Bacredi flew his fighter around the shuttle landing pad three extra times-three more than the other Kaph Squadron members had done. The Lambda-Class Shuttle Tyranny had its lights flaring, the blue ion engine the powered down.

"Kaph 2 to Kaph 5, do you read me; over?" Bacredi spoke into his COM.

[Kaph 2 this is Kaph 5, I rread you loud and clearr.] StOrMz's voice came through Bacredi's COM.

"Copy Kaph 5, I am going to do a patrol around the shuttle pad. Just inform Kaph 1 and Kaph 9 that I am going to be a little bit late." Bacredi said, swerving his fighter over the pad again. The Tyranny's retracting stairs moved down onto the pad. And the stormtroopers exited the shuttle, followed by the crew.

[Copy, see you laterr.] StOrMz told Bacredi, but Bacredi was already done. The crew of the Tyranny entered the base, and Bacred headed towards the hanger.

Escorting the shuttle. D+

Out of the front viewport of the TIE, Stormz kept a steady eye on Devil squad as they accelerated towards the planet. He sat in his cramped fighter hoping that any moment a squad of hostiles appeared on his radar. Seconds turned into minutes as his eyes followed the ion trail of Devil squads fighters reach further and further away. He shook his thoughts away after a moment to remain concentrated on his task at hand. Stormz was to assist C-3PX2 and escort the shuttle down to the surface.

[ Flight 2 whats yourr status?] Stormz growled into his comlink.

"Directly above you sir," was the response from Scaridian. The Wookie allowed a brief moment to go by before checking up on Joker.

[Jokerr how arre you doing?] Kaph 2-1 roared once more. Joker quickly gave him the all clear after that second, more direct question. [ Just make surre you answerr me the firrst time, ok?]

"Copy, sorry sir." Joker said, somewhat sorrowfully. Ph'rranix checked his radar once more before looking at the planet that was increasing in size rapidly. Before long, the Kaph XO could see the different shades of land scattered about on the planet. Tree tops became visible and birds were flying all around them.

Kaph squad zipped above the peaks of the trees as they made their way toward the landing pad. A brief conversation went on and Shuttle Viverro was approved to land on Platform "Cresh".

As the shuttle performed its landing procedure, Kaph kept a tight patrol around the landing platform. Soon, stormtroopers stepped out of the Viverro. Along with that visual, a message came across to the Kaph leaders.

'All clear. Thanks for the support. We will contact you when we are ready to depart.' Upon recieving the text, C-3 gave the order to procede to Hanger "Aurek".

“Get your TIE into a Rack, and meet up at the mess hall. I have a few announcements to make before we head back.” Warrant Officer Second Class C-3PX2, Squadron Commander of Kaph Squadron, said. Just as instruced everyone flawlessly entered their respective rack and hopped out of their TIE. Each Kaph flight member began the short journey toward the break room. However, Stormz made a quick detour to the restroom before arriving just in time to listen to his Squad Commander.

New pilot B Lasiter stared down at her hands as she waited in the dimly lit corner of the mess hall. She flexed her hand, looking at the back and then turning it over to run her fingers over the lines embedded in her palm. She wasn’t used to seeing all five fingers at the same time. She had worn gloves for the majority of her life, and for some reason her index and middle finger shared one section of the glove with her ring and pinky occupied the other. Her thumb was lucky enough to get a section all to itself; the sight of the entirety of her whole hand was so…Unusual.

B was sent here to wait here for the Kaph squadron to arrive. When she finished the academy they put her here instead of with her new squadron right away. Apparently they had already started a mission and it would be easier for them to just place her at this outpost instead of wait for them to return. She was not excited, nor was she nervous and she was content with waiting here. Waiting did not bother her much. She knew what to do, and she was trained for this. It was only her people skills that would affect the outcome of her mission. She did not know how to speak Basic.

The academy thought she was a joke. A girl who looked like she emerged from a cave for the first time, who couldn’t even speak basic, here to join the Vast Empire? She was a laughing stock for a while, though no one was physically laughing, she heard the whispering. She didn’t care though. She didn’t feel much of anything; even the feeling she had been told was sadness was gone. She never thought of her lack of feelings as a liability though, rather a great asset she held. The other pilots in training would lose themselves to rash emotions, often failing the test, whereas she held the stature and control of an experienced pilot. That was the other thing that left her superiors speechless. She had never flown in any sort of vehicle before. It didn’t matter much as they figured she had great natural talent. If B knew how to laugh, she would scoff at those who knew so little where as she had been trained to know everything.

B looked up from her position, scanning the mess hall once more. People were beginning to arrive, but none of whom looked like the one she was waiting for. Squadron Commander C-3PX2 was the one she needed to meet. Her commanding officers before had informed her of the squadrons situation. She had been too late to help them escort the shuttle to this outpost, but everything after she could assist with. She had also heard of the other squadron who was involved in this mission. She wouldn’t concern herself with them. It was not part of her mission.

She stood up and turned back to her table to pick up her communication device. Until she could finish teaching herself to speak, she would have to use this portable device that the Academy supplied for her for her “Birth defect”. They thought it would be pointless to try and teach her how to speak; it was a waste of time and resources. So that is what they had identified her inability to speak as; she would not correct them, nor would she agree. She simply did not say anything and they accepted that easily enough.

She typed in a short sentence into the device and hooked it onto her belt instead of allowing it to replay it back to her. She was not worried about any mistakes in her typing. She was not trained to allow an error affect the outcome of the equation.

She spotted him quickly, the only droid she had seen enter the mess hall yet. Before him the hired mercenary had entered, an interesting specimen as she did not figure that the Navy would need to hire outside help. She didn’t question the motives of hiring this man, but simply accepted them in either case. B Lasiter walked away from her spot in the back and approached the droid and gave him the standard salute. He did not seem to notice her right away but B was not the type of being to go unnoticed for long.

“At ease.” B relaxed and pulled out her voice from her belt.

“I am Senior Crewman B Lasiter. I am the new pilot joining your squadron, Sir.” Her “voice” sounded metallic and it was slow, not having the same flow that a normal person would, rather one that would come out of a computer.

”Alright Lasiter.” Surely he had heard of her by now. Maybe not by name, but at least knew she was coming. “I am about to make some announcements, if you will be seated with everyone else we will get started. B looked down to her voice box and pressed a button and out came a resounding, “Yes Sir”, preprogrammed into the system so she didn’t have to type it out every time.

B turned away from the Commander and looked at her choices of where to sit. She chose the closest seat nearest to her and sat down, placing herself next to a pilot whom she did not care to look at. He was persistent though and made an attempt to be friendly, holding out his hand for her to shake.

“Hello, I am Max Fagron, leader of Flight 3.” B stared at the hand not sure what to do with it. Instead she responded by highlighting the first part of her message for C3PX2 for it to replay to this Max man.

“I am Senior Crewman B Lasiter.” As an afterthought she added, “Hello.” She then turned away from the man and glanced at the Commander waiting for him to being the announcements he had talked about earlier. She was not very good at this socializing thing.

=== At the Mess Hall Briefing ===

Chief Warrant Officer C-3PX2 looked across the room at his squadron, noting the one member was missing. IC-1337-C, a local mercenary of the region, was not in the mess hall with the rest of the squadron. He wondered where the mercenary had gone, but then again did not concern himself with it

“Alright, let us start this off, it is going to be a very short briefing, but here it goes. We had a successful landing of the shuttle, and their mission is complete, they are preparing to return back to the Lobo, while we wait here for orders. Once we get our orders, we shall return to the Lobo, and begin the sweeps of the system for Warlord Forces.” He said and then Stopped.

A few members of the squadron looked at him, unsure why he stopped.

“See, I told you it would be a very short briefing. Now moving onto more recent news, we have a new addition to the squadron. Academy Graduate Senior Crewman B Lasiter, she will be joining Flight Three in the place of Kaph Three-Three.” He said, and then took another look around the room. “Also, we have one other New Addition to the Squadron, a Mercenary of the Local system, IC-1337. While he is not here right this moment, you will know him when you see him.” C-3PX2 continued

=== Meanwhile on the Landing Pad ===

“Shuttle Two-Two-Four-Niner-Esk, you are clear for departure. Radio before you launch.” The Landing Platform’s communication officer said over comm.

“Affirmative, we are loading up the last of the officers and supplies. Departure will be momentarily.” The shuttle’s Co-Pilot replied.

“Copy, Viverro Out.” The Communication Station said, closing the channel after.

After checking all the Cargo Manifests and Passenger Manifests, the Co-Pilot walked over and sealed the Hatches and Boarding Ramps. He then took his seat, and strapped himself in. They powered up; Main Power, Engines, Communication, Sensors, Shields, all were One Hundred over One Hundred. They were ready to leave, ready to return to the Lobo with the Survey Team.

They slowly lifted off the landing platform, and began to slowly accelerate off. In a short time, they were fully clear of the Landing Platform, and eventually clear of the entire complex; that was the time that they lowered their two wings down and began to go to flight speeds. The Shuttle continued to accelerate at a Seventy0Five Degree angle towards Space, and the Lobo. Once they reached the Atmosphere, things changed. They lowered their angle down to a Forty-Five degree angle and slowed down; they didn’t want to tear their shuttle up; little did they know that procedure like that would doom them to not return.

“Hrm… that is strange.” The co-pilot said.

“What is?” the pilot asked.

“All the comm. chatter … it just died, some of it mid sentence.”

“Maybe our equipment is malfunctioning, check it.”

The Co-Pilot ran a scan on the communications gear, “Everything is operational,” he pressed the ‘Transmit’ button on his Comlink device, “Hell, even my Comlink wont work.”

Then out of the glare of the sun, there was an eclipse on it. The Pilot squinted as he looked at it, and then asked his Co-Pilot “What the hell … …”

Then Four TIE/D star fighters bearing the Insignias of the Warlords forces came out of the glare, and accelerated towards the Lone Shuttle.

“Ah … Frak Me.” The Pilot Said, as the TIE/D fired off one Concussion Missile Each at the Shuttle. The missiles accelerated towards the shuttle slamming into the port side of the hull and detonating on impact; the shuttle burst into a fireball.

=== Meanwhile at Outpost Viverro’s Combat Information Center (CIC) ===

“Sir, I just lost communication pings from the Shuttle.” The communication officer said to the Deck Officer.

“Did you check our equipment, maybe it went bad?” the officer said.

“Everything is functioning, but we cant communicate with the shuttle.”

“Have the Lobo attempt to contact it.”

“Aye, Sir.” The communications officer said, as they attempted to contact the Lobo. “Sir, I cannot raise the Lobo on comm. either.”

“Why the … Sensors, Scan the Location of the Shuttle, and its status.”

“Aye.” The Sensor Officer said.

All this time, the Mercenary IC-1337-C was leaning against the wall, just watching.

“Sir, I cannot locate the shuttle. Its not there, all I am getting is what looks to be a debris field.” The sensor officer reported.

“Playback the Sensor Logs for the shuttle’s trip.” He said, and then looked at the screen.

The Video showed the sensors picking up the shuttle’s movement, and then four blips accelerating towards them; then the shuttle vanishes. At which time the Blips got ID Tags identifies, matching the Warlord’s ID.

The Deck officer pulled out a data pad, and began to quickly type something, and then when finished removed the data crystal. He then looked at Ratchet.

“You There Mercenary, come here.” He yelled, IC-1337-C walked over. “Take this to Chief Warrant Officer C-3PX2, these are his squadron’s launch orders. Make haste, we have no time to lose.”

“Yes Sir!” Ratchet said and then saluted, to which the officer return salute. He then took off down the corridor, heading for the mess hall.

****    ****    ***

Down the corridors from the command center of Outpost Viverro; IC-1337-C, or Ratchet as he was also known as, ran as fast as his body would allow him. He had to get to the Kaph Squadron Briefing in the mess hall; he had important information to get the Chief Warrant Officer C-3PX2. Running into the last corridor before the mess hall, he could see the base crew, crowding the door, awaiting entry to get afternoon meals.

“Make a Fraking Hole!” Ratchet yelled as he ran through the corridor. The crew, got silent and saw him coming, and began to do just as he wanted.

He ran into the mess hall, and towards Kaph Squadron’s briefing. He managed to get there, and slid a bit on the floor when he attempted to stop running.

“Ah, here he is now. Squadron this is IC-1337-C, a local Expert of the system and Mercenary.”

“Sir, I have Urgent Information for you!” Ratchet said.

“What is it Ratchet?”

“Shuttle Two-Two-Four-Niner-Esk has been destroyed!” Ratchet said, with stress in his voice.

“What… How?! Why did the CIC not Radio over here about this?!” he yelled.

“Warlords forces jumped in and took it out during transit, they also temporally jammed communication stations on the outpost, ” he went to hand C-3PX2 a data-crystal, “these are our launch orders.”

“Frak.” C-3PX2 said as he read the orders. “Squadron Attention!” he yelled, the pilots snapped to attention, “Report to Hanger Aurek, and to the TIE/Ln Fighter Racks. Prep and board your fighter. Launch on my command.” He said in a bold tone.

The squadron grabbed their equipment that they had with them, and headed out the door.

“Ratchet, Crewman Lasiter; hold up.” He said, just remembering something.

The two pilots walked over towards the Chief Warrant Officer, not knowing exactly what he had to say.

“The two of you lack star fighters, therefore Report to hanger Besh and Get a TIE/Ln out of that hangars racks, and then launch on my command.”

“Yes, Sir!” the two said in a unison of Humanoid and Robotic-voice.

C-3PX2 then headed off towards Hangar Aurek, while IC-1337 and Senior Crewman B Lasiter headed for Hangar Besh.

Bacredi's Commander-the newly promoted Chief Warrant Officer C-3PX2-his frame stood menacing, but yet a well respected symbol of leadership in the squadron. Bacredi knew that C-3PX2 was going to start speaking, he didn't have lips to move but it was hard to tell-but C-3PX2's joints moved a tad when he was about to talk.

“Alright, let us start this off, it is going to be a very short briefing, but here it goes. We had a successful landing of the shuttle, and their mission is complete, they are preparing to return back to the Lobo, while we wait here for orders. Once we get our orders, we shall return to the Lobo, and begin the sweeps of the system for Warlord Forces.” The Chief Warrant Officer stopped suddenly.

Bacredi exchanged a glance with StOrMz, then Bacredi and Scaridian made eye contact-Scaridian had the same look in his eyes and did StOrMz and Bacredi-a look of question. Mork probably had the same thought that Bacredi had: 'Why did he stop talking?'. Now Bacredi looked back at the droid that he was proud to call his leader.

“See, I told you it would be a very short briefing. Now moving onto more recent news, we have a new addition to the squadron. Academy Graduate Senior Crewman B Lasiter, she will be joining Flight Three in the place of Kaph Three-Three.” Bacredi already knew this, he had looked over her profile-one rank higher than him, fresh out of the academy but Rank did not cover experience. “Also, we have one other New Addition to the Squadron, a Mercenary of the Local system, IC-1337. While he is not here right this moment, you will know him when you see him.”

Bacredi's ear COM beeped, the twisty wire that moved down into his VesperFuntion88 Datapad vibrated as well. Bacredi excused himself from the meeting room, this was important. His leather holster that housed a S-5 heavy blaster pistol swayed with Bacredi, and he moved a few meters outside the briefing room.

Pulling out the grey VesperFuntion88 Datapad Bacredi hit the green button, a sway of the screen motioned into a transmission-the Tyranny was taking off.

Everything was moving slowly, the shuttle's engines went starboard-and then cleared the entire complex. Bacredi heard everything that was going on inside the ship, but then. They lost COM.

"Can you get me a connection into the bridge?!" Bacredi asked the COM officer on the line.

"Copy. Sir, I just lost communication pings from the Shuttle.” The COM Officer, Jaja said.

“Did you check our equipment, maybe it went bad?” The Base Officer-Unoa Jeha spoke through the COM, and into Bacredi's ear.

== Inside the Briefing ==

"So Mork, ready for-" Bacredi was cut off by a droid voice.

“Make a Fraking Hole!” It was Ratchet, the new member that wasn't here earlier. Bacredi shuddered to think what information he held in that datapad of his, shuddering thoughts. Bacredi suddenly realized he had his hand on his holster, he removed his clammy hand from the holster and to his side.

Bacredi already knew the orders, Hanger Aurek-ASAP.

B turned away from the Commander and didn’t wait for the mercenary to say anything, but began running towards Hanger Besh. In all the time she had here on the outpost, she used most of it memorizing the layout of the building, including the whereabouts of the hangers. She wouldn’t allow herself to rely on others for this kind of information. It was a good  move on her part.

She listened to the sound of her feet slapping the tiled floor as she ran, and heard a second set of feet join in her rhythm. The mercenary was keeping close to her, as their destination was the same.

“Do you know where Hanger Besh is?” The mercenary sounded from behind her. She simply nodded, not bothering to use her device to say “yes.” She used motions whenever the situation allowed; it was much easier than typing out her response. Conversations were cut in half when she could point or nod and shake her head. She raised her hand and with a limp finger pointed to the end of the hall and to the left. The mercenary didn’t reply.

Though she wasn’t surprised, she hadn’t expected to head out this early. She had been within range of the actual squadron for about 6.5 to 7.8 minutes. It hadn’t been long. Nevertheless, it was time for her to fly. She had been trained for this, and she was not nervous and other than the physical exertion her body was going through, her heart rate was normal. B Lasiter quickly reviewed her vitals equaling out the effects of running, as small as those details were, making sure they were in order. Nervousness was characterized as increased heart rate and enhanced perspiration. No, she was not nervous; B was positive.

B Lasiter and Ratchet reached the hanger and quickly went to their positions by the racks, both stationary next to the vehicle they would be flying. Before they could climb into their Fighters, an angry technician came over to them, a older looking man with graying black hair.

“What are you doing? You don’t have leave to take these two from the Hangar!” B was about to type out her explanation on her voice, but Ratchet stepped into control of the situation.

“I am IC-1337-C, hired mercenary and this is my newly acquired squadron mate Senior Crewman B Lasiter.” B wasn’t sure how this man knew her name as he wasn’t there when she had formally introduced herself. The Commander had said ‘Crewman Lasiter’, but that did not give her first name. B watched as he pulled out a blaster and pointed it at the technician with a steady hand, aiming for the spot between his eyes. “You will let us take these machines from this rack, by command of C-3PX2, Commander of Kaph, the squadron that is protecting the Yetton V moon outpost shuttle.”

The technician only shrugged and backed away, not seeming to take much notice the gun ready to take his life, apparently only seeing an empty threat. Either way it worked. B had already climbed into her TIE/Ln while Ratchet was dealing with the pesky man.

She went through the start-up procedure and before she slipped on her helmet she took out her Voice and pulled an extendable wire from the side, attached to the end was a suction cup. She took off her glove and attached it to the upper side of her wrist. She then drew out a second wire and attached it to the comm. link located on her helmet and then hooked her voice back onto her belt, securing the wires that were sprouting from it. She would not be able to type out any responses manually, but this little suction cup device monitored her finger motions and would be able to read her actions and speak it into her mic for her. She didn’t plan on speaking much during flight, only the typical procedure of checking in and any little comments she would make during this mission.

She got all set up and sat back waiting for further instructions from her Commander, assured that they would be arriving very soon. She would soon begin her first mission in real flight, and calculations were running through her head. She didn’t have many details where the enemy concerned, so those factors would remain easily changeable variables in her equations. She would soon be able to finish her calculations, but her Commander would have to give them leave to launch first.

==Mess Room==

C-3PX2 gave the order and all the members of Kaph squadron rose from their chairs and raced towards Hanger Aurek. Along side Kaph's XO was Scaridian Mork and Jokerace. Urbaan, who was seated further from the door, was hot on their heels.

[Ok guys, let's do it like we practiced. Don't do anything herroic. Just listen to C-3 and I and we will all make it back safely.] Ph'rranix growled to his flight as Urbaan joined them to the left of his flight leader.

"Yes sir," each of them replied in perfect unison. Each walked step for step with eachother, aside from Ph'rranix, who was a good foot taller than the others.

==Hanger Aurek==

Kaph passed through the last of the blast doors on their way to the squad's first mission since being reformed. As Stormz looked up at his specially modified TIE/Ln Fighter. His overly large hieght and weight required for a larger cockpit than standard fighters. He continued staring at the magnificent vessel as he climbed up and into the state-of-the-art fighter. A tingling sensation spread through him like wildfire as he strapped in and prepared the TIE for the launch sequence.

The anticipation within the giant Wookie began to become all but intolerable as he patiently waited to lead Flight Two of Kaph squadron out of the hanger and into their first battle. As he sat their in his large, yet still cramped cockpit, Stormz tried to think back to his first mission for the Vast Empire. Many things had gone on since that time, some good some bad. None of that mattered now though, he had three men to protect along with himself. The task at hand required every last bit of concentration Ph'rranix had in him.

"Ok boys. Here we go. Stay safe out there! Flight One launch in T-10 seconds...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...Flight One you are cleared for departure," said C-3PX2, Squadron Commander for Kaph. Stormz watched as the first four fighters left the Hanger with perfect formation. A few moments later and C-3 gave Flight Two, Stormz flight, permission to depart. The Kaph XO disengaged hisself from the racks and accelerated out of Hanger Aurek with his three flight members directly behind.

Flight Two's TIE's safely and precisely exitted the hanger and immediatly pulled into formation just below and to the right of Flight One. A minute later and Flight Three, led by Max Fagron, reinforced the left-hand side of the formation.

== Enroute to the Lobo ==

Three quarters of a mile into the air and a warning light began flashing on Ph'rranix's display. From out of nowhere, a bogey had attained a missile lock on his craft, and fired the torpedo.

[All crraft brreak forrmation! A missile is headed at me,] the Kaph XO roared into his comm. Instantly, all 10 of the other craft broke away from him. He watched his rear screen for the fire ball. As it came within a few hundred meters, Stormz tucked the nose of his TIE with blistering force, and headed toward a small patch of trees below. His small, inanimate nemisis followed suit, dropping just a few feet after he did. As Ph'rranix watched the missile over shoot where the Wookie had dropped, he realized he could cause it to hit a tree instead of him on the surface. He watched his altimeter drop like a rock. Five thousand feet...four thousand...two thousand...five hundred...on hundred. Hitting the one hundred foot mark, which is only inches from the tree line, Stormz yanked his stick back and to the left, causing him to do a move that would make a normal being black out from th G-forces. He cleared the trees and watched the rear screen as the missile slammed into a tree and obliterated everything in its path.

Bacredi looked back on the events that he had witnessed today. Bacredi had woken up early today, Kaph Squadron had been called for a meeting aboard the Lobo. Bacredi had slipped himself some breakfast, and a sip of alcohol. He had offered Scar a glass of coffee, he denied. Then Kaph escorted the Tyranny to this outpost. Then a meeting had been put up, and Bacredi had moved to the meeting room. Devil Squadron was probably leaving the Lobo now, probably moving to meet up with Kaph.

But then the Tyranny was shot down. And all that anyone found was a rock field, of the remains of the shuttle.

Bacredi was standing in a Kaph huddle, it was located in the gleaming white hanger that housed Bacredi's Fighter, along with all of Kaphs. All members of flight one-C-3PX2, Ratchet by a hologram, Rocket, and Bacredi were all in a huddle. StOrMz had his group in a huddle as well, same with Max Fagron's Flight.

"Leading Crewman Bacredi, Senior Crewman Rocketman, and Ratchet. We are here today on Operation: Iron Sweep, just like Viper Squadron and Operation: Typhus, and Nazgul Squadron and Operation: Firestorm. The Lambda-Class Shuttle Tyranny has been found in an Asteroid Field just near Outpost Viverro. The Imperial Warlord has an ominous presence in this system, we need to put an end to that!" C-3PX2 had a glint on his hull-or whatever you called his 'skin'-it put anger in Bacredi's heart that the Yetton System had a Warlord in it-one that would soon be dead for what he-or she-had done to the Tyranny. The fact that they had destroyed it was enough to set Bacredi over the edge, they probably sported the usual warlord class fighter-TIE Defenders-this was going to be a challenge for Kaph as well.

The hologram of Ratchet flickered. "Yes sir, my fighter is ready. Kaph 3, out." Ratchet's hologram died, leaving a hole in the huddle.

"Move out." C-3 ordered the group, Rocket went left to his fighter, C-3 right, and Bacredi right. Two TIE Fighters were on the rack, and Bacredi got in from the top. Launching out of the hanger, C-3 was in front, Rocket in back. Two fighters-Ratchet and the other new recruit B Lasiter flew from another direction, they met up with Kaph 2 and 4, Kaph 3 moved onto C-3's side.

"Ratchet, switch positions, copy?" Bacredi said, because Ratchet was on his wingmates tail-and same with Bacredi. The two pilots of Kaph switched positions, now all three flights were together. The unified, strong, and faithful Kaph. Bacredi thought: We have great faith in eachother. It is called stupidity. This was the motto that Bacredi had come to love.

Bacredi had joined Kaph five weeks ago, it was the best decision-or luck-that Naval Trainers had done. Suddenly, a "Kaph Squadron, this is Devil Squadron. Coming to your position."

"Copy that Devil Leader, this is Kaph Leader. Keep your eyes peeled for enemy fighter craft. Twilight Squadron is heading over to the 22249er-Esk destruction site, and Crimson Squadron is patrolling the ships." C-3PX2's voice rang through Bacredi's COM.

== Just after entering space ==

"Kaph Squadron form up," C-3 ordered his squad. They quickly fell in perfect harmony to each other, flying in three groups of four. Flight One was in the middle, Flight Two was on the right flank, and Flight Three covered the left side. They continued flying in formation towards the location where the Lobo and its small fleet were supposedly waiting for Kaph. As they slowly crept toward it, Stormz saw no signs of any craft in that vector, however, the closer he got to the coordinates, the more visible the fleet became.

Kaph 5's radar blipped. He looked down, and to his suprise the dots were red not green. The radar blipped again with the same red dots but now closer. Jerking his head up, Stormz squinted to find some markings to show whether these were infact hostiles. It took one green flash coming towards the squad for his question to be answered. [Brreak forrmation!] the Wookie roared frantically. Kaph instantly scatter in every direction. Stormz broke left as hard as he could but a second to late. The laser shot slammed into the bottom of Ph'rranix TIE causing the radar to go haywire for a moment then short out. [Damn! I lost my rradarr,] he growled angrily.

"Don't worry Kaph 5. We got your back." Jokerace called out.

Stormz looked at the fleet that had lured them into the trap. The Dreadnaught Amaranth looked to be the Flag ship. Two squads of TIE Interceptors came rushing out of it and charging the helpless squadron known as Kaph. Two more squads of TIE Interceptors launched from a Strike Cruiser along with a mixed squadron of TIE's and a squad of TIE Bombers. A Carrack Cruiser and Lancer Frigate were also part of this small but capable task force.

Suddenly, C-3PX2, Squadron Commander of Kaph, heard, "Kaph Squadron, this is the Dreadnaught Lobo. Turn to point four five, we will assist you momentarily," come out of his comlink. Relieved, he relayed the message to his squadron and required them to form up. The fleet had arrived, just in time, Kaph may be safe after all.

Two shots streaked off of the Lobo, the Interceptor a Blockade Runner Captained by a Zabrak was barraged by laser fire. The Warlord Forces had moved onto Kaph and the other squadrons. Suddenly the Interceptor turned into debris, and TIE Interceptors rushed past the place that the Interceptor had been. As three Escape Pods moved away from the Interceptor TIEs hunted them, and they were eventually taken down. The following forces of the Warlord moved in, close range with the Vast Empire Task Force, Twilight and Crimson Squadrons moved into the breach of the Warlord Forces.

"This is Twilight 12-AH!" Those were the last words spoken by one of the Twilight Members. Her remains would probably be swept up by some smuggler.

"Twilight Squadron, Crimson Squadron form up on the task force. Devil Squadron form with Kaph, Kaph 2 report!" C-3's droid voice rang through Bacredi's COM as he hit full speed. Now decreasing his speed a bit he looked at the attacking force.

"This is Twilight Leader, copy that." Jos Kal, Twilight Leader's voice rang through all of the Squadron's COMs.

"Kaph 2 to Task Force, we have 36 TIE/In Models, six TIE/Ln Models, and six TIE Bombers. 48 TIE Fighters versus 48 Various TIE Models." Bacredi spoke into his COM, replies from the Squadron Commanders the Lobo and her counterparts formed up.

The Five Defenders that were already inside the formation began to reek havoc. Heart beating, adrenaline rushing Bacredi shot twice. He saw the four laser streaks move in two pairs, none of them hit but they streaked a TIE Defender that was chasing Jokerace around.

"This is Kaph 6, I have a TIE Defender on my back." Jokerace's panicking voice went into Bacredi's ears.

"Copy that Kaph 6, this is Kaph 2." Bacredi formed on the tail of a TIE Defender, streaking past the trio of a TIE Defender, Bacredi, and Jokerace was StOrMz, he had a TIE Defender on his back as well.

A pair of TIE Interceptors darted infront of Stormz' view port. Instinctively, he reached for his radar but quickly remembered it was useless. Instead, the Wookie tracked his prey with his eyes, mentally envisioning the crosshairs and waiting for the moment to reign his lethal attack on the Warlord's helpless pilots. Jerking up and right on his stick, Ph'rranix brought his TIE directly behind his first victim. He waited for a microsecond before obliterating his opponent in a rage only a Wookie could attain. The now deceased pilot's wingman was only a few feet away from the explosion, allowing some of the ultra hot metal to graze his TIE's main enigine compartment and bringing him to his fiery doom as well.

[Two down, way too many to go.] Ph'rranix growled silently to himself. Kaph 5 regained his focus and called to his wingman, [You therre Jokerr?]

"Right here sir," the Leading Crewman replied enthusiastically.

[Alrright, drrop back in forrmation with me] growled the Kaph XO. Looking through his left viewport, Ph'rranix watched as Joker manuevered his TIE Fighter into position next to his. [Lock on to a tarrget and guide me to him.] A few moments later Joker began reading off coordinates, trying to get the flights next victim within range and visiblity. It took a handful more of moments to get the enemy in sight. [Light him up Jokerr] With his lasers cannon's locked onto Kaph 6's first victim, Joker sent an onslaught toward the TIE Interceptor flying directly ahead of him. Suddenly the TIE burst into flames before exploding into millions of tiny fragments.

== Onboard the Dreadnaught Lobo, On the Bridge ==

“Sir; the Warlord dreadnaught Amaranth is having hyper drive activity, it appears they may be putting in a solution to jump away.” The Sensor officer of the Lobo reported.

“Is this the entire fleet that was detected originally?” the Lobo Executive Officer asked.

“Negative Sir, Four CR90 Corvettes are not present.” The sensor officer replied.

The Captian looked out a window, directly at the battle. He stood there, staring out, as if he was trying to see exactly what was going on.

“Sir; the Amaranth is confirmed to be going to hyperspace, they are pulling out. Now we are picking up hyper drive activity from the Three Lancer Frigates and the Carrack Cruiser. Their entire fleet is pulling out.”

The Captain turned away from the window, and looked at the communications officer.

“Get me on the horn to all Combat craft and Vessels.” He said.

“You’re connected Sir.”

“All Craft, All Craft. Disable the hyper drive and sub light engines on the Warlord’s Carrack Cruiser.” He said to the Task force over comm.

== Kaph 1-1 ==

“All Craft, All Craft. Disable the hyper drive and sub light engines on the Warlord’s Carrack Cruiser.” A message over comm. said.

C-3PX2 watched as the fighters immediately disengaged in combat, and headed back to their ships.

“You heard him, Squadron Form up into flights and we shall head for the Carrack.” C-3PX2 said to the squadron. He then looked over the status of his squadron; four pilots were injured, and needed to leave the battle.

Just then, he received a comm. from Devil Squadron.

“Kaph Lead, this is Devil Lead.” Ensign Fox said over comm.

“Affirmative, what is it?” C-3PX2 asked.

“We took heavy losses; all but four of our pilots are gone. I am transferring them over to your squadron. I will escort your wounded pilots back to the Lobo.” Fox said.

“Confirmed, and thank you.” C-3PX2 replied.

“No Problem.” Fox said, as the channel was closed.

“Kalinx, Rocket, Mork, Urbaan; return to the Lobo, get healed up and your fighter repaired.” C-3PX2 ordered, to which he received ‘Affirmative’ pings, and saw then head off in his radar. “New Pilots, fill in the gaps in flights, and notify the flight leader that you are doing such. Lets Head out to that Carrack.” C-3PX2 finished, and then began to accelerate towards the Carrack.

Kaph Squadron began to close the gap between them and the Carrack, but they had run out of time. The Carrack Cruiser accelerated into hyperspace and escaped.

“Frak … … Squadron, pull back to the port of the Lobo, and await orders.” C-3PX2 said.

== Dreadnaught Lobo, Bridge ==

“Damnit.” The captain said.

“What now?” the executive officer said.

“Now we have to …” the captain began to say, as he was cut off.

“Sir, Incoming signals! Four CR90 Corvettes off our Starboard Aft.” The sensor officer reported.

The captain looked up at the radar.

“Scramble all Fighter Squadron except Crimson, have them go to the Serenity and wait. Have the Lilith and our two Lancers head over to the Hostile CR90s.” the captain said, as if he almost expected this.

“Aye Sir.” The XO said, as the orders were being tasked.

== Kaph 1-1 ==

“Kaph Lead, take your squadron to engage the CR90 Corvettes.” The communication officer said, relaying the order.

“We will not last against those things! They will tear us apart…” he said in response to the order.

“Support is on route to the area, Two Lancers and the Lilith.”

“Fine, Kaph Squadron deploying. … Wait, what the hell is that?” C-3PX2 said confused.

“What the hell is what?  The officer asked.

C-3PX2 looked at his radar, as it identified the unknown.

“Frak, we have Forty Five Tie Droid Star fighters inbound for the Lobo; Kaph redeploying to engage.”

“Affirmative, Twilight will stay behind and attack the CR90s. Crimson will join you in the fight. Good Hunting.” The communication officer said, and closed the channel.

“…Great.” C-3PX2 said to himself, and then opened up a squadron channel. “It is about the become a mess out here, Forty Five TIE Droid star fighters inbound, we will be attacking them. Watch for Crimson Squadron, do not hit friendly craft. That is all, head out!” C-3PX2 ordered.

Kaph Squadron then, again, changed its course back to the Lobo, and towards the Hostile TIE Droid Star Fighters that came towards them.

OOC:
Note: Change in hostile forces, all Hostile forces removed from the area. Four CR90 Corvettes have jumped in, followed by forty five TIE/D (droid) starfighters. Devil Squadron eliminated. All new additions to Kaph Squadron, up to the moment of this post, have been added into the story, and are welcome to post."

Upon hearing the order to engage the Tie Droid fighters Sovern gave a swift “Roger that” and switched his IFF transmitter to active. Looking on his radar he noted to him self “blue friends and red foes” and engaged the enemy. “Flight leader I’m engaging the enemy” followed by his wing man he banked in to the fray. Scanning the Tie Droids Sovern chose his intended target, pulling in to a belly snapping banking turn he accelerates easily lining up his target and firing easily destroying the target. Not letting his finger off the trigger he strafed a second droid fighter catching its ailerons the Tie Droid careens out of control. “To close for comfort” Sovern thought as he rolled past the debris.

Coughing the rattlers out of his stomach he rang in on the coms. “That’s two down” he said before talking to his wingman. “That was great lets set up for another enemy I’ll guide the next one to you”. Splitting off from his wing man Sovenr chose another target, another Droid unimaginative and lacking in abstract thought. Comeing at the Droid from its top Sovern steadily “pushed” it in to a trap being sprung by his wing man. “Great shot” Sovern spoke as he saw the flash of exploding droid from his view port.

“It is about the become a mess out here, Forty Five TIE Droid star fighters inbound, we will be attacking them. Watch for Crimson Squadron, do not hit friendly craft. That is all, head out!”

Kane sat in the cockpit of his TIE, waiting for the start up sequence to complete. He wasn’t supposed to fly on this mission, only to attend the briefings and see how Kaph ran their squad. That was until the announcement from C-3PX2, directing new pilots to enter the fray. Kane felt the lurch as the TIE came under it’s own control, and with an open communication to C-3 and Ph’rranix he informed his commanding officer and flight leader of his intentions.

“This is Kane. Roger on joining the fight.” He closed the communication and pointed the craft towards the battle, easily seen without sensors due to the random bursts of light as spacecraft both friendly and hostile exploded.

Kane dialed in the sector and dove down below the plane of battle, wanting to surprise a few hostiles by blowing out the belly of their TIEs. When he heard he was going against droids he almost smiled, knowing that they lacked ingenuity. He decided he was going to play shadow games with some of the hostiles, looking for and spotting one on his radar all by its lonesome. Bait, he thought, let’s see if they know how to use it. He banked a wide turn, coming up behind and underneath the droid TIE.

He lined up the hostile TIE within his targeting system, and when he had a lock he fired off a single missile. As expected, the droid TIE banked sharply to avoid what was believed to be a from-behind attack. Kane smiled as the banking TIE was introduced to the concussion missile, sending the craft spinning wide of the droid wingman alerted to the situation. Kane accelerated his spacecraft, quickly gaining on the disoriented pilot and easily finishing the job that the missile started. A few rapid bursts from his cannons was all it took, and he was rewarded with his first official kill, and a decent light show as well as the craft exploded to his starboard side.

The explosion also attracted the droid’s wingman, allowing it to drop into position behind Kane. Greeted with warning tones from his console, Kane flipped his comm switch and gave an update.

“Flight Leader, this is Kane. One down, another on my 6” was radioed off before Kane took evasive maneuvers, pitching into a sharp break turn and banking, trying to come up from underneath the hostile again. Although not overly creative, the droid in pursuit was quick to learn. The droid banked in the opposite direction and rose, then inverted his craft to attempt a head-on pass. Kane quickly dialed his port cannon wide, sending a few shots in the anticipated direction the hostile TIE was headed. Luck was with him at that moment, as the droid revised the attack plan and switched paths once again, kicking into a dive to avoid more laser fire.

Kane simply smirked and banked his craft, firing a few more shots at the droid to give it something to compute before heading to join the bulk of the battle. The droids were not thinking pilots, but there were still more than he liked out there. He decided to use the same tactic that brought him to the dance as he dove down, letting the bulk of the battle rise above his head.

He quickly rethought his plan as bright flashes erupted near him, a droid’s cannon fire sparking off debris nearby. “Wookie booger!” Kane roared before pulling into a climb, inverting his craft into a textbook Immelman to shake the bogie and to regain his bearings. He saw a friendly at 2 o’clock, so he decided to let him have some fun.

“Ph’rranix, this is Kane. I’m coming up on your 5 o’clock with one bogie trailing. I’m going to bank to my port side at 200 meters behind you and let him follow me. He’s all yours when you have the shot, over.”

True to his word, Kane turned his aircraft in a wide, almost lazy arc to his port side. The droid, intent on the kill, followed suit with the anticipated break turn. Kane saw a brief flash reflected on the walls of his cockpit and heard the wookie growl over his intercom, which he interpreted as a good thing.

“Thanks mate” was the reply before engaging his third droid of the night, hoping to take some pressure off the rest of the squad.

As the droids started thinning Sovern checked his H.U.D and consumables list and checked it off in his head. Once completing his mental inventory he selected his next target voicing over the comms’ “Sovern, mark one” before he fired his missile in a moment the missile reached its intended target. “Like fish in a barrel” Sovern thought to himself before rolling and announcing “’Nother one down” over the comms’. Hearing the warning buzzer alerting him of a bandit on his six Sovern accelerated to full speed rolling out of the blaster and diving closely followed by his pursuer, leveling out he checked his RADAR.

Noticing that the droid was still on his tail Sovern thought swiftly his hands and feet moving in tandem banking hard left he kept the accelerator pushed to maximum, putting a more extreme roll in the banking maneuver, he used his feet to work the pitch of his ship pitching the nose of his fighter upward which relatively speaking was left. Inertial forces took hold and his whole fighter snapped around in to the opposite direction so hard that Sovern felt like his stomach was flying in to his thought, accelerating down he continued to bank in a Lag Pursuit maneuver and line up the droid that was pursuing him in his sites. The droid initiated a low speed yo-yo to try and get behind his opponent, seeing this Sovern countered with a High G barrel roll. The cat and mouse games continued much to Soverns amusement for another second or two before he finally dispatched the droid and returned his attention to the rest of the battle.

As the enemy fighter numbers dwindled stray fighters began to pop up on the edge of the battle, while not a big threat those fighters could be problematic if not taken care of. Setting course toward the edge of battle he began rounding up strays herding them in to the battle where they began to cluster with their compatriots giving them all less maneuverability allowing his squadron mates to pick them off easyer. The battle was looking from a fighter VS fighter point of view how ever the incoming cursers Twilight squadron did concern him but that would have to wait till he received new orders.

Hitting the accelerator Bacredi flew his fighter upward. Four Twilight Squadron members flew past Bacredi's TIE, their Ion Engines were lit blue as they headed towards the Lobo. Chief Warrant Officer C-3PX2, the best pilot Kaph had flew in front of Bacredi, while Ratchet and Kane flew in another pair next to Bacredi and C-3PX2. Scaridian Mork, Bacredi's close friend had been removed from the battle-that might cost them. Strangely enoguh was the fact that the hostile forces that were present in the Yetton System earlier had left, but their exiting the system marked the arrival of four CR90 Corvettes, and 45 TIE Droid starfighters. Doing the odds in his head "45 versus 11, plus 24 equals 35 against 45." Bacredi though, and he didn't like the results.

"... Crskk ... Crskk ... It is about the become a mess out here, Forty Five TIE Droid star fighters inbound, we will be attacking them. Watch for Crimson Squadron, do not hit friendly craft. That is all, head out!” C-3PX2's automated voice came through Bacredi's COM. And in response Bacredi tilted his fighter with C-3. Kane and Ratchet moved their fighters in the same way C-3PX2 and Bacredi had done, fifteen automated starfighters headed for the four pilots of Kaph. Green laserfire began to exchange between the groups, the four pilots broke up as the droid starfighters came so close that a collision was inevitable, luckily they had avoided that. All the pilots scattered, the droids followed suit. Hitting 100% speed Bacredi was being pursued by two Droids, they were moving faster than him-he would be dead soon if he didn't gain more speed. Moving his five fingers over panels that said On and Off, hitting Light Shields Off. Bacredi could feel as the shields drained, unfortunately the droids found him as a target just then. And laserfire began to litter the space around Bacredi's TIE. But he hit faster speeds now, 130% speed kicked in.

"This is Kaph 2, I have two TIE Droid Models on my back!" Bacredi's voice probably echoed through Kaph, Twilight, Crimson, and the other support ships COMS. "Help!"

One well placed shot from the TIE/D hit Bacredi's wing. Flames now covered a eight of Bacredi's solar wings, he was in deep shit this time. He though "Here this goes", without even looked Bacredi flipped the panels Speed Lower/Off and Shields On. Bacredi's TIE stopped mid-combat, shields full power and speed off. He gently flicked Speed Gain/On and hit it to 100%. Two droid starfighters were in his sights, and now this was in his hands to finish the bastards. Heading straight towards the fighters the Lobo was behind them, either let them get killed by him, or the Lobo. He chose both. Tibanna Gas left by the dozen from his chin mounted guns, the Lobo's gunners caught site of this and began to barrage the TIE/D Starfighters as well. One of Bacredi's shots knicked a Droid Starfighter and made the fighter go haywire, and let it crash into the Lobo.

"Comin' on your tail!" One of Crimson Squadron's members voice came into Bacredi's ear, and a TIE formed up to the left of Bacredi. The second Droid Starfighter began to do maneuvers, this was followed by shots from the two pilots. Bacredi's current de facto wingmate from Crimson Squadron let out two more laser blasts, hitting the Droid Starfighter in the center-destroying it instantly. "Heh, simple."

"Good shot-" Bacredi checked his console. This was Crimson 6. "-Crimson 6!" Bacredi followed the Crimson member towards a large dogfight, Kaph members and Crimson members were involved against numerous Droid Starfighters.

Six Droid Starfighters found the pair of Vast Empire Navy Pilots. Bacredi followed Crimson 2's lead, and six droid starfighters came towards the two. Followed by two Kaph pilots-Jokerace and StOrMz-suddenly the droids let out six shots. Missing Bacredi, but killing his de facto wingmate, Crimson 6.

"This is Kaph 2, I have two TIE Droid Models on my back! Help!"

Kane heard Bacredi’s call for help, but he was a bit tied up with evasive maneuvers, trying to keep himself and Ratchet alive. Kane needed something desperately to shake the tail he picked up, something that wouldn’t leave Ratchet flying solo.

“Kane to Ratchet. I’m going to break hard into a barrel roll. Cover my backside in case these droids received a mid-flight upgrade.”

He broke hard into a high-g roll, crushing himself against his seat. The simulators tried to prepare pilots for this by changing the cabin pressure, but unless everything was moving in unison it wasn’t the same. Kane’s fingers began to tingle and go numb before he pulled out of the roll, glad to see only one fighter with him. A brief check of signatures proved it to be Ratchet. Maybe he was a better pilot than Kane gave him credit for, but unless they both got out of this mess alive then it was still anyone’s game.

Kane saw Crimson 6 join Bacredi on his radar, then shook his head a bit as the pilot got cocky with the kill. Kane was about to remind him that this was far from over, but the sudden bright flash across the battlefield and the radar signature dropping off was more than enough to remind everyone that they were still in serious trouble.

He watched a droid starfighter apparently have what could only be described as a seizure, it’s craft banking then pitching, rolling first one way then the other. Kane shrugged and decided to put the droid out of it’s misery with the help of a few laser blasts followed by a missile. He didn’t stick around to watch the light show, as he learned his lesson when he blew out the belly of the last fighter. Bright lights attracted droids, so Kane dove hard once the missile was locked and fired. The kill was confirmed with a single light dimming on his radar.

Kane quickly took a survey of the tiny red dots on his display. Fark, more than thirty remaining he thought as he pitched his TIE upwards, locking on a droid that was closing in on another member of the Crimson squadron. Bright flashes erupted around the droid TIE, it’s shield failing. Kane was too close to use a missile and didn’t have a clear shot, so he simply left the disabled fighter to the vultures and rejoined Ratchet who had appeared to get the attention of a pair of droids.

“Ratchet, watch your six!” Kane shouted as the droids opened fire. Kane returned the favor, flanking one of them and clipping it’s wing, sending it barreling towards the Lobos. Let the big guns have that one he thought before falling in behind the still pursuing droid.

“Ratchet, give me your shield status.”

“Ratchet to Kane, shields at 47 percent and steady.”

“Roger. Bank to starboard, I’m behind this one and I’ll sandwich him in.”

“Roger.”

Kane watched as Ratchet banked. The droid fired a few more blasts, surely almost depleting Ratchet’s shields. Kane punched the accelerator on his TIE and closed the distance to the fighter, unleashing as rapid of a burst as possible, blowing out the droid’s shields before a few more blasts tore a wing completely off the TIE. It spun out of control before bursting, a few pieces of debris barely larger than a helmet.

“Ratchet to Kane. My shields are gone. I’m heading back for repairs.”

“Good luck. I’ll clear a path for you.” Kane replied before turning his TIE towards home base and accelerating off, shooting at anything red he could see to make the path as clear as possible. Once he was close enough, he broke off from his escort responsibilities and returned to the fight, hungry for more droid bits to be littering this sector.

He turned back towards the fringes of the battle, looking for damaged or disabled droids that needed to be finished off, as well as looking for disoriented or fleeing friendlies who needed assistance. He didn’t find either with this pass, but he continued to make his rounds, keeping all comm channels open in case Crimson or Twilight members called for assistance. He shifted in his seat a bit before noticing a red bogie on his radar, dead ahead and closing fast.

Laser fire erupted around Kane, causing his eyes to see spots as his instinct kicked in. Kane dove sharply, pitching his TIE down hard and fast, not waiting to see if there were friendlies in the area that could assist. A warning sounded in the cockpit, a noise that could only be one thing.

Kane juked hard to the side, rolling to avoid the missile that’s locked on. He scanned his radar and found what he needed, a pair of droids. Kane quickly decided that suicide was better than being lit up by a droid, so he brought the pair into his sights and made straight for them.

Less than 100 meters out from the pair, Kane performed a quick yo-yo, dipping down before bringing himself up and crossing in front of the droids. They quickly picked up the pursuit moments before the missile that had locked onto Kane blew out the back end of one of the droids. The concussive blast barreled the other end over end as Kane wondered if the droid who launched the missile knew it shot down one of it's own.

The battle had its moments of varying intensity now things were heating up again and Sovern had to take some serious evasive action. They were droids lacking imagination but what they lacked in abstract thought they more than made up for in sheer overwhelming concentration of force. As the battle intensified once again Sovern had to keep a look out not only for enemy craft but also for allies getting to close. Concentrating on evading fire from a Tie/D fighter Sovern got himself in to a slight situation with a member of Crimson squadron. Wile rolling out of fire from the Tie/D he heard an ominous thunk click noise. Looking to the right side of his fighter confirmed it his fighters’ aileron and Crimson 4’s were locked together.

Switching frequencies Sovern spoke to the other pilot “Crimson 4 come in.”

He than waited for a long moment before he heard “~Heavy breath, heavy breath~ Th-this is Crimson 4” in a shaky voice.

Replying calmly to Crimson 4 he spoke “Do not panic, if you panic we will both die.” Closing his eyes a moment to keep from panicking he continued. “Your aileron is locked in to mine your on top of mine, when I count to three I want you to roll right and pull out of the roll I will be rolling the same direction but pulling in to the roll that will separate us and give us some distance. Roger?”

Another long moment passed “Roger”

“Okay 3…2…1 roll”

With that Crimson 4 began his roll an instant after that Sovern began his the two ships separated and began to put distance between each other. He could definitely feel his but pucker up tighter than a gundarks grip as a few sparks flew and solar cells broke off during separation but it was still a successful separation. Taking a deep breath he spoke one last time to Crimson 4 “Good job and fly safe” Banking toward the battle Sovenr once again engaged the enemy.

Events of Zhar Bacredi-Operation: Iron Sweep
Status: Fighting above Yetton V, pursued by 3 Droid Fighters

Kaph 2 darted across the battle field in the space above Yetton V. Closely pursued by three Droid Starfighters and Crimson 2 and 3. Bacredi dodged the laser blasts from the TIE/D Starfighters, while Crimson 2 and 3 attempted to destroy the three Droid fighters that were about to make scrap out of Bacredi and his fighter. Suddenly Bacredi dodged one of the blasts, but in his maneveur he had moved straight into the path of one of the other Droid Fighter's firing path. Now Bacredi was about to lose his shields-not that he needed the pieces of shit.

"This is Kaph 2 relaying a message to any other Task Force members. I have been hit critically-!" Two more blasts hit Bacredi's fighter, taking a huge chip out of his wing. "-I have been hit critically and I will probably lose my COM in a few-Ah god Crimson keep them off me!"

Bacredi's COM went dead. It was followed by silence in the cockpit as he moved all he had left-Ion Engines, Laser Cannons, and a flight suit-this was not going to end well. He still had his radar as well, one of the green dots labeled as Crimson 2 shot twice hitting one of the Droid Starfighters, destroying it.

Bacredi's hand reached towards his Equipment Pack. Opening it he found a wiring kit, grabbing it he opened it and used one hand to pilot and the other to open the COM Data Device. "... Crskk ... Crskk ..." Bacredi adjusted the the channels, he was attempting to find an open one. Realizing it was dead, he had to do manual repair, or he had to have a faith of luck. "... Kaph 2!?! Are you there Kaph 2?!"

He had luck, "Yeehaa! Yeah I am here, performing evasive maneuvers!" Bacredi screamed into his COM. Now turning around the Droid Starfighters flew off course, they were then chased by Crimson 2 and 3. They hunted them down a few seconds later the Droids retreated and Crimson 2 and 3 returned to Bacredi.

"Kaph 2 this is Crimson 3, we will stick with you for a second."

Crimson 2 and 3 began a hunt for a third Droid Starfighter

"Kaph 2, we're going to get this one on our screens, we'll be back in a sec. Can you handle it?"

"Yeah, let me just repair a few things."

"Kaph 2, this is Kaph 8! Please come in." Mel stated into his COM, merely seconds later.

Bacredi was too busy repairing the rest of the damages, not giving enough attention to the two incoming TIE/D's somehow sneaking directly behind him."
His ears began to bleed invisible blood as his radar beeped at a higher pitch and without mercy.

"Shut up!" He yelled, cursing a bit.

Mel winced and bit his lip with his near-perfect maw.

"What did you say to me?" Mel asked with a red face and with a bit of smoke puffing out of his grayish hair and into his helmet.

"Not you, the radar! Gah!" His ship vibrated from the TIE/D's attack behind him, blending his bones in with his flesh, creating a small amount of pulp-like blood to emit from his body.

Mel tried to warn him, but the situation was too tense to try to warn Bacredi any longer. With a curve to the right, Mel was directly behind the two bullying TIE/D's.

"Take this, you kretting fecks!" he cursed with a couple hints of his Eriaduan heritage. Multiple fires from Mel's ship accompanied his maniacal roar of victory from his cockpit. There goes 600,000 credits down the drain. he thought as the TIE/D's rolled around the radius of the ship, eventually knocking into eachother and providing some bloody clues of hopeful victory in the eyes of the Navy.

"Can you settle down, over there?" Bacredi asked, somehow thankfully.

"Heh-Sorry, got a bit carried away."

"That's fine. Thanks for saving me back there."

Mel resumed to his usual, bitter attitude. "Yeah well, can't be there all the time, so make sure there aren't any coming next go around."

"Kaph 8, we'll take it from here; Crimson 2 and I got that first one back there." Crimson 3 stated.

"I think I'll stay behind you guys. I might come in handy again later." The aging Mel said with a boastful, yet victorious sort of tone.

The group flew in unison towards their left, waiting for the next group of enemies.

"Kaph 8, this is Kaph 2." Bacredi said.

"Yes, Kaph 2?"

"How about we take out the one around your eight?"

Mel chuckled. "Let's do it! Oh, and by the way, Kaph 2."

"Yeah?"

"Call me Mel, I'm a bit tired of assigned names."

"Sure. Ready to get 'em?"

Mel shouted again, and they charged towards the TIE.

Kane smirked as he heard the reports of fighters being destroyed left and right. It seemed that the more droids that went down, the less cohesive the hostile force seemed to be. The pattern of enemy fighters on his radar seemed to back up the claims. Instead of pristine formations and tight flight patterns, Kane was seeing more and more scatter-shot droids and more single targets.

He grumbled as he overshot the main battlefield while paying too much attention to the radar. With one hand still on the yoke, he tightened the carbon fiber buckles on his flight harness and then gripped the controls tightly, the stitching in the flight gloves groaning in protest before he pitched hard port, turning his craft around and lining up his next shot.

The Crimson squad seemed to be stepping up their game after the loss of one of their comrades, and Bacredi appeared to have control of his situation. A quick bleep on his readout showed an enemy fighter attempting to flank Kane. With a smirk he brought his craft to a halt, a strong jerk in the cockpit letting him know his airspeed was greatly reduced. The flanking fighter now became a prime target as it passed in front of Kane, and the opportunity wasn’t lost. A rapid double-burst of cannon fire let the droid know it’s time was running out.

Kane pushed the accelerator as hard as he dared, still not completely sold on the abilities of the TIE. With a slight pendulum-effect of swinging left to right, Kane found the sweet-spot behind the droid TIE and chased it down. With one hand Kane held down the trigger for his starboard cannon, and the other dialed in the degree of shooting so that a single blast hit on the droid TIE’s solar panels. A few moments later and the port cannon was dialed in as well.

Kane checked his weapon inventory, appalled to see that he was down to his last three missiles. He made a mental note to give the crewman in charge of supplying the fighters a sound thrashing if he returned from this mission. If there was one thing out there Kane hated more than the smell of a wet wookie, it was a half-supplied ship. He didn’t care if it was missiles or oxygen or even burned out indicator lights, a pilot depended on his craft to be stocked to and above capacity.

Seems like I’ll have to do this the old-fashioned way, he thought as he closed the gap between himself and the droid. More laser fire lit up the hostile’s shields and as expected the droid began to try and shake the pursuit. First a pitch, then a bank, three rolls and a climb were all followed closely by Kane. If nothing else, this served as a great educational tool to teach pilots in the Academy how uncreative the droids are. Kane just hoped someone was getting this on holo.

Through the stomach-wrenching shifts in direction he stuck with the droid, ignoring the pain in his shoulder from the constant abuse it was received from the harness. Kane’s vision had taken on a red tinge, the blood lust of an imminent kill. He jammed down both triggers on the yoke and gave out a primal growl, watching the cannon fire pierce the droid’s cockpit and tear off a wing before erupting into a short-lived fireball.

Kane broke from pursuit and nearly clipped an incoming droid, feeling the rattle as they each bounced off the other’s shields. He wasn’t planning on firing the last of his missiles any time soon, so Kane dialed into his power system and diverted some of the energy from the missile guidance system to the aft shields. Another jolt let him know that was the right choice and the droid Kane clipped came around for some revenge and attempted to blow out the back-end of the TIE.

He pitched into a spiral dive, his stomach turning just as fast as his TIE was before pulling out of the dive and actually attempting to climb. Kane wanted to see if the zealous droid stayed with him, and a few bursts exploding around him let Kane know that this droid was going to be a bit harder to shake.

With a slight groan as his stomach settled, Kane spotted the heavy guns on the Lobos trying to pick off targets as they came by. Perfect timing he thought, bringing his craft along side of the Lobos, radioing in to the gunners aboard.

“Kaph 1-4 to Lobos gunners. Take care of this droid on my back.”

An affirmative was the reply as Kane watched the turrets begin to track him. He hoped that they were surgeons with those guns, but to make sure he was clear he broke hard to his left and away from the ship. A bright blast filled his cockpit as something behind him got shot. Kane wasn’t sure if it was the droid or an unlucky friendly, but he wasn’t going to stick around to find out. He had more mopping up to do, and he was intent on spending some of his R&R time painting kills on his helmet.

“Anyone know how many we got left? I took out one more, and I think the Lobos got a second. How are we doing out there?” he asked, wanting a status check of not only enemy fighters but also friendlies. He wanted to know if any Kaph had been lost. He might be new to the squadron, and new to the Navy in general, but damn if he didn’t feel a sense of duty to protect those who he flew with.

Soverns heart began to beat more slowly he wasn’t excited any more he was confidant, he felt his blood boiling as he felt the fighters engines tingle through his spine and he smiled. He finally felt what his grand mother was talking about in her stories about combat its exhilaration and grace. Rocking to the right and rolling left Sovern sends his fighter in to a negative push over and pitching the push over in to a full dive in-between a pair of Tie/D’s. The chase was on when the droids made to pursue him in standard cover formation.

Laughing to him self Sovern continued to dive toward the planet beneath him rolling and serpentine out of the blaster fire. The alarm started sounding as he entered the atmosphere of Yetton V. His ailerons started to glow as the atmosphere started to heat them up and ionize around him. Feeling the fighter start to shake he pulled out of the atmosphere and checked behind him one droid broke off pursuit the other remaind above him in the atmosphere waiting. This was just fine by Sovern as he began the dogfight with the droid. The droid was on his 10 trying to position for a good side shot with missiles two missiles was fired. Pulling hard he released his chaff and flairs before turning in to a rolling reversal as the missiles blew up above him, he was now facing his dance partner switching to blasters he rained fire on the droid lighting it up like Coruscants night side. The droid erupted in a brilliant ball of fire. Rolling in celebration Sovern announced on the comms “Scratch one.”

The celebrations were short lived how ever as the battle continued, banking around Sovern soon found another pair of droids. The fighters split, up picking out the lead fighter Sovern stayed on his tail. The droid began a High G Barrel roll followed by a split S Sovern attempted to play follow the leader but the fighter wasn’t up to par to his opponent. Curseing in Mandalorian and saying “This ships got a fat ass” in basic he relied on his ingenuity to win the fight. By the time he had reengaged his target droid its wingman had engaged him. Now he was in a trouble sandwich and he had no chaff. Disengaging from one droid he concentrated on the one behind him. Pulling a serpentine out of the blaster fire he barreled toward the Lobos with his pursuer close behind and gaining. Perfect he thought to himself adjusting power outputs giving as much speed as he possibly could coax out of his fighter. The droid followed suit. The proximity alarms were starting to ring, not needing distraction at the moment he switched it off. At the very last second he pulled hard using his pitch and yaw to twist the fighter around the various obstacles the appeared in his port. A bounce here and a scrape there but he made it through the obstacle course of the droid lacking abstract thought couldn’t handle all the random changes and so wasn’t as fortunate and collided with one of the Lobos stanchions.

“Scratch another Droid”

Climbing away from the Lobo Sovern found the lone droid attempting to engage one of Crimsons fighters. Not letting such an opportunity go to waste Sovern engaged it leveling behind the Droid and fired a missile. The Droid chaffed decoying the missile away from it and than initiated an offensive head on maneuver. With out hesitation Sovern switched to blasters and fired. The droid rolled out of the blaster fire and dove in to an extreme rolling spiral. Sovern followed suit when the droid finally pulled out of his spiral it almost got behind Sovern thinking quickly he countered with a scissors maneuver, getting a missile lock he took a chance that the droid was out of chaff and flares and fired the missile followed the ion trail and hit it intended target.

Upon hearing Kanes voice over the comms Sovern replied “number 3 down that makes a total 27 left keep on em.”

Mel and Bacredi, along with Crimson 2 and 3, charged mercilessly towards the droid starfighter. Expecting it to be a quick kill, Mel aimed at it with ease. However, the droids were not as consistent as Kane thought.

The droid flew upwards, over, then to the rear of the four fighters.

"Roll to your flanks!" Mel shouted as he did a quick barrel roll to the left.

Surprisingly, the four fighters were able to counterstrike at the fighter's rear once more. Within a few mere nanoseconds, the TIE/D was decimated, now a floating oatmeal of shrapnel.

"That was a bit odd for that droid to do that." Mel stated.

"Yeah." Agreed Bacredi.

The group flew a bit farther, then resumed their almost automatic destruction of the TIE/D's.

"Two up ahead." Mel reported, studying his radar.

Bacredi then checked his radar to find the ships' positions. His head cocked back a bit out of surprise.

"Mel, there's nothing there."

"Nonsense, they are clearly on the radar."

Then, something hit Bacredi. Ach! Forgot to fix the radar.

"Crimson 2, 3 , and Mel, I got to fix my radar."

A few crashes from the incoming starfighters initiated. They aimed straight at the weakest ship: Bacredi's.

"Now's not the time! Crimson 2 and 3, cover us!" Mel shouted as he zoomed right in front of Bacredi.

"What're you doing?!" Bacredi screamed, appalled.

"You can't take any more damage; fix the radar! Quick!" The blasts hit the right side of Mel's ship as his shields grew weaker.

Luckily, Bacredi was pretty handy with his ship's machinery.

"Fixed!"

"Be quick, now go!" Mel yelled as his ship detoriated from the blasts. He jabbed at the controls in front of him, and wheeled towards the droid starfighters, who were now focusing on Crimson 2 and 3 for their own sake.

After a few moments of dogfighting, the droid starfighters quickly exploded in a spectacular sight worthy of the Emperor.

Let me give you guys the update-Mother of... we are doing good. I mean 3 posts today so far, and its not even Dinner. This is in line with StOrMz Promotion to PO1 (Petty Officer, First Class), congrats to StOrMz.

Bacredi hit full G. Kaph 2-4 was on his side, while Crimson 2 and 3 were in a pair in front of them. The four pursued a Droid Starfighter with no mercy whatsoever. Bacredi could tell that Mel was aiming, Bacredi let him have the kill though. It wasn't a kill. The Droid flew upwards, and moved to the rear of the four fighters.

"Roll to your flanks!" Mel's voice came through Bacredi's COM, and Bacredi did so. Even though the two were equal, he respected his squad mates-even though he had known him for barely twenty minutes-Bacredi rolled. The four fighters flew at the droid, in a strangely successful counterattack. Crimson 2 and 3 flew towards the fighter, followed by Mel and Bacredi. Crimson 2 and 3 did a hit and run tactic just in time for Bacredi to fire two shots, decimating the Droid Starfighter.

"That was a bit odd for that droid to do that." Mel stated what he though to Bacredi, and Bacredi though the same. Why would a droid let us get to it like that... its not made like that.

"Yeah," Bacredi spoke into his COM. Agreeing with Mel.

The four Vast Empire Pilots let their Ion Engines push them forward, battle surrounded them. But those mini-dogfights were already being fought. Ahead Crimson 11 fought for his life against two droid Starfighters. It was in vein, his TIE blew into shrapnel.

"Two up ahead." Mel said, Bacredi knew that he was studying his radar. Bacredi did the same. Damn, I do not have radar.

"Mel, there is nothing there." Bacredi said, his head cocked back in suprise.

"Nonsense, they are clearly on the radar." Mel said back.

Crimson 2 and 3 engaged the TIE/D that had just taken one of their squad mates. Mel waited behind to cover Bacredi. "Crimson 2, 3 , and Mel, I got to fix my radar." Bacredi stated in his COM, he opened his tool kit and opened his Radar. Taking out his hydrospanner he switched wire 2 and 10 with there circuitry. His box was fried. Blasts started to surface around Bacredi's TIE as the fighters knowingly aimed for Bacredi's weakened fighter. Picking up his electrospanner he used it as leverage, and hit the switch. Damn, didn't work

"Now's not the time! Crimson 2 and 3, cover us!" Mel screamed through his COM, wanting to protect Bacredi.

Pulling back Bacredi spoke into his COM: "What're you doing?!"

"You can't take any more damage; fix the radar! Quick!" Mel's status in Bacredi's faceplate was going down.

Picking out one of the scraps Bacredi hit the switch again. Yes "Fixed!" Bacredi pulled out of the battle in relief.

"Be quick, now go!" Mel screamed into his COM as Bacredi aimed his ship back down, taking two Droid Starfighters by suprise he opened fire. Hitting one the other limped off, it was hunted by Crimson 2 who took its 'life' in a second.

The four moved back, and were encountered by six Droid Starfighters. Suddenly green laserfire covered Bacredi's screens. Suddenly Crimson 3 screamed into her COM. "Ah!... Crskk ... Crskk."

She was dead.

OOC:
24 TIE/D Left. Crimson 3 and eleven KIA.

Even odds now and with the caliber of the pilots in his squadron Sovern and the rest of the squadron would soon be turning their attention to the CR90’s. With out the support of fighters ships are pretty much sitting ducks versus fighter/attack squadrons. Checking his inventory he calculated his consumables than checked his H.U.D and RADAR. After making a quick check of his resources he visually inspected his craft as best he could starboard aileron damaged, heat damage on the pylons as well as impact damage on the bottom ailerons. Conclusion still space worthy but atmospheric maneuvers are not recommended.

Time to put the odds in Kaph’s favor now selecting an enemy Sovern engaged, almost salivating at the opportunity to drop a few more Tie/D’s. The enemy he chose was a single unit. Banking upward and right he attempted to line the Droid up for a missile lock. The Droid began evasive maneuvers, Sovern not wanting to lose his prey followed the game of cat and mouse continued for several seconds. The Droid would roll Sovern would roll, the droid would speed up Sovern would speed up like a deadly game of follow the leader. Finally Sovern shot down the loan fighter.

“Kaph 3-2 scratch one Droid”

With that Sovern checked his status, looking down on his radar Sovern heard the distinct pop pop of the Tie’s Blasters coming from behind him. Smiling he pushed his fighter in to a barrel roll one of his pursuers dipped in to a lag pursuit maneuver while the other began to initiate a low speed yo-yo forcing Sovern to stay on the defensive. Performing a rolling reversal Sovern split the difference between the two Droid fighters followed by a split-S. He was now in a better position he was not directly behind his target but to its 9 O’clock position. Leading the droid he fired three blasts they shot true the first hit the port ailerons causing the droid to spin out of control the second and third shots hit the fighters pod directly.

Preparing to engage the second of the two droids he heard what was left of one of Crimson squads flights speaking over the comms’ to the enemy droid “Enemy craft do you intend to engage this fighter?”  With out hesitation the droid fighter retreated with the Crimson flight saying “We didn’t think so”

Sovern gave a roll “Thank you gentleman” Sovern said over the Comms before returning to battle.

Kane was livid.

He heard Crimson 3’s final comm and it sent him over the edge. It wasn’t droid versus droid out here. If it was, Kane would probably be sitting on an observation deck somewhere hedging bets. This was some megalomaniac sending droids out to do a job he’s too scared to do himself.

Kane forgot about the cramps in his legs and the ache in his back. This was the longest he’d been in the cramped quarters of a TIE or TIE simulator, and his body was trying to adjust the best it could. He ignored the nagging in the back of his head, that little voice warning him not to put too much faith in the spacecraft he piloted. Kane was beyond feeling, he was running on pure instinct now.

A droid fighter passed Kane’s right, and a fire burned deep in his eyes. Even the gray eye, it’s pigmentation destroyed all those years ago, seemed to burn with an intensity beyond comprehension. Kane quickly angled towards the craft and dialed his cannons in, jamming the triggers on his yoke as the laser blasts found their mark. In little time, the blasts tore through the droid’s shields and sheared a wing from the craft. The TIE began an erratic spin, a lop-sided barrel roll as the balance of the craft was suddenly shifted. Kane wasn’t satisfied with leaving the disabled craft to spin endlessly until it crashed, he wanted the honors himself.

Accelerating to match the pace of the craft, Kane listened for the guidance tone from his missile system. Instead of deploying, which would have been devastating at this close range, Kane used the guidance tone as a way of measuring his blasts. Each time he was able to lock onto the erratic droid fighter, Kane unleashed a fury of blasts. In no time at all, the craft erupted and his guidance system went silent.

Inverting and banking hard, Kane flew into the heart of the battlefield. He fired shots at every hostile he could, wanting to weaken their shields or send them into oblivion. He weaved in and out of clusters of fighters, friendly and hostile alike, picking droids off with ease.

A warning screamed through his cockpit as a flight of droids dropped into formation behind him. A fast break and a quick loop muted the alarm and brought Kane into a flanking position. Kane restored the diverted power back to his guidance system, allowing it to lock onto targets at it’s normal range, not the abbreviated distance that reduced power allowed. He turned his craft, appearing as though he was intent on spearing the droid fighters in front of him.

Kane flew closer, waiting for the guidance system to give him a lock. A split second after he received the confirmation on his display, he released a missile and broke pursuit, rising and turning once again. He didn’t bother waiting for confirmation of the kill, either the droid would drop from space or it wouldn’t. Kane was still on the hunt, and by his estimates there were at least twenty-one droids left, twenty if his missile found it’s mark.

Through gritted teeth he continued to make passes, one after the other, flying at full speed and shooting only a few blasts at a time. His intentions now were to damage as many droids as possible, to make everyone else’s job easier. Laser fire danced over the shields of the droid fighters, many flying evasive maneuvers that brought them directly into the sights of Kaph, Crimson, or Twilight squad members. It wasn’t about docking onboard with the most kills, it was about confusing the enemy as much as possible.

Kane took care not to fly in a predictable pattern. He didn’t want any sort of communications between droids to predict his flight and put his plan into jeopardy. Kane criss-crossed the battlefield, rose and dipped, and constantly nipped at the heels of any droid lingering around. He heard one Crimson squad member comment on Kane’s maneuvers with partial appreciation and partial amusement.

“That one is trying to get himself killed.” Crimson 2 said over the comm channel. “He’s either insane or a genius. Let’s not let his efforts go to waste.”

Kane didn’t respond to any of the comm chatter. He continued his break-neck flight pattern, thinking more than once he should go after one of the corvettes just to prove he meant business out here, to draw some droids away from the battlefield and turn their attentions away from defending themselves to open up a chance for the flesh and blood squadrons to bring their formations back in order before spearheading the assault. It was an appealing option, but Kane really wanted to make it out of this alive, and if he brought the wrath of twenty-plus droid fighters upon himself, he’d need a prayer to make it even halfway back to reinforcements.

Instead, he continued to focus on picking off droids. The lack of sentinel thought made the droid fighters nothing more than simulation bots that fired back, but it was the firing back portion that Kane really didn’t appreciate. He continued scanning his radar, taking pot shots at droids he passed, trying to herd them towards the mounted guns on the Lobos or the other friendlies looking for more TIEs to scatter throughout space.

There seemed to be a few spectators to his actions, as Kane soon received a message from the gunners aboard the Lobos.

“Kaph 1-4, don’t be shy about sending them towards us.”

Kane shook his head, wondering who would be thinking that a droid fighter would just willingly fly towards the massive starship just waiting for bogies to pick off. Kane ignored the transmission, just as he had ignored the chattering from Crimson 2 earlier, and locked his sights on another droid. He wasn’t going to let this one get away, something in the back of Kane’s mind said this one might be a flight leader or squad leader. Kane knew that was just wishful thinking. He knew that the way the droids were programmed, they didn’t need a flight leader or a squadron leader. Each droid was capable of being effective as part of a squadron or running solo. And that was their downfall.

Mel looked to his right and saw an explosion farther away.

Looks like someone got their mark.

He then snapped his neck back to his front, taking note of the six starfighters behind him. Then he noticed something. When he curved left, the starfighters followed. When he wheeled right, the starfighters responded by doing the same.

Fecks. That's it! Mel said, almost echoing the "Eureka!" of Pythagoras.

Mel activated his thrusters, and charged towards the Lobo, not stopping. The starfighters followed suit, and took their attention off Bacredi and Crimson 2, since Mel now had the weakest ship.

"Crimson 2 and Kaph 2, do NOT follow me or attack these six! I repeat, move on. I got these guys."

"Mel, now I know you're nuts." Bacredi said, shaking his head out of disbelief.

The six starfighters charged quickly towards Mel, but couldn't quite catch up. Their lasers missed as Mel spiraled even faster towards the Lobo.

"This is Kaph 8 to current defenders on the Lobo. Six starfighters headed towards you. I'll keep them in your range."

Mel kept spiraling, but slowed down, allowing a chance for the starfighters to get a critical shot on him. They took that opportunity. The lasers were in a perfect position to kill Mel, but he did an action unexpected. He made his fighter zoom downwards at full speed, and the starfighters could have cried. As he charged downwards, the starfighters saw that right in front of Mel, where they could not see, were two large Ion cannons on the Lobo.

They already had enough power to begin shooting.

"Uh.....Oh One of the TIE/D's croaked in a metallic voice.

The ion cannons fired, turning three of the Tie/D's into ripped byproducts of the Imperial War Machine.

A few of the pilots who saw the feat dropped their jaws. Bacredi's eyes opened and he let out a "Wooohooo!"

Mel was sweating profusely, glad to be alive.

"Crimson 2, cover me when you can. I need to make a few repairs before we attempt the other three."

This was one determined droid that engaged Sovern that was good he liked a challenge it was in his blood he figured. Pulling in to a high G barrel roll he kept an eye on his radar a trey missile wizd by his fighter. The Droid initiated a low speed yo-yo trying to regain the missile lock that it suddenly lost. Seeing this Sovern attempted a split S but the droid countered that with a rolling reversal. The droid was definitely tenacious it wouldn’t surprise Sovern if the droid was piloted by a real person on one of the CR90’s. That was something he’d think about later right now he was busy evading the droids fire. The combat was invigorating to Sovern making his blood boil filling him full of energy.

This brought him back to his flying lessons that his grandmother gave him as a kid. He remembered a little trick that she taught him. The conditions were right he had a fighter capable enough to perform the trick, there was no gravity nor atmosphere to cause drag. When he heard Crimson squadron state “That one is trying to get himself killed.” He laughed to him self. Leveling out he diverted seventy five percent power from his blasters to his engines he accelerated to 150% speed. After accelerating to the fighters maximum he cut the engines using his foot pedals he performed an extreme yaw sending the entire craft spinning. Once he was 180 degrees from his original vector he used his breaking thrusters and opposite direction yaw controls to stabilize. He was now facing the droid view port to view port his fighter relatively speaking was now flying backwards inertia keeping his fighter moving along its original direction.

The comms light up with “Woahs and huhs” from any fighters that saw this maneuver even the droid was confused to Soverns benefit. Smiling and laughing to himself he waved and fired a missile. Yes he fired a missile as he was traveling away from the droid. The Droid fired its flares and chaffs but to no avail as they were fired in the wrong direction. As the debris had scattered Sovern kicked on his engines fighting inertia coming to a stop and finally accelerated to full speed. Smiling from ear to ear he spoke on the comms “That my friends is what is know as a yaw reverse…and scratch another droid.” Readjusting his machine back to normal operating standards he picked out a new bogie.

The next Droid Sovern engaged was not as tenacious as the last one which was disappointing to him. As the Droid attempted to initiate a push over Sovern rolled his fighter in a dive.  Rolling out of the push over the droid accelerated. Adjusting power outputs Sovern pushed just as hard. The droid pulled a loop followed by Sovern. Any thing the droid did couldn’t shake its pursuer. The dog fight continued though because despite it all Sovern still couldn’t get a clear shot with either his missiles or blasters.

Sovern realized that at the moment he was being too aggressive. Letting back on the accelerator he let the droid gain a bit of distance. Taking a deep relaxing breath he reengaged this time he was able to get a clear shot. Banking in to an easy barrel roll he began to line up a shot. Every thing clicked smiling Sovern fired ~pop pop~ the blasts hit his target true sending the Droid reeling and sparking and finally exploding. “Scratch another Droid sixteen more left”

OOC:
i didnt count this time but probaly around 500 give or take, 2 kills 16 Droids left to kill.

Kaph 5 jerked into a barrel roll to the left trying desperately to keep from being hit by his assailants many laser blasts.

"Hold on Ph'rranix! I am pulling in behind the bogey," shouted Joker. The Kaph pilot eagerly dropped in behind his XO's attacker and blew the useless droid apart.

[Thanks Kaph 6,] growled the Wookie. The Kaph XO sent his wingman the order to drift off just enough to attract some more attention. [I have a little trrick up my sleeve.]

As Ph'rranix farted around, flying somewhat lazily to the naked eye. A TIE/d attached itself to Kaph 2-1's tail. The monstrous Wookie played around with it for a little bit, feeling out his prey. Then, unexpectedly, Stormz jerked up into an Immelman. Following suit, the TIE droid Starfighter pulled up also. Half way into his move, and Ph'rranix rolled out of it to the left, catching the droid off guard. Quickly realizing what had just happened, the TIE/d dropped down toward his prey, but during the split second it had been confused, Stormz managed to pull a High-G manuever and face his target. Both fighters suddenly became engulfed in green bolts. A brilliant blue-white explosion showed itself from the middle of the turmoil, with Stormz TIE Fighter emerging from the carnage, looking relatively unscathed.

[Kaph five to Kaph one overr,] Ph'rranix roared frantically.

"Kaph one here, over." C-3 replied.

[Rrequesting to returrn to the Lobo sirr. I have taken a significant amount of damage. Over.]

"Request granted. Radio the Comm officer and inform him of your arrival. Over."

[Copy, Sirr. I will inforrm you of my arrrrival.] With that, Stormz cut contact with C-3 and headed to his flagship.

**********

Within a few minutes, Stormz had reached the Lobo and safely landed. As he mentioned earlier, the Kaph XO sent C-3PX2 a message to inform his Squadron Commander of his arrival.
