shots rang and the Tyat's top turret was no more.

A brilliant blue-white ball of flames emitted from the main drives as Kaph Squadron's missiles impacted on the Tyat, blowing the drive system to smithereens in just a few short seconds.

[Engines arre down squad. Move to the brridge.] The Kaph XO roared in excitement. There was nothing more thrilling to the Wookiee than to destroy a capitol ship full of rebellious people.

Flight Two circled the now helpless CR90. While Flights One and Three returned to the Lobo for more missiles, Stormz' flight could remain in battle, decimating the two remaining CR90's. Half way to the third CR90, Stormz watched as a complete flight from Crimson Squadron was destroyed by the Corvette's turbolasers.

[Look sharrp, Those turrbolaserrs arren't something you want to tango with,] warned Kaph 5. An instant later, Twilights 2nd Flight took casualties, a turbo laser skimmed across a wing of Crimson 2 causing him to spin wildly into Crimson 4. Both were incinerated upon impact.

Bacredi watched as the enemy formation was tightened, and laserfire began to batter them even harder. All ships part of Taskforce: Iron Sweep pushed their engines to full power, blue and red ion engines pushed towards the Lobo and the Serenity. The Interceptor and Sting began to pull themselves out of the now enemy formation in fear of being trapped. A few members of Crimson and Twilight Squadron accompanied them, it was four versus two.

"... Crskk ... Crskk ... Crskk ..." That was the sound Bacredi heard through his COM, Bacredi checked his COM and saw that the static was coming from the Lobo. "... Crskk ... Outpost Viverro, this is the Lobo. We are in direct need of starfighter support, we are losing more men by the minute! Please send out your TIE Interceptor squadron immediately!"

"Dreadnought Lobo this is Vast Empire Listening Outpost Viverro, we are sending out our TIE Interceptor squadron. They will be in the battle soon!" Bacredi guided his fighter along with the other members of Kaph and Twilight Squadrons towards the enemy formation, crossfire grazed the TIEs as they crossed the gap that was located in-between the Enemy, and the Vast Empire. The retreating CR90s Interceptor and Sting were located in the middle of this gap, they were attempting to retreat to the Lobo and the Taskforce Formation. Flights 1 and 3 had to re-stock on missiles, and they were coming back from the Lobo to aid Flight 2.

"Attack Pattern Delta!" C-3PX2's droid voice rang through Bacredi's COM. Bacredi's TIE Fighter was located directly behind his, and the Senior Crewman flew in the same path as C-3PX2. A grin came onto Bacredi's face as the enemy formation came closer, red blasts were visible along the Battlefield, and they disappeared a second later.

"Go now!" Bacredi responded to his wingmate, the Tyat's hammerhead-shaped bridge was right in Bacredi's sights. Two shots from C-3PX2 hit the bridge, and C-3PX2 then swerved right. Bacredi shot twice as well, the turrets on the CR90 didn't know what target to focus on as Bacredi swerved left. Now Saadia shot twice, he then aimed his fighter upwards and flew up. Max Fagron's flight then shot, Max went first and swirved in another direction. Then Sovern and Krius. The turrets were confused and were moving in different directions-Kaph had gotten them. Bacredi moved his fighter over another CR90, then he swerved his fighter down to the bottom of another CR90. Taking shots both those times Bacredi turned around and noticed that a TIE Interceptor squadron had came into the battle, and Bacredi's Console picked them up as Aggressor Squadron. Perfect, Bacredi thought. They needed quicker ships.

"Aggressor Squadron, good to see you here!" Crimson Leader said, his male voice was filled with delight, just a second later he screamed in pain. "AH!" Crimson Leader blew out of space, debris from his fighter littered a small space above the Tyat. Soon enough he would be honored with victory.

"Eh... Glad to be in the party to boys. Aggressor Squadron form up, lets hit the Tyat, hit em' hard!" Aggressor Leader's Corellian Accent filled all the COMs, and 12 TIE Interceptors glided into the battle. They went strait for the Tyat's last remaining turret, the Tyat's turret couldn't hit such a fast moving target. "Watch yourself Aggressor 3."

"Pressure Steady..." Bacredi muttered to himself, flying over the Tyat's bridge and letting loose a missile. The missile impacted on the bridge, now flames began to erupt on the hull-the Tyat would soon be finished. Now the Awareness and Bastion, the two CR90s that hadn't been retreating joined the battle from the back. The Bastion pushed down and into the enemy formation, streaks of red laserfire came from its turrets as the Tyat was butchered into space dust. Aggressor Squadron then went strait for the Bridge, and now they were done. Debris scattered through Space as the Tyat exploded into a million pieces, and escape pods left the Tyat.

"Good job Squadrons!" The Lobo's Captain spoke through his COM, "Escape pods are jumping from the Tyat, pick them up!" Bacredi aimed his TIE fighter down towards the six escape pods that were leaving the now destroyed CR90. One of them was moving slower than most, Bacredi found it as his first victim. Firing twice they streaked the escape pod and sent it haywire, sent it haywire straight into the Awareness' turret's targeting range. The Escape Pod flew into separate pieces, and bodies began to flush out. Bacredi then went to check for survivors, there was none.

"Gah!" Twilight 4 spat into his COM, his TIE, or what was left of it, flew through space in a giant fireball. The fireball then changed course to a CR90, somehow Twilight 4 pulled that off. He sent it straight into an enemy CR90's engines. The TIE exploded, that explosion marked the peek of the battle. The two Lancer Frigates that the Vast Empire Taskforce: Iron Sweep had drifted towards the CR90s. Along with the rest of the formation, laserfire exchanged more feverishly than ever. Bacredi moved his fighter up in par with an enemy CR90, and fired twice. Soon enough one Lancer Frigate was on the enemy's tail. Close range laserfire began to heat up, and now the TIE Fighters and Interceptors were nothing but mere fodder.

Max Fagron and Bacredi were now lined up for a perfect shot at the enemy CR90 Adjacent, and they let loose hell. Once they reached the Adjacent they stopped firing and took their separate paths, making way for the Bastion to butter up the Adjacent. Aggressor Squadron came past Bacredi's fighter, firing faster than ever. Now a "... beep ... beep ... beep ... beep ..." sounded, and Bacredi watched as one of the CR90s shot at a TIE Interceptor, blasting it into oblivion.

== Bridge of the Warlord Dreadnaught Amaranth, Unknown System ==

“Report.” The Captain shouted.

“Sir, repairs are complete to the Amaranth and the rest of the Fleet. We have received a transmitted report from the CR90 Task Force stating half of the task force has been destroyed. They are requesting assistance.” The Executive officer reported.

The Captain stood, thinking, weighing his options, considering outcomes.

“Helm, spin up the Hyperspace drive, get the coordinates punched in to return to the Yetton System. Tactical, Target the ships attacking the CR90 Task Force first, once they are secure fire on their flag ship.”

He got ‘Affirmative’ nods from his officers, and he looked over to his Executive Officer.

“Go to Action Stations, prepare for immediate jump and combat.”

“Yes, Sir!” the Executive officer said as he picked up the Inter-Ship Comm. Device.

“Action Stations, Actions Stations; Set Condition One Through Out the Ship. Prepare for Immediate Hyperspace Jump, and combat following. This is not a Drill.”

“Comm. relay the orders to the Carrack Cruiser to follow, and the Lancers to wait exactly Ten Minutes on Delay.” The Captain said.

“Relayed, Sir.” The comm. officer replied.

He took a look around his bridge; the crew was confident in him, skilled in their duties, and enthusiastic about the outcome. It was time to jump back, and for him to show the Vast Empire who they were. They would show that they had superior fighting Skills, battle knowledge, and weaponry.

“Fleet Ready, Sir.” Comm. officer reported.

“Jump!” he shouted.

With that, they were gone. The Amaranth and a Carrack Cruiser to its side, both gone from the system in a flash of light.

== Yetton System ===
In a flash of light, two ships appeared only for a second; The Dreadnaught Amaranth and Carrack Cruiser Thesh. They were both Doomed. The Hyperspace coordinates were malformed, causing dire results; Results that would cost the lives of both ships.

The Amaranth pulled out of hyperspace, in an area it thought was safe, but they were wrong.

== Bridge of the Amaranth, Yetton System ==

“Report.” The Captain said.

“Jump Successful, we are in the Yetton System around …” the sensor officer began to say, as a loud explosion was heard.

“What the Hell?”

The Captain looked out the viewport, in shock with what he saw. It was horror for any fleet commander to see.

“Sir! The Thresh Just collided with the Vast Empire Dreadnaught Serenity; they jumped in too close and drifted into it.”

“Sir!” the tactical officer yelled, “We are still drifting, towards their Flagship! Impact in Ten Seconds.”

“All Hands! Abandon Ship! Scuttle the ship, head for escape pods!” the captain yelled as the crew ran for the escape pods. They ran, but he stood there, staring at the main viewport. It was as if he was watching it happen, waiting for his end.

== VE Dreadnaught Lobo ==

“Sir! Incoming Collision!” the sensor officer yelled

“What? Evasive Action!” the Captain yelled back.

“Too Late!” the Executive Officer yelled, as the Amaranth collided with the Lobo.

Everything went dark, the crew was knocked to the deck. Loud Explosions could be heard through the ship upon the collision. The Lobo shook, and then calmed. Emergency Lights activated; The Crew began to come to.

“Report! What the Hell just hit us?”

“Sensors went down in collision; all we saw was a massive object. No Identity on it.” The sensor officer replied.

“Damage Report.” He then said.

“Sir, all decks report Critical Damage. The Lobo has been crippled.” The Executive officer said.

“Life support?” the captain asked.

“Damaged, slowly failing.” The executive officer read off the preliminary report.

“Structural Integrity?”

“Low, and Failing; I recommend we evacuate the ship as soon as possible.”

“Comm., can I get a signal over to the Serenity?” he asked.

“A short one, maybe… it will half to be Half-Duplex, but I’ll connect it.” The comm. officer said, as he attempted to connect. “Connected, for now.”

“Serenity, Lobo. We have been crippled by a collision from a craft unknown. Take command as Flagship, and coordinate the battle. Over.” He said.

[[Lobo, Serenity. Affirmative, you have fires on all your decks. I recommend you evacuate your ship ASAP. Over.]] The Serenity Replied.

“Already being done, Good Hunting. Over.” He said.

[[Copy That.]] The Serenity said as the channel closed.

[[To all Vast Empire Ships, this is the Captain of the Dreadnaught Serenity. I am taking command of the Task Force as per orders.]]

“Oh my god…” Krius whispered to himself, his face suddenly pale. Just moments ago the VEN looked as if they were going to be victorious. They had the enemy fleet on their heels, and all it would take was one more devastating blow. All this quickly changed when Krius witnessed the destruction of four capital ships in less then a minute. Throughout Krius’ Navy career, he had witnessed many strange and horrible things, but this… This just topped the charts. The VEN fleet had been demolished, literally. Kaph squadrons backbone had just been broken, and from the looks of it, a whole lot more was going to break if they didn’t act fast.

“C-3, lets hit ‘em fast and hard. We can’t give them anytime to recover; it’s the only way we’ll get out of this alive,” Krius said over the comm., trying to sound as calm as he could.

“You’re right. Kaph Squadron, focus on the eyeballs first. Fly like you’ve never flown before, and don’t let up one bit,” said the Squadron Commander.

Krius steered his TIE away from the wreckage, pointing the nose of his TIE towards a group of red dots on his radar. Reaching up towards an overhead control panel, Krius pressed a few buttons and turned a green dial, bringing his ships shields to the front of the Fighter. He jammed the throttle forward, and watched anxiously as the red dots grew closer at an even faster rate. Krius reached towards the weapons controls. Like a concert pianist, his fingers flew over the various buttons and dials, beeps resonating from the ships computer as data flew across the screen. Krius had adjusted the linked cannon fire to focalize at 100 meters, perfect for an open spaced fight like this. He turned his attention back to the radar. It seemed the enemy fighters hadn’t noticed them yet. This was good; they had the element of surprise.

Turning to the targeting HUD display, Krius focused the aiming reticule on the nearest enemy fighter. He anxiously watched as the distance decreased second by second, his finger hovering over the button that would send the bastard to hell. The next few seconds would determine whether or not Kaph would get out of this alive. The next few seconds would put their title to the test.  Did they really deserve ‘The Captains Own?’

Krius slammed his finger down on the red button, answering the question with a burst of linked cannon fire. A millisecond later, the oblivious TIE Pilot was blown into oblivion, his ship ripped apart by the cannon fire. “I’ve got one eyeball down, repeat, one eyeball down,” Krius said, his voice sounding more serious then ever.

“I’ve got a kill! Make that two!” Shouted Blue Leader.

One by one Kaph reported their kills, counting up a total of nine kills on the first pass. One thing Krius knew for certain was that those bastards didn’t deserve to fly TIE’s. mediocre pilots didn’t deserve to fly such a beautiful space craft. They were all about to learn what real TIE Pilots fought like, and they were all about to learn who Kaph Squadron was.

This was going to be one hell of a fight.

On the Bridge of the Serenity

“Signal the Task Force to continue against the CR90s, and send out Rescue and Recovery Shuttles to recover the escape pods from the Lobo.” The captain of the serenity ordered.

“Yes Sir, dispatching Orders.” The communications officer replied as he did just that.

With the Dreadnaught Lobo destroyed, the Dreadnaught Serenity was now the Flag Ship of the Vast Empire Imperial Naval Task Force. The Captain of the Serenity was now pushed into a position he did not anticipate having, Task Force Commander. He was thrust into responsibility beyond anything he had ever had.

He looked up to the display screen, showing the Two Corvettes getting pummeled by fire from the task force, when suddenly it all changed.

There was a loud explosion that he could almost feel, then a second one louder than the first.

“What the hell was that?” he asked.

“I am not sure,” the sensor officer said, “It is not from the serenity. Wait … what is this…”

“Report.”

“Sir! There are three new contacts in the system. Lancer Frigates, they just destroyed our Task Force’s Lancer Frigates!”

“What?! How?”

“Unknown, they jumped in undetected and got both of them by surprise, they are moving towards their CR90s.”

“Contact our ships, tell them to disengage and form up around the Lobo’s remnants. We will wait and see what they do next.”

“Yes Sir, Relaying Orders.” The communication officer replied.

The three lancer frigates glided through space, fast but cautiously. The Task force pulled back to the Lobo, to cover the rescue and recovery operation. They did not want to risk any shots onto the escape pods or shuttles. The lancers just continued over towards the CR90 Corvettes belonging to the Warlord. Once they arrived, they did something unexpected.

“Sir, the are broadcasting a transmission.” The communication officer reported.

“Play it.” He ordered.

“Yes Sir.” The officer replied, as he played the transmission.

[[Forces of the Vast Empire Imperial Navy, you fought gallantly. You destroyed out Force in the System, and that is why we shall say thus. We are pulling out of the system, surrendering if you will; only without surrendering our ships. The battle is lost for us, our commanders are dead. We ask now that you allow us to retreat back to our territory. Farewell.]] The transmission said and then ended.

“The Hell we will!” the captain said.

“Sir?” the XO questioned.

“After what they just did to our lancers, they want us to allow them to go. Never!”

“What are your orders, Sir?”

“Call in the Fighters, and Finish the Recovery. When they jump, we will pursue them.”

“Yes Sir!” The XO replied boldly, and nodded to the communications officer; who nodded back.

The communications officer pressed a few buttons, made a few adjustments, and then began to transmit.

“All VEN Fighters, return to ships immediately. Disengage and Return to Base Ships.”

Kaph One

[[All VEN Fighters, Return to ships immediately. Disengage and Return to base ships.]] a simplex transmission said.

“You heard him Kaph, All pilots Form up.” Chief Warrant Officer said to his squadron over comm.

The squadron did just that, they began to form up, and once it was done were to head to the Dreadnaught Serenity to Land, Refuel, and await the next combat.

Off in the distance, they could begin to see ships jumping to hyperspace. First, One Lancer; then another, and then one more, followed by two CR90s. They were gone, to a location unknown.

[[Continued Orders]] a new transmission said, [[CR90 Corvettes, you are to guard Outpost Viverro from any additional attacks. Send a Comm. message to command if you detect any hostile forces approaching your location.]] The message said, and ended.

Kaph continued its course to the serenity, knowing that while the battle was close to ending. It was far from over.

Slinging his TIE toward the Serenity, Stormz accelerated to match his squad's pace. He didn't know where they were headed. All he knew was that C-3PX2 had an eerie feeling that whatever happened next wouldn't be good. That part was evident enough from the text message sent from the Squadron Commander to Stormz. The Wookiee glanced at the opposers one last time, the task force was still trying to lay waste to any enemy craft within reach of their targetting system. One-by-one the Warlord's Corvettes and Lancer Frigates disasppeared into hyperspace.

===Aboard the Serenity===

"Sir," the navigation officer said to the captain. "I have retrieved the enemy's destination from when they broadcast it to their fleet."

"Excellent, have the fleet prepare for hyperspace .Once Kaph Squadron has docked with us, We will jump immediately." Replied the captain. He seemed very upbeat for the amount of losses dealt to the Vast Empire during the previous battle.

A few minutes later and Kaph had docked with the Serenity.

"All clear sir," said the communications officer.

"Right," replied the captain. "Inform the four CR90's to remain in the Yetton system in defensice formation. They are to report back to us ever few hours."

"Sir," responded the comm officer while flipping a switch to open the channel. He informed each ship of their responsibility and promptly shut the channel down. He sat and waited for the captain to give the signal for hyperspace.

A moment later, the captain began giving the affirmative for launching into hyperspace. Everyone on the deck watched as the fleet shot into hyperspace. Finally it was their turn. The Serenity lurched forward, stars became starlines before everyones eyes as they rocketed forward.

===In the Hangar===

Stormz exitted his small TIE/ln Fighter. He was glad to be out of it. That blast to the top of his craft had welded him inside and he was going uncomfortable while sitting inside the normal sized spacecraft.

[Finally!] the Wookiee roared as he stretched out. C-3 chuckled as he walked upto his XO.

"Great job out there today," the droid complimented Ph'rranix. "We did well I think."

[Yeah, not a single Kaph memberr was lost to enemy firre.]

"That we did. I am going to my room, see you in a few hours." With that, the pair parted ways, each going to their respective rooms.
